Most candle businesses assume wholesale means a big discount on the kilo. On CSI's premium oils, the listed kilo is usually priced within a rupee or two of ten 100 g bottles. This page shows the real break, oil by oil, the two oils where a 500 g beats the kilo, and how to ask for a quote on the volumes the listed packs do not cover.
6.9%
saving from buying a month's 6.4 kg of four premium oils in the best listed packs instead of 100 g bottles (₹50,291.20 → ₹46,818.80) · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Does CSI sell luxury fragrance oils wholesale? CSI lists premium oils up to 1 kg per pack. Larger or mixed orders are quoted on WhatsApp; no discount figure is published. Ask with your oils, quantities and delivery location.

Is the 1 kg cheaper per gram than 100 g on premium oils? Rarely by much. Of 34 premium and near-premium oils in stock at 1 kg, only 2 save 5% or more (Spicy Cinnamon and Forever Red (BBW Inspired), both 7.0%). 8 are fractionally dearer per gram at 1 kg. See the breaks.

Where is the real saving then? On two oils the 500 g beats everything: Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood are ₹5.17 a gram at 500 g against ₹6.87 at 1 kg. For the rest, the saving is stock security and fewer orders.

What should I send for a wholesale quote? Each oil, the size and quantity per month, your delivery city, whether you need a GST invoice, and which documents (MSDS, IFRA) you need. Details in asking for a quote.
The short answer
Kilo breaks: 34 premium and near-premium oils at 1 kg: 2 save 5% or more, 5 save 3–5%, 4 save 1–2%, 15 within ±1%, 8 fractionally dearer.
500 g anomaly: Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood: 500 g ₹5.17/g, 1 kg ₹6.87/g. Two 500 g packs cost ₹5,168.40 against ₹6,867.60 for the kilo.
Monthly example: Four oils, 1.6 kg each: ₹50,291.20 as 100 g bottles, ₹46,818.80 in the best listed packs, of which ₹2,690.40 is Sage and Cedarwood's 500 g effect.

Premium oils per gram at 100 g and at 1 kg — the lines barely move 100 g 1 kg Spicy Cinnamon ₹6.99 ₹6.50 (7.0%) Neroli Signature Grade ₹7.99 ₹7.60 (4.9%) Coffee Vanilla Tobacco ₹8.99 ₹8.60 (4.3%) Raat Ki Rani ₹7.00 ₹6.77 (3.2%) Juicy Orange ₹7.49 ₹7.50 (-0.1%) Smoked Rose Royale ₹7.99 ₹8.00 (-0.1%) White Royal Oud ₹8.10 ₹8.10 (-0.0%) Gilli Mitti ₹8.96 ₹8.96 (0.0%) Santal Noir ₹9.19 ₹9.12 (0.8%) Nine premium or near-premium oils. Only Spicy Cinnamon (on the ₹6.50 line) drops 7%; most are flat or within 5%.
Each line joins one oil's per-gram price at 100 g to its price at 1 kg (CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026). A steep downward line would be a wholesale discount; almost none are steep. The percentage is the 1 kg saving per gram against the 100 g. Spicy Cinnamon sits on the ₹6.50 premium line at ₹6,499.00 a kilo and is included for contrast.
Straight answer
Can a candle business buy luxury fragrance oils wholesale, and what does it actually save?
Yes, but set your expectations by the listed prices, not by the word wholesale. CSI sells premium oils in packs up to 1 kg and quotes larger or mixed orders on WhatsApp. No discount figure is published, so nobody can promise you a percentage in advance. On the listed packs, the kilo rarely saves much. Of 34 premium and near-premium oils in stock at 1 kg, only 2 are 5% or more cheaper per gram than their 100 g (Spicy Cinnamon and Forever Red (BBW Inspired), both on the ₹6.50 line, at 7.0%). Inside the premium tier the best is Neroli Signature Grade at 4.9%, and 8 oils are a fraction dearer per gram at 1 kg. The biggest listed saving is not the kilo at all. Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood cost ₹5.17 a gram at 500 g against ₹6.87 at 1 kg. Across a month of four premium oils, 1.6 kg each, the best listed packs cut the bill from ₹50,291.20 to ₹46,818.80. That is 6.9%, and most of it comes from that one 500 g. Wholesale buying mainly gets you stock security, fewer orders and a quote conversation for volumes above the listed packs.
One line: compare per gram at 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg for every oil, buy the cheapest listed combination, and ask on WhatsApp for anything beyond it.
The one clear saving on the premium list: Sage and Cedarwood 500 g at ₹2,584.20 (₹5.17 a gram) against ₹6,867.60 for the 1 kg. Two 500 g packs save ₹1,699.20 on a kilo. Saffron Cedarwood is priced the same way.

