Five Fragrances for a Feminine Candle Collection

The crowded category. Five scents that stay recognisably inside it while replacing every obvious pick — smoked rose instead of rose, vanilla orange blossom instead of vanilla, raat ki rani instead of jasmine — with prices at 100g, 500g and 1kg.
₹4,183
all five at 100g · ≈31 candles of 200g · CSI live pricing, August 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Which five fragrances build a feminine collection? Five territories, each one a deliberate swap away from the obvious pick: Smoked Rose Royale (structured floral, ₹799/100g), Vanilla Orange Blossom (anchored gourmand, ₹829/100g), Raat Ki Rani (white floral with Indian identity, ₹700/100g), Neroli Signature Grade (fresh-bright, ₹799/100g) and Dahlia BBW Inspired (soft musk, ₹1,056/100g). All five at 100g: ₹4,183, roughly 31 candles of 200g at an 8% load.

Why not rose and vanilla? Because everybody already sells them. In this category the commercial problem is differentiation, not selection — the scents are easy to find and impossible to own. Keep the shape the buyer searches for; change the material underneath it.

What does one of these candles cost to make? ₹271.68 to ₹332.74 in materials for a 200g soy candle, which supports a retail ladder of ₹799 to ₹1,049.

Will they discolour white wax? Four of the five will not — straight florals are the safest fragrances in soy for colour, which is why this is the one collection you can sell in clear glass with undyed wax. The vanilla one is the exception.
The short answer
Buy: Smoked Rose Royale, Vanilla Orange Blossom, Raat Ki Rani, Neroli Signature Grade and Dahlia BBW Inspired — one per territory, 100g each, ₹4,183 total.
Why these five: each is a one-step swap from the scent every Indian candle brand already stocks. You keep the search intent and lose the sameness.
Then: pour in clear glass with undyed wax, run the delicate florals at 9–10% and the indolic ones at 7–8%, cure 14 to 21 days, and build the range around the gifting calendar rather than around pink.
Five territories, ranked by how many buyers already understand them GOURMAND · Vanilla Orange Blossom · ₹829/100g — the widest door into the range FRESH-BRIGHT · Neroli Signature Grade · ₹799/100g — clean, ungendered, year-round WHITE FLORAL · Raat Ki Rani · ₹700/100g — Indian recall, instant emotion STRUCTURED FLORAL · Smoked Rose Royale · ₹799/100g — the signature SOFT MUSK · Dahlia · ₹1,056/100g — the repeat buy
Width is how easily a first-time buyer understands the label, not how good the candle is. The vanilla accord sells itself from the product title; the musk sells itself only after somebody has lived with it for a week. A crowded category needs both — a wide door at the top of the ladder and a narrow, ownable scent at the bottom that brings the customer back.
Straight answer
Which five fragrances should a feminine candle collection be built on?
Five distinct territories, each chosen as a deliberate one-step swap away from the obvious pick, at 100g each for ₹4,183: Smoked Rose Royale (₹799) as the structured floral, instead of a plain rose; Vanilla Orange Blossom (₹829) as the anchored gourmand, instead of a straight vanilla; Raat Ki Rani (₹700) as the white floral, instead of a generic jasmine; Neroli Signature Grade (₹799) as the fresh-bright, instead of cherry blossom; and Dahlia BBW Inspired (₹1,056) as the soft musk, instead of a generic pink fruity-floral. The category is crowded, not difficult. Anyone can list five feminine scents in thirty seconds — and that is precisely the problem, because so can every competitor, and the answer they reach is almost always the same five. Your constraint here is not finding scents customers will like; it is finding scents they cannot already buy from nine other brands at a lower price. Every pick above keeps the shape a buyer is searching for and changes the material underneath it. At 100g the set pours roughly 31 candles of 200g at an 8% load — enough to test all five before you commit to any.
One line: smoked rose, vanilla orange blossom, raat ki rani, neroli and dahlia at 100g each — ₹4,183, ≈31 candles — the same category, none of the default picks.
Testing before you commit? Four of the five ship in 50g — Raat Ki Rani at ₹370, Neroli at ₹399, Vanilla Orange Blossom at ₹415, Dahlia at ₹528 — and two go down to 15g, Raat Ki Rani at ₹130 and Neroli at ₹133. Only Smoked Rose Royale starts at 100g.

