CSI Collection Buying · Clean & Fresh
Clean is five different scents: sea air, cut cucumber, lemon leaf, cold mint and clean skin. Here is the one CSI oil for each, what it costs per gram, and the honest answer on linen, cotton and laundry.
₹1,236.21
five clean-family oils × 50 g — enough to test each at 6%, 8% and 10% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What does "clean" mean for a candle fragrance? Not one note. Five families read as clean when they burn: aquatic (sea air, ozone), green (cucumber, green tea), citrus-herbal (verbena, lemon peel), cool herbal (eucalyptus, mint) and soft musk (the quiet, just-showered base). A clean candle is one of these, or two of them layered, with very little sweetness.

Which CSI oils should I buy for a clean range? One per family: Blue Ocean, Cucumber Green Tea, Verbena, Eucalyptus Spearmint and Lavender. All five are in stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026 and every page states a candle load that tops out at 10%.

Does CSI sell Fresh Linen, Clean Cotton or Laundry fragrance oil? No. On 24 September 2026 no oil with those names, or described that way, is listed. We explain what to buy instead below, and each has its own page.

What does the first order cost? The five oils at 50 g are ₹1,236.21. With 3 kg of wax, 20 jars, wicks and stickers, the whole 20-candle test basket is ₹4,864.41, or ₹243.22 per test candle before freight and GST.
The short answer
The idea: clean is a family choice, not a product name. Pick the family your customer means by "clean" and buy the oil that states those notes.
The shortlist: Blue Ocean (aquatic), Cucumber Green Tea (green), Verbena (citrus-herbal), Eucalyptus Spearmint (cool herbal), Lavender (soft musk).
The gap: no linen, cotton, laundry, white tea or stand-alone musk oil is listed. Blue Ocean plus Lavender is the nearest pair; ask on WhatsApp if a linen note is essential.
The buy: 50 g of each (₹1,236.21), or a lean three-oil start at ₹635.81. Nothing at 1 kg until a burn test is passed.
The clean compass: five families, five CSI oils Each column is one way a candle reads as "clean". Notes as stated on the CSI product page; price per gram at the 50 g size. AQUATIC reads as sea air, ozone Blue Ocean stated notes sea salt, ozone; jasmine, lily of the valley; drift- wood, musk ₹4.94/g stated load up to 10% GREEN reads as cut cucumber, tea Cucumber Green Tea stated notes cucumber, green tea leaves; jasmine, lemon; clean musk, light woods ₹3.53/g stated load 8–10% (see text) CITRUS-HERBAL reads as lemon peel, leaf Verbena stated notes crisp lemony verbena with herbal undertones ₹6.61/g stated load up to 10% soy COOL HERBAL reads as mint, eucalyptus Eucalyptus Spearmint stated notes crisp eucalyptus, cool spearmint ₹4.25/g stated load up to 10% soy SOFT MUSK reads as clean skin, calm Lavender stated notes fresh lavender; herbal green; soft musk base ₹5.40/g stated load 6–10% NOT LISTED BY CSI ON 24 SEPTEMBER 2026 Fresh Linen · Clean Cotton · Fresh Laundry — no oil with these names or descriptions is in the catalogue. They are blends of the columns above (aquatic + soft musk + a little citrus or floral). Nearest routes: 1633, 1634, 1635. Also absent: a white tea oil and a stand-alone white musk oil. Five-oil 50 g set: ₹1,236.21 for 250 g · CSI live pricing, verified 24 September 2026
The clean compass. Five families, each mapped to the one CSI oil whose page states those notes. The dashed band is the honest part: three styles buyers often search for by name (linen, cotton, laundry) are blends of these families, not products CSI lists.
Straight answer
I want a range of clean, fresh-smelling candles. Which CSI fragrance oils do I buy first?
Buy one oil per clean family, 50 g each: Blue Ocean (₹247.00), Cucumber Green Tea (₹176.41), Verbena (₹330.40), Eucalyptus Spearmint (₹212.40) and Lavender (₹270.00). That is ₹1,236.21 for 250 g of oil, enough to pour each at 6%, 8% and 10% in a 150 g jar with a retest candle to spare. They cover the five ways a candle can read as clean, and every page states a candle load reaching 10%, which is also the stated ceiling of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464. If your customers really mean "fresh laundry" when they say clean, none of these is labelled that way, because CSI does not list such an oil; Blue Ocean with Lavender is the nearest place to start, and the three linen, cotton and laundry pages go further.
One line: decide which clean your customer means, buy the one oil that states it, and test the five side by side before a single kilogram.
Lowest per gram of the five at 50 g. Cucumber Green Tea 50 g is ₹176.41 (₹3.53 per gram), four 150 g candles at 8%. Cucumber and green tea on top, jasmine and lemon in the heart, clean musk and light woods underneath.
Buy Cucumber Green Tea 50 g — ₹176.41