The real price breaks, oil by oil

A wholesale discount you can read off the price list is worth something. One you only hear about is worth nothing until it is quoted.

Take every oil in stock at 1 kg at ₹6.50 a gram or more: the 32 in the premium tiers and the two that sit exactly on the line at ₹6,499.00. For each, compare the per-gram price at 1 kg with the per-gram price at 100 g. That percentage is the only listed wholesale discount there is. Here is how the 34 oils fall:

34 oils in stock at 1 kg at ₹6.50/g or more · 1 kg vs 100 g per gram · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026

The picture is flat. Across the whole Fragrance Oils collection, 24 of 91 oils show a 1 kg saving of 5% or more, and most of those are value oils such as Citronella and Honeydew Melon. In the premium tier the savings shrink. The two oils at 7.0% are exactly on the ₹6.50 line, and nothing inside the tier reaches 5%. 8 oils, including Smoked Rose Royale and Juicy Orange, cost ₹7,999.00 or ₹7,499.00 a kilo against ₹799.00 or ₹749.00 for 100 g. That makes the kilo about 0.1% dearer per gram.

Per gram at each size · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026

Juicy Orange ₹7.49 ₹7.50 ₹7.50 -0.1%
Smoked Rose Royale ₹7.99 ₹8.00 ₹8.00 -0.1%

Look at the 500 g column. For Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood, the 500 g costs ₹5.17 a gram, 25.8% below the 100 g and 24.7% below the 1 kg. That is the largest listed saving anywhere in the premium tier. Whether it is a deliberate price or a listing quirk, it is the listed price on the pull date, and two 500 g packs are the cheapest way to buy a kilo of either oil. Check it on the product page before you order, because a listing like this can change.

Read three columns, not one
Before any premium oil goes onto a wholesale order, write down its per-gram price at 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg. The cheapest per gram is not always the biggest pack. Occasionally, as with Saffron Cedarwood's 15 g, even the smallest pack is not dearer. Two minutes with a calculator is worth more than any assumption about bulk.

A month's buying, four ways

Here is a worked month for a small luxury candle business: four premium scents, 100 candles each, 200 g at 8%. That is 16 g of oil per candle and 1.6 kg per scent, 6.4 kg in all. The table prices each scent four ways, using only listed packs. The last column is the saving of the cheapest exact-quantity option over buying everything in 100 g bottles.

1.6 kg per oil · listed packs only · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Four premium oils, four ways to buy 1.6 kg
Oil 16 × 100 g 1 kg + 6 × 100 g 3 × 500 g + 100 g 2 × 1 kg (400 g spare) Best exact saving
Neroli Signature Grade ₹12,784.00 ₹12,393.00 ₹12,496.00 ₹15,198.00 3.1%
Coffee Vanilla Tobacco ₹14,384.00 ₹13,993.00 ₹14,096.00 ₹17,198.00 2.7%
Juicy Orange ₹11,984.00 ₹11,993.00 ₹11,996.00 ₹14,998.00 0.0%
Sage and Cedarwood ₹11,139.20 ₹11,044.80 ₹8,448.80 ₹13,735.20 24.2%

Three of the four oils barely move. Juicy Orange costs a few rupees more as a kilo plus 100 g bottles than as 100 g bottles alone, because its kilo is fractionally dearer per gram. Neroli Signature Grade and Coffee Vanilla Tobacco save about 3% at best. Sage and Cedarwood is the exception: three 500 g packs and a 100 g save ₹2,690.40 on one oil. Across the month, the best listed packs cost ₹46,818.80 against ₹50,291.20 in 100 g bottles, a saving of ₹3,472.40. ₹2,690.40 of that is the one 500 g quirk.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. The "2 × 1 kg" column is how many businesses actually buy: round up to kilos and keep the spare. On these four oils it costs ₹61,129.20 for 8 kg, when the month needed 6.4 kg. The extra 1.6 kg is working capital sitting on a shelf. It is not waste if the scents keep selling, but it is not a wholesale saving either. We would rather you bought what the month needs and reordered, and asked for a quote once your volumes outgrow the listed packs.