Differentiation, not selection: why this category is the harder one

The masculine range is hard to assemble. The feminine range is hard to make anyone remember.

The groundwork is the same on both sides of this shelf and we will not repeat it here: fragrance materials have no inherent gender, the split is roughly a century of advertising convention rather than chemistry, and the category survives commercially because "feminine candle" is overwhelmingly a gifting search — somebody buying for a mother, a sister, a wife, a friend, a bride's party — using the only vocabulary the market has handed them. That argument, and the naming decision that follows from it, is set out in full in the masculine collection guide. Everything there applies here in mirror image.

What is genuinely different is the commercial problem. Assembling a masculine range is a selection problem: there are fewer credible options, they are more expensive, and the work is finding five that do not all read as one dark room. Assembling a feminine range is a differentiation problem, and it is harder. The options are abundant, cheap and immediately legible. Every candle brand in India sells rose and vanilla. Most of them also sell jasmine, lavender and something fruity-pink. Search any Indian marketplace for a rose candle and you will find dozens of near-identical products separated only by photography and price — which means the only lever left is price, and price is a lever a small brand always loses.

So the method here is not "pick five nice florals". It is keep the category shape and change the material inside it. A buyer looking for a rose candle should still find you; they simply should not find the same rose candle. A smoked rose is still filed under rose in every listing, every collection page and every gift guide — it satisfies the search — but it is a product a competitor selling ₹342 British Rose at ₹599 retail cannot answer. The swap costs you nothing in intent and buys you the only thing a small brand can genuinely own.

The differentiation test
Write your five product names on a page. Then search each one on a marketplace. If a scent returns more than roughly twenty near-identical results from Indian sellers, you are not launching a product — you are joining a price war. Swap it for the adjacent, less obvious version of the same idea and search again.
The CSI principle
In a crowded category, the scent everyone recognises is the scent nobody remembers.
Recognition gets a customer to click. Distinctiveness gets them to reorder and to describe your candle to somebody else. Rose and vanilla give you all of the first and none of the second, which is why a range built on them stalls at exactly the point where it should be compounding.

The five, with prices

All prices are CSI live pricing as of August 2026. Cost-per-candle figures assume a 200g finished candle at an 8% fragrance load — 16g of oil, 184g of wax — calculated at 1kg pricing. Where a size is not listed on the product page we say so rather than inventing a figure.

1
Structured floral · the signature
Smoked Rose Royale
Replaces: plain rose — British Rose at ₹342/100g, the cheapest and most widely stocked floral in the Indian market.

What it smells like: rose petal held over incense smoke. The floral is still the lead and it still reads unmistakably as rose, but it sits on a dry, resinous, faintly charred base rather than on the powdery sweetness that makes most rose candles feel like soap. It is warm rather than pretty, and it smells like a fragrance rather than an air freshener.

Its role: the signature of the collection. This is the candle that goes on the banner, carries the highest price and gives a stranger a reason to remember your brand. Why the swap is better: plain rose competes with everyone at ₹599 and wins on nothing; smoked rose satisfies the same search, appears in the same gift guides, and has no obvious price comparison because the customer cannot find the identical product elsewhere. It is also the more grown-up rose, which matters because the rose buyer in 2026 is frequently a woman in her thirties buying for herself and actively avoiding anything that reads as girlish.

2
Anchored gourmand · the widest door
Vanilla Orange Blossom
Replaces: straight vanilla — Vanilla Bean at ₹790/100g, the single most-stocked candle scent in the country.

What it smells like: vanilla with the sugar taken out of it. Orange blossom brings a green, slightly bitter, almost honeyed brightness across the top that stops the vanilla flattening into bakery. The result is creamy but lifted, and it holds its shape through a long burn instead of going syrupy in hour three, which is the standard complaint about cheap vanilla candles.

