Commercial Fragrance · Hot Throw in Coconut Soy
Hot throw is what a lit candle does to a room, and it depends on the oil, the load, the wick, the cure and the room at once. We have not published hot-throw measurements for any oil, so this page does not rank them. It gives you a test that separates those causes and tells you which oil wins in your jar.
₹4,429.40
a complete 12-candle hot-throw matrix in CSI 468 — three 100 g oils, 2.5 kg of wax, two wick types, three packs of five jars · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Which fragrance oils give the strongest hot throw in coconut soy wax? We have not published throw measurements, for any oil in any wax, so any ranking would be invented. Hot throw also depends on load, wick, cure and room. Test finalists in a matrix — this page's example uses Citrus Lemon, Spicy Cinnamon and Dark Vanilla Oud.

Why test load and wick together? Because each can mask the other. A candle that seems weak at 8% may be under-wicked, not under-scented. Running both loads with both wicks shows which one is actually limiting throw. See reading the results.

What load should I test for hot throw in coconut soy? 8% and 10% if the wax maker's stated maximum allows 10%; otherwise 6% and 8%. No ceiling is published in our data for any coconut wax — ask on WhatsApp first. Best Fragrance Load for Fragrance Oils in Coconut Soy Wax.

How much does a hot-throw test cost? The 12-candle matrix here costs ₹4,429.40: three 100 g oils ₹1,589.00, 2.5 kg CSI 468 ₹1,625.00, 10 Eco Thin C1 and 10 Eco Thick C2 wicks ₹153.40, 15 White Matte jars ₹1,062.00.
The short answer
Honest answer: No oil can be named as the strongest hot throw in coconut soy from published data — we have none. Candidates are chosen by reason and proved by a matrix test in your own jar and room.
The matrix: 3 oils × 2 loads (8%, 10% — only if the wax's maximum allows) × 2 wicks (Eco Thin C1, Eco Thick C2) = 12 candles of 200 g, cured and burned blind.
Cost: Oils ₹1,589.00 · CSI 468 ₹1,625.00 · wicks ₹153.40 · jars ₹1,062.00 · total ₹4,429.40.

Otherwise run 6% and 8%.Scores are yours. We have not published throw measurements for any oil in any wax.
Each row is one oil; each column is one load-and-wick combination. Each cell gets three hot-throw scores out of 5, so out of 15. Compare along a row to see what load and wick do for that oil; compare down a column to compare oils under identical conditions. Only the down-the-column comparison says anything about the oils.
Straight answer
Which fragrance oils give strong hot throw in coconut soy wax?
No one can answer that honestly from a list. We have not published hot-throw measurements for any oil, and hot throw is the result of five things at once: the oil, the load, the wick and the melt pool it makes, the cure time, and the room. What you can do is test in a way that separates them. Pick three finalists for stated reasons — here, Citrus Lemon (seventh in CSI's best-selling sort and the cheapest kilo), Spicy Cinnamon (spice, a family commonly chosen for festive, room-filling candles) and Dark Vanilla Oud (a heavier gourmand-wood direction). Pour each at two loads and with two wicks in full 200 g jars of CSI 468: twelve candles, ₹4,429.40 in materials. Run the 10% cells only if the wax maker's stated maximum allows 10% — no coconut-wax ceiling is published in our data. Cure them identically, burn them blind in the same room, and score them on the sheet below. The oil that wins down every column is your hot-throw oil for that jar.
One line: hot throw is a test result — three oils, two loads, two wicks, twelve jars, scored blind in your own room.
The matrix needs 72 g of each finalist, so one 100 g bottle each: Citrus Lemon ₹300.00, Spicy Cinnamon ₹699.00, Dark Vanilla Oud ₹590.00 — ₹1,589.00, with 28 g of each left for a re-run.