What does this mean per candle? Very little, which is the point. At the 100 g rate a Neroli Signature Grade candle carries ₹127.84 of oil. At the 1 kg rate it carries ₹121.58. The difference is ₹6.26 on a luxury candle whose material cost is over ₹300. Wholesale buying on the listed catalogue is a supply decision far more than a margin decision. For the margin side, look at the oil choice itself: the luxury hub shows how much more a switch of oil moves the candle's cost than a switch of pack size.

Asking for a wholesale quote

A quote request with quantities gets a quote. One without gets a question back.

Once a scent runs past a kilo or two a month, or you are buying several oils together, a quote is worth asking for. CSI handles these on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926. No volume discount figure is published, so the quote is the only way to find out whether one applies to your order. Do not build a price list on an assumed percentage. Here is what to send so the first reply is a price:

1
List each oil by its exact store titleSeveral oils have similar names: Neroli and Neroli Signature Grade, Wild Berries and Wild Berry, Spicy Raspberry and its second listing. Copy the title from the product page.
2
Give the quantity per oil and how often"1.6 kg of Neroli Signature Grade a month" is quotable. "Bulk" is not. If you know a festive peak, give that separately.
3
Say which sizes you can acceptSome businesses want 1 kg bottles for handling; others would take 500 g. If an oil's 1 kg is out of stock, ask whether larger quantities can be supplied another way.
4
Give the delivery city and GST detailsFreight and GST are outside the listed prices, and our per-candle figures exclude both. Ask for them to be shown on the quote.
5
Ask for documents on the same messageMSDS and IFRA documentation for each oil, and a GST invoice. You will need them for stockists and corporate buyers, and they are easier to collect with the order.
6
Compare the quote with the listed ladderWork the quote out per gram and set it against the 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg prices on this page. That tells you what the quote is actually worth.
The quote nobody checked. A business asks for a wholesale price on 5 kg of a premium oil, gets a figure per kilo back, and accepts it because it sounds like a bulk rate. Nobody works it out per gram and compares it with the listed 500 g or 100 g. For an oil like Sage and Cedarwood, the listed 500 g is already ₹5.17 a gram. Any quote above that is worse than the price list. The fix takes a minute: divide the quote by the grams, then set it beside the listed ladder.

Businesses buying for festive and corporate orders should also read where to buy fragrance oils in bulk for festive and corporate manufacturing. Soy-focused businesses will find the same method applied in wholesale fragrance oils for soy candle businesses, and jar businesses in wholesale fragrance oils for jar candle businesses.

What wholesale does and does not include

It helps to be precise about what CSI publishes, so nobody plans on something that does not exist. Published: listed pack prices from 15 g to 1 kg, stock status by size, and wax, wick and jar prices. Available on request: GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, and quotes beyond the listed packs. Not published anywhere in our data: a minimum wholesale order, a discount percentage, free-shipping thresholds, delivery times, credit terms or a "manufacturer price". If a quote includes any of these, get it in writing on the quote.

There is also no stated minimum order for the listed packs. The smallest in-stock size of each oil is effectively its minimum, so a wholesale buyer can still top up a single oil with a 100 g between larger orders. That flexibility is worth using. Topping up Neroli Signature Grade with a 100 g costs ₹7.99 a gram, against ₹7.60 in the kilo. That is 39 paise a gram, or ₹6.26 on a 16 g candle, which is cheap insurance against running out.

The CSI principle
Wholesale is a quote, not an assumption.
The listed premium kilo is usually priced like ten 100 g bottles. Buy the cheapest listed combination per gram, keep top-up sizes in reserve, and put everything beyond the listed packs to a quote with quantities attached.
Diwali falls on 8 November 2026. A business supplying festive or corporate orders should have its premium oils quoted and ordered by mid-October, because popular sizes can sell through. Send your oils and monthly quantities. GST invoicing and IFRA documentation can come with the quote.

