Buy Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles in India
Aktie
What size should I buy? Count candles. A 200 g soy candle at 8% takes 16 g, so 100 g makes 6.25 candles and 1 kg makes 62.50. Test in 15 g, produce from 100 g, and move up only when reorders demand it. See the size table.
Is there a minimum order? The listed store has no stated minimum order. The smallest listed size of each oil is effectively the minimum: 15 g for 51 oils in stock, 50 g or 100 g for the others.
Can I get an IFRA certificate and MSDS? Yes, on request. Ask on WhatsApp when you order, naming each oil. We do not quote an individual oil's IFRA percentage or flash point on blog pages. Those belong on the certificate.
Pick the pack by the candle count
Soy makers usually know how many candles they want to pour, not how many grams of oil that takes. The conversion is simple: oil = candle weight × load. A 200 g candle at 8% is 16 g of oil. At 10%, which is CSI 464's ceiling, it is 20 g. At 13%, the ceiling for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, it is 26 g. Divide the pack weight by that figure and you have candles per pack. The table does it for every size CSI lists, with the median price of the in-stock oils at each size.
| Pack | Oils in stock | Median price | Candles at 8% (16 g) | At 10% (20 g) | At 13% (26 g, Chunks only) | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15 g | 51 | ₹106.20 | 0.94 | 0.75 | 0.58 | Testing only. Carries a median 23.1% per-gram premium over 100 g. |
| 50 g | 81 | ₹342.20 | 3.12 | 2.50 | 1.92 | Tester for oils with no 15 g; small top-ups. Usually the same per gram as 100 g. |
| 100 g | 79 | ₹629.00 | 6.25 | 5.00 | 3.85 | The production size for most small soy brands. |
| 500 g | 64 | ₹2,781.50 | 31.25 | 25.00 | 19.23 | Proven scents with monthly reorders. Check the per-gram price: it is not always lower. |
| 1 kg | 73 | ₹5,999.00 | 62.50 | 50.00 | 38.46 | Stock security for bestsellers. Saves 5% or more per gram for only 24 oils. |
Two things follow. First, a 15 g tester is less than one candle at any sensible load, so it is for test pots and small tins, not production. Second, the jump from 100 g to 500 g is a jump from about six candles to about thirty. If you sell twenty candles of a scent a month, the 500 g lasts a month and a half and the 100 g lasts about ten days. That reorder rhythm, not an expected discount, is what should move you up a size.
Load affects all of this. Running Chunks at 13% instead of 8% cuts candles per 100 g from 6.25 to 3.85. That is a 62.5% rise in oil per candle. It is sometimes the right test for a quiet oil, but it is a cost decision as much as a scent decision. Fragrance oils for soy at 6–8% works through that trade-off. Strong fragrance oils for soy covers when a higher load is worth testing.
Read the price per gram, not the bottle
Dividing each pack price by its grams shows where buying bigger actually saves money. On CSI's catalogue, the one reliable step is from 15 g to 50 g or 100 g. Across the 55 oils that list both 15 g and 100 g, the 15 g carries a median 23.1% premium per gram. The spread is wide, though, from −0.6% to +123.8%, so check each oil you buy. Here are six, chosen to show the range:
| Oil | 15 g | 50 g | 100 g | 1 kg | 15 g premium over 100 g |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mahogany Shea | ₹10.93 | ₹6.61 | ₹4.89 | ₹4.89 | 123.8% |
| Fresh Strawberries | ₹7.55 | ₹4.25 | ₹3.78 | ₹3.54 | 100.0% |
| Gardenia | ₹7.00 | ₹4.46 | ₹4.33 | ₹4.33 | 61.7% |
| Chocolate Fudge | ₹6.21 | ₹3.96 | ₹3.96 (out of stock) | ₹3.96 | 56.7% |
| Lavender | ₹7.00 | ₹5.40 | ₹5.40 | ₹5.22 | 29.7% |
| Eucalyptus Spearmint | ₹4.56 | ₹4.25 | ₹3.54 | ₹3.07 | 28.9% |
The pattern is clear. Mahogany Shea costs ₹10.93 a gram at 15 g and ₹4.89 at 100 g, more than double. For Fresh Strawberries the 15 g costs exactly twice the 100 g rate. For Lavender and Eucalyptus Spearmint the step is under 30%. Above 100 g, most oils are flat or nearly flat. For 52 of the 91 oils listing both 100 g and 1 kg, the kilo is within 1% of the 100 g per gram.
Now the exceptions, both ways. Twenty-four oils give a saving of 5% or more at 1 kg, led by Citronella at 62.3%, Honeydew Melon at 22.0% and Mango Coconut at 20.7%. A few kilos cost fractionally more than the 100 g, including Love Spell (−0.2%). And watch for oddities in the middle of the ladder. Saffron Cedarwood is ₹5.17 a gram at 500 g but ₹6.87 at 1 kg, so two 500 g bottles cost ₹5,168.40 against ₹6,867.60 for the kilo. The only way to catch that is to divide every size.