The five families that read as clean

Ask ten customers what "clean" smells like and you will get five answers. Luckily, only five.

"Clean" is one of the least specific words in candle buying. A customer in Mumbai might mean a sea breeze; one in Bengaluru might mean cucumber water at a salon; a corporate gifting client might mean "nothing that gives anyone a headache". Before you buy any oil, write down which of these five families your range is for. Each one smells different in the jar, burns differently, and suits a different jar, price and season.

1 · Aquatic: the air after rain, the sea at a distance

Ozone, sea salt, marine accords, watery florals such as lily of the valley, and a pale driftwood or musk base. In our experience it is the family many people point to when they say "fresh", and the one closest to what linen and laundry fragrances are built on. At CSI that is Blue Ocean Fragrance Oil, whose page states "sea salt and ozone top notes, jasmine and lily of the valley heart, and driftwood and musk base". The brand-inspired marine listing is dearer and is priced out in Clean and Fresh Candle Fragrance Oils Wholesale.

2 · Green: cucumber, tea leaves, cut stems

Watery-green rather than salty: cucumber, green tea, crushed leaves, sometimes a little jasmine. This is the "salon towel" or "spa water" version of clean, and its shortlisted oil is the cheapest of the five per gram at 50 g. Cucumber Green Tea lists "Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves" on top, "Delicate jasmine, hints of lemon" in the heart and "Clean musk, light woods" underneath: a complete pyramid.

3 · Citrus-herbal: lemon peel with a leaf in it

Sharp and bright: lemon, lime, verbena, lemongrass. Pure citrus reads as "kitchen clean"; add an herbal edge and it reads as "clean house". Verbena Fragrance Oil is described as "Crisp lemony verbena with herbal undertones". Two siblings sit in this family too: Citrus Lemon Fragrance Oil (lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, mandarin) is cheaper and louder, and Lemongrass and Lime adds ginger and a soft musk base.

4 · Cool herbal: eucalyptus and mint

The clean of a freshly mopped floor or a cold shower: eucalyptus, mint, rosemary, camphor-edged leaves. It is the most assertive family and the one people either want in every room or cannot stand. Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil is "combining crisp eucalyptus with cool spearmint", and its page describes it as IFRA-certified (the page's wording; ask for the documents on WhatsApp).

5 · Soft musk: clean skin, not clean air

The quietest clean: soft musk, a little lavender or white flower, powdery at the edge. This is the family that turns "fresh" into "cosy fresh", and it is where the clean cotton idea lives. CSI does not list a stand-alone musk oil. Musk appears as a stated base note in several oils, and the one where it does the most work is Lavender Fragrance Oil: "fresh lavender top notes, herbal green mid notes, and soft musk base".

