Kilos a month, by volume and load
The table covers the range most small manufacturers sit in: 200 to 2,000 candles a month. All candles are 200 g; load is a percentage of the finished candle; a 5% working allowance is included. Each cell gives kilos a month and, after the dot, kilos a year at that rate.

Two things are useful to take from this. First, the monthly figure is small enough to handle in 1 kg bottles all the way up the table: even 2,000 candles a month at 10% is 42.0 kg, about forty kilo bottles spread across your scents. Second, the yearly figure is where the money shows. At 800 candles a month and 8%, 161 kg a year of oil at the median 1 kg rate is about ₹9,67,518.72. The monthly oil budget
Monthly oil priced at three per-gram rates taken from CSI's 1 kg listings: the cheapest oil in stock at 1 kg (Citrus Lemon, ₹2,832.00), the median in-stock 1 kg (₹5,999.00) and a premium gourmand (Vanilla Bean, ₹7,646.00). These are rate × grams budgets for 200 g candles at 8% with the 5% allowance; real orders in whole bottles come a little higher.

An 800-a-month range, bottle by bottle
Our featured scenario is a small manufacturer pouring 800 × 200 g candles a month at 8% across a six-scent autumn-winter range: Cinnamon 200, Fallen Leaves 160, Pumpkin Spice 160, Palo Santo 120, Vetiver 80 and Mahogany Shea 80. Each scent's monthly order uses the fewest in-stock bottles costing within 1% of the strictly cheapest combination.

Three details matter here. Vetiver's 1 kg is out of stock on the pull date, so its monthly order is built from two 500 g bottles and small packs; the 500 g is ₹5.80 a gram against ₹6.00 for the 100 g. Palo Santo is priced flat from 50 g to 1 kg (₹6.02 a gram), so two kilos and a 50 g cost exactly the same per gram as any other combination. Mahogany Shea's 15 g is an expensive top-up at ₹10.93 a gram against ₹4.89 for the 100 g, so its order finishes on 100 g and 50 g bottles.

Ordering every two months saves ₹1,530.78 over the two months, 1.1%, because two orders need two sets of top-ups and one order needs one. Fallen Leaves saves nothing, because its 500 g costs exactly half its kilo and its top-ups are the same either way, so two monthly orders buy the same grams at the same rates. The festive month
Most Indian candle businesses see a peak around Diwali, which falls on 8 November 2026, and many see a second lift through the November–February wedding season. As a working illustration only, suppose October's production is 1.5 times the base month: 1,200 candles instead of 800. The same six-scent split then needs 20.16 kg of oil and costs ₹1,06,088.50 in bottles — ₹34,512.44 more than a normal month.
