CSI Wick Buying · Ladder Builder
Seven lines turn a new jar into a nine-candle wick ladder: measure, class the oil, centre, bracket, count, price, then wait for the full life. Worked twice, for a 7 cm Lavender candle and a 10 cm Roasted Coffee double-wick.
7 lines
from inside diameter to bulk trigger; both worked ladders use the same ₹332.40 of wicks · CSI live pricing, October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How do I build a wick-test ladder before buying wicks in bulk? Fill in seven lines: inside diameter, wax and load, oil weight class, expected behaviour, then the starting rung and direction, the arms and counts, the packs and rupees, and the bulk trigger. Each line decides the next; nothing is bought until line 6.

What does a finished ladder look like? Worked example A, a 7 cm jar with Lavender in CSI 464: centre C1, arms C1 / C2 / Cotton Braided × 3 candles. Worked example B, a 10 cm jar with Roasted Coffee: centre 2 × C1, arms Cotton Braided single / 2 × C1 / 2 × C2 × 3. Both use the same three wick packs, ₹332.40.

So what makes one ladder dearer than another? The candles. Ladder A's whole order is ₹3,337.20; ladder B's is ₹6,889.00. Wicks are 6.3% of A's ladder materials and 3.9% of B's.

When do I buy in bulk? Only when all three candles of one arm pass a full-life burn. Then wicks = candles × wicks per candle × (1 + allowance), in packs that add up to the number: C1, C2 and Cotton Braided cost the same per wick in every pack.
The short answer
Inputs: measured inside diameter (pool area), wax and its ceiling, load inside both ceilings, oil class (light or heavy, from the page notes), expected behaviour.
Ladder: centre where you expect the answer, one arm each side on CSI's line (C1 → C2 → Cotton Braided → pairs); if the centre is at an end of the range, add the next arm inward. Three candles per arm.
Buy: the smallest in-stock packs that cover the counts (C1 20, the 10 is out of stock; C2 10; Cotton Braided 10), oil and wax sized to bottles with a three-candle re-pour reserve.
Bulk trigger: three of three candles pass the full life. Not burn 3, not one good candle.
The ladder-builder worksheet, filled in twice Seven lines from jar to bulk order. Centres are our judgement; inside diameters assume a 0.35 cm wall on the pages' outer figures. CSI live prices, 1 October 2026; whole order = wicks, oil, wax, jars and holders from nothing. The jar, oil and wax decide what a ladder costs. Excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST. Worked examples, not CSI burn data.
The worksheet run twice. Every line narrows the next: the jar and oil set the centre, the centre sets the arms, the arms set the packs. Both ladders end up buying the same three wick packs; what separates a ₹3,337.20 order from a ₹6,889.00 one is the jar, the oil and the wax. The black boxes are the only point at which a bulk purchase is allowed. Worked examples at CSI live prices on 1 October 2026; centres are our judgement, not CSI wick data.
Straight answer
How do I build a wick-test ladder for a new candle jar using diameter, wax type, fragrance load and expected burn behaviour before buying wicks in bulk?
Work it as a seven-line worksheet and buy nothing until line 6. Lines 1–3 are inputs: the inside diameter, measured, which gives the pool area; the wax and its stated load ceiling, with your load inside both the wax's and the oil page's ceiling; and the oil's weight class from its page notes, light (florals, herbals, citrus) or heavy (vanilla, coffee, oud, resins), which sets your expectation of the burn. Lines 4–5 build the ladder: centre it on the wick you expect to win, a judgement, then add one arm either side on CSI's line, Eco C1 → Eco C2 → Cotton Braided → pairs of C1 or C2, adding the next arm inward when your centre sits at an end of that range; three candles per arm. Line 6 prices it: the smallest in-stock packs that cover the counts, and oil and wax sized to bottles with a re-pour reserve. Line 7 is the bulk trigger: all three candles of one arm pass a full-life burn; only then does a production order follow, by formula. Worked twice below, a 7 cm Lavender ladder and a 10 cm Roasted Coffee double-wick ladder use the same ₹332.40 of wicks, and their whole orders differ by the candles: ₹3,337.20 against ₹6,889.00.
One line: inputs set the centre, the centre sets the arms, the arms set the packs; full life sets the bulk order.
The wick packs behind both worked ladders: Eco C1 20 (₹118.00; the 10-pack is out of stock on 1 October 2026), Eco C2 10 (₹94.40) and Cotton Braided 10 (₹120.00) = ₹332.40. Everything else in a ladder order is jars, oil and wax.
Eco C1/C2 — from ₹94.40

The worksheet: seven lines from jar to bulk order

A ladder is a chain of small decisions. Write each one down and the order writes itself.