Five families, one decision
Which "clean" is your customer asking for?
Family Customer says… CSI oil Where it sells best, in our judgement Watch out for
Aquatic "fresh", "sea breeze", "like fresh sheets" Blue Ocean Bathrooms, beach-house gifting, summer Can read "air freshener" if overloaded
Green "spa", "calm", "cucumber water" Cucumber Green Tea Salons, spa-style gift sets, entry price point Light base (clean musk, light woods); test in a large room
Citrus-herbal "zesty", "clean kitchen", "energising" Verbena Kitchens, offices, summer Citrus tops spend early in the burn
Cool herbal "minty", "cold", "clears the room" Eucalyptus Spearmint Monsoon, bathrooms, men's sets Divisive; strong at low loads
Soft musk "clean skin", "soft", "like laundry" Lavender Bedrooms, winter clean, gifting Reads "lavender" first, musk second
Mistake: buying three aquatic-style oils and calling it a clean range. Fix: a range needs contrast. Two oils from the same family look like a mistake on a shelf. Pick one oil per family you want to cover, and let the customer choose between clean air, clean leaf and clean skin. How five oils become a named line with roles is the subject of Best Clean Fragrances for a Candle Collection.

The five oils, one per family

Five bottles, five meanings of clean, all in stock at every size.

Ranked on what we can show you: the family each oil's stated notes place it in, the stated candle load, price per gram at 50 g, stock at every size, and whether the page names a base note (fresh oils without a base fade first). We have no throw measurements and will not invent any; which fresh oils have enough base to be pushed harder is argued in Strong Fresh Fragrance Oils for Candle Making. Candle counts assume 150 g at 8%, which is 12 g of oil.