What we can and cannot tell you

If a supplier tells you which oil throws hardest in your coconut soy, ask to see the test. We do not have one to show you, so we will show you how to run your own.
The limits of this page, stated plainly
Known, not known, and how to find out
Question What the data says How you find out
Which oil has the strongest hot throw in coconut soy? Not measured — we have published no throw data for any oil The matrix on this page
What is CSI 468's maximum fragrance load? Not published in our data Product page or WhatsApp
Which wick size suits my jar? Not published — no wick-to-diameter table Burn test; the matrix includes two wicks
How long should coconut soy cure? Not published for CSI 468 Pick a period, keep it identical, note it
What does each oil cost per candle? Known exactly from listed prices The tables on this page
Which oils sit near the top of the best-selling sort? Known for the pull date Position is a reason to test, not proof of throw

That table is the reason this page is built around a test. What we know precisely is price: every figure here is arithmetic on listed prices. What we do not know — throw, the coconut wax's ceiling, wick sizing, cure — is exactly what decides hot throw, and it is also what differs between your jar, your room and anyone else's. A matrix test answers those questions for your conditions in one round. The other levers of strength, and an eight-oil screen to find finalists, are in Strong Fragrance Oils for Coconut Soy Candles.

Changing two things at once. A maker finds a candle weak, raises the load and switches to a bigger wick in the same pour. The next candle is stronger, but they cannot tell which change did it — so the next oil gets both changes too, whether it needs them or not. Change one variable per candle, or run a matrix that changes them in a known pattern.

Choosing three finalists

The matrix works best on three oils that have already passed a cheaper screen. If you have not screened yet, run the eight-oil strength screen in Strong Fragrance Oils for Coconut Soy Candles first. The three finalists on this page are illustrations, each chosen for a stated reason and deliberately different in direction, so the test also tells you which family suits your customers' rooms.

The twelve-candle matrix

Hot throw has to be tested in the jar you will sell. Test pots tell you about cold throw; full jars tell you about rooms.

Every finalist is poured four times in a full 200 g White Matte Glass Jar: at 8% and 10%, each with an Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1 and a Thick C2. That uses 72 g of each oil and 2,184 g of CSI 468 in all. If the coconut wax maker's stated maximum is below 10%, run 6% and 8% instead. The wick pair is a starting bracket, not a recommendation for your jar — wick sizing is not published in our data, which is exactly why the wick is a variable here.

Confirm the ceilingAsk on WhatsApp for the stated maximum of CSI 468 (or whichever coconut wax you use). If it is under 10%, shift both loads down one rung.
2
Pour all twelve in one sessionSame wax lot, same pour temperature, same room temperature. Weigh oil to 0.1 g. Label the base of each jar with a code, not the oil name, so scorers are blind.
3
Cure identicallyEvery candle the same number of days. Record the period; one to two weeks is common practice for soy-based candles, not a CSI specification.
4
Burn in sets of fourBurn one oil's four candles at a time in the same room, door in the same position, no fan, for three hours. Rotate which room corner each candle sits in between sessions.

One sheet per candle · scores are yours, not CSI's
Hot-throw scoring sheet
Measure Scale Why it matters
Melt pool at 1 h / 2 h / 3 h Edge reached? Y/N · depth in mm A pool short of the edge limits every other score
Hot throw on entering the room, 2 h 0–5 Scorer walks in from outside; first impression only
Hot throw at the far side of the room, 2 h 0–5 Same spot for every candle
Hot throw at 3 h 0–5 Does the scent build, hold or fade?
Flame and soot Calm / flickering / sooting · mushrooming Y/N Too much wick or too much oil can show here
Surface after cooling Smooth / frosted / wet spots Coconut-soy is sold on its top

Test the room your customer has
A candle that fills a small bedroom may vanish in a large living room with a ceiling fan. Run the matrix in a room like the one your customers buy for, and re-run your winner once in the largest room you expect it to face. Note the room size and fan setting on every sheet.

Reading the results

Most matrices produce one of a handful of patterns. Each tells you which variable is limiting throw, and what to change — or not change — before production.

General interpretation · confirm with a re-run before production
Six common patterns and what they mean
Pattern What it suggests What to do
8% and 10% score the same The extra oil is not reaching the room Choose 8%; spend nothing on the higher load
10% clearly beats 8%, same wick Load is limiting throw Choose 10% only if the wax maker's stated maximum allows it
Thick wick clearly beats thin at both loads The thin wick is under-sized for this jar Fix the wick before judging any oil
Thick wick scores higher but soots or flickers Over-wicked Try a size between, or re-test the thin wick at the higher load
One oil wins in every cell The oil is doing the work Your hot-throw candidate for this jar and room
All cells score low Room, cure or test set-up Re-run in a smaller room after a longer cure before blaming the oils