Every post in this cluster answers one purchasing question for one jar situation. This one strings them together into a sheet you can fill in for any new jar. The rule column is what to apply; the examples column is our two worked ladders. The thresholds and the judgement calls are labelled; the arithmetic is declared.

Measure before you guessThree jars from the batch, inside diameter at three heights; the rim figure goes on line 1, the others warn you of a taper.
2
Fix the formulaWax, load and fill are decided before the wicks, and held still for the whole ladder.
3
Class the oil from its pageNotes, vanillin wording, any wick line. Light or heavy is enough; finer classes rarely change a CSI order.
4
Name a centre, honestly as a guessThen write the direction: which side of it is still open on CSI's line.
5
Write the arms and count the wicksThree candles per arm; pairs count two wicks per candle.
6
Price it, then order onceSmallest packs, bottles with a re-pour reserve, jars and holders. One order, one pour day.
7
Hold the bulk order until line 7Burn 3 picks the leaders; the full life picks the wick you buy by the hundred.

Lines 1–3: the inputs that decide where the ladder starts

Line 1, the inside diameter. The wick sees the pool, and the pool is π r² on the inside radius. CSI's jar listings give an outer, unspecified or "width" figure, or none at all; no listing states an internal diameter. On our labelled 0.35 cm wall, the 150 g Clear Glass Jar's "outer diameter 7cm" is about 6.3 cm inside (31.17 cm²) and the Apothecary's "Approx. 10 cm" about 9.3 cm (67.93 cm²): 2.18 times the surface. How to get a real inside figure is external versus internal diameter; what else to record before you order (fill height, session length, monthly volume) is the pre-order spec sheet.

Line 2, wax and load. Two ceilings apply and the lower governs: the wax page's maximum and the oil page's candle maximum. CSI 464 states "Fragrance Load Up to 10%"; Lavender's page says "6-10% for candles" and Roasted Coffee's "candles (6-10%)". Both ladders run at 8% of total weight, 8.70% of wax weight, inside 10% on either basis. Max load is not best load; test at the load you will produce. The fill weight changes how much wax and oil the ladder eats and how many burn days it takes, not which wicks go in the order: that split is the diameter-or-weight post.

Line 3, oil class and expected behaviour. Heavier, vanillin-rich or resinous oils are commonly linked to needing a larger wick, or to more carbon on the wick, than light florals and herbals in the same jar: a tendency, not a law, and CSI publishes no wick data for any oil. Read the page notes: Lavender is "fresh lavender top notes, herbal green mid notes, and soft musk base" (light, our reading); Roasted Coffee has "a warm vanilla and caramel base" (heavy). Expected behaviour is your forecast of the failure you are most likely to see: a ring at the glass (under-wicked) or carbon and a tall flame (over-wicked). Write it down; it decides the direction on line 4.

Mistake: starting at line 4 ("I'll try C2") because a forum said so for "a 7 cm jar". Why it fails: the forum's jar, wax, oil and load are not yours, and no CSI page states a jar range for C1 or C2. Fix: lines 1–3 take ten minutes and a ruler. They are what make line 4 a guess worth testing around rather than a guess.

Lines 4–5: centre, direction, arms and counts

A centre is a guess. The arms are what make it testable.

CSI's options form one short line: three sized, tabbed wicks, Eco C1 → Eco C2 → Cotton Braided, then pairs of C1 or C2 (with triples beyond, for very wide vessels). There is no sized, tabbed wick between those rungs, none smaller than C1, and none larger than Cotton Braided; the braided rolls are unsized and cut to length, and the one wooden-wick listing has no widths. That short line is what makes a worksheet possible: there are only so many places a centre can sit.