1
green · cheapest of the five at 50 g
Cucumber Green Tea
The lowest price per gram of the five at 50 g (Eucalyptus Spearmint undercuts it at 500 g and 1 kg), with a pyramid its page sets out as labelled top, heart and base notes: "Top Notes: Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves | Heart Notes: Delicate jasmine, hints of lemon | Base Notes: Clean musk, light woods". The page says "we recommend using 8-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax". That wording mixes a percentage with a weight, so we read it as a percentage of total candle weight like every other load here and test 8% and 10%, with 6% as a control. Who it is for: an entry-price clean candle, spa-style gift sets, and anyone who wants "fresh" without sea or mint. Limitation: the base is "light woods", so it is the oil most likely to feel thin in a large room; test it in the room size your customer has.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹176.41 ₹3.53 4
100 g ₹352.82 ₹3.53 8
500 g ₹1,663.80 ₹3.33 41
1 kg ₹3,327.60 ₹3.33 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹42.34 at 50 g, ₹39.93 at 1 kg. Buy Cucumber Green Tea
2
aquatic · the clean-air benchmark
Blue Ocean Fragrance Oil
The aquatic anchor, and the oil the linen and laundry pages keep returning to, because its stated structure (ozone on top, a watery floral heart, a musk base) is the skeleton of both styles. Notes: "sea salt and ozone top notes, jasmine and lily of the valley heart, and driftwood and musk base". Stated load: "candles (up to 10%)". The page describes it as "A refreshing, phthalate-free aquatic fragrance oil" (the page's wording). Limitation: bigger is not cheaper. The 50 g is ₹4.94 per gram and the 500 g and 1 kg are ₹4.96, so an 8% candle carries ₹59.47 of oil at the 1 kg price against ₹59.28 at 50 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹247.00 ₹4.94 4
100 g ₹495.00 ₹4.95 8
500 g ₹2,478.00 ₹4.96 41
1 kg ₹4,956.00 ₹4.96 83
The only one of the five where 1 kg is fractionally dearer per gram than 50 g. Buy Blue Ocean
3
citrus-herbal · the bright one
Verbena Fragrance Oil
Verbena is the grown-up version of lemon: sharp, green-edged and less sweet than orange. The page describes "Crisp lemony verbena with herbal undertones" and states "Recommended Fragrance Load: Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". It is the kitchen and office candle of the set. Limitation: the page names no base note at all, so the scent is carried entirely by top and heart. In our judgement it will do best as the bright half of a pair (Verbena and Cucumber Green Tea in the same collection) rather than as the only clean scent you stock. It is also the dearest of the five at 50 g (₹6.61 per gram), though its 1 kg (₹4.72) is 29% cheaper per gram.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹106.20 ₹7.08 1
50 g ₹330.40 ₹6.61 4
100 g ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8
500 g ₹2,478.00 ₹4.96 41
1 kg ₹4,720.00 ₹4.72 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹79.30 at 50 g, ₹56.64 at 1 kg — a ₹22.66 saving at scale. Buy Verbena
4
cool herbal · the loud one
Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil
The most assertive oil on the list, in our judgement, and the cheapest of the five per gram at 500 g and 1 kg. The page describes it as "combining crisp eucalyptus with cool spearmint", states "Recommended fragrance load up to 10% for soy wax, up to 6% for paraffin", and describes it as IFRA-certified (page wording; documents on request). Its 15 g is the cheapest sample in the whole clean set at ₹68.44. Limitation: eucalyptus and mint divide people, and this is the oil most likely to be too much at 10%. Adding 3 g more oil to reach 10% costs only ₹12.74 per candle at the 50 g price, which is exactly why it is tempting and exactly why you should compare it against 6% first.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹68.44 ₹4.56 1
50 g ₹212.40 ₹4.25 4
100 g ₹354.00 ₹3.54 8
500 g ₹1,652.00 ₹3.30 41
1 kg ₹3,068.00 ₹3.07 83
1 kg is ₹3.07/g, 28% below the 50 g — second only to Verbena (29%) among the five. Buy Eucalyptus Spearmint
5
soft musk · clean skin
Lavender Fragrance Oil
The soft end of clean, and the closest of the five to a "clean skin" base: "fresh lavender top notes, herbal green mid notes, and soft musk base". The page states "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles" and calls it "A strong, IFRA-certified lavender fragrance oil" (page wording). It also carries more published reviews than any other CSI oil, two of which mention hot throw specifically. Limitation: it reads as lavender first. If your customer wants clean without a named flower, this is a partner oil, not a lead. Its bulk pricing is also nearly flat: the 1 kg is only 3.3% cheaper per gram than the 50 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹105.02 ₹7.00 1
50 g ₹270.00 ₹5.40 4
100 g ₹540.00 ₹5.40 8
500 g ₹2,620.00 ₹5.24 41
1 kg ₹5,221.00 ₹5.22 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹64.80 at 50 g, ₹62.65 at 1 kg. Buy Lavender
Only buying three? Cucumber Green Tea, Blue Ocean and Eucalyptus Spearmint cover green, aquatic and cool herbal for ₹635.81 at 50 g, the three most distinct meanings of clean at the lowest spend. Want a softer range? Swap Eucalyptus Spearmint for Lavender.
The five side by side · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Per gram at every size, and what 1 kg really saves per candle
Oil 15 g 50 g 100 g 500 g 1 kg Oil per 8% candle, 50 g → 1 kg
Cucumber Green Tea ₹6.21 ₹3.53 ₹3.53 ₹3.33 ₹3.33 ₹42.34 → ₹39.93
Blue Ocean ₹6.21 ₹4.94 ₹4.95 ₹4.96 ₹4.96 ₹59.28 → ₹59.47
Verbena ₹7.08 ₹6.61 ₹5.90 ₹4.96 ₹4.72 ₹79.30 → ₹56.64
Eucalyptus Spearmint ₹4.56 ₹4.25 ₹3.54 ₹3.30 ₹3.07 ₹50.98 → ₹36.82
Lavender ₹7.00 ₹5.40 ₹5.40 ₹5.24 ₹5.22 ₹64.80 → ₹62.65

Two facts for a first order. The 15 g bottle is the dearest way to buy almost every oil here: Cucumber Green Tea costs 76% more per gram at 15 g than at 50 g. And the oil-cost gap between the cheapest and dearest clean candle at 50 g is small: Verbena puts ₹79.30 of oil in an 8% candle, Cucumber Green Tea ₹42.34, a difference of ₹36.96. Choose the family first and the price second. The full wholesale ladder for every fresh oil, including when 500 g is the smarter bulk size, is in Clean and Fresh Candle Fragrance Oils Wholesale.

