CSI Seasonal Buying · Summer in India
Indian summer changes what a candle should smell like: bright tops, light bases, very little sugar. Here are six CSI oils ranked for April to June, what each costs per candle, and how to test them in a hot room.

the six ranked summer oils × 50 g · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What are the best fragrance oils for summer candles in India? Light, bright, low-sugar oils: fresh green, citrus, citrus-herbal and aquatic first, with one or two juicy fruits for gifting. Our ranking of CSI oils for April to June: 1 Cucumber Green Tea, 2 Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil, 3 Lemongrass and Lime, 4 Blue Ocean, 5 Peach Melon Berry, 6 Mango Coconut.

Why does summer change what you pour? Three reasons. Heavy vanilla, spice and oud read thick in a hot room; soft container waxes are at their most vulnerable in May heat and in transit; and humid coastal air sits on a scent. Summer rewards oils whose pages state a clean, light base rather than a creamy, sweet one.

What does a summer oil cost per candle? At 8% in a 150 g candle (12 g of oil), from ₹40.80 (Citrus Lemon at the 50 g price) to ₹79.20 (Lemongrass and Lime). The whole ranked six at 50 g costs ₹1,396.43.

What load should a summer candle use? Test at 6%, 8% and 10%, inside the lower of the wax's ceiling and the oil page's stated maximum. In summer, in our judgement, keep the lowest load that passes rather than the highest the wax allows.
The short answer
The summer rule: bright top, light base, little sugar. The page's stated base notes are the best predictor of how a scent will sit in a hot room.
The top three: Cucumber Green Tea (₹3.53/g at 50 g), Citrus Lemon (₹3.40/g) and Lemongrass and Lime (₹6.60/g). All three pages state a candle load that tops out at 10%, and every size is in stock on 24 September 2026.
The heat rule: use a container wax with a stated ceiling (CSI 464 up to 10%, CSI 468 and Luxury Soy Wax Chunks up to 13%), store and ship finished candles out of the sun, and do not use extra oil to fight the heat.
The honest gap: the cheapest oils here are also the most summer-appropriate. The premium citrus oils (Tangerine at ₹11.98/g) do not earn their price in a first summer line.
Summer scent weight: from airy to dense Placed by how much base each product page states. Number in the circle = rank in this guide. THE APRIL–JUNE ZONE · airy to medium SWEETER · evenings, AC rooms, gifts 2 Citrus Lemon ₹3.40/g at 50 g 1 Cucumber Green Tea ₹3.53/g at 50 g 3 Lemongrass and Lime ₹6.60/g at 50 g 4 Blue Ocean ₹4.94/g at 50 g 6 Mango Coconut ₹5.00/g at 50 g 5 Peach Melon Berry ₹4.46/g at 50 g AIRY · citrus top, little or no base DENSE · creamy, sweet base Base notes as stated on each page: 2. Citrus Lemon: no base stated 1. Cucumber Green Tea: clean musk, light woods 3. Lemongrass and Lime: cedarwood, soft musk 4. Blue Ocean: driftwood, musk 6. Mango Coconut: creamy coconut 5. Peach Melon Berry: vanilla, coconut Placement is editorial judgement from stated notes, not a measurement. CSI live pricing, verified 24 September 2026.
The six ranked summer oils placed from airy to dense by the base notes each CSI page states. The shaded zone is where we would build an April–June line; the two sweeter fruits to the right earn a place as evening and gifting scents rather than as the backbone.
Straight answer
Which CSI fragrance oils make the best summer candles for Indian customers?
Build the summer line on Cucumber Green Tea and Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil: both have a light, bright structure that suits a hot room, both state a candle load that tops out at 10%, and at ₹3.53 and ₹3.40 per gram at 50 g they are among the least expensive oils CSI sells. Add Lemongrass and Lime as the more grown-up citrus, because its page states a cedarwood and soft musk base that holds after the lime has gone. For range, add one aquatic (Blue Ocean) and one juicy fruit (Peach Melon Berry, or Mango Coconut for the Indian mango season, April to June). Keep vanilla, cinnamon and oud for winter. The ranking below is based on stated notes, stated candle load, per-gram price at 50 g, stock depth and base weight; CSI has no throw measurements and we have not invented any.
One line: in an Indian summer, the scent that wins is the one that still smells light at 3 pm in a closed room, so rank by base weight first and price second.
Start with the ranked number one. Cucumber Green Tea 50 g is ₹176.41 (₹3.53 per gram), enough for four 150 g candles at 8%. Its page describes crisp cucumber and green tea over a clean musk and light woods base.

