When a 1 kg pack makes sense for a Hyderabad maker

A 1 kg pack is the right buy when three things are true: the oil has passed a test burn in your wax and jar, you expect to sell that scent steadily, and you have a cool, dark shelf to keep it on. If any of those is missing, 100 g or 500 g is the better buy.

A worked example

Example: a Banjara Hills boutique building an oud-and-rose range, 300 × 200 g black glass jar. At 8%, each candle takes 16.0 g of oil, so the order needs 4.80 kg. That is 5 kilograms (rounded up) — split across scents if the order is not single-scent. With Woody Oud at ₹4,531.20/kg, the oil for the whole order is about ₹21,750.

What Hyderabad changes about buying a kilogram

Hyderabad is hot and dry in April–May with highs near 40°C, a June–September monsoon and mild, dry winters. Plan stock around April–May. A candle loaded right at the maximum can sweat in a hot storeroom; the fix is headroom in the formula and a cool shelf, not a different oil.

Hyderabad has a long attar tradition, so oud, rose and bakhoor-style profiles are familiar territory — premium oud candles are an easier story to tell here than in many cities.