The honest gap: linen, cotton, laundry

Three clean scents buyers ask for by name are the three CSI does not list. We would rather tell you here than let you find out at checkout.

We checked the full catalogue on 24 September 2026: there is no fragrance oil titled or described as Fresh Linen, Clean Cotton or Fresh Laundry. The only catalogue items with "linen" or "cotton" in the name are a Room & Linen Spray Base (a base you add fragrance to, not a fragrance) and Cotton Braided Wicks. There is also no white tea oil and no stand-alone white musk. If a buyer tells you otherwise, check the listing.

That does not mean you cannot make a linen-style candle. Linen, cotton and laundry fragrances are built from the families above: an aquatic or ozonic lift, a soft floral heart, and a musk base. The three pages that deal with each search go into the detail, and we keep them separate so each answers one question well:

Searching for one of these? Go here
Three styles CSI does not list, and where the nearest-option advice lives
You searched for What the style usually is Nearest CSI starting point Read
Fresh linen Airy, sunlit, line-dried: ozone, light citrus, muguet, musk Blue Ocean Fresh Linen Fragrance Oil for Candle Making
Clean cotton Softer and closer: powdery musk, pale florals, little citrus Soft-floral and clean-musk oils Clean Cotton Fragrance Oil for Candle Making
Fresh laundry Brighter and soapier: citrus, floral, musk, a detergent-like lift Blended pairs at a total load Fresh Laundry Fragrance Oil for Candles
Argued against our own interest: if linen is the one scent your brand cannot launch without, no oil on this page will be a like-for-like swap. Blue Ocean and Lavender get you into the same room, not the same chair. Ask us on WhatsApp whether a linen, cotton or laundry oil is planned before you commit a launch date to it, and do not buy 1 kg of anything as a stand-in until the stand-in has passed a blind test against a sample of what your customer actually wants.

The first basket, lean and full

Two ways to start, depending on whether you are exploring clean or committing to it. Both assume 150 g candles, CSI 464 soy, and three loads per oil (6%, 8% and 10% of total weight: 9 g, 12 g or 15 g of oil with 141 g, 138 g or 135 g of wax). A 15 g bottle of each (₹466.10 for the five, ₹6.21 per gram) is enough for one candle per oil and cannot compare loads, so we do not recommend it as a starting basket.

Lean vs full · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Three families for ₹3,756.61, or all five for ₹4,864.41
Item Lean (3 oils, 12 candles) Full (5 oils, 20 candles)
Oils at 50 g Cucumber Green Tea, Blue Ocean, Eucalyptus Spearmint: ₹635.81 All five: ₹1,236.21
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 2 × 1 kg: ₹1,014.80 3 × 1 kg: ₹1,522.20
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) Pack of 20: ₹1,888.00 (12 used) Pack of 20: ₹1,888.00 (₹94.40 each)
Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) 20 wicks: ₹118.00 (12 used) 20 wicks: ₹118.00
Candle Wick Stickers 1 sheet of 40: ₹100.00 1 sheet of 40: ₹100.00
Total ₹3,756.61 (₹313.05 per candle over 12) ₹4,864.41 (₹243.22 per candle over 20)

Twelve lean candles (nine load tests plus three retests) need twelve jars and twelve wicks, and both come in packs of 10 or 20, so the lean basket buys 20 of each and keeps eight spare for the first production pour of the winner. In the full basket, the non-oil lines add up to ₹3,628.20, more than the oils themselves. That is normal for a test order and a good reminder that the oil is rarely where a clean candle's cost hides.