Its role: the widest door into the range and your volume line. A first-time buyer who has never bought a scented candle understands the word vanilla from the label alone, and that removes the biggest friction in an online sale. Why the swap is better: straight vanilla is where price competition is most brutal and where the customer's expectation is lowest. Anchoring it with orange blossom gives you a vanilla candle that a discerning buyer will pay ₹899 for, while a plain one struggles past ₹649. You keep the search volume of vanilla and shed its cheapness. If you want the vanilla-versus-alternatives argument in full, the luxury collection guide covers the premium end of the same logic.

This is the one that will discolour. Vanilla Orange Blossom carries vanillin, which oxidises and turns white soy wax cream and then pale brown over several weeks. It is cosmetic, not a fault, and it is the single exception in an otherwise colour-stable collection. Either pour it into amber or frosted glass, or design the candle as cream from the start and stop fighting it. The full mechanism is in why vanilla oils turn wax yellow.
3
White floral · the Indian identity
Raat Ki Rani (Night-Blooming Jasmine)
Replaces: generic jasmine — Jasmine Fragrance Oil at ₹430/100g, an entirely competent oil that has the single disadvantage of being called jasmine.

What it smells like: the narcotic, green-honeyed white floral that opens after dark. Heavier and more indolic than a daytime jasmine, with a slightly wet, leafy edge underneath the sweetness. It is not a delicate scent and it should not be treated as one.

Its role: the emotional anchor and the one that makes the collection specifically Indian rather than a copy of an American catalogue. Why the swap is better: "jasmine" is a global commodity word that competes with every imported candle on the shelf. Raat ki rani is a named plant with a specific place in Indian domestic memory — terraces, evenings, a particular kind of heat — and customers reliably tell you about that memory, unprompted, in reviews. That is free marketing no imported floral can buy. It is also the cheapest oil in this collection at ₹700/100g and it rewards scale, which makes it the natural volume floral. If you want the comparison across all three Indian white florals, the jasmine and mogra guide goes deeper.

4
Fresh-bright · the year-round seller
Neroli Signature Grade
Replaces: Japanese Cherry Blossom at ₹500/100g — the default "fresh feminine" scent in Indian candle retail and possibly the most duplicated product name in the category.

What it smells like: bitter orange blossom. Sharp, green and slightly bitter at the top, softening into a clean white-floral heart with none of the sugar that fruity-floral accords carry. It smells expensive in a way that is difficult to explain to a customer and immediately obvious when they smell it, which is exactly the kind of scent a physical stall or a sampler set sells better than a product page does.

Its role: the year-round line and the least seasonal candle you will make. It works in a bathroom in May and a bedroom in December. Why the swap is better: cherry blossom is a pleasant, cheap and utterly generic accord that signals "starter brand" to anyone who has smelled a few candles. Neroli costs ₹299 more per 100g and moves the whole collection up a tier by association — it is the pick that makes the other four look considered. It is also the most gender-neutral scent in the range, which quietly widens your buyer without touching your positioning.

Soft musk · the repeat buy
Dahlia Bath and Body Works Inspired
Replaces: Love Spell at ₹449/100g — the default sweet pink fruity-floral that a very large share of Indian candle brands already list, usually under a name they invented themselves.

What it smells like: soft petals over a warm, powdery musk, with a plummy fruit facet that stays in the background rather than leading. It is quiet. It is the closest thing in this collection to a skin scent — the kind of smell people describe as "clean" or "expensive" without being able to name a single note in it.

Its role: the repeat buy. Every collection needs one scent that nobody chooses first and everybody rebuys, because it is the one that becomes the smell of somebody's bedroom. Why the swap is better: Love Spell is loud, sweet and instantly recognisable to anyone who has been in a mall, which makes it a good impulse product and a poor brand asset — customers attribute it to the original, not to you. Dahlia sits in the same soft-feminine space with far more restraint, and restraint is what supports a ₹999–₹1,049 price. It is the most expensive oil here at ₹1,056/100g and it should be the top of your ladder. The wider BBW-inspired range is worth browsing if this direction works for your customer.

