CSI Collection Buying · Luxury Masculine
A luxury men's candle is quieter than a cheap one, with a dry-down worth waiting for, a heavy dark jar and a name you own. Here are five premium CSI oils, what each costs per candle, and where perfume-grade earns its price.
₹283.70
materials for one 150 g White Royal Oud candle at 8% in a black glass jar (worked example) · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What makes a masculine candle read as luxury? Restraint and depth, not strength: a dry, resinous or woody dry-down that stays after the flame is out, very little sugar, one clear idea per candle, a heavy dark vessel and a name that belongs to you. The oil is one part of it, and often not the biggest line on the cost sheet.

Candle-grade or perfume-grade oil? Start candle-grade where it exists: White Royal Oud states "6-10% for candles" and gives you a polished oud. Use perfume-grade where it adds something no candle-grade oil has, such as leather or a smoked-rose amber, and accept that its page states no candle load, so you carry the testing.

What does a premium masculine candle cost to make? Worked example, 150 g at 8% in a black glass jar with a C2 wick: ₹283.70 with White Royal Oud, ₹326.14 with Amber Oud Royal, ₹346.54 with the leather-inspired oil. All exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST.

Can I call it a dupe of a famous fragrance? No. Keep perfume and brand names, and the word "dupe", off your labels, listings and ads. CSI's inspired listing names are CSI's product names; they give you no right to the brand.
The short answer
Luxury masculine is: oud, dry sandalwood, amber resin, smoked rose and leather, built to be quiet and long, sold in a heavy vessel under your own name.
The five oils: White Royal Oud (candle-grade), Santal Noir (no candle load stated), Amber Oud Royal and Ban Magnet (perfume-grade fine-perfume listings), and the leather-inspired listing (50 g only in stock).
The money: with the five picks, oil is 34% to 46% of the materials in a premium black-jar candle; the jar alone is ₹107.00.
The law, in one line: interpret a style, never borrow a name.
Luxury masculine: evidence against price ₹ per gram (vertical axis) at the largest in-stock size, 24 September 2026. Left = most candle evidence. CANDLE-GRADE page states a candle load NO CANDLE LOAD candle-range listing PERFUME-GRADE fine-perfume / inspired 4 6 8 10 12 14 Woody Oud · ₹4.53 Dark Vanilla Oud · ₹5.69 White Royal Oud · ₹8.10 Mahogany Teakwood · ₹8.80 Midnight Bakhoor · ₹8.00 Santal Noir · ₹9.12 Royal Oud · ₹6.40 Ban Magnet · ₹8.40 Amber Oud Royal · ₹11.64 Lavender Oud · ₹12.00 Leather (50 g) · ₹13.34 Filled dot = a pick in this guide. Leather at its 50 g price (only size in stock); Royal Oud 100 g out of stock. Price is not quality: the right column has no stated candle load, so it asks more of your own testing. Listing names are CSI product names; CSI is not affiliated with any brand they reference.
Premium masculine oils at CSI plotted by price per gram and by how much candle evidence their page gives you. The left column states a candle load; the middle column is sold for candles but states none; the right column is perfume-grade. For a brand, the most defensible luxury candle usually starts in the left column and borrows one accent from the right.
Straight answer
I run a candle brand and want a luxury men's line. Which CSI oils should I use, should they be perfume-grade, and what will each candle cost?
Anchor the line on a candle-grade oil with a stated load: White Royal Oud ("Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles"), ₹8.10 per gram from 100 g. Add depth from the oils that give a luxury line its character: Santal Noir for dry sandalwood, and from the perfume-grade fine-perfume listings, Amber Oud Royal for resinous amber and Ban Magnet for smoked rose and incense. Consider the leather-inspired listing only as a limited edition: only its 50 g is in stock. The perfume-grade pages state no candle load, so work inside your wax's ceiling and test from 6%. In a black 150 g glass jar with CSI 464 and a C2 wick, one candle at 8% costs ₹283.70 in materials with White Royal Oud and ₹326.14 with Amber Oud Royal, before labour, freight, packaging and GST. Name every candle yourself; never use a perfume brand's name.
One line: a luxury men's candle is a candle-grade base with one expensive idea on top, in a heavy jar, under a name nobody else owns.
The anchor oil. White Royal Oud 50 g is ₹420.00; from 100 g it holds at ₹8.10 per gram to 1 kg. Page notes: "bergamot and saffron top notes, white royal oud, rose petals, and labdanum middle notes, and creamy sandalwood, ambergris, and soft musk base".
Buy White Royal Oud 50 g — ₹420.00