What one clean candle costs

Worked example, Cucumber Green Tea at 8% in the 150 g clear jar: 12 g of oil at the 50 g price (₹42.34) + 138 g of CSI 464 at ₹0.51 per gram (₹70.02) + one jar from the pack of 10 (₹94.40) + one C1 wick (₹5.90) = ₹212.66. The same candle with Verbena is ₹249.62. Both exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. The jar is the biggest line in both, which is why premium clean positioning is mostly a vessel decision; that is covered in Luxury Clean Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles.

Wax choice for fresh oils
All five oils state a maximum of 10%, and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's stated ceiling is also 10%, so the two ceilings agree and CSI 464 is the simple choice. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks and Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 both allow up to 13%, headroom these oils' pages do not use: the lower of the two ceilings always governs. How fragile citrus and aquatic top notes behave in soy is the subject of Luxury Clean Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles.

Testing fresh oils: why the top note lies

Fresh oils smell their best in the bottle and their weakest on day ten. Test for day ten.

Clean scents are built on top notes: citrus peel, ozone, cucumber, mint. Top notes are the most volatile part of any fragrance, so they are what you smell first when you open the bottle and what fades first in a curing candle and a burning one. A fresh oil that smells brilliant on a blotter can be quiet in the room. The test below is built around that.

1
Pour fifteen candles on one dayFive oils at 6%, 8% and 10% of total weight in 150 g jars: 9 g, 12 g and 15 g of oil. Weigh everything on a scale reading to 1 g. Keep the wax temperatures identical for every candle, following the wax page (CSI 464: melt and pour at 80–90°C as stated on its page).
2
Lid them straight awayFresh top notes are the ones you lose to an open jar. Lid each candle once it has set and label oil, load and date on the base.
3
Cold-sniff at day 3 and day 7None of the five pages states a cure time. At least 48–72 hours, and longer for soy, is common practice; we suggest you sniff at day 3 and day 7 and write down what changed. If an oil is noticeably weaker at day 7, that is your first warning about its hot throw.
4
Burn the doorway testOne candle at a time, same room, door closed, two to three hours. Stand in the doorway at 15 minutes, 45 minutes and 2 hours. For fresh oils the 15-minute reading matters more than for woods: a clean candle that takes an hour to arrive has missed the moment a guest walks in.
5
Ask "which clean?" not "do you like it?"Hand each candle to two people who have not read the label and ask them to describe it in one word. If Blue Ocean comes back as "sea" and Cucumber Green Tea as "spa", the family is reading. If both come back as "air freshener", lower the load.
6
Keep the lowest load that passes, then buy 500 g of itThe winner is the lowest load that scored well at the doorway at 15 minutes and 2 hours. Pour one retest candle at that load to confirm, then scale that oil only.
Mistake: judging a fresh oil from the bottle and buying 1 kg on the strength of it. Fix: the bottle is all top note; the candle is top, heart and base spread over hours. We sell the 1 kg bottles. For a fresh oil you have not burned, don't buy one. On Eucalyptus Spearmint the 1 kg saves ₹14.16 of oil per candle over the 50 g; that is a real saving on a proven oil and a real loss on one your customers do not like.
Colour without confusion
Clean candles are usually left white or tinted very pale. If you tint, use a drop of Candle Dye Liquid, Blue for aquatic and add it to every load in the test, so colour is not the variable that changes between candles.

When clean candles sell in India

Fresh scents follow the heat. Indian summer runs roughly April to June, which is when citrus, green and aquatic candles make the most sense; the southwest monsoon, roughly June to September, suits cool herbal and green scents in damp rooms; winter, roughly December to February, is colder in North India and milder in the South, and soft musk and lavender carry clean into that season better than citrus. These are calendar facts about the seasons, not forecasts of demand. Seasonal planning in full is covered in Best Fragrance Oils for Summer Candles in India.