What an Indian summer does to a candle

A candle that sells in December can fail in May without a single thing changing in the jar.

Indian summer, roughly April to June before the southwest monsoon arrives, is, in our experience, one of the harder seasons to sell candles in and one of the easiest to get wrong. The customer is not asking for less fragrance; they are asking for a different kind. Three things change at once, and each one pushes you towards a particular type of oil.

1. Heat changes what smells pleasant

A warm room already feels heavy. Put a vanilla-caramel or clove-heavy candle in it and the scent reads as thick rather than cosy; the same candle can feel right in December. Summer customers reach for scents that feel like relief: citrus peel, cucumber, green tea, lemongrass, sea air, cut fruit. This is not a law of chemistry. In our experience it is the pattern behind most summer ranges, and it is why this page ranks oils by how light their stated base is. An oil whose page promises "creamy vanilla and sweet sugar" underneath is a harder summer sell than one ending on "clean musk, light woods".

2. Heat is hard on soft container wax

Container soy waxes are soft by design, which is what gives a jar candle its smooth top and full melt pool. That same softness makes a finished candle vulnerable in a parked car, a courier van, a shop window or a sunny sill in May. We do not have melt-point figures for CSI's waxes in our data, so we will not quote one; what we can say is that a candle stored in direct sun or in a closed vehicle can soften, pull away from the glass or show oil on the surface. The practical answers are storage and shipping (below), and not overloading the oil, which is covered in the wax section.

3. Humidity and air-conditioning change the room

On the coast the air is heavy and wet from before the monsoon; inland it is dry and fierce; in cities, in our experience, much candle burning happens in closed, air-conditioned rooms. A closed AC bedroom is small and still, so a strong, sweet candle fills it fast. That is another argument for bright, low-sugar oils in summer, and for testing at 6% as well as 8%. How the seasons differ, and what monsoon humidity does to cure, is the subject of Best Fragrance Oils for Monsoon Candles in India.

Mistake: launching a summer line with last Diwali's best-seller in a new label. Fix: keep one warm scent for evenings if you must, but build the line on oils whose pages state a bright top and a light base. The warm end belongs in Best Fragrance Oils for Winter Candles in India.

Which scent families work from April to June

Every CSI oil ranked below falls into one of five families. The table is the logic behind the ranking: which families suit summer, why, and what each one risks.

Summer families · mapped to real CSI oils
Five families that suit an Indian summer, and the risk each carries
Family Why it works in summer CSI oils (ranked ones in bold) The risk
Fresh green Reads cool and clean; tea and cucumber feel like relief in heat Cucumber Green Tea; Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil (herbal-cool) Can read "spa" rather than "summer" without a citrus or fruit partner
Citrus The universal summer signal; recognisable from the doorway Citrus Lemon; Juicy Orange; Tangerine; Zesty Lemon Fragrance Oil Citrus tops are volatile; an oil with no stated base can fade early in the burn
Citrus-herbal Citrus lift with a green, grown-up edge Lemongrass and Lime; Verbena Fragrance Oil Costs more per gram than plain citrus
Aquatic Sea air and ozone: beach-holiday association Blue Ocean; the Freshwater listing (brand-inspired, see below) Can read "bathroom" in a small room; test it at 6%
Juicy fruit Seasonal fruit, gifting, younger buyers Peach Melon Berry; Mango Coconut; Honeydew Melon Their stated bases are vanilla, sugar or coconut; sweeter than the rest of the line
A quick way to read a product page for summer
Look at the base notes, not the top. The top is what every citrus oil shares. The base is what will be in the room at hour two: "clean musk, light woods" and "cedarwood and soft musk" are summer bases; "creamy vanilla" and "sweet sugar" are summer-evening bases; "amber, patchouli, oud" are winter bases. Where a page lists no base at all (Citrus Lemon ends on a "tangy mandarin finish"), expect a bright but shorter-lived scent and test it harder.