What reads as luxury in a men's candle

Expensive men's fragrance whispers. Cheap men's fragrance shouts, then leaves.

The first mistake brands make with a luxury masculine line is to make it louder. The customers who pay premium prices for a men's candle are usually buying the same thing they would buy in a good cologne: a dry, grown-up dry-down, not a blast. What follows is our view of the positioning, built from what the oils state and what we see buyers choose; it is judgement, not market research.

Five signals of luxury masculine

1. A dry-down worth waiting for. Luxury is judged in the second hour, not the first minute. Oils whose pages name a real base (ambergris, labdanum, sandalwood, resin, amber, vetiver) are the raw material. 2. Low sugar. Vanilla and tonka are fine as a softener; a candle that smells of dessert reads as a gift-shop candle, whatever the price. 3. One idea per candle. Oud, or leather, or smoked rose. Not all three. 4. A heavy, dark vessel. Black or amber glass, a solid lid, a weight in the hand. 5. A name you own. Customers pay for a story they can repeat: "Library", "Old Fort", "Monsoon Study". They do not pay a premium for "inspired by".

Where the Indian luxury masculine customer sits

In India, oud and attar-adjacent woods carry a luxury signal that sandalwood-and-amber alone may not, and a smoked, incense-like note reads as heritage rather than smoke. That is why this page leans on oud, resin and smoked rose rather than on the fresh aquatic that anchors many European men's lines. The fresh end still has a place (the hub, Buy Masculine Fragrance Oils for Candle Making, covers the full family map), but it is rarely the luxury hero.

Mass masculine against luxury masculine
The same families, positioned differently
Mass-market men's candle Luxury men's candle
Scent aim Loud in the first 30 minutes Balanced; best in hour two
Sweetness Vanilla-forward, gourmand Dry; sweetness as a softener only
Oil choice One familiar, strong oil Candle-grade base, one distinctive accent
Vessel Clear glass, light lid Black or amber glass, heavy lid
Name Scent description ("Oud & Amber") A place, a time, a story; never a brand
Edition size Continuous Core line plus small numbered editions
Argued against our own interest: the dearest oil does not make the most luxurious candle. The most expensive oil on this page costs about three times as much per candle as the cheapest oud CSI lists, and in a blind test your customer may not rank them in that order. The vessel, the name and the restraint of the scent do more for a luxury position than a higher per-gram price. Spend on the oil only where it gives you a note nothing cheaper can.

Candle-grade against perfume-grade

Candle-grade oils come with a candle load on the label. Perfume-grade oils come with homework.

CSI's masculine oils fall into three groups, and the groups matter more to a brand than the price does. Candle-grade oils state a candle load: you have a starting range and an upper limit from the maker. Candle-range oils with no stated load are sold alongside the candle oils but give you no number: you work inside your wax's ceiling. Perfume-grade oils, including the fine-perfume listings and the brand-inspired ones, quote perfume usage rates (up to 25% extrait, 20% EDP/EDT, 15% solid perfume on the inspired pages) that are not candle loads, and no candle figure at all.

Three grades · what the page gives you, and what you must supply
Masculine examples from the CSI range, 24 September 2026
Grade Examples Load guidance on the page What you supply
Candle-grade White Royal Oud, Dark Vanilla Oud, Woody Oud "6-10% for candles" A three-load test within that range
Candle-range, no load Santal Noir, Midnight Bakhoor Royale, Saffron Cedarwood None for candles Test from 6% inside the wax ceiling
Perfume-grade Amber Oud Royal, Ban Magnet, Lavender Oud, the inspired listings Perfume rates only, or none Same, plus a closer eye on soot and burn

For a brand selling at a premium, the evidence gap is a real cost. Every perfume-grade oil needs its own test series and burn log before you sell it, because the maker has not given you a candle range. Budget that time into the launch. The wax ceiling still governs: Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 up to 10%, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 up to 13%; these are formulation limits, not regulatory ones, and not targets. How heavy woods behave in soy and how long to cure them is in Best Masculine Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles.

