When should I ask? Now. On our working schedule, production oil should be in hand by Mon 5 Oct. A quote you receive after that date is a quote for next year.
What wholesale means at CSI
Most candle suppliers use "wholesale" loosely. At CSI it helps to separate two things. The listed catalogue shows every oil in up to five sizes, from 15 g to 1 kg, with prices and stock status. Anyone can buy any in-stock pack, in any number, with no stated minimum. The quote route covers anything the catalogue does not: a larger single-oil quantity, a mixed order across many oils, or oil, wax, wicks and jars together. Quotes happen on WhatsApp. No discount percentage, tier table or "manufacturer price" is published, and this page will not invent one.
That matters for Diwali planning. On the listed catalogue, bigger packs are often not cheaper per gram. Across the whole collection, 52 of the 91 oils listing both 100 g and 1 kg are within 1% per gram, and only 24 save 5% or more at the kilo. Among festive oils, Sandalwood and Woody Oud are flat from 100 g to 1 kg, while Jasmine saves 8.8% and Cinnamon Vanilla 5.9%. So a wholesale quote is not automatically cheaper than the listed packs. It might be. It might simply be the same prices, packed and invoiced together. Either can be worth having.

What to send
A wholesale enquiry is only as fast as its first message. A message that says "need Diwali oils in bulk, please share price" gets a question back, and every round trip costs days you do not have in late September. Send the eight items below in one message and the quote can be prepared without a follow-up.

Two of the eight deserve emphasis. The in-hand date is the most important number in the message. A quote with no date attached tells you the price and nothing about whether the oil will reach you in time. Ask CSI to confirm dispatch and delivery against that date for your pincode. The documents matter if you sell to shops or corporate clients, who increasingly ask for an MSDS and an IFRA certificate per fragrance. Ask for them with the quote, so they arrive with the oil rather than after a client has asked.
The baseline a quote is judged against
The scenario here is a small manufacturer's Diwali run of 1,500 candles in six festive oils: Sandalwood 360, Cinnamon Vanilla 300, Woody Oud 240, Jasmine 240, Raat Ki Rani 180 and Dark Vanilla Oud 180. Each is a 200 g candle at 8%, 16 g of oil, with 5% added for pour loss and test burns as a working assumption. The baseline buys each oil in the cheapest in-stock mix of listed 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg packs.

The baseline for the oil is ₹1,27,299.20. The last column is the one to hold a quote against. If a quote gives Sandalwood at less than ₹5,026.80 a kilo, it beats the listed packs. If it gives the same, you are paying listed prices for a consolidated order, which may still be worth it. If it is higher, ask why: a different pack format or a dispatch arrangement might explain it. Compare oil by oil, not only the total, so one line cannot hide another.

When to ask
Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026. On this cluster's working schedule, stock is ready to sell on Sun 25 Oct, production pours run Tue 6 Oct to Mon 12 Oct, and the oil must be in hand by Mon 5 Oct. Working back from the in-hand date, the wholesale route needs time for the quote, your comparison, payment, dispatch and delivery. CSI does not publish response or delivery times on this page, and we will not guess them. The practical answer is to send the enquiry as soon as your quantities are known, and to state the in-hand date in the first message.
Three timing traps catch festive buyers. First, asking for a quote before the quantities are settled, then changing them, which restarts the quote. Second, waiting for a quote on the oil before ordering wax, wicks and jars, then finding one of them has become the late item. Ask for everything together. Third, assuming restocks. Popular festive sizes can sell through in October, and restocks that late cannot be counted on. If a scent is central to your run, secure it early even if you are still finalising the smaller lines.

The listed-price baseline for the whole run is ₹4,16,059.20, or ₹277.37 per candle for materials. Oil is ₹1,27,299.20, 30.6% of it. Labour, packaging, freight and GST are extra. On a run this size, the wax choice moves the total too. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at ₹2,537.00 per 5 kg would cost about ₹1,47,146.00 for the same weight in 5 kg bags, but it is rated up to 10% fragrance load rather than 13%. Natural Soy Pearl Wax is ₹2,124.00 per 5 kg, about ₹1,23,192.00, and no fragrance ceiling is quoted for it in this series. Test any wax change before a festive run. Ask for the wax in the same quote.