The ranking: six CSI summer oils

Ranked on what we can show you, not on what we would like to sell you.

The basis: fit of the stated notes to hot-weather use (bright top, light base), whether the page states a candle load, price per gram at 50 g, stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026, and base weight. We have no throw measurements, so no oil is ranked on "strength". Candle counts assume a 150 g candle at 8% (12 g of oil). How to buy these in a priced summer basket is covered in Buy Summer Candle Fragrance Oils in India; here we only rank.

1
fresh green · summer backbone · rank 1
Cucumber Green Tea
The most complete summer structure on the list at almost the lowest price. The page lists "Top Notes: Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves | Heart Notes: Delicate jasmine, hints of lemon | Base Notes: Clean musk, light woods": bright on top, a quiet heart and a base that is present but not sweet. That is exactly the shape a hot room wants. The page says "we recommend using 8-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax"; the wording is loose, so we apply it as a percentage of total candle weight and test 8% and 10% with 6% as a control. Every size is in stock. Limitation: on its own it can read spa rather than summer; it is at its best in a line with a citrus and a fruit beside it.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹176.41 ₹3.53 4
100 g ₹352.82 ₹3.53 8
500 g ₹1,663.80 ₹3.33 41
1 kg ₹3,327.60 ₹3.33 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹42.34 at 50 g, ₹39.93 at 1 kg (5.7% less per gram). Buy Cucumber Green Tea
2
citrus · the summer signal · rank 2
Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil
The cheapest per gram of the six at every size from 50 g upward, and the most recognisable summer scent there is. The page describes "zesty lemon and lime top notes, bright grapefruit and orange heart, and a tangy mandarin finish" and states "candles (6-10%)". It ranks second, not first, because its page lists no woods or musk underneath: the whole oil is citrus, so it relies on its top notes, which are the first thing a burning candle spends. Limitation: test for how long the scent holds at the doorway, not only how bright it is when lit. The 15 g is 60% dearer per gram than the 50 g, so skip it.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹81.42 ₹5.43 1
50 g ₹170.00 ₹3.40 4
100 g ₹300.00 ₹3.00 8
500 g ₹1,420.00 ₹2.84 41
1 kg ₹2,832.00 ₹2.83 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹40.80 at 50 g, ₹33.98 at 1 kg — the lowest of the six. Buy Citrus Lemon
3
citrus-herbal · the grown-up citrus · rank 3
Lemongrass and Lime
Lemongrass and Lime fixes Citrus Lemon's weakness: its page states a base. "Zesty lime and fresh lemongrass top notes, light ginger and herbal middle notes, and subtle cedarwood and soft musk base", with "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles". Lemongrass is a familiar Indian kitchen and garden note, which makes it an easy sell to Indian customers who find sweet fruit candles childish. Limitation: it is the dearest of the six at 50 g (₹6.60/g), and the 500 g and 1 kg are the same per gram (₹5.20), so there is no reason to buy the 1 kg over two 500 g packs (₹5,200.00, the same as the 1 kg at ₹5,200.00).
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹116.52 ₹7.77 1
50 g ₹330.00 ₹6.60 4
100 g ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8
500 g ₹2,600.00 ₹5.20 41
1 kg ₹5,200.00 ₹5.20 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹79.20 at 50 g, ₹62.40 at 500 g or 1 kg. Buy Lemongrass and Lime
4