A wholesale-ready monthly order

Here is the month from the table above, bought in the cheapest exact-quantity listed packs, with wax, wicks and jars for 400 candles. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks: 400 × 184 g is 73.6 kg, or 77.28 kg with 5%, so eight 10 kg packs (80 kg). Cotton Braided Wicks: the 500-pack at ₹6,000.00. White Matte Glass Jars: 80 packs of 5.

That is ₹1,29,130.80 for 400 candles, or ₹322.83 a candle, before labour, packaging, freight and GST. The oil here has no allowance for pour loss, so plan 3–5% extra as a working assumption, or keep a 100 g of each oil in reserve. This is exactly the kind of order to put to a quote. Send it on WhatsApp as it stands, and compare the reply per gram with the table. For volumes several times this size, Bulk Premium Fragrance Oils for Luxury Candle Manufacturers covers bulk manufacturing runs and Buy 1 Kg Premium Fragrance Oils for Luxury Candle Production covers the kilo decision oil by oil.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A wholesale page is where a supplier is most tempted to promise a discount. This page does not, because none is published. It shows that most premium kilos are priced like ten 100 g bottles, that some are fractionally dearer, and that one of our biggest listed savings is a 500 g rather than a kilo.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026. Wick prices are from the 25 September 2026 pull, and the White Matte Glass Jar price is the one verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026. Savings percentages compare the per-gram prices of the same oil across its listed sizes. They are plain arithmetic, shown to one decimal place.

The 400-candle month, the 8% load and the pack combinations are illustrative. The 500 g prices for Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood are as listed on the pull date. Confirm them on the product page before ordering. For a wholesale quote, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

What is the wholesale price of luxury fragrance oil in India?
At CSI, premium oils cost ₹6.50 to ₹24.06 a gram at the listed 1 kg (₹6,499.00 to ₹24,056.00 a kilo). Larger orders are quoted on WhatsApp; no discount figure is published, so ask with quantities.
How much discount do you get buying fragrance oil in bulk?
On listed packs, usually little. In the premium tier the kilo saves 0–4.9% per gram against 100 g, and 8 oils are fractionally dearer at 1 kg. The biggest listed saving is Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood at 500 g. Anything beyond that is by quote.
What is the minimum order for wholesale fragrance oils?
No minimum order is stated. The smallest in-stock size of each oil is effectively its minimum. Quotes beyond the listed packs are handled on WhatsApp, with no published threshold.
Is it cheaper to buy 500 g or 1 kg fragrance oil?
For most oils they cost the same per gram. For Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood, the 500 g is cheaper (₹5.17 against ₹6.87 a gram). For Neroli Signature Grade and Coffee Vanilla Tobacco, the 1 kg is slightly cheaper. Check all three sizes.
Do wholesale fragrance oils come with IFRA certificates?
IFRA and MSDS documentation are available on request. Ask on the same WhatsApp message as your quote, for each oil you are ordering. Use the certificate and the wax maker's stated maximum to set your load.
Can I get a GST invoice on a wholesale fragrance order?
Yes, GST invoicing is available. Give your GST details when you request the quote. Our per-candle figures exclude GST, freight, labour and packaging, so add them in your own costing.

Non-price figures and assumptions: The 34 oils are those with an in-stock 1 kg at ₹6.50 a gram or more (32 premium-tier oils plus Spicy Cinnamon and Forever Red at ₹6,499.00). Savings are 1 − (1 kg ₹/g ÷ 100 g ₹/g). Collection-wide break statistics (24 of 91 oils saving 5% or more) are from the same pull. The monthly scenario (four oils × 100 candles × 16 g) is illustrative. Material cost excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST. "Plan 3–5% extra" is a working assumption. Fragrance-load ceilings of up to 13% (Luxury Soy Wax Chunks) and up to 10% (CSI 464) are the wax makers' stated formulation maximums, not regulatory limits. No ceiling is quoted in this series for Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468, Coconut Wax or Soy Butter Wax, so 6–10% is used only as a labelled test range for those waxes. Prices and availability change, and the linked product pages are always authoritative.