The pattern to hope for is a clear winner in every column, with little difference between 8% and 10%. That gives you your hot-throw oil and lets you pour at the lower load. If an oil wins only in the 10% columns, its strength depends on a load you may or may not be allowed to use; check the wax maker's figure before planning around it. The load decision on its own is in Best Fragrance Load for Fragrance Oils in Coconut Soy Wax.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We would sell more oil if you poured every finalist at 10%. If your matrix shows 8% and 10% scoring alike, the extra 4 g per candle reaches your costing and not your customer's room — with Spicy Cinnamon that is ₹23.40 per candle for nothing. Pour at the lower load and keep the difference.

What each result costs in production

Once the matrix has chosen an oil, a load and a wick, each choice has a per-candle cost at production rates. Here is what the two non-default choices add to a 200 g CSI 468 candle for each finalist at 1 kg rates.

200 g CSI 468 candle · oil at 1 kg rate · White Matte jar · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Base cost and the price of each upgrade
Oil 8% · Eco Thin C1 10% instead of 8% Eco Thick C2 instead of Thin C1
Citrus Lemon ₹241.61 +₹8.73 +₹3.54
Spicy Cinnamon ₹300.28 +₹23.40 +₹3.54
Dark Vanilla Oud ₹287.36 +₹20.16 +₹3.54

A thicker wick costs ₹3.54 a candle whichever oil you pour; the higher load costs between ₹8.73 and ₹23.40 depending on the oil. If the matrix says the wick was the limiting factor, the wick is the cheap fix. Material cost excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST.

The CSI principle
Separate the causes, then pay only for the one that works.
Hot throw comes from oil, load, wick, cure and room at once. A matrix that varies load and wick in a known pattern shows which one is limiting your candle, so you spend on the fix that reaches the room — often the wick, rarely more oil.
Diwali is on 8 November 2026. The matrix needs a pour, a cure and two or three burn sessions, so start this week if your festive coconut-soy candles must throw by late October. For your winner at production size, ask for a quote with GST invoicing and IFRA documentation.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A page with this title is expected to name winners. We have not measured hot throw for any oil in any wax, so we have named finalists for stated reasons and given you a matrix test instead — and told you to pour at the lower load if the matrix cannot tell them apart.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026. Eco Thin C1 and White Matte jar prices were verified on 10 September 2026; the Eco Thick C2 10-pack (₹94.40) is from the 25 September 2026 wick pull. Best-selling positions are the Fragrance Oils collection's sort on the pull date. Matrix and per-candle costs are plain arithmetic.

The 8%/10% loads, the wick pair, the 200 g jar and the scoring scales are a test design, not a recipe or specification. No fragrance ceiling is published in our data for any coconut wax, and no wick sizing is published. For the wax maker's stated maximum, IFRA certificates or MSDS, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Which fragrance oil has the best hot throw in coconut soy?
We have not published throw measurements, so we cannot name one honestly. Test finalists in a load × wick matrix in your own jar and room; the oil that wins under identical conditions is your best hot-throw oil.
How do I improve hot throw in coconut soy candles?
Check the melt pool first — a pool short of the glass edge limits throw at any load. Then cure time, then room size and airflow. Raise the load only if the wax maker's stated maximum allows, and only if a side-by-side test shows it helps.
Does coconut soy wax have good hot throw?
We have no measurements comparing coconut soy with other waxes. Coconut-soy is generally chosen for its creamy look and premium positioning. Hot throw depends on oil, load, wick, cure and room — test it in your own jar.
What wick is best for coconut soy candles?
Wick sizing is not published in our data. CSI lists Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1 (₹5.90 each) and Thick C2 (₹9.44 each), Cotton Braided (₹12.00) and Performance Wooden Wicks. Test two in your jar, as in the matrix here.
How long to cure coconut soy candles before a hot throw test?
No cure time is published for CSI 468. Many makers cure soy-based candles one to two weeks. Keep the period identical for every candle in the test and record it.
Is 10% fragrance load too much for coconut soy wax?
It depends on the wax maker's stated maximum, which is not published in our data. Ask CSI on WhatsApp. If the figure is below 10%, test 6% and 8% instead. Best Fragrance Load for Fragrance Oils in Coconut Soy Wax sets out the ladder.