Where to centre the first ladder · our judgement, not a wick chart
Starting points to test around · inside diameter · light vs heavy oil · always one arm either side
Inside diameter (rough) Light oil: centre Heavy oil: centre Arms to buy (light · heavy)
About 5–6.5 cm C1 C1 or C2 C1 · C2 · Cotton Braided (C1 is the range end) · the same
About 6.5–8 cm C1 or C2 C2 or Cotton Braided C1 · C2 · Cotton Braided · C2 · Cotton Braided · 2 × C1
About 8–9 cm C2 or Cotton Braided Cotton Braided or a pair C2 · Cotton Braided · 2 × C1 · Cotton Braided · 2 × C1 · 2 × C2
About 9–10 cm and wider Cotton Braided or a pair a pair Cotton Braided · 2 × C1 · 2 × C2 · the same, plus a holder plan

Two rules turn a centre into arms. One arm either side, so the winner can be flanked by a fail below (a ring at the glass) and a fail above (a tall flame, carbon, a pool well past 1 cm); the closure rule itself is the bracket-closure post, and why three sizes is the usual breadth is the sample-breadth post. At a range end, add the next arm inward: a C1 centre has nothing tabbed below it, so the ladder adds Cotton Braided above C2 to keep a C2 win closable; a pair centre adds a single-wick anchor (Cotton Braided) below, to document that one wick is not enough before you double the wicks in every candle.

Counts follow: three candles per arm, so one odd candle (a drifted tab, a draught) can be outvoted. Wicks = 3 × wicks per candle per arm. Extra candles per arm for retests or spares are the per-size sample-count post; the cluster's default is three.

Line 6: packs and rupees

Packs come from the counts. CSI's smallest in-stock packs are larger than any single ladder's need: C1 in 20s (the 10-pack is out of stock on 1 October 2026), C2 and Cotton Braided in 10s. Any three-arm ladder on CSI's line, single or paired, fits inside C1 20 + C2 10 + Cotton Braided 10 = ₹332.40, as long as no ladder needs more than 20 C1, 10 C2 or 10 Cotton Braided (a three-arm ladder never does). Because C1, C2 and Cotton Braided are flat per wick in every pack (₹5.90, ₹9.44, ₹12.00), a bigger pack would change the cash, never the unit cost.

Oil and wax are where the money is, so size them carefully: enough for the ladder plus a three-candle re-pour, matched to in-stock bottle sizes. Jars and holders complete the order. Every figure below excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST.

Materials consumed (jars excluded) ₹1,295.41 ₹3,243.33

Read the last row twice. The wick cash is identical; the ladders are not. Ladder B costs about twice as much, almost all of it in coffee, wax and wide jars. That is the cluster's purchasing lesson in one table: an extra arm costs a candle, not a wick, and a wrong production order costs a hundred candles.

Worked example A: 7 cm jar, Lavender, CSI 464

The jar is CSI's Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram): "Height 8cm, outer diameter 7cm", "150g fill capacity", "Safe for hot pour up to 85°C". Inside, on our wall assumption, about 6.3 cm and 31.17 cm². A very rough rule of thumb (about an hour per 2.5 cm of width) gives about 2.5 hours to a full first pool, inside the commonly quoted 3–4 hours. The fill is the jar's 150 g at 8%: 12 g of Lavender and 138 g of CSI 464.

Line 3 calls Lavender light; line 4 puts the centre at C1, the bottom of CSI's tabbed range, with the direction up. Because C1 is a range end (no sized, tabbed wick below it), line 5 adds Cotton Braided above C2 so that a C2 win can still be flanked from above. Three arms, nine candles. A C1 test candle is ₹140.72 in materials and a Cotton Braided one ₹146.82: the dearest arm costs a few rupees more per candle than the cheapest, so there is no case for leaving the top arm out to save money.

Wick Centering Device 9 jars at once 2 packs of 5 ₹236.00 ₹23.60 1
Whole order 9 candles ₹3,337.20

Why 100 g + 50 g of Lavender and not 100 g + 15 g (₹645.02)? The cheaper pair leaves 7 g, not one candle; 100 g + 50 g leaves 42 g, enough for a three-candle re-pour (36 g). Lavender's 50 g and 100 g are both ₹5.40 a gram, so the reserve costs no per-gram penalty. Likewise two 1 kg bags of wax, not 1 kg + 500 g (₹767.40), which would leave 258 g, short of a re-pour's 414 g. Pour at 80–85°C: CSI 464's page says 80–90°C and the jar's 85°C limit governs.

Don't buy the 1 kg of Lavender yet: at ₹5,221.00 it is ₹5.22 a gram against ₹5.40 for the 100 g, and the ladder needs 108 g. Argued against our own interest: buy the 1 kg when line 7 releases production, not before; if the jar or the wax changes during testing, a kilo of oil bought for this ladder waits on a new one.

The likely outcome, as judgement: C1 or C2. If C1 wins, C2 is the fail above and nothing below C1 can be tested with a tabbed wick, so approve on the full life and the documented C2 fail. The 7 cm version of this purchase problem, and the stop-buying rule for rungs that fail, is the 7 cm adjacent-rungs post.

