Candle Fragrance Oil Price Per Kg in India

Each table below covers one price band. The rank is the oil's position among all 73 in-stock kilos, cheapest first. The "oil in a 200 g candle" column is the kilo price × 0.016, the fragrance cost of one 200 g candle at an 8% load. The last column compares the kilo's price per gram with the same oil's 100 g. A positive figure means the kilo is cheaper per gram. A figure near zero means you pay the same rate at 100 g, so the kilo buys convenience rather than a lower price. Where two oils share a price they share a band, and the order between them is alphabetical.

The value floor is small and mostly fresh, fruity or simple floral: lemon, citronella, rose, eucalyptus-spearmint, cucumber, melon. All six have a kilo saving of 5% or more. Citronella is the extreme case, 62.3% cheaper per gram at 1 kg than at 100 g. That makes its 100 g one of the worst-value packs in the collection and its kilo one of the best. The smallest are Citrus Lemon at 5.6% and Cucumber Green Tea at 5.7%.

This is the largest band below the median, and it is where most everyday candle ranges can be built without fragrance dominating the cost. Fruits, gourmands, a jasmine, a gardenia, a woody oud and a coffee all sit here at ₹56.64 to ₹79.30 of oil per candle. Several have real kilo savings: Honeydew Melon is already in band 1, but Mango Coconut (20.7%), Verbena (20.0%), Roasted Coconut (19.2%) and Fallen Leaves (10.0%) are here. Two, Pomegranate Splash and Love Spell, cost fractionally more per gram at the kilo than at 100 g. Chocolate Fudge is in stock at 1 kg but its 100 g is out of stock.

The median kilo, ₹5,999.00, sits in this band, shared by Spicy Raspberry and Wild Berries. Several of the best-known profiles in the collection are here: Lavender, Sandalwood, Bergamot Amber, Cinnamon and Pumpkin Spice. Pricing in this band is split. Eight of the fourteen are flat or nearly flat: Sandalwood, Autumn and Palo Santo cost exactly the same per gram at 100 g and 1 kg, Spicy Raspberry and Wild Berries cost fractionally more at the kilo, and Lavender, Bergamot Amber and Dark Vanilla Oud save 2.9% to 3.5%. The other six have real savings: Lemongrass and Lime at 11.9%, Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice and Ylang Ylang at 10.0%, and Forever Red (BBW Inspired) and Spicy Cinnamon at 7.0%.

The largest band of all holds rich vanillas, Indian florals, resinous woods, ouds, smoke and a run of newer fruity and floral blends. Oil here costs ₹106.48 to ₹143.36 per 200 g candle, so fragrance is around 36% to 43% of a candle's material cost in our standard example. Five oils share the ₹7,999.00 price point. Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood look like band 4 at the kilo, but their 500 g packs are ₹5.17 a gram, which is band 3 pricing. That route is covered below.

The top band is dominated by oils modelled on well-known perfumes, listed under the store's own names in the Fine Perfume Fragrances and BBW Inspired collections. The kilo is priced almost exactly ten times the 100 g for nearly all of them, so there is no bulk reason to jump to the kilo early. A 200 g candle carries ₹145.28 to ₹384.90 of oil. These oils can carry a premium range, but only one priced for them. ₹/kg to ₹/candle

Oil per candle = candle weight × load. Oil cost per candle = oil grams × (price per kg ÷ 1,000). For a 200 g candle at 8% that is 16 g, so the multiplier is 0.016. For other candle sizes the multiplier changes, and so does the number of candles a kilo makes. The table below runs the same three kilos, the cheapest, the median and the dearest, through five common candle sizes, all at 8%.

Two things follow. First, candles per kilo depend only on candle size and load, not on the oil. A kilo makes 62.50 candles of 200 g at 8% whichever oil it is. Second, the difference between cheap and dear oils scales with candle size. In a 100 g votive-sized candle, the gap between the cheapest and dearest kilo is ₹169.79 per candle. In a 300 g candle it is ₹509.38. If you make large candles, the kilo price matters more to your margin than it does to a maker of small ones.

Load is a performance choice first. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13% and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 up to 10%. Those are the wax makers' stated formulation maximums, not regulatory limits. Going from 8% to 10% makes a kilo last 50.00 candles instead of 62.50, so it raises the cost of every candle by a quarter. Other routes to a kilo

The kilo pack is one way to buy a kilo. Two 500 g packs, or ten 100 g bottles, are others. For most oils the price is almost the same whichever route you take. For a handful, the kilo pack is not the cheapest kilo, and for a few oils it is the only size out of stock. This table covers both cases.

For Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood, the 500 g is ₹5.17 a gram and the kilo ₹6.87. Two 500 g packs save ₹1,699.20 per kilo, so buy them that way. For Vetiver, Sacred Sandal Ember, Butterfly and Into The Night, the kilo is out of stock but the 500 g is in stock, so two 500 g packs are the only way to buy a kilo today. For the other oils that list both sizes, the kilo pack is either level with two 500 g packs to within a rupee or two, or cheaper by up to ₹590.00 (Cinnamon and Pumpkin Spice).

Choosing a kilo by band

Which band you buy from is a positioning decision, not a thrift decision. A value-floor kilo in a 200 g candle is about ₹45 to ₹54 of oil. A premium-band kilo is ₹106 to ₹143. The table below reads each band against the candle you are selling. It is reasoning, not market data: we do not publish what customers pay for finished candles.

Shopping list

One kilo from each of three bands, with wax for all 187.5 candles they make, is a sensible way to put a costed three-tier range on the shelf. Plan 3–5% extra for pour loss and test burns; that is a working assumption.

Three kilos of oil make 187.5 candles; 187.5 candles need 34.5 kg of wax at 184 g each. The 30 kg above covers 163 candles, so add one 5 kg pack at ₹2,995.00 if you plan to pour every gram, for ₹37,498.80 in total. The average oil cost across the three is ₹88.04 per candle. Wicks and jars are extra and depend on your containers. Material cost excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST.