aquatic · beach and sea air · rank 4
Blue Ocean Fragrance Oil
The only aquatic on the list with a stated candle load: "candles (up to 10%)". The page describes "sea salt and ozone top notes, jasmine and lily of the valley heart, and driftwood and musk base", which gives it a real base and a holiday association that suits April to June. Limitation: in a small, closed AC room an aquatic can read "bathroom freshener" rather than "sea", so compare 6% against 8% before committing. A pricing fact to know: Blue Ocean gets fractionally dearer per gram as the pack gets bigger (₹4.94 at 50 g, ₹4.96 at 1 kg, 0.3% more), so a bigger bottle is not a saving.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹247.00 ₹4.94 4
100 g ₹495.00 ₹4.95 8
500 g ₹2,478.00 ₹4.96 41
1 kg ₹4,956.00 ₹4.96 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹59.28 at 50 g, ₹59.47 at 1 kg. Buy Blue Ocean
5
juicy fruit · gifting and evenings · rank 5
Peach Melon Berry
The summer fruit for gifting and younger buyers. Notes: "Top Notes: Juicy peach, ripe cantaloupe | Heart Notes: Sweet strawberry, succulent watermelon | Base Notes: Creamy vanilla, hint of coconut"; the page says "we recommend using 8-10% fragrance oil per weight of wax" (again loose wording; we test it as a share of total weight). Watermelon and cantaloupe are summer fruit in India, which gives the candle a natural story. Limitation: the vanilla-coconut base is, with Mango Coconut, the sweetest in the ranking; in our judgement it suits evening and gift sets rather than an all-day candle in May. From 100 g upward it is flat at ₹4.18/g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹81.42 ₹5.43 1
50 g ₹223.02 ₹4.46 4
100 g ₹417.72 ₹4.18 8
500 g ₹2,088.60 ₹4.18 41
1 kg ₹4,177.20 ₹4.18 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹53.52 at 50 g, ₹50.13 at 1 kg (6.3% less per gram). Buy Peach Melon Berry
6
tropical fruit · mango season · rank 6
Mango Coconut Fragrance Oil
Mango is the Indian summer fruit, and April to June is its season, so this is the most "Indian" summer candle you can pour. The page describes "the sweet, juicy aroma of ripe mango with creamy, luxurious coconut". It ranks last for two honest reasons: the page does not state a candle load, so you work inside the wax ceiling (test 6%, 8% and 10% in CSI 464, whose ceiling is 10%), and the stated profile is sweet and creamy, the heaviest of the six. Limitation: ask on WhatsApp for a recommended load before a production pour. The 500 g is 20.7% cheaper per gram than the 100 g, the biggest step between neighbouring sizes from 50 g upward in this ranking (the 15 g to 50 g steps on Cucumber Green Tea and Citrus Lemon are bigger, which is why we skip the 15 g).
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹250.00 ₹5.00 4
100 g ₹500.00 ₹5.00 8
500 g ₹1,982.00 ₹3.96 41
1 kg ₹3,964.00 ₹3.96 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹60.00 at 50 g, ₹47.57 at 500 g. Buy Mango Coconut
If you can only launch three summer scents: ranks 1, 2 and 3 (fresh, citrus, citrus-herbal) make a coherent line with no sweet scent in it. If your buyers are gifting: swap rank 3 for Peach Melon Berry. If you sell on Indian identity: swap rank 2 for Mango Coconut, once its load is confirmed.

What each ranked oil costs per candle

The oil in a summer candle is a small share of the total, and the gaps between these six are smaller than the gap between jars. The table puts the oil cost per 150 g candle at 8% side by side at the 50 g and 1 kg prices. The full per-gram ladder for every seasonal oil is in Wholesale Seasonal Candle Fragrance Oils in India.

