Commercial Fragrance · 1 kg for Coconut Soy
A kilo of fragrance oil is a commitment to about sixty coconut-soy candles and more than eleven kilos of wax. For a handful of oils it is also a real saving. For most, it is the same price per gram as 100 g, and you are buying stock security. This page tells you which is which.
62.5
200 g coconut-soy candles from 1 kg of oil at an 8% test load, needing 11.5 kg of CSI 468 · CSI live pricing, September 2026

The short answer
One kilo makes: 6%: 83.33 candles · 8%: 62.5 · 10%: 50 (200 g). Wax at 8%: 11,500 g of CSI 468, ₹7,345.00.
Real kilo savings: Roasted Coconut 19.2% · Mango Coconut 20.7% · Eucalyptus Spearmint 13.3% · British Rose 10.3% · Ylang Ylang 10.0% · Jasmine 8.8% · Cinnamon Vanilla 5.9%.
Production kit: 1 kg Roasted Coconut + 1 × 10 kg + 2 × 1 kg CSI 468 + 100 Eco wicks + 65 jars = ₹16,861.00 for 62 candles.

What one kilo of fragrance oil becomes in coconut soy 1 kg oil e.g. Roasted Coconut ₹3,999.00 + 11.5 kg CSI 468 1 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g ₹7,345.00 62.5 candles of 200 g at an 8% test load (83.33 at 6% · 50 at 10%) The kilo of oil is the small bag. The coconut soy wax it needs weighs more than eleven times as much. Wax mix is the cheapest combination of listed CSI 468 bags covering the need · CSI live pricing, 24 Sep 2026 6–10% is a labelled test range; no coconut-wax ceiling is published in our data.
Load is a share of the finished candle, so 1 kg of oil at 8% makes 12.5 kg of candle and needs 11.5 kg of wax. Makers who buy a kilo of oil and a kilo of wax together run out of wax after about 5.4 candles.
Straight answer
Should I buy 1 kg of fragrance oil for coconut soy candle making?
Buy the kilo when you know the scent sells — and check first whether the kilo actually saves money for that oil. One kilo at an 8% test load makes 62.5 candles of 200 g and needs 11,500 g of coconut soy wax, which is 1 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g of CSI 468 (₹7,345.00). For 24 oils the kilo is 5% or more cheaper per gram than the 100 g: Roasted Coconut saves 19.2%, or ₹951.00 across the kilo; British Rose 10.3%; Ylang Ylang Flower 10.0%. For 52 of 91 oils the kilo is within 1% of the 100 g, and for a few it is fractionally dearer. Nineteen oils listed an out-of-stock kilo on the pull date. A complete 62-candle kit — 1 kg Roasted Coconut, CSI 468, 100 wicks and 65 jars — costs ₹16,861.00. The 8% is a costing midpoint; no ceiling is published in our data for coconut waxes, so confirm the wax maker's maximum before you pour.
One line: a kilo is sixty-odd coconut-soy candles and eleven-plus kilos of wax — buy it for a proven scent, and for the price only where the break is real.
Roasted Coconut 1 kg is ₹3,999.00 — ₹4.00/g against ₹4.95/g at 100 g, a 19.2% saving, and a coconut profile that tells the same story as the wax. Ten 100 g bottles of it would cost ₹4,950.00.

What one kilo makes in coconut soy

Order the wax from the oil, not the other way round. A kilo of oil is the small half of the order.

Load is a share of the finished candle, so a fixed kilo of oil makes more candles at a lower load. The table shows one kilo at the three rungs of a standard test ladder, with the CSI 468 it needs and the cheapest combination of listed bags to cover it. The rungs are a labelled test range, not a specification: no fragrance ceiling is published in our data for any coconut wax.

1 kg of oil · 200 g candles · CSI 468 bags: 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
One kilo of oil at 6%, 8% and 10%
Load Finished candle Wax needed 200 g candles Cheapest CSI 468 mix Wax cost
6% 16.67 kg 15,667 g 83.33 1 × 10 kg + 1 × 5 kg + 1 × 1 kg ₹10,205.00
8% 12.50 kg 11,500 g 62.50 1 × 10 kg + 1 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g ₹7,345.00
10% 10.00 kg 9,000 g 50.00 1 × 5 kg + 4 × 1 kg ₹5,785.00

At 8% a kilo of oil pairs with 11.5 kg of wax, before any allowance for pour loss and test burns (plan 3–5% extra, a working assumption). The 10 kg bag carries CSI 468's only per-kilo break — ₹637.00 against ₹650.00 — so a kilo of oil is roughly the point at which the 10 kg bag makes sense. If your tests settle at 10%, the kilo makes 50 candles and needs 9,000 g of wax. The load itself is chosen in Best Fragrance Load for Fragrance Oils in Coconut Soy Wax.

Confirm the ceiling before you buy the kilo
A kilo is a commitment to a load. If you buy a kilo planning to pour at 10% and then learn the coconut wax maker's stated maximum is lower, the kilo makes more candles than you planned and the wax order is short. Ask for the figure on WhatsApp first. Ask for the CSI 468 figure.