The accent approach
If a perfume-grade oil gives you the idea but you want candle-grade behaviour, blend: most of the load from a candle-grade oil, a small share from the perfume-grade one, same total load. Test it like any new oil. The cost of doing this across a range is worked through in Masculine Candle Fragrance Oils Wholesale in India.

Five premium masculine oils

Picked for a luxury line, on stated notes, grade, price per gram and stock. We have no throw measurements; structure and base-note weight are judged from the page wording. Candle counts assume 150 g at 8%; for oils without a stated load, 8% is a worked example inside the wax ceiling, not a recommendation from the page.

1
oud · candle-grade · the anchor
White Royal Oud
In our reading, the most complete luxury pyramid among CSI's candle-grade oils: "bergamot and saffron top notes, white royal oud, rose petals, and labdanum middle notes, and creamy sandalwood, ambergris, and soft musk base". The page states "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles" and describes it as "ultra-refined" and "IFRA-certified" (the page's wording; request the documents). Saffron and rose give it an Indian luxury accent. Limitation: rose in the heart makes it less dry than some buyers expect of oud; if your line needs a darker oud, test it beside Woody Oud. The 1 kg is 3.5% cheaper per gram than the 50 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15gm ₹130.00 ₹8.67 1
50gm ₹420.00 ₹8.40 4
100gm ₹810.00 ₹8.10 8
500gm ₹4,051.00 ₹8.10 41
1kg ₹8,103.00 ₹8.10 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹100.80 at 50 g, ₹97.24 from 100 g. Buy White Royal Oud
2
dry sandalwood · no candle load stated
Santal Noir
The dry, dark sandalwood that a luxury line needs and a creamy single-note sandalwood cannot give. Stated notes: "Top Notes: Soft Spice, Subtle Green Accord | Heart Notes: Creamy Sandalwood, Light Cedar | Base Notes: Warm Amber, Musk, Dry Woods". The page's usage figure ("Best worn as EDP (20–25%)") is a perfume rate; it states no candle load. Work inside your wax ceiling and test at 6%, 8% and 10%. Limitation: the dearest per gram of the candle-range woods; the ladder flattens after 100 g (₹9.19), and the 1 kg is 8.6% cheaper per gram than the 50 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15g ₹166.00 ₹11.07 1
50g ₹499.00 ₹9.98 4
100g ₹919.00 ₹9.19 8
500g ₹4,599.00 ₹9.20 41
1kg ₹9,120.00 ₹9.12 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹119.76 at 50 g, ₹109.44 at 1 kg. Buy Santal Noir
3
amber oud · perfume-grade · the evening hero
Amber Oud Royal – Opulence, Redefined
A fine-perfume listing, outside the fragrance-oils collection. It "opens with rich resins and spices, unfolds into smoky oud and lush florals, and lingers with golden amber, creamy sandalwood, and dark musk". The page says "IFRA compliant, phthalate-free" and states no candle load. This is the oil for a numbered winter edition or a boxed gift candle where the price carries it. Limitation: smallest size is 100 g (₹1,299.00), it is the dearest of the five picks per gram after the leather (Lavender Oud, not a pick, is dearer at 1 kg), and "lush florals" means it is less dry than its name suggests. The 1 kg is 10.4% cheaper per gram than the 100 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
100g ₹1,299.00 ₹12.99 8
500g ₹5,999.00 ₹12.00 41
1kg ₹11,640.00 ₹11.64 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹155.88 at 100 g, ₹139.68 at 1 kg. Buy Amber Oud Royal
4
smoked rose and incense · perfume-grade
Ban Magnet Fragrance Oil
Not a brand-inspired listing, which makes it easier to build a named product around. Notes: "Opens with bergamot, black pepper, and cardamom. Heart of smoked rose, jasmine, incense, and patchouli. Base of amber, tonka bean, vetiver, and dark musk." The page says "IFRA compliant, phthalate-free"; no candle load is stated. Smoked rose and incense over vetiver is a distinctly Indian-luxury masculine idea, and the one on this page least like anything in a mass men's range. Limitation: starts at 100 g (₹899.00); the heart is floral, so position it as "evening" rather than "classic men's". The 1 kg is 6.6% cheaper per gram than the 100 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
100g ₹899.00 ₹8.99 8
500g ₹4,300.00 ₹8.60 41
1 kg ₹8,400.00 ₹8.40 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹107.88 at 100 g, ₹100.80 at 1 kg. Buy Ban Magnet
5
leather · perfume-grade · limited edition only
Tomford Ombre Leather Inspired Fragrance Oil
That is CSI's product listing name. The oil is CSI's interpretation of a style; CSI is not affiliated with the brand, and neither the brand nor the fragrance name may appear on your candle, box, listing or ads. It is the only leather-style oil CSI lists: "warm, aromatic cardamom", "a supple suede-leather heart softened by jasmine sambac and powdery violet", drying to "patchouli, amber, and moss". The page says "IFRA compliant, phthalate-free, skin-safe" and quotes perfume rates, not a candle load. Limitation: on 24 September 2026 only the 50 g is in stock; the 100 g and 1 kg are out of stock. Treat it as a small numbered edition, and ask about restock before planning more.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
50g ₹667.00 ₹13.34 4
100g ₹1,335.00 — Out of stock on 24 September 2026 ₹13.35 Out of stock
1kg ₹13,348.00 — Out of stock on 24 September 2026 ₹13.35 Out of stock
Oil per 8% candle at the 50 g price: ₹160.08, the dearest on this page. Buy the leather listing
The premium test set: White Royal Oud 50 g, Santal Noir 50 g, Amber Oud Royal 100 g, Ban Magnet 100 g and the leather-inspired 50 g: ₹3,784.00. Without the leather, ₹3,117.00. Other premium masculine options (Royal Oud, Lavender Oud, Midnight Bakhoor Royale) and their stock by size are compared in Oud and Leather-Style Fragrance Oils for Masculine Candles and Where to Buy Premium Masculine Candle Fragrance Oils in India.

