Commercial Fragrance · Diwali Schedule
Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026. Everything else in a festive run — the test, the order, the pour, the cure, the pack — has to fit in front of it. This page works the calendar backwards, day by day, and shows what to do if your testing starts late.
Mon 5 Oct
the date production oil, wax, wicks and jars need to be on your bench for stock ready on Sun 25 Oct · order date = this date minus the delivery time CSI confirms · working schedule, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
When should I order fragrance oil for Diwali 2026? On our working schedule, production materials should be in hand by Monday 5 October 2026. Your order date is that date minus the delivery time CSI confirms for your pincode. Ask on WhatsApp when you order.

When should I test Diwali scents? Test candles should be poured by Fri 25 Sep to allow a 7-day cure and 3 days of burn tests before the order. If you have not started, see starting late.

When should Diwali candles be ready? We assume Sun 25 Oct, two weeks before Diwali, for stock that is sold online or to shops. A second batch for local sales in Diwali week can be ready on Wed 4 Nov.

What if the durations do not match my workshop? Change them. The cure, pour and pack durations are working assumptions. The sensitivity grid in what moves the dates shows how the in-hand date shifts.
The short answer
Dates: Test pour Fri 25 Sep · decide Sun 4 Oct · materials in hand Mon 5 Oct · pour Tue 6 Oct–Mon 12 Oct · pack from Thu 22 Oct · ready Sun 25 Oct · Diwali Sun 8 Nov.
Assumptions: Ready 14 days before Diwali · 10-day cure · 7 pouring days · 3 packing days · 7-day test cure · 3 days of burn tests. Delivery time: confirm with CSI.
Second batch: For Diwali-week local sales: test by Mon 5 Oct · in hand Thu 15 Oct · pour Fri 16 Oct–Thu 22 Oct · ready Wed 4 Nov.
Shop: Fragrance Oils · Sandalwood · Midnight Bakhoor Royale · delivery confirmation on WhatsApp.

Read the chart from the right. Diwali is fixed; the selling window before it sets the ready date; packing, cure and pouring stack in front of that; and the materials must be on the bench before the first pour. The test block starting at the dashed line is the problem: on this schedule it begins tomorrow. The lower two bars show a second, later batch for Diwali-week sales.
Straight answer
When should candle businesses order fragrance oils for Diwali production?
Work backwards from Sunday 8 November 2026. If stock should be ready to sell two weeks before Diwali, that is Sun 25 Oct. Allow 3 days to pack, a 10-day cure and 7 pouring days, and the first pour falls on Tue 6 Oct. So production oil, wax, wicks and jars must be in hand by Mon 5 Oct, and your order date is that date minus the delivery time CSI confirms for your pincode. Before that, test candles need a 7-day cure and 3 days of burn tests, which puts the test pour on Fri 25 Sep, tomorrow. Every duration here is a working assumption; change any of them and the dates move. If you have already tested your scents, order production oil now. If you have not, keep the main run to proven scents and test new ones for a second batch, ready Wed 4 Nov for Diwali-week local sales. Restocks on popular festive sizes cannot be counted on late in October.
One line: fix the ready date first, then everything else is subtraction — and ask CSI for the one number you cannot subtract yourself, the delivery time.
If your festive scents are already proven, order them now. Sandalwood 1 kg at ₹5,026.80 covers 62 candles at 16 g. Before you pay, ask CSI to confirm delivery to your pincode against your in-hand date of Mon 5 Oct.

The back-schedule, day by day

Diwali is the one date in the plan that cannot move. Start there and subtract.

Today is Thursday 24 September 2026, 45 days before Diwali. The table sets out every stage of a festive run as dates, working backwards from Sun 8 Nov. The durations are working assumptions for a small or mid-sized soy container-candle workshop; the next section explains each. Delivery time is deliberately not included. It depends on your pincode and the order, and CSI confirms it when you order.