The obvious picks we replaced, and the ones that nearly made it

None of the oils below is bad. Several are excellent and cheaper than what we chose. They were rejected on differentiation, not quality — which is the only sensible basis for rejection in a category this crowded, and a completely different logic from the one that governs a woody or oud range.

The swaps
What everyone else stocks, and what we put in its place
The obvious pick 100g We chose instead 100g Why
British Rose ₹342 Smoked Rose Royale ₹799 Same search, no price comparison, reads adult rather than sweet
Vanilla Bean ₹790 Vanilla Orange Blossom ₹829 ₹39 more buys a vanilla that holds ₹899 instead of ₹649
Jasmine Fragrance Oil ₹430 Raat Ki Rani ₹700 A named Indian plant beats a global commodity word
Japanese Cherry Blossom ₹500 Neroli Signature Grade ₹799 Moves the whole range up a tier by association
Love Spell ₹449 Dahlia BBW Inspired ₹1,056 Restraint supports a ₹999 price; loud sweetness does not

The near-misses. Mogra at ₹642 is arguably the most beautiful Indian white floral CSI stocks and lost to Raat Ki Rani on two grounds: it sells only in a single 100g size, so it cannot scale with the rest of a collection, and its garland association is strong enough that some buyers read it as devotional rather than decorative. Rajnigandha at ₹500 is the most opulent of the three and the most polarising — a superb sixth scent, a risky one of five. Gardenia at ₹433 overlaps heavily with both. Solar Bloom (₹749) and Peach Melon Berry (₹418) are strong, but the fruity-floral slot is exactly where the category is most saturated. Lavender Cranberry Coconut and Jasmine Coconut Spa Ceylon, both ₹799, belong to a spa range rather than a gifting range. And Parfums De Marly Delina inspired at ₹1,195 is excellent but rose-led, and this collection already has its rose.

The redundancy trap in florals is worse than anywhere else. Rose, jasmine, mogra, rajnigandha, gardenia and tuberose all read as "white or pink flower" to a customer smelling five candles in a row at a market stall. Stock three of them and two are invisible. This is why the collection above contains exactly one white floral, one rose and three non-floral directions — the contrast between the five is what makes each one legible. For the broader floral landscape, see the floral fragrance oils guide and the rose guide.

Collection economics: what it costs to stock, and what it sells for

A 200g candle at an 8% load needs 184g of wax and 16g of fragrance, plus a wick and a vessel. Using Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹5,999/10kg (₹0.60/g), an Eco Candle Wick Thin (C1) at ₹5.90, and a jar at ₹47.20, the base cost before fragrance is ₹163.30 on every candle in the range. Fragrance is the only variable.

Materials cost · 200g soy candle @ 8% load · 1kg fragrance pricing
What each of the five costs to pour, and where it should sit on the shelf
Fragrance Oil (16g) Base Total Retail at 30–35% Set it at
Raat Ki Rani ₹108.38 ₹163.30 ₹271.68 ₹776–₹906 ₹799
Neroli Signature Grade ₹121.58 ₹163.30 ₹284.88 ₹814–₹950 ₹849
Smoked Rose Royale ₹127.98 ₹163.30 ₹291.28 ₹832–₹971 ₹949
Vanilla Orange Blossom ₹132.70 ₹163.30 ₹296.00 ₹846–₹987 ₹899
Dahlia BBW Inspired ₹169.44 ₹163.30 ₹332.74 ₹951–₹1,109 ₹1,049

Note that the cost order and the shelf order are not identical. Smoked Rose Royale is only the third most expensive to pour and is priced third from the top, because it is the signature and carries the brand story — a range where price tracks material cost exactly tells the customer nothing about what you think is special. What the table does enforce is a floor: nothing here should retail below ₹799, and a maker selling a 200g floral soy candle at ₹499 is losing money once labour, packaging, shipping, gateway fees and breakage are counted.