Per-candle cost at premium

In a premium men's candle, the jar often costs as much as the oil. Plan the price from both.

A worked example, not a quote. One 150 g candle at 8% (12 g oil, 138 g wax) in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 at the 10 kg price (₹70.02), a Black Glass Jar with Black Lid (150 gram) from the pack of 10 (₹107.00), and a Thick (C2) eco wick (₹9.44). The non-oil materials come to ₹186.46. Oil is at the largest in-stock size.

Materials per premium candle · worked example
150 g at 8%, CSI 464, black 150 g jar, C2 wick; excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST
Oil Grade Oil (12 g) Wax + jar + wick Materials total
Woody Oud (reference) Candle-grade ₹54.37 ₹186.46 ₹240.84
White Royal Oud Candle-grade ₹97.24 ₹186.46 ₹283.70
Ban Magnet Perfume-grade ₹100.80 ₹186.46 ₹287.26
Santal Noir No candle load ₹109.44 ₹186.46 ₹295.90
Amber Oud Royal Perfume-grade ₹139.68 ₹186.46 ₹326.14
Leather-inspired (50 g price) Perfume-grade ₹160.08 ₹186.46 ₹346.54

Three things follow. First, oil is 23% of the materials with Woody Oud, 34% with White Royal Oud, 43% with Amber Oud Royal and 46% with the leather: the jar is the biggest single line for Woody Oud, White Royal Oud and Ban Magnet, and within a few rupees of the oil for Santal Noir. Second, moving from Woody Oud to White Royal Oud adds ₹42.86 per candle; moving to the leather adds ₹105.71. Third, the black jar costs ₹12.60 more per jar than the clear golden-lid 150 g jar (₹94.40); for a luxury masculine line, in our judgement that is money well spent.