Season fit · our judgement from stated notes
Which clean family leads in which part of the year
Season (approximate) Lead family Lead oil Support
Summer, April–June Citrus-herbal, aquatic Verbena, Blue Ocean Cucumber Green Tea
Monsoon, June–September Cool herbal, green Eucalyptus Spearmint Cucumber Green Tea
Diwali gifting, 8 November 2026 Soft musk, aquatic Lavender Blue Ocean, as the "fresh" option in a mixed box
Winter, December–February Soft musk Lavender Blue Ocean for bathrooms

Diwali (8 November 2026) is a warm-scent festival, but corporate gift boxes often need one fresh option for recipients who dislike sweet or smoky candles; a clean candle in a mixed box is a sensible hedge. For summer 2027, the useful dates are working backwards from April: test in January and February, order 500 g of the winners in March. Batch maths and summer stock timing for manufacturers are in Bulk Fresh Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers; buying routes, stock depth and documents in Where to Buy Fresh and Clean Candle Fragrance Oils in India.

Planning summer 2027? Test the five-oil set (₹1,236.21) this winter, then order 500 g of the winners by March. Cucumber Green Tea 500 g is ₹1,663.80 and Eucalyptus Spearmint 500 g is ₹1,652.00, each enough for 41 candles at 8%. Ask on WhatsApp for a bulk quote and GST invoice.

The CSI principle
Name the clean before you buy it.
"Clean" is five different scents. The cheapest mistake in a fresh range is buying an oil for the wrong one; the second cheapest is buying a kilogram before the top note has been tested on day ten.
"Customers do not buy clean. They buy sea air, cut cucumber, lemon leaf, cold mint or clean skin. Stock the one they mean."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the oils, wax, jars and wicks named here and does not sell finished candles. This page tells you the three most-searched clean scents are not in our catalogue, recommends 50 g bottles over the 1 kg we would rather sell, and points out where our own bulk sizes save little or nothing per gram.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026, and all five shortlisted oils were in stock at every size on that date; out-of-stock sizes of other oils are flagged where they appear. Notes, candle loads and IFRA or phthalate wording are quoted from each product page.

The five-family model, the season fit and the test method are our judgement, not measurements; CSI has no throw data for these oils. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Which fragrance oil smells clean and fresh for candles?
It depends which clean you mean. For sea air, Blue Ocean; for spa-style cucumber and tea, Cucumber Green Tea; for lemon-leaf brightness, Verbena; for cold mint, Eucalyptus Spearmint; for soft clean skin, Lavender with its soft musk base. All five state a candle load up to 10%.
Does CSI sell fresh linen fragrance oil?
No. On 24 September 2026 CSI lists no fresh linen, clean cotton or fresh laundry fragrance oil. Blue Ocean is the nearest starting point for linen-style candles; ask on WhatsApp if a linen oil is essential to your plan.
What is the cheapest clean fragrance oil for candles in India?
On the shortlist, Cucumber Green Tea at ₹3.53 per gram for 50 g (₹176.41), falling to ₹3.33 at 500 g and 1 kg. Citrus Lemon is cheaper still (₹3.40 at 50 g, ₹2.83 at 1 kg) but is a simpler, louder citrus.
How much fresh fragrance oil should I add to soy wax?
Test 6%, 8% and 10% of total candle weight; for a 150 g candle that is 9 g, 12 g and 15 g of oil. The lower of the wax's stated ceiling and the oil's stated maximum governs: with CSI 464 and these five oils, both are 10%.
Why does my fresh scented candle smell weak when burning?
Fresh scents rely on top notes, which fade fastest. Lid candles straight after setting, cure at least 48–72 hours (longer for soy is common practice), check the melt pool reaches the glass edge, and choose oils whose page names a base note, such as Blue Ocean or Cucumber Green Tea.
Should I buy 1 kg of fresh fragrance oil to save money?
Only for a proven oil. Eucalyptus Spearmint's 1 kg is 28% cheaper per gram than its 50 g, a real saving; Lavender's is only 3.3% cheaper, and Blue Ocean's 1 kg is fractionally dearer per gram than its 50 g. Test at 50 g, then buy 500 g of the winner.