Working assumptions · adjust each duration to your workshop · delivery time to be confirmed with CSI
Diwali 2026 back-schedule
Stage Dates Before Diwali What happens Duration
Test pour Fri 25 Sep 44 days Pour test candles of every scent you are considering —
Test cure Fri 25 Sep → Fri 2 Oct 38 days Let tests cure before judging them 7 days
Burn tests and decision Fri 2 Oct – Sun 4 Oct 35 days Burn side by side; choose scents, load and wick 3 days
Production materials in hand Mon 5 Oct 34 days Oil, wax, wicks, jars on the bench. Order date = this date minus the delivery time CSI confirms Delivery: confirm with CSI
Production pours Tue 6 Oct – Mon 12 Oct 27 days Pour the run 7 days
Cure Mon 12 Oct → Thu 22 Oct 18 days Cure after the last pour 10 days
Pack and label Thu 22 Oct – Sat 24 Oct 15 days Lids, labels, boxes, dispatch prep 3 days
Ready to sell or dispatch Sun 25 Oct 14 days Stock available two weeks before Diwali —
Diwali Sun 8 Nov 0 days Sunday 8 November 2026 —

Three dates matter most. Sun 25 Oct is when finished stock should be ready, because Diwali candles are bought in the weeks before the festival, and online and trade orders need time to travel. Mon 5 Oct is when all production materials must be on your bench. Fri 25 Sep is when test candles should be poured, so the decision on scents and loads is made before the order. If you are reading this on 24 September and your tests are already done, you are on schedule. If not, the section on starting late is for you.

The CSI principle
Fix the ready date. Everything else is subtraction.
Most late Diwali runs are late because the maker started from the order date and worked forwards. Start from the date stock must be ready, subtract each stage honestly, and the order date falls out of the arithmetic — minus the one number you must ask for, the delivery time.

Where each duration comes from

None of these durations is a rule, and each is worth checking against your own workshop. Ready 14 days before Diwali assumes some sales go by courier or to shops, which need lead time. If you sell only in person, a later ready date works; see the second batch below. A 10-day cure is a middle figure for soy container candles; many makers cure for one to two weeks, and your own tests tell you when the scent throw settles. 7 pouring days suits a run of a few hundred candles; scale it to your pouring capacity. 3 packing days covers lids, labels, boxes and dispatch preparation.

The test durations are the ones most often skipped. A test candle burned after two days is not the candle your customer burns after two weeks, so a 7-day test cure is the minimum we would plan. 3 days of burn tests lets you burn each test for several hours on more than one day, which is how you see the full melt pool and any tunnelling. How to Sample Candle Fragrance Oils Before Placing a Wholesale Order covers the testing method. Delivery time is the one duration we do not assume. We will not guess a courier time; ask CSI to confirm it for your pincode when you order.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. A supplier would rather you ordered everything today, tested or not. We do not recommend buying production quantities of an untested scent for Diwali. If the test disappoints, the oil is already bought, and a festive run poured from a scent you do not trust is a worse outcome than a smaller range. Order production oil now for scents you have already tested; for new ones, order testers now and decide after the burn.

Starting late: four options

If your tests are not poured by Fri 25 Sep, the full cycle no longer fits before Sun 25 Oct. That is not the end of Diwali. It is a choice.

Late testing is common, and there are four sensible ways to handle it. They differ in how much risk you carry and when the candles are ready. None requires skipping Diwali.

Dates from this page's working schedule · delivery time excluded
Four ways to run Diwali if testing starts late
Option What you order and when Ready Risk
A · Proven scents only Order production oil now; in hand by Mon 5 Oct Ready Sun 25 Oct Lowest. Scents already tested in your jar and wax
B · Proven plus one or two new scents Order production for proven scents now; testers for new scents now; new-scent production only after tests Proven: Sun 25 Oct. New: second batch, below Low for the main run; new scents arrive later
C · Second batch for Diwali week Pour new-scent tests by Mon 5 Oct; production in hand by Thu 15 Oct; pours Fri 16 Oct – Thu 22 Oct Ready Wed 4 Nov Suits local and in-person sales in Diwali week, not courier orders
D · Order untested production oil now Buy production quantities of a new scent before testing Ready Sun 25 Oct Highest. If the test disappoints, the oil is bought. Keep to small quantities

For most businesses, B and C together are the practical answer. Pour the main run from scents you already trust, ready Sun 25 Oct. Test one or two new scents now, and pour them as a second, smaller batch for Diwali-week sales, ready Wed 4 Nov. The second batch schedule is: test candles poured by Mon 5 Oct, materials in hand by Thu 15 Oct, pours Fri 16 Oct to Thu 22 Oct, a 10-day cure, and packing from Sun 1 Nov. That batch suits stalls, local shops and in-person orders; it is too late for most courier deliveries before Diwali.