Reading that against a retail price

Worked example with illustrative retail prices, not recommendations: at ₹1,499.00, the White Royal Oud candle's materials are 18.9% of the price, the Woody Oud candle's 16.1% and the leather candle's 23.1%. At ₹2,499.00, the Amber Oud Royal candle's materials are 13.1%. Labour, a gift box, freight, marketplace fees and GST all come out of the rest. A shipping carton such as the corrugated box (11 x 11 x 8 cm) adds ₹22.42 a candle from the pack of 50, taking the non-oil materials to ₹208.88. Full brand packaging is in the packaging collection.

Stock caveat on the black jar: the listing title for the Black Glass Jar with Black Lid (150 gram) reads "Deliveries Starting 5th Dec". It shows as available, but confirm the dispatch date on WhatsApp before you plan a launch around it. Other dark vessels are in the glass jars collection; check each listing's capacity before you reuse the 150 g maths.
Where the leather makes sense
A 40-candle numbered leather edition at 8% needs 480 g of oil: ₹6,403.20 at the 50 g price, bought as ten 50 g bottles (₹6,670.00). The store shows whether the 50 g is in stock, not how many bottles are behind it. Ask on WhatsApp how many 50 g bottles are available before you announce an edition size.

Naming, dupes and the legal line

An inspired oil is a scent. It is not a licence.

This is the part of a luxury masculine line that can cost more than every oil on this page put together. It is general guidance, not legal advice; if you are unsure, ask a trademark lawyer before you print.

What CSI's listing names are, and are not

Some CSI masculine listings carry a well-known perfume or brand name followed by "inspired". Those are CSI's product listing names. The oils are CSI's interpretations of a style; CSI is not affiliated with, endorsed by or licensed by any of those brands, and does not claim any oil reproduces a named fragrance. Buying the oil gives you no right to use the name.

What to keep off your products

Naming rules for a luxury masculine line
Safer practice on labels, listings and ads
Avoid Why Do instead
A perfume or brand name, in any form Trademarks belong to their owners Your own name: a place, a time, an object
"Dupe", "inspired by [brand]", "smells like [brand]" Uses the brand to sell your product Describe notes: "cardamom, suede, amber"
Look-alike bottles, colours or logos Trade dress can be protected too A vessel and label that are clearly yours
A real hotel, spa, store or perfume house as the scent source Implies an association that does not exist A mood or a room: "Study", "Verandah"
Claims of calm, sleep or mood benefits Fragrance oils are not essential oils or remedies Scent character and associations only

Descriptive note lists are fine: "saffron, oud, rose, ambergris" tells a customer exactly what they are buying without leaning on anyone else's name. So is a story: an Old Delhi library, a Coorg estate after rain, a Jaisalmer night. The naming and curation of a men's line as a set of five or six products is worked through in Best Fragrances for a Men's Candle Collection.

Mistake: using the supplier's listing name as the product name "because that is what the oil is called". Fix: treat every oil name, ours included, as an internal code. Your label carries your name, your notes and your batch number; the supplier name stays on your purchase records.

Building one luxury SKU, step by step

For one hero candle in a luxury men's line. The full collection plan, calendar and reorder triggers are in I Want a Masculine Candle Collection — Which Woody, Oud, Amber and Fresh Fragrance Oils Should I Sample?; this is the brief for a single product.

