A new business can buy at wholesale sizes without a wholesaler's minimum. CSI's listed store states no minimum order and prices every oil from its smallest size to 1 kg, with 73 oils in stock at 1 kg and 64 at 500 g; anything above 1 kg of one oil is quoted on WhatsApp, with no published discount figure. What a new business needs is the order of buying, not a trade account. Order one is testers: six 15 g oils plus wax, wicks and jars for six test candles, ₹2,215.82 in our plan. "Wholesale" sounds like a door a new business has to be let through. For most of what a new candle brand needs, the door is already open.

Two practical points. First, ask with the production order, not the tester. You will not know which oils you are using until order two, and that is when a stockist or corporate client is most likely to ask. Second, keep them filed by oil. When a gifting client asks for the IFRA certificate for the scent in their candle, you should be able to send it the same day. First-order mistakes to avoid
New businesses rarely go wrong on price. They go wrong on sequence.
Buying production sizes before testing. The kilo of an untested oil is the single most expensive mistake a new candle business can make with fragrance. Test first; the tester premium is small beside it.
Forgetting the paperwork until a client asks. A gifting client or stockist asks for the IFRA certificate for a candle already delivered, and the maker has to chase it after the fact. Ask with the production order and file it by oil.