Worked example B: 10 cm jar, Roasted Coffee, two wicks

The jar is CSI's Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid (500 gm): outer rim and base "Approx. 10 cm", "Safe for hot-pour up to 85°C". About 9.3 cm inside on our wall, 67.93 cm², or 33.96 cm² per wick with two. The rough rule of thumb gives about 3.7 hours to a full first pool for one wick, close to the top of the commonly quoted 3–4 hours. The fill is a labelled 450 g at 8%: 36 g of Roasted Coffee and 414 g of CSI 464.

Line 3 calls Roasted Coffee heavy (its "warm vanilla and caramel base"), and line 1 says the pool is 2.18 times ladder A's. Cotton Braided's page describes it for jars "exceeding 8 cm", but this pool is past where we would bet on one wick with a heavy oil, so line 4 centres on a pair, 2 × C1, with the direction up (2 × C2) and one anchor below: a Cotton Braided single, expected to fail, to document that one wick is not enough before every production candle carries two. Where single and double are both worth running is judgement, discussed in the 10 cm spend-stop post.

Wick Centering Device 3 single jars pack of 5 ₹118.00 ₹23.60 2
Whole order 9 candles ₹6,889.00

Here the bigger bottle is the right buy, and we would say so even if it were not ours. The ladder needs 324 g; 3 × 100 g + 50 g (₹1,400.00) leaves 26 g and 4 × 100 g (₹1,560.00) leaves 76 g, neither enough for a three-candle re-pour (108 g). The 500 g leaves 176 g and is cheaper per gram (₹3.78 against ₹3.90). The same logic picks the 5 kg wax bag over four 1 kg bags (₹2,029.60, 274 g left, short of a re-pour's 1,242 g); CSI 464 is flat per gram from 1 kg, so the 5 kg costs no more per gram.

Holding a pair in a 10 cm jar
CSI's Steel Wick Holder states "up to 9 cm wide", short of this jar, so fix each tab with a sticker and hold the pair upright with your own bar drilled at your spacing. As a labelled starting point, two wicks 4.6 cm apart on a diameter sit 2.35 cm from the glass (r − s/2); how to set and vary that spacing is the double-wick placement post. A heavy-oil candle on two C2 is ₹365.02 in materials before the jar.
Don't buy production quantities of C2 because "coffee needs the bigger pair": that is line 3's forecast, not line 7's result. Argued against our own interest: the C2 10-pack holds both the pair arm and four spares; a 100-pack bought now is a bet that 2 × C1 fails, and the ladder exists to find out.

Line 7: the bulk trigger

Burn 3 tells you which candles to keep burning. Only the bottom of the jar tells you what to buy by the hundred.

Cure all candles together (Roasted Coffee's page: "Always cure soy wax candles for at least 48-72 hours before burn testing"; many makers wait about a week), burn in 3–4 hour sessions in still air, trim to about 5–6 mm, and screen at burn 3. Then carry every candle of the leading arm to about 1 cm left. Near the bottom, judge how close the flame sits to the glass by eye; never touch the glass to judge heat. The gates themselves (what is fixed at each, what to record) belong to the commercial wick-system post and to the cluster hub's two-gate rule; how far down a test candle must burn is the acceptance-depth post.

When three of three pass, line 7 writes the order: wicks = candles × wicks per candle × (1 + allowance), with 5% as our worked-example allowance, in packs that add up to the number.

The 10 days is yours: CSI dispatches from Pune and does not publish lead times or stock depth, so confirm dispatch on WhatsApp before a big run. Reorder points across several wick SKUs are the per-SKU reorder post.

Don't buy the 1,000-pack once line 7 passes either: at 210 a month the C2 1,000-pack (₹9,440.00) is more than four months of stock at the same ₹9.44 a wick as the 10-pack, and the approval belongs to one jar, one wax, one oil and one load. Change any of them and the worksheet re-opens; a 5 mm wider jar, for instance, needs a two-arm confirm order, and a heavy glass base needs a control arm. Buy a month plus safety stock.

What to buy for the two worked ladders, and what to skip

Six items, in worksheet order, chosen on page statements, price and stock on 1 October 2026. CSI publishes no wick-performance data, so nothing here is ranked on burn results. Oil counts use 12 g per 150 g candle and 36 g per 450 g candle.