6 Mango Coconut Fragrance Oil ₹250.00 ₹60.00 ₹47.57 no load stated; 500 g = 1 kg per gram
3 Lemongrass and Lime ₹330.00 ₹79.20 ₹62.40 21.2% cheaper

Three things the numbers say

1. Rank and price mostly agree. The two cheapest oils are ranks 1 and 2. That is not a coincidence we engineered; light citrus and green accords are simply among the least expensive oils in the catalogue. For a summer line, the best-fitting oils are also the easiest on margin.

2. Paying more buys structure, not strength. Lemongrass and Lime costs ₹38.40 more oil per candle than Citrus Lemon at 50 g. What that buys, going by the page, is a stated cedarwood-and-musk base. Whether that is worth it is exactly what the burn test in this guide is for.

3. Bulk saves little per candle. Citrus Lemon's 1 kg saves ₹6.82 per candle against the 50 g. Blue Ocean's 1 kg costs ₹0.19 more per candle than its 50 g. We sell the 1 kg. For your first summer, don't buy it; buy 50 g, find the winner, then scale. A worked example, Citrus Lemon at 8% in a 150 g clear jar with golden lid (₹94.40 per jar from the pack of 10), 138 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (₹70.02) and a C1 wick (₹5.90): ₹211.12 in materials. The same candle with Lemongrass and Lime is ₹249.52. Both exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST.

Argued against our own interest: the premium citrus oils are not better summer buys. Tangerine is ₹11.98 per gram at 50 g, about 3.5 times Citrus Lemon, with no candle load stated. Juicy Orange is ₹7.58 per gram, 2.2 times Citrus Lemon, though it does state "For candles, use at 8-10% in soy". Both have richer, layered notes on the page. Neither is the place to start a summer line; test them only once your core three have sold through.

Wax, load and heat: keeping a summer candle intact

The fragrance decides whether a summer candle sells. The wax and the load decide whether it arrives looking like one.

Two ceilings govern every load decision: the wax maker's stated maximum and the oil page's stated candle maximum. The lower one wins. Ceilings are formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and the maximum is not the best-performing load. For these six oils the arithmetic is simple.

Two ceilings · summer oils × CSI container waxes
The lower ceiling governs; test at 6%, 8% and 10% inside it
Oil Oil page states Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (up to 10%) Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (up to 13%) Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (up to 13%)
Cucumber Green Tea 8-10% (per pound of wax, loosely worded) 10% 10% 10%
Citrus Lemon 6-10% 10% 10% 10%
Lemongrass and Lime 6-10% 10% 10% 10%
Blue Ocean up to 10% 10% 10% 10%
Peach Melon Berry 8-10% (per weight of wax, loosely worded) 10% 10% 10%
Mango Coconut no candle load stated 10% (wax ceiling) 13% (wax ceiling) 13% (wax ceiling)

The lesson for summer: for five of the six oils the wax you choose makes no difference to the load you can use, because the oil page stops at 10%. Choose the wax for how it pours and finishes. CSI 464's page gives melt/pour at 80–90°C and up to 10%; CSI 468's page gives a pour of 58–60°C and up to 13%. CSI 468 costs ₹0.64 per gram at 10 kg against ₹0.51 for CSI 464, which is ₹17.89 more wax cost per 150 g candle (₹87.91 against ₹70.02). How these families behave in soy generally is covered in Premium Hotel Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles.

Why we would not push summer oils to 10%

In our judgement, summer is the season to keep the lowest load that passes the doorway test. The reason is practical, not regulatory. A heavier load is more oil sitting in a soft wax, and a warm shelf or courier van is where excess oil is most likely to show on the surface. Light citrus tops also do not become more pleasant at 10%; they become sharper. Price is the smaller argument: on Citrus Lemon, 10% instead of 6% moves the oil in a 150 g candle from ₹30.60 to ₹51.00 at the 50 g price.