When the kilo saves money

On the listed catalogue the kilo is usually about stock, not price. But for a minority of oils the saving is real, and several of them suit a coconut-soy range. Here are seven, with the saving per candle and across the whole kilo:

Saving = (100 g per gram − 1 kg per gram) × grams · 16 g per candle, 62.5 candles per kg at 8%
Kilos that genuinely cost less per gram
Oil 1 kg 100 g per gram 1 kg per gram Saving Per candle Across the kilo
Roasted Coconut ₹3,999.00 ₹4.95/g ₹4.00/g 19.2% ₹15.22 ₹951.00
Mango Coconut ₹3,964.00 ₹5.00/g ₹3.96/g 20.7% ₹16.58 ₹1,036.00
Eucalyptus Spearmint ₹3,068.00 ₹3.54/g ₹3.07/g 13.3% ₹7.55 ₹472.00
British Rose ₹3,068.00 ₹3.42/g ₹3.07/g 10.3% ₹5.66 ₹354.00
Ylang Ylang Flower ₹5,310.00 ₹5.90/g ₹5.31/g 10.0% ₹9.44 ₹590.00
Jasmine ₹3,923.00 ₹4.30/g ₹3.92/g 8.8% ₹6.03 ₹377.00
Cinnamon Vanilla ₹4,554.80 ₹4.84/g ₹4.55/g 5.9% ₹4.53 ₹283.20

Roasted Coconut and Mango Coconut are the obvious coconut-soy candidates: both are coconut-named and both save about a fifth by the kilo. Eucalyptus Spearmint, British Rose and Ylang Ylang save 10–13%. For these, a kilo of a proven seller is both cheaper and safer. For the rest of the catalogue, the picture is different:

Flat or fractionally dearer at 1 kg · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Kilos that save nothing per gram
Oil 100 g per gram 1 kg per gram Saving Verdict
Jasmine Coconut Spa Ceylon ₹7.99/g ₹8.00/g -0.1% Buy for stock, not price
Sandalwood ₹5.03/g ₹5.03/g 0.0% Buy for stock, not price
Love Spell ₹4.49/g ₹4.50/g -0.2% Buy for stock, not price
Pomegranate Splash ₹3.99/g ₹4.00/g -0.2% Buy for stock, not price
Argued against our own interest, plainly. We would like to sell you the kilo of every oil on this page. For Jasmine Coconut Spa Ceylon, Sandalwood, Love Spell and Pomegranate Splash, ten 100 g bottles cost the same or slightly less than the kilo per gram. Buy those kilos only when you need the stock in one bottle. If the scent is still unproven, 100 g is the cheaper risk at the same rate.

The stock check

A kilo you cannot reorder is a scent you cannot keep. Check the stock line before a kilo goes on your label.

On the pull date, 73 oils were in stock at 1 kg. Nineteen oils listed a kilo that was out of stock. Some of those still had smaller sizes in stock, which is fine for testing and not fine for a production plan built on kilos. Here are eight of them:

1 kg out of stock on 24 September 2026 · smaller sizes in stock shown

Wild Berry Out of stock 50 g, 100 g

Stock changes, and the product page is always the authority. If a scent you want is out of stock at 1 kg, ask on WhatsApp for a restock date before you build a range on it — and have a second-choice scent tested in case the date slips. The same logic applies to wax: order the full CSI 468 quantity with the oil, not after.

Where a kilo goes wrong

Most kilo problems in coconut soy are not about the oil at all. They come from buying the oil and the wax as if they were the same size, from committing a kilo to a load nobody has confirmed, or from buying a kilo of a scent that has not yet sold. Each has a simple fix.

A kilo of oil, a kilo of wax. It looks like a balanced order. At 8%, a kilo of CSI 468 makes 5.43 candles and uses 87.0 g of oil, leaving about 913 g of oil on the shelf. Size the wax from the oil: 11.5 kg of wax per kilo of oil at 8%, plus 3–5% for pour loss and tests.

Two other habits help. Keep the kilo sealed, cool and out of direct light between pours — general practice for fragrance oils, not a CSI specification — and decant a working bottle rather than opening the kilo every session. And label the kilo with its purchase date and batch details so you can match production candles to the oil lot if a customer ever asks. If you run two coconut waxes, remember that each may have a different stated maximum; the same kilo can make a different number of candles in each.

A costed 1 kg production kit

Here is everything needed to turn one kilo of Roasted Coconut into 62 coconut-soy candles of 200 g at an 8% costing load, with a 4% wax allowance (11,960 g needed).

You finish with 592 g of wax, 38 wicks and 3 jars spare. With a kilo of a flat-priced oil instead, the oil line is the only change.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A page about buying the kilo is where a supplier would say the kilo is always the smart buy. On our listed prices it usually is not, so we have named the oils where it saves money, the ones where it saves nothing, and the ones whose kilo was out of stock.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026. Eco Thin C1 100-pack pricing comes from the 25 September 2026 wick pull; jar prices were verified on 10 September 2026. Candle counts, wax quantities, savings and kit totals are plain arithmetic, shown to two decimals.

The 8% costing load, the 6–10% test range and the 4% wax allowance are working assumptions. No fragrance ceiling is published in our data for any coconut wax. Stock is as found on the pull date and changes. For kilo stock, the wax maker's stated maximum, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA documentation, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.