1
Write the idea in one line"Saffron and oud in a Lucknow study at night" is a brief; "a strong oud candle" is not. The line tells you which oil leads and what to leave out.
2
Choose the base oil from the candle-grade columnWhite Royal Oud or another oil whose page states a candle load. This gives you a starting range and a ceiling you can quote to a retailer.
3
Decide if you need an accentOnly if the base cannot deliver the idea. Ban Magnet for smoked rose, Amber Oud Royal for resin, Santal Noir for dry wood. Test the accent alone first, then blended, at the same total load.
4
Test three loads and one vessel6%, 8% and 10% in your final black jar with a C2 wick, cured for at least a week. The jar changes how a candle burns; test in the one you will sell. Wick choice depends on the jar's inside diameter, so run a melt-pool test; C1 and C2 are starting points, not prescriptions.
5
Cost it before you name itWork out materials per candle from this page's table, add labour, box, freight, fees and GST, and check the retail price still works. If it does not, drop the accent before you drop the vessel.
6
Name it, label it, document itYour own name, the notes, the batch number, the usual candle-care wording. Ask for MSDS and IFRA documentation on WhatsApp for every oil in the candle, and file it with the batch.
Valentine's Day, 14 February 2027: a men's luxury candle is a natural premium gift for him. Test in November, pour in January, cure for at least a week. Ask on WhatsApp for 500 g of your hero oil, black 150 g jars and a GST invoice with dispatch dates.
WhatsApp a Valentine's quote
The CSI principle
Interpret a style. Never borrow a name.
A luxury men's candle earns its price from restraint, a dry-down worth waiting for, a heavy jar and a name that is yours. None of that needs a famous perfume's name on the label.
"Spend on the oil only where it gives you a note nothing cheaper can. Spend on the jar every time."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia supplies every oil, jar and wick on this page and makes no finished candles of its own. This page advises against building a line on our most expensive oils, flags our only leather oil as limited, and tells you to keep our own brand-inspired listing names off your labels.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. Out-of-stock sizes (the leather-inspired 100 g and 1 kg; Royal Oud 100 g) are flagged as out of stock on that date, and the black jar's delivery note is quoted from its listing title.

Luxury positioning, the accent approach, the naming advice and the retail examples are our judgement, not legal or financial advice; CSI has no throw measurements for these oils. Brands can request bulk pricing, a GST invoice, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best luxury fragrance oils for men's candles?
At CSI: White Royal Oud as a candle-grade anchor ("6-10% for candles"), Santal Noir for dry sandalwood, and the perfume-grade Amber Oud Royal and Ban Magnet for resin and smoked rose. The leather-inspired listing works only for small editions: its 50 g is the only size in stock.
Is it legal to sell perfume dupe candles in India?
Using another brand's name or calling your candle a "dupe" of a named perfume risks trademark problems. Sell your own name and describe the notes instead. This is general guidance, not legal advice; ask a trademark lawyer if you are unsure.
What is the difference between perfume-grade and candle-grade fragrance oil?
On CSI's pages, candle-grade oils state a candle load (for example "6-10% for candles"); perfume-grade oils quote perfume usage rates such as 25%, 20% and 15%, which are not candle loads, or state nothing for candles. With perfume-grade oils you work inside the wax ceiling and do more testing yourself.
How much does it cost to make a luxury oud candle?
Worked example: 150 g at 8% in CSI 464, a black 150 g glass jar and a C2 wick costs ₹283.70 in materials with White Royal Oud, or ₹326.14 with Amber Oud Royal, excluding labour, freight, packaging and GST.
Which jar looks premium for a men's candle?
A dark, heavy vessel reads premium. CSI's Black Glass Jar with Black Lid (150 gram) is ₹1,070.00 for 10 (₹107.00 each), but its listing title says "Deliveries Starting 5th Dec", so confirm dispatch on WhatsApp.
Can I use perfume-grade oil at 20% in a candle?
No. The 20% on those pages is an EDP/EDT perfume rate. In a candle, the wax ceiling governs when the oil states no candle load: CSI 464 up to 10%, Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and CSI 468 up to 13%. Test from 6%.

Non-price figures: candle maths assume a 150 g candle with load as a percentage of total weight (8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts are floor(grams ÷ 12). For oils whose pages state no candle load, 8% is a worked example inside the wax ceiling. Wax ceilings (CSI 464 up to 10%; Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and CSI 468 up to 13%) are the wax pages' stated maximums and are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Retail prices of ₹1,499.00 and ₹2,499.00 are illustrative only. Per-candle costs exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST unless stated. Valentine's Day (14 February 2027) is a calendar date. Positioning and naming advice are editorial judgement.