1
All five at 100g — ₹4,183Roughly 31 candles of 200g, about six per scent. Enough to burn-test every scent twice, photograph a full range and sell a small first batch. This is where a new floral collection should start, without exception.
2
All five at 500g — ₹20,710Roughly 155 candles. Note that Vanilla Orange Blossom lists no 500g size, so this figure buys 5 × 100g at ₹4,145 for that one scent. Only move here once at least three of the five have reordered.
3
1kg on winners onlySixty-two candles per scent. Correct for a confirmed festive, wedding or corporate order, or for the one or two scents that have clearly separated from the pack. Never for the whole set at once.
4
Check the bulk discount before you assume it existsOn this collection it mostly does not — see below. That changes the sizing decision materially, and in your favour.
The unusual thing about this set
Three of these five oils are priced flat: Smoked Rose Royale is ₹7.99/g at 100g and ₹8.00/g at 1kg, Vanilla Orange Blossom is ₹8.29/g at both, and Dahlia is ₹10.56/g at 100g against ₹10.59/g at 1kg. Buying a kilogram of those three saves you nothing at all. Only Raat Ki Rani (₹7.00 down to ₹6.77, about 3%) and Neroli (₹7.99 down to ₹7.60, about 5%) reward scale. So buy 1kg of those two when they prove themselves, and keep the other three at 100g or 500g for as long as you like — the usual bulk-buying pressure simply does not apply here.

Packaging, glass and escaping the pink default

Pink packaging is not a design decision. It is the absence of one, and customers can tell.

The default presentation for a feminine candle range in India is pink glass, pink crinkle filler, a floral-print sleeve and a script font. It is available, it is cheap, and it is the visual equivalent of naming your candle "Rose". If the whole argument of this collection is that you differentiate by moving one step away from the obvious, the packaging has to follow the fragrance — otherwise you have a distinctive smoked rose sitting in a box that says commodity.

The advantage you have here is chemical, and it is worth real money. Discolouration in soy is driven mainly by vanillin and by the resinous, spicy and smoky materials that usually travel with it. Straight florals carry very little of it, which makes rose, jasmine, neroli and tuberose among the least likely fragrances to discolour white wax. Four of the five oils above will hold a clean, near-white wax through a normal shelf life. That means you can do the thing every other category has to buy its way out of: clear glass, undyed wax, nothing to hide. No dye cost, no opaque vessel premium, and a product that photographs the same in month six as on day one.

Presentation
Instead of the pink default, do this
Instead of Use Price Why
Pink glass jar Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150g) ₹944 / 10 Undyed floral wax is the whole look; gold does the warmth pink was doing
Coloured wax White Matte Glass Jar ₹354 / 5 Quiet, tactile, photographs cleanly against any background
Pink crinkle filler Crinkle Paper Filler, Cream ₹300 / 500g Neutral filler lets the candle be the colour in the box
Floral-print sleeve Premium Packing Tissue Paper ₹650 / 100 Wrapping beats printing; the unwrap is the gifting moment
Printed gift box Corrugated Box 11 × 11 × 8 cm ₹1,121 / 50 Plain kraft plus one good label reads more expensive than four-colour print
Vanilla in clear glass Clear Frosted Glass Jar ₹354 / 5 The one scent that discolours; frosting hides the shift entirely

Finish with a candle care sticker at ₹413 per 500 on the base — a burn-safety and first-burn instruction label is the cheapest signal of professionalism available, and it is the detail corporate and wedding buyers check. The full range is in packaging materials and glass jars.

If the box has to tell the buyer the candle is feminine, the candle is not doing its job.

The gifting calendar this range sells into

This collection is bought as a present far more often than it is bought for a shelf, which means your production calendar is a gifting calendar, not a seasonal one. The lead-time logic is unforgiving and identical every time: order fragrance, test and cure for 14 to 21 days, run production, cure again, pack, dispatch. Working backwards from a date, fragrance has to be decided and ordered roughly eight to ten weeks ahead.