Mistake: leaving finished candles in a sunny window, a parked car or an unshaded courier bag in May. Fix: store cured candles in a shaded, closed cupboard; pack them in a box inside the shipping carton; and tell buyers in hot cities to keep them out of direct sun. Keep one candle from every batch on your own shelf through a week of summer heat and look at the surface and the glass edge before you ship the rest.
Wick check
Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1), ₹59.00 for 10, and Thick (C2), ₹94.40 for 10, are starting points, not prescriptions. The right wick depends on your jar's inside diameter and the oil. Run a melt-pool test in the jar you will sell and choose from the Candle Wicks collection; a summer room is warm, so judge the melt pool at two to three hours in the room the customer will actually use.

Dry heat, humid coast, air-conditioned room

India does not have one summer. The same six oils suit all of it, but not in the same order. This section is judgement from the stated notes, not data; use it to decide which oil to lead with in which city.

One summer, three rooms · editorial judgement
Which ranked oil to lead with, by where the candle will burn
Where the candle burns What the room is like Lead with Hold back
North and Central India, April–June (Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Nagpur) Dry, very hot afternoons; burning happens in the evening or in AC rooms Citrus Lemon, Lemongrass and Lime Peach Melon Berry for daytime
Coastal cities (Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kochi) Humid through summer, then straight into the monsoon Cucumber Green Tea, Blue Ocean Mango Coconut at 10%; heavy sweetness sits in wet air
Air-conditioned bedrooms and offices anywhere Small, closed, cool air Cucumber Green Tea at 6–8% Anything sweet at the top of its range
Hill-station and holiday retail (April–June tourist season) Mild evenings, gift buyers Peach Melon Berry, Mango Coconut Nothing; this is where the fruits earn their place

When the rains arrive, roughly June to September, the fresh end of this list carries over into monsoon (Cucumber Green Tea and Lemongrass and Lime both appear in the monsoon family) and the fruits step back. Which oils to hold as core across two seasons is the job of Which Fragrance Oils Should a Candle Brand Stock for Summer, Monsoon and Winter?.

A summer-specific burn test

A normal burn test asks "do I like it and at what load?". A summer test adds two questions: does it still smell light in a warm room, and does the finished candle survive a hot shelf? Six steps, one oil at a time. You need a scale reading to 1 g, a thermometer and a notebook.

1
Pour three loads per oil by total weightFor a 150 g candle: 6% = 9 g oil + 141 g wax; 8% = 12 g + 138 g; 10% = 15 g + 135 g. Three candles use 36 g of oil, which is why a 50 g bottle, not a 15 g, is the test size. On Citrus Lemon that is ₹122.40 of oil for the set.
2
Cure identicallyNone of these six pages states a cure time. At least 48–72 hours is common practice, and longer for soy; test at day 3 and day 7, and never compare a three-day candle with a seven-day one.
3
Cold sniff in the heat of the dayLids off at 2 or 3 pm in a room without AC. Score each candle 1–5 for "light" and 1–5 for "pleasant". The oil that smells heavy cold in a warm room will smell heavier lit.
4
Burn in the room the customer will useOne candle per session for two to three hours. If your buyers burn in AC bedrooms, test in one with the door closed. Note what you smell from the doorway at 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours, and whether the scent turns sharp or sweet as the room warms.
5
Run a hot-shelf checkLeave one cured candle from each oil in the warmest indoor spot you have, out of direct sun, for a week. Look at the surface, the edge against the glass and the lid. A candle that shows oil or pulls away at 10% but not at 8% has told you its summer load.
6
Keep the lowest passing load, then rank for your cityFor each oil, keep the lowest load that scored well at the doorway and passed the shelf check. Then re-rank the survivors for where you sell, using the table above. Buy the winner in a larger size only after a retest candle at that load confirms it.
What to write down
Six columns: oil, load, day-7 cold sniff (light / pleasant, out of 10), doorway score at 1 hour (1–5), shelf check (pass / fail), notes. A summer winner scores high on "light" at the doorway, not only on "pleasant" from the jar.