1
wax · the constant in both ladders
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Flakes Form) For Container Candles
Line 2 of the worksheet in both examples. The page states "Fragrance Load Up to 10%" and "Pour Temperature 80°C – 90°C"; both jars state a hot-pour limit of 85°C, so pour at 80–85°C (the lower limit governs). Price is flat per gram from 1 kg to 10 kg, so the 5 kg that suits ladder B costs the same per gram as the 1 kg bags in ladder A. Wick results do not transfer between waxes: change the wax and the worksheet starts again at line 2.

2
fragrance oil · herbal · worked example A
Lavender Fragrance Oil
The light-class oil in ladder A. The page lists "fresh lavender top notes, herbal green mid notes, and soft musk base" and states "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles"; 8% sits inside it and inside CSI 464's 10% (8.70% of wax weight). The 50 g and 100 g are both ₹5.40 a gram, so 100 g + 50 g costs nothing extra per gram over a single larger bottle of the same weight; the 500 g (₹5.24) and 1 kg (₹5.22) are only slightly cheaper. Every size is in stock on 1 October 2026. Limitation: "light" is our reading of its notes; CSI publishes no wick data for any oil.

3
fragrance oil · coffee gourmand · worked example B
Roasted Coffee Fragrance
The heavy-class oil in ladder B. The page lists "fresh coffee bean top notes, dark chocolate and espresso heart, and a warm vanilla and caramel base" and states "candles (6-10%)", with "Always cure soy wax candles for at least 48-72 hours before burn testing for best scent throw." Every size is in stock on 1 October 2026; per gram it falls from ₹6.21 at 15 g to ₹3.74 at 1 kg. For ladder B the 500 g (₹1,890.00, ₹3.78 a gram) is the right buy, an honest case where the bigger bottle wins. Limitation: coffee and vanilla notes are commonly linked to carbon on the wick, a tendency; the ladder decides.

4
wick · the low rungs and both pairs
Eco Candle Wicks — Thin (C1) and Thick (C2)
Line 5 in both ladders: singles in A, pairs in B. The page describes "natural fibers like cotton and paper" that "pair perfectly with soy wax" and, in the text we captured, states no length, width or jar range. Stock on 1 October 2026: the C1 10-pack is out of stock; every other pack is in. Per wick it is flat in every pack (₹5.90 C1, ₹9.44 C2). Argued against our own interest: the C1 20 and C2 10 cover both ladders; no ladder on this page needs a 100-pack.
Pack Price Per unit What it covers here
Thin (C1) / 10 ₹59.00 — Out of stock ₹5.90 out of stock on 1 October 2026

5
wick · the top tabbed rung
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made
The top arm of ladder A and the single-wick anchor of ladder B. The page says "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm", claims "preventing tunneling", and gives "Height of the wick is 10.16 cm". In A it is there so that a C2 win can be flanked from above; in B it answers "can one wick do it?" before you commit to doubling the wicks per candle. Limitation: no larger single tabbed wick exists at CSI; above it, the step is a pair.
Pack Price Per unit What it covers here
Pack of 10 ₹120.00 ₹12.00 A: the top arm · B: the single-wick anchor
Pack of 50 · 100 and up ₹600.00 · ₹1,200.00 ₹12.00 production, if it wins
₹12.00 a wick in every pack. Buy 10 — ₹120.00
6
jar · the 10 cm vessel in ladder B
Apothecary Glass Candle Jar with Dome Lid
The widest CSI vessel with a stated diameter: "Diameter (outer rim): Approx. 10 cm", "Base diameter: Approx. 10 cm" and "Safe for hot-pour up to 85°C", a pour limit, not a burn rating. About 9.3 cm inside on our wall assumption, 67.93 cm², or 33.96 cm² per wick with two. Limitation: the page gives one set of dimensions for both sizes, and its width is past the Steel Wick Holder's stated "up to 9 cm", so hold pairs another way (see ladder B).
Size Price Per jar What it covers here
500 gm ₹212.40 ₹212.40 B: nine jars at a labelled 450 g fill
700 gm ₹250.00 ₹250.00 same stated dimensions on the page; measure before planning a fill
Nine jars: ₹1,911.60. Buy 500 gm — ₹212.40

Skip for these ladders: the Steel Wick Holder (₹250.00 for 5) for ladder B, since its page says "up to 9 cm wide" (it suits pairs in jars up to that width); the Braided Wick Roll (₹706.82) and Eco Braided Wicks (₹472.00 for 5 m), unsized, for a second round only if a ladder lands between rungs; Eco Candle Wicks Loose (₹413.00 for 5 m), whose page says "2 inch diameters"; and Performance Wooden Wicks (₹590.00 for 10), one width, so not a rung.