Working calendar · from mid-August 2026
When to order fragrance for each gifting window
Occasion Date Order fragrance by Lead scent
Raksha Bandhan Fri 28 Aug 2026 Closed for new production Ready stock only — Raat Ki Rani
Wedding & bridesmaid season Nov 2026 – Feb 2027 Early September 2026 Dahlia, Neroli
Valentine's Day Sun 14 Feb 2027 Late November 2026 Smoked Rose Royale
Mother's Day (India) Sun 9 May 2027 Late February 2027 Vanilla Orange Blossom, Raat Ki Rani
Birthdays Continuous Standing stock All five — this is the baseline

Raksha Bandhan on 28 August 2026 is eleven days away as this is written, which for a candle business means the window for new production is effectively shut — cure alone eats it. Sell what is already poured, take the data, and put the 2027 date in your calendar with a fragrance-order reminder for mid-June. The detail on that window is in the Raksha Bandhan guide.

Valentine's Day is the single largest event for this specific collection, and Smoked Rose Royale is the reason to have built it — a rose candle that is not the same rose candle, arriving in the one week of the year when every buyer is searching for exactly that. Order fragrance by late November so the pour happens in December and the cure finishes with room to spare; the Valentine's guide has the full plan. Mother's Day on 9 May 2027 shifts the lead scent — warmth and comfort outsell romance, so Vanilla Orange Blossom and Raat Ki Rani lead, and the Mother's Day guide covers the positioning. Bridesmaid hampers run right through the November-to-February and April-to-June wedding seasons and are the highest-value order type here, because they are bought in sets of eight to twelve at a time; the bridesmaid hamper guide covers set construction. Birthdays are the quiet floor under all of it — no seasonality, no planning, and the reason all five should simply be in stock all year.

Set-building rule for hampers
A three-candle gift set should contain one obvious scent, one distinctive scent and one quiet scent — Vanilla Orange Blossom, Smoked Rose Royale, Dahlia. Three distinctive scents overwhelm; three obvious ones are forgettable. The same rule sizes your fragrance order: buy more of the obvious one than the distinctive one, because it appears in every set.

Load, cure and the indolic split

Florals are not one technical category, and treating them as one is why floral candles have a reputation for weak throw that they do not deserve. The split runs between heavy indolic white florals and delicate bright florals, and the two want opposite handling.

The split
Two groups, two sets of numbers
Group In this set Load Cure Behaviour
Heavy indolic Raat Ki Rani, Smoked Rose Royale 7–8% 14–21 days Carries itself; over-loading makes it cloying and can cause sweating
Anchored gourmand Vanilla Orange Blossom 8% 21 days Keeps improving to week three; discolours; heavy molecules throw well
Delicate bright Neroli Signature Grade 9–10% 14 days minimum Volatile top notes; needs a full melt pool to release
Soft musk Dahlia BBW Inspired 8–9% 14–21 days Low projection by design; judge it in a room, not over the jar

Work to the ceiling of the wax you actually bought: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks take a fragrance load up to 13%, Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 flakes up to 10%. Those are different numbers and there is no universal figure. Overshooting does not make a stronger candle; it makes an oily one that sweats and burns unpredictably. Full load guidance by family is in the fragrance load guide.

If your neroli reads weak, do not change the oil. Bright florals need a melt pool that reaches the jar wall before they release properly, so an undersized wick will silence them completely while the indolic florals in the same range seem fine. Size the wick to the jar diameter with Eco Candle Wicks — Thin (C1) at ₹590 per 100, Thick (C2) at ₹944 per 100 — run the load at the upper end, and give it the full 14 days. Diagnose in that order, using the weak throw guide, before you blame the fragrance.

One last scheduling note. Because three of these five keep developing to day 21, a burn test at day seven will systematically under-rate the best oils in the collection and over-rate the brightest one. Pour two candles per scent, label them with the pour date, and judge the whole set on the same day at week three. If you are also planning a seasonal range alongside this one, the seasonal collection guide sets out how the two calendars interlock.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. We have no finished range competing with yours and no reason to steer you toward an expensive oil — we stock 92 of them from ₹300 to ₹24,000 per kilogram, including every one of the "obvious picks" rejected above, several of which are cheaper than what we recommended. What we do have is order data: which scents move from 100g to 1kg, which sizes reorder, and which ones sit.