The late-season mistake. Shortening the cure to catch up. If the production run slips by five days, the temptation is to pack on day five of the cure instead of day 10. Customers burn the candle once and judge the scent. Cut the range, not the cure: drop a scent from the main run and move it to the second batch.

What moves the dates

The two assumptions that move the in-hand date most are how early stock must be ready and how long you cure. The grid shows the date production materials must be in hand for each combination, with 7 pouring days and 3 packing days fixed. Any date on or before today is marked as passed.

Materials-in-hand date · 7 pouring days and 3 packing days fixed · working assumptions
In-hand date by ready date and cure length
Stock ready 7-day cure 10-day cure 14-day cure
21 days before (Sun 18 Oct) Thu 1 Oct Mon 28 Sep Thu 24 Sep (passed)
14 days before (Sun 25 Oct) Thu 8 Oct Mon 5 Oct Thu 1 Oct
7 days before (Sun 1 Nov) Thu 15 Oct Mon 12 Oct Thu 8 Oct

If you need stock three weeks before Diwali and cure for two weeks, the in-hand date has already passed; that plan now needs a shorter run or a later ready date. If you sell mainly in Diwali week and cure for a week, you have until Thu 15 Oct to have materials in hand. Find your row and column, then subtract the delivery time CSI confirms. That is your order date.

Do not assume a late restock
Popular festive oils and sizes can sell through in October, and restocks that late cannot be counted on. If a scent is central to your run, secure it early even while you finalise smaller lines. Ask on WhatsApp if you need to know whether a size is expected back; if no date is given, plan without it.

Testing costs and starting sizes

How quickly you can test depends on the smallest size an oil comes in. Most festive oils have a 15 g tester, which is cheap and scents one 200 g test candle at 7.5%. Some start at 100 g, and one is in stock only at 500 g. That changes what testing costs and, when the calendar is tight, whether a scent is worth testing at all this year.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a timing page, the supplier's easy line is "order everything now". This page tells you not to buy production quantities of untested scents, not to shorten the cure to catch up, and not to rely on a late restock.

Every price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026; wick and jar prices are those verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026. Dates are calendar arithmetic from Diwali on Sunday 8 November 2026 using the durations stated. Out-of-stock sizes are marked, never priced as buyable.

Every duration — ready date, cure, pouring days, packing days, test cure and burn tests — is a working assumption to adjust to your workshop. Delivery times are not stated or assumed; CSI confirms them per order. For delivery confirmation, quotes, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

When should I order candle supplies for Diwali 2026?
On our working schedule, production materials should be in hand by Monday 5 October 2026 for stock ready on Sun 25 Oct. Subtract the delivery time CSI confirms for your pincode to get your order date.
How long before Diwali should candles be made?
On our assumptions, pour Tue 6 Oct–Mon 12 Oct, cure 10 days, pack 3 days, ready Sun 25 Oct. For in-person Diwali-week sales, a second batch can pour Fri 16 Oct–Thu 22 Oct and be ready Wed 4 Nov.
How long should soy candles cure before Diwali sales?
This series assumes 10 days for production and at least 7 days for test candles. Many makers cure one to two weeks. Your own tests are the best guide; do not shorten the cure to catch up on a late run.
How long does fragrance oil delivery take?
It depends on your pincode and the order, so we do not state a figure here. Ask CSI on WhatsApp to confirm delivery against your in-hand date before you pay.
Is it too late to test new scents for Diwali?
Too late for the main run if you have not started, on our schedule. Test them now for a second batch ready Wed 4 Nov for Diwali-week local sales, and pour the main run from scents you have already tested.
Will popular Diwali fragrance oils be restocked in October?
Restocks that late cannot be counted on, and no restock dates are published here. Mogra and Rajnigandha are out of stock now. Secure the scents your run depends on early, and ask on WhatsApp about any specific size.