A note on gaps: CSI does not list a watermelon-only, cucumber-only or coconut-water oil on 24 September 2026, and there is no "fresh linen" or laundry oil (see Fresh Linen Fragrance Oil for Candle Making). If a specific summer note is central to your plan, ask on WhatsApp rather than buying around it.

Summer 2027 runs roughly April to June. Test the ranked six in January or February 2027, decide by early March, and have cured stock on the shelf for the first hot week. The priced basket and dated order plan are in the summer buying guide; for stock checks at 50 g and 500 g, message us.

The CSI principle
In summer, rank by the base notes, not the top notes.
Every summer oil opens bright. What decides whether it sells in May is what the page says is left underneath: clean musk and light woods, or cream and sugar.
"A summer candle is judged at three in the afternoon in a warm room. Pour for that room, not for the cool shop you tested in."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the oils, wax, jars and wicks named here, and does not sell finished candles. This ranking puts two of our least expensive oils at the top, tells you not to buy the 1 kg for a first summer, and says plainly that our premium citrus oils are not the right place to start.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. Out-of-stock sizes are flagged as out of stock on that date and are never presented as buyable. Candle loads and notes are quoted from each product page; where a page does not state a candle load (Mango Coconut, Honeydew Melon, Tangerine), we say so.

The ranking, the scent-weight placement, the regional advice and the summer storage advice are our judgement; CSI has no throw or heat-stability measurements for these oils and none are implied. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Which fragrance is best for candles in summer in India?
Light, low-sugar scents: fresh green, citrus, citrus-herbal and aquatic. From CSI, our ranked top three are Cucumber Green Tea, Citrus Lemon and Lemongrass and Lime; all three state a candle load up to 10% and are in stock at every size on 24 September 2026.
Do soy candles melt in Indian summer heat?
A finished soy container candle can soften, pull from the glass or show oil on the surface if it is left in direct sun, a parked car or an unshaded courier bag. Store cured candles in a shaded cupboard, ship them boxed, and do not overload the oil. We do not quote melt points for CSI waxes because our data does not include them.
Is lemon fragrance oil good for candles?
Yes, and it is the cheapest summer oil at CSI: Citrus Lemon is ₹3.40 per gram at 50 g and states "candles (6-10%)". Its page lists no woods or musk base, so test how long the scent holds at the doorway as well as how bright it is when first lit.
Mango fragrance oil for candles in India — what should I know?
CSI's Mango Coconut is ₹250.00 for 50 g and ₹1,982.00 for 500 g. Its page does not state a candle load, so test 6%, 8% and 10% inside the wax ceiling (10% for Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464) and ask on WhatsApp before a production pour. Its profile is sweet and creamy, so it suits evening and gift candles best.
How much fragrance oil should I use in a summer soy candle?
Test 6%, 8% and 10% of total weight (9 g, 12 g and 15 g in a 150 g candle) and keep the lowest load that passes. For all five ranked oils with a stated load, the page maximum is 10%, which is also Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's ceiling.
Ocean fragrance oil for candles price in India?
Blue Ocean at CSI is ₹247.00 for 50 g (₹4.94/g) and ₹4,956.00 for 1 kg (₹4.96/g), so the larger size is fractionally dearer per gram. Its page states "candles (up to 10%)" and lists sea salt, ozone, jasmine, driftwood and musk.

Per-gram figures are price divided by grams, to two decimals.

Non-price figures: candle maths assume a 150 g candle with load as a percentage of total weight (8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts are floor(grams ÷ 12). Wax ceilings (CSI 464 up to 10%, CSI 468 and Luxury Soy Wax Chunks up to 13%) and pour temperatures are as stated on the wax pages and are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Per-candle costs are worked examples and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Seasons (summer roughly April–June, southwest monsoon roughly June–September) are approximate calendar facts, not forecasts. The ranking, scent-weight placement, regional advice and storage advice are editorial judgement.