Every price, size and link here is live CSI stock in August 2026 and points at the product page, where current pricing always takes precedence. Where a product does not list a size — Vanilla Orange Blossom has no 500g, Smoked Rose Royale starts at 100g, Mogra sells in one size only — we say so rather than interpolate. Cost-per-candle figures are calculated from named inputs so you can check the arithmetic against your own jar and wick.

Frequently asked questions

Which five fragrances should a feminine candle collection be built on?
Five territories that are recognisably in the category but are not the shelf default: Smoked Rose Royale (structured floral, ₹799/100g) instead of plain rose; Vanilla Orange Blossom (anchored gourmand, ₹829/100g) instead of plain vanilla; Raat Ki Rani (white floral with Indian identity, ₹700/100g) instead of generic jasmine; Neroli Signature Grade (fresh-bright, ₹799/100g) instead of cherry blossom; and Dahlia Bath and Body Works Inspired (soft musk, ₹1,056/100g) instead of a generic pink fruity-floral. All five at 100g costs ₹4,183 and pours roughly 31 candles of 200g at an 8% fragrance load.
Why not just build a feminine candle collection on rose and vanilla?
Because every candle brand in India already sells them, so a rose-and-vanilla range competes only on price and photography. The commercial problem in this category is differentiation, not selection. Keep the recognisable shape a buyer is searching for and change the material underneath it: a smoked rose still reads as rose in a listing, still sells to the rose buyer, and does not sit next to nine identical products. The swap costs nothing in search intent and buys you the only thing a small brand can actually own, which is a scent nobody else has.
What is the difference between mogra, raat ki rani and rajnigandha?
All three are Indian white florals and they are not interchangeable. Mogra is Arabian jasmine, green and fresh at the top with a creamy indolic heart, and it is the one closest to a temple garland. Raat ki rani is night-blooming jasmine, narcotic and heavier, with a green-honeyed sweetness that reads as an evening terrace rather than a puja thali. Rajnigandha is tuberose, the most opulent and the most polarising of the three, creamy and almost buttery. Raat ki rani is the best commercial pick of the three because it carries the strongest emotional recall for Indian buyers while still smelling modern in a candle.
Do floral candle fragrances discolour white wax?
Most do not. Discolouration in soy is driven mainly by vanillin and by the resinous, spicy and smoky materials that come with it, so straight florals such as rose, jasmine, neroli and tuberose are among the least likely fragrances to turn white wax cream or brown. That is a genuine commercial advantage for a floral collection because it permits clear glass and undyed wax, which is the cleanest and cheapest look available. The exception in this collection is Vanilla Orange Blossom, which is vanillin-carrying and should be poured into amber or frosted glass or accepted as a cream-coloured candle.
What fragrance load and cure time do floral candle fragrances need?
Florals split into two groups and they need different handling. Heavy indolic white florals such as raat ki rani, mogra and tuberose carry themselves and perform well at 7–8%, and they keep improving to 21 days of cure. Delicate bright florals such as neroli and blossom accords are volatile at the top and need the upper end of the load, 9–10%, a full 14-day cure and a wick large enough to reach the jar wall. Work to the ceiling of the wax you bought: up to 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and up to 10% for Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464.
What does a feminine candle collection cost to stock, and what should it retail for?
All five oils at 100g cost ₹4,183 and pour about 31 candles of 200g at an 8% load. Scaling every one to 500g costs ₹20,710 and pours about 155 candles. Materials per 200g candle run from ₹271.68 for Raat Ki Rani to ₹332.74 for Dahlia, using Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹0.60/g, an Eco Wick at ₹5.90 and a jar at ₹47.20. Treating materials as 30–35% of retail gives a ladder of roughly ₹799 at the entry, ₹849–₹899 through the middle and ₹999–₹1,049 at the top.