Diwali is 8 November 2026, 38 days from 1 October 2026. A worksheet filled in this week and poured in one session can pass burn 3 by mid-October, with full-life burns after. Send us line 7 (winning arm, wicks per candle, monthly candles) and we will quote wicks, oil and wax together with a GST invoice and dispatch date.

The CSI principle
Measure, class, centre, bracket, price, then wait.
Seven lines turn a new jar into a nine-candle ladder. The wick packs barely change between jars; the candles do. Nothing is bought by the hundred until three of three pass the full life.
"A wick chart answers someone else's jar. A worksheet answers yours."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the wax, oils, wicks, jars and accessories named here, and does not sell finished candles. This page still tells you that our tabbed range is three sized wicks with nothing between them, not to buy our 100- or 1,000-packs before line 7, not to buy a kilo of oil for a ladder, and that our Steel Wick Holder is stated for jars up to 9 cm, short of the 10 cm example.

Every price was verified on CSI's live store on 1 October 2026. Stock was checked per size: the Eco C1 10-pack and the 100-sticker sheet are out of stock on that date and are flagged where they appear; every other size shown is in stock. Product wording is quoted from the pages; where a page is silent in the text we captured, we say so.

The oil classes, centres, starting-point bands, the 0.35 cm wall, the 450 g fill, the 4.6 cm spacing, the 5% allowance, the monthly volumes and the 10-day lead time are our judgement or worked examples; melt-pool times and flame heights are commonly cited rules of thumb, not CSI data; CSI publishes no wick-performance data. Frequently asked questions

How do I choose which wick sizes to test for a new candle jar?
Measure the inside diameter, note the wax, load and whether the oil is light or heavy, then centre the ladder on your best guess and add one size either side. With CSI wicks the line runs C1, C2, Cotton Braided, then pairs.
Does fragrance oil affect which wick to test?
Often. Heavier oils such as vanilla, coffee and oud are commonly linked to needing a larger wick or to more carbon on the wick than light florals in the same jar. That shifts your centre, usually by one rung; the ladder still decides.
How many candles do I need for a wick-test ladder?
Three per arm, three arms: nine candles. Both worked examples here use nine, a 7 cm Lavender ladder and a 10 cm Roasted Coffee double-wick ladder, from the same three wick packs (₹332.40).
When should I buy wicks in bulk?
After all three candles of one arm pass a full-life burn to about 1 cm left. Then order candles × wicks per candle × 1.05, a month plus safety stock. CSI's C1, C2 and Cotton Braided cost the same per wick in every pack, so buying earlier saves nothing.
Do I need two wicks for a 10 cm candle jar?
Often, but test it: in our worked example the ladder centres on 2 × C1 with a Cotton Braided single as the anchor below, so the result shows whether one wick can reach the glass before every candle carries two.
Can I use a wick sizing chart instead of testing?
A chart can suggest a centre; it cannot approve a wick. CSI's wick pages state no jar range for C1 or C2, and your jar, wax, oil and load are not the chart's. Use it for line 4 if you like, then run the ladder.

About this guide: the capstone of CSI's cluster on jar diameter → wick testing (5501–5520) in the series on wick purchase × jar × wax × fragrance: a seven-line ladder-builder worksheet (inside diameter, wax and load, oil class and expected behaviour, centre and direction, arms and counts, packs and rupees, bulk trigger), worked twice (a 7 cm Lavender ladder in CSI 464 and a 10 cm Roasted Coffee double-wick ladder), with full buy lists and the production orders the bulk trigger releases.

Non-price figures: load is a percentage of total candle weight (150 g at 8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax; 450 g at 8% = 36 g + 414 g). Inside diameters assume a 0.35 cm wall on the pages' outer figures; pool area = π r²; wick-to-wall = r − s/2. Ceilings as the pages state (CSI 464 up to 10%, pour 80–90°C; Lavender 6–10% for candles; Roasted Coffee candles 6–10%; both jars hot-pour up to 85°C): formulation and pour limits, not regulatory ones or burn ratings. Melt-pool times (about 3–4 hours; about an hour per 2.5 cm) are commonly cited rules of thumb. Oil classes, centres, starting-point bands, the 450 g fill, spacing, 5% allowance, monthly volumes and 10-day lead time are editorial judgement and worked examples. Costs exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Diwali 8 November 2026 is a calendar fact.
