Luxury Fragrance Oils for Coconut Soy Wax Candles

What "luxury" means in a fragrance oil

On CSI's catalogue, oils at the top of the price range are there for a reason: their formulas are costlier to build. Rich woods, resins, ouds, smoky florals, Indian night florals and oils modelled on well-known perfumes cluster above ₹6.50 a gram at 1 kg. That is a useful filter for a luxury range. It is not a measure of how well any oil throws in coconut-soy — we have not published throw data for any oil in any wax — and some mid-priced oils may suit your brand better than the dearest.

Coconut-soy changes the brief slightly. It is usually chosen for a creamy, smooth top and a premium position — general practice, not a CSI measurement — so your customer judges the candle on its surface before they light it. Deep resin and oud oils can tint a pale wax; some brands like the warmer tone, others find it fights the look they paid for. Pour a test and look at it. The premium tier, priced per candle

Here are ten premium-tier oils, each priced inside a 200 g candle made with Coconut Wax — the dearest of the three coconut waxes, since a luxury range is the case for it. Oil is at its 1 kg rate; 16 g is an 8% test-ladder midpoint. The "tester" column is the smallest in-stock size, which is what you buy first.

The spread inside the tier is wide. Raat Ki Rani costs ₹108.38 of oil per candle; the Delina inspired oil costs ₹191.23. Most sit between ₹120 and ₹150, which in a Coconut Wax candle makes the fragrance about a third of materials. Several premium oils are priced flat — Smoked Rose Royale and Midnight Bakhoor Royale are ₹7.99/g at 100 g and ₹8.00/g at 1 kg — so for a small luxury range, 100 g is the right production size. Neroli Signature Grade is an exception, falling to ₹7.60/g at 1 kg.

Inspired-by oils in a coconut-soy range

Above the premium tier sit the oils modelled on well-known perfumes, listed in CSI's Fine Perfume Fragrances and BBW Inspired collections under the store's own names. They are the dearest oils in the catalogue per gram, and in a coconut-soy candle that shows immediately. At 16 g in a 200 g candle, the Delina (Parfums De Marly Inspired) oil costs ₹191.23, Good Girl (Carolina Herrera Inspired) ₹285.57 and Club De Nuit Intense Inspired ₹384.90, all at 1 kg rates.

That makes the fragrance more than half of the candle's material cost for the dearest of them. They can anchor a small, high-priced line, but they are hard to justify across a whole range unless your selling price is built for them. Several inspired-by oils also have sizes out of stock on the pull date — the Baccarat Rouge 540 and Acqua Di Gio inspired oils have none in stock at all — so check the stock line before you plan a launch around one. Many makers describe these candles by scent character on the label rather than by the perfume's name; check how you describe any inspired-by candle before you print.

What each luxury upgrade costs

The ladder starts from a standard coconut-soy candle — Mango Coconut in CSI 468, Eco Thin C1 wick, White Matte jar — at ₹259.72 in materials, and adds one upgrade at a time. The oil and waxes are at 1 kg rates. The wooden wick is a Performance Wooden Wick at ₹590.00 for 10.

The oil is the biggest single step at ₹82.50. The wax adds ₹49.68 (Premium Coconut Soy) or ₹69.29 (Coconut Wax). The wooden wick adds ₹53.10 and changes the candle's look and sound, which some luxury buyers value. It also needs its own burn tests: wick sizing for jar diameters is not published in our data, and a wooden wick behaves differently from a cotton one. Material cost excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST.

A 30-candle luxury capsule

A luxury launch rarely needs more than three scents. Here is a capsule of 30 candles — ten each of Santal Noir, Neroli Signature Grade and Smoked Rose Royale — in Premium Coconut Soy Wax with wooden wicks. Each scent needs 160 g of oil, or 166.4 g with a 4% allowance, so two 100 g bottles per scent. The wax need is 5,740.8 g, bought as 6 × 1 kg (the largest listed size of this wax).

That is ₹481.60 per candle across the order, before labour, packaging, freight and GST, with 40 g of each oil and about 259 g of wax left for re-tests. The same capsule in CSI 468 would cost ₹12,828.00 — the wax line drops from ₹5,520.00 to ₹3,900.00. Choosing between them is the test in the ladder above.