Check stock at your reorder size
Seven of the 93 oils had no size in stock on 24 September 2026. Several more were missing exactly the size a soy brand would reorder. This matters more than it looks. A tester arrives, the candle sells, you go to reorder at 100 g or 1 kg, and the size is not there. The table lists the gaps on the pull date that most affect a soy maker. Stock changes, so check the live product page before you order.
| Oil | Out of stock | Buyable sizes | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chocolate Fudge | 100 g | 15 g, 50 g, 500 g, 1 kg | Buy 50 g multiples (same ₹3.96/g) or step to 500 g |
| Vetiver | 1 kg | 15 g to 500 g | 500 g at ₹5.80/g is the largest buyable |
| Freshwater (BBW Inspired) | 500 g, 1 kg | 15 g, 50 g, 100 g | Production beyond 100 g needs a restock date |
| Moca Coffee | 15 g, 500 g, 1 kg | 50 g, 100 g | No tester size; test from 50 g at ₹560.00 |
| Sacred Sandal Ember | 100 g, 1 kg | 500 g only | Only the ₹3,999.00 500 g can be bought |
| Dahlia (BBW Inspired) | 100 g, 500 g, 1 kg | 50 g only | Fine to test, not yet a production oil |
| Rajnigandha, Spiced Rum, Mogra, Baccarat Rouge 540 Inspired, Regal Royal Oud, Frankincense and Tonka, Acqua Di Gio Inspired | Every size | None | Do not build a range around these until restocked |
Two practical rules follow. Launch hero scents only from oils in stock at your production size, whether that is 100 g, 500 g or 1 kg. If an oil you love is missing a size, ask on WhatsApp for a restock date before you print its label. And keep one bottle ahead: reorder a proven scent when the last full bottle is opened, not when it runs dry. During the run-up to Diwali on 8 November, popular sizes are the ones most likely to go short.
Paperwork to ask for
Soy candles sold through a shop, a gifting company or online marketplaces come with questions: is there a GST invoice for the inputs, what are the safety data, is the fragrance used within IFRA limits? Answer them from the start by asking for the documents with the order. CSI provides GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation on request.
| Document | What it is | When you need it | How to get it from CSI |
|---|---|---|---|
| GST invoice | Tax invoice for the order | Claiming input tax credit; any B2B sale | Ask when you order on WhatsApp |
| MSDS | Material safety data sheet for the oil | Safe storage and handling; retailer and export questions | Ask per oil on WhatsApp |
| IFRA certificate | The oil's usage limits by product category | Selling to retailers, gifting clients or abroad | Ask per oil on WhatsApp. We do not quote IFRA % on blog pages |
| Wax load rating | The wax maker's stated maximum fragrance load | Setting your load | Chunks up to 13% · CSI 464 up to 10% · others on the product page |
| Product page | Live price and stock by size | Before every order | Linked from this page; always authoritative |
One point on the IFRA certificate. It gives the maximum use level of that oil in each product category. It is a separate figure from your wax's load ceiling and can be lower or higher. Use whichever is more restrictive. We do not publish IFRA percentages or flash points for individual oils on these pages. They belong on the oil's certificate, and that certificate is the document you show a buyer. Ask for it per oil on WhatsApp.
A first soy order, costed
Here is a realistic first paid order: 24 container candles in three scents, eight of each, 200 g at 8% in CSI 464. Each scent needs 128 g of oil, or 134.4 g with a 5% allowance. The whole run needs 4,416 g of wax before allowance. Here is how the buying decisions play out.
| Scent | Oil rate paid | Oil per candle | Wax + wick + jar | Material cost per candle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fresh Strawberries | ₹3.93/g | ₹62.93 | ₹170.06 | ₹232.99 |
| Gardenia | ₹4.37/g | ₹69.98 | ₹170.06 | ₹240.04 |
| Chocolate Fudge | ₹3.96/g | ₹63.44 | ₹170.06 | ₹233.50 |
Material cost covers oil, wax, wick and jar. It excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST. The blended 100 g + 50 g rate is slightly higher than the 100 g rate alone, because the 50 g costs a little more per gram for these two oils. That is the price of buying the grams you need rather than a whole second 100 g. Either way, all three scents land within about ₹7 a candle of each other, which lets you sell them at one price.

| Wick Centering Device, pack of 5 | 1 | ₹118.00 | ₹118.00 | reusable |
| Total | ₹6,442.74 | 24 candles |
That is ₹268.45 a candle across the whole basket, including the centring devices you keep. Leftovers carry forward: about 363 g of CSI 464 after allowance, roughly 16 to 22 g of each oil depending on your pour loss, one jar and six wicks. If you would rather pour in Luxury Soy Wax Chunks for the higher 13% ceiling, four 1 kg bags plus one 500 g (₹2,695.00) or a 5 kg bag (₹2,995.00) replaces the CSI 464 line. CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A buying guide from a supplier could simply push the biggest pack. This one shows where our own bigger packs do not save money, flags the sizes that were out of stock on the pull date, and names the one oil where the kilo costs more per gram than the 500 g.
Every oil and wax price on this page comes from CSI live listings pulled on 24 September 2026. The jar, wick and centring-device prices were verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026, and the 20-wick pack comes from the 25 September pull. Out-of-stock sizes are shown as out of stock, never as buyable. Per-gram, per-candle and basket figures are arithmetic on those prices, shown to two decimals.
The 200 g candle, 8% load, 5% pour allowance and 24-candle order are working assumptions for illustration. Load ceilings (Chunks up to 13%, CSI 464 up to 10%) are the wax makers' stated formulation maximums, not regulatory limits.
