CSI Wick Buying · 7 cm Jars
With only three tabbed rungs, "adjacent sizes" at 7 cm means all of them. Buy C1, C2 and Cotton Braided at three candles each, keep a fourth arm in the same packs, and never reorder a rung that failed.
3 rungs
C1, C2 and Cotton Braided × 3 candles = ₹332.40 in wicks; the fourth arm comes from the same packs · CSI live pricing, October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
How many adjacent wick sizes should I test in a 7 cm soy jar? With CSI wicks, all three tabbed rungs: Eco C1, Eco C2 and Cotton Braided, three candles each, nine wicks. CSI has no sized, tabbed wick between those rungs, so "adjacent" here means every rung there is. Our judgement puts a 7 cm answer at C1 or C2; Cotton Braided is there to fail high.

What do I buy first? Eco C1 20-pack (₹118.00; the 10-pack is out of stock), Eco C2 10-pack (₹94.40) and Cotton Braided 10-pack (₹120.00): ₹332.40. With jars, Jasmine and CSI 464, stage 1 is ₹3,187.20 in cash.

When do I buy more? Only if the bracket stays open, usually because nothing fails on the high side. Then pour a fourth arm of 2 × C1, three candles, six C1 wicks: they are already in your 20-pack. Stage 2 costs ₹1,684.00 in jars, oil, wax and a holder, and nothing in wicks.

Which wicks do I never buy again? Any rung that failed in the expected direction: C1 that tunnels, Cotton Braided that runs hot. Spare wicks of a failed rung stay on the shelf. Production quantities are bought only for the rung that closed the bracket, after a full-life burn.
The short answer
Stage 1: C1 20 (₹118.00) + C2 10 (₹94.40) + Cotton Braided 10 (₹120.00) = ₹332.40; nine 150 g candles at 8% (12 g + 138 g), three per rung.
Stage 2, only if the bracket is open: six candles on 2 × C1 from the same 20-pack. No new wicks; ₹1,684.00 in jars, Jasmine, wax and a holder.
Stop-buying rule: a rung that fails in the expected direction is never reordered. Production wicks are bought only for the rung with a documented fail on each side, after all three candles pass full life.
The honest limit: CSI's 7 cm jars are 7 cm on the outside; inside is less. And CSI lists no sized, tabbed wick below C1, so if C1 passes, the bracket can only close from below with an untabbed wick.
Three small packs, two stages: every wick accounted for One square = one wick, to scale. Stage 1 = three candles per rung; stage 2 = the 2 × C1 fourth arm, bought only if the bracket stays open. CSI live prices, 1 October 2026. The C1 10-pack is out of stock, so 20 is the smallest C1 you can buy. Eco C1 20-pack · ₹118.00 3 stage 1 + 6 for 2 × C1 + 3 re-pour = 12 · 8 still spare after all of it Eco C2 10-pack · ₹94.40 3 stage 1 + 3 re-pour · 4 spare · not used in stage 2 Cotton Braided 10-pack · ₹120.00 3 stage 1 + 3 re-pour · 4 spare · not used in stage 2 Stage 1: 3 candles per rung Stage 2: 2 × C1 arm (only if open) Held for one 3-candle re-pour Spare Cash per stage (150 g candles at 8% Jasmine, CSI jars) Stage 1 ₹3,187.20 Stage 2 ₹1,684.00 Wicks Jars Jasmine CSI 464 Holders Stage 2 has no wick segment: the six C1 for the pairs are already in the stage-1 20-pack. Stage 1 wicks = ₹332.40. Excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST. Worked example, not CSI performance data.
Every wick in the first order, one square each. The C1 20-pack is the smallest C1 you can buy on 1 October 2026, and it is big enough for both stages: three stage-1 candles, the six wicks of a 2 × C1 fourth arm, and three more for a re-pour, with 8 still spare. C2 and Cotton Braided need only their 10-packs. Stage 2 adds jars, oil, wax and a holder, never wicks.
Straight answer
I have a 7 cm diameter glass jar with soy wax. How many adjacent wick sizes should I test before choosing one for production?
Buy and test all three of CSI's tabbed rungs, three candles each: Eco C1 (20-pack, ₹118.00), Eco C2 (10-pack, ₹94.40) and Cotton Braided (10-pack, ₹120.00), ₹332.40 in all. The rule you are applying, set out in the 7 cm bracket-closure post, is that a production wick needs a documented fail on each side: under-wicked on the rung below, over-wicked on the rung above. With only three tabbed rungs and nothing in between, the wick you choose and both of its neighbours are, in practice, the whole range. Our judgement for a 7 cm soy jar with a light oil is that the answer sits at C1 or C2. If the three rungs leave the bracket open (most often because nothing fails high), add a fourth arm of 2 × C1, three candles: the six wicks are already in your 20-pack. Buy production quantities of the one rung that closed the bracket, after all three of its candles pass a full-life burn, and never reorder a rung that failed.
One line: three rungs at three candles each, a fourth arm only if the bracket stays open, and a production order only for the rung with a fail on both sides.
The stage-1 wick order: Eco C1 20-pack (₹118.00; the 10-pack is out of stock on 1 October 2026), Eco C2 10-pack (₹94.40) and Cotton Braided 10-pack (₹120.00). It also covers stage 2 and one re-pour per rung. Every pack named is in stock on 1 October 2026.
Eco C1/C2 — from ₹94.40

The stage-1 order for a 7 cm jar

Nine candles decide the wick. The order should already hold what the tenth through fifteenth might need.

The worked example pours 150 g candles at 8% Jasmine (12 g of oil + 138 g of wax, load as a percentage of total candle weight, CSI's convention) in CSI's Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid. If your 7 cm jar is from elsewhere, swap the jar line for yours and weigh your own fill line. Each line below is the smallest in-stock pack that covers stage 1 plus one three-candle re-pour of any rung; the one exception is the jars, where the pack of 10 leaves a single spare.

Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 1,242 g 2 × 1 kg ₹1,014.80 ₹0.51 per g 758 g: one re-pour (414 g)
Wick Centering Device 9 jars poured together 2 packs of 5 ₹236.00 ₹23.60 1

Stage 1 from nothing: ₹3,187.20. If you already own wax, oil and jars, it is the three wick packs, ₹332.40. Materials actually consumed by the nine candles come to ₹2,026.21 (jars included); the rest is the re-pour reserve and spare stock.

Why 100 g + 50 g of Jasmine and not the cheapest fit: 100 g + 15 g (₹533.00) covers the nine candles with 7 g to spare, which is not enough to re-pour a rung if one candle splits from the other two. The extra ₹127.00 buys 42 g: a full three-candle re-pour (36 g). Two 1 kg bags of wax do the same job for CSI 464: 758 g left, enough for one re-pour of 414 g.

Is your 7 cm the outside or the inside?
Most CSI glass listings at this size give an outer or unspecified width: sixteen read "Height 8 cm width 7 cm", and the 150 g Clear Glass Jar states "outer diameter 7cm" with a base of about 6.5 cm. None states an inside diameter. Measure the inside of three jars from your batch at the rim, the middle and near the base before you order. How to derive it is in the external versus internal diameter post.
Don't buy the big pack: not the C1 100 (₹590.00), not the C2 50 (₹472.00). Each costs exactly what the same number of wicks costs in the small pack, and a 7 cm ladder will leave two of the three rungs as failures you never reorder. Argued against our own interest: we would rather sell you 40 wicks today and 130 of the right one next month than 300 now, 200 of which end up as spares of a rung that failed.

What "adjacent sizes" means with three rungs

Other suppliers offer a dozen steps. We offer three. That changes how many you buy, not how you decide.

The method is not ours to rewrite: the bracket-closure post sets it out. You choose a wick only when the rung below it has a documented under-wicked fail and the rung above has a documented over-wicked fail, three candles per rung. How to pick the first three rungs for a straight-sided jar is in the first-three-wicks post. This page owns what that rule means for your order when the range is short.

CSI's tabbed, ready-to-use wicks are Eco C1, Eco C2 and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made. There is no sized, tabbed wick between C1 and C2, none between C2 and Cotton Braided, and none smaller than C1. So for a 7 cm jar whose likely answer is C1 or C2, "the chosen wick plus one size either side" is all three rungs. You cannot buy fewer and still close the bracket, and there is nothing in between to buy more of.

C1 a smaller wick under C2 over Only from above: CSI lists no smaller tabbed wick. The nearest lower candidate CSI lists is the untabbed Eco Candle Wicks Loose, whose page targets "2 inch diameters" (that it sits below C1 is our judgement)
Cotton Braided C2 under a larger configuration over Only with the fourth arm: 2 × C1 is the next step up CSI's packs allow
C2 and Cotton Braided both pass C1 under nothing failed high Open at the top: the fourth arm, or approve C2 with the gap written down

Why we expect C1 or C2 at 7 cm

Pool area is π × r² on the inside diameter: geometry, not a burn prediction. A true 7.0 cm inside is 38.48 cm². CSI's 150 g jar, 7 cm outside, is about 6.3 cm inside at the rim on our 0.35 cm wall assumption: 31.17 cm². Read a 7 cm outer figure as an inside diameter and you overstate the pool by 23%. Cotton Braided's page places it at "exceeding 8 cm" (50.27 cm² at 8 cm inside, the 5501 case), well above either figure. That is why our likely centre is one rung lower than the hub's: our judgement, not a verdict. A very rough rule of thumb (about one hour per 2.5 cm of width) puts a full first pool at about 2.8 hours, so test in sessions of at least three hours.

Pool geometry around 7 cm · what one wick must melt
π r² on inside diameter · 0.35 cm wall assumed where a figure is the outside · all figures declared
Jar Inside diameter Pool area Order consequence
CSI 6 cm shiny jars (outer) about 5.3 cm 22.06 cm² Smaller again: below the 7 cm bracket, C1 is the likely centre
CSI 150 g jar at its base (6.5 cm outer) about 5.8 cm 26.42 cm² 15% less than at its rim: test through the whole jar
CSI 150 g jar at the rim (7 cm outer) about 6.3 cm 31.17 cm² Centre C1–C2 (judgement); all three rungs
Your jar, 7.0 cm measured inside 7.0 cm 38.48 cm² Centre C2 (judgement); all three rungs
8 cm inside (hub case) 8.0 cm 50.27 cm² the 8 cm hub: centre C2–Cotton Braided
Mistake: buying only the rung you think will win, because "7 cm is a small jar, C1 will do". Why it fails: a single passing rung tells you nothing about the rungs beside it, so you cannot say whether you are just right or just lucky; the first warm week or a heavier oil can tip it. Fix: buy the neighbours too. Three C1 candles cost ₹665.76 with jars, three Cotton Braided ₹684.06: that is what a closed bracket costs.

Pack coverage: one C1 20-pack, both stages

The smallest C1 pack you can buy is bigger than stage 1 needs. Good: the rest is your fourth arm.

Because the C1 10-pack is out of stock on 1 October 2026, the 20-pack is the entry point, and it turns out to be the right size: three for the stage-1 rung, six for a 2 × C1 arm, three for one re-pour, with 8 still spare even then. The two 10-packs cover their rungs plus a re-pour. In the worst case we plan for, a re-pour of the 2 × C1 arm itself, C1 still has 5 left.

Pack coverage · counts by stage
Three candles per rung · 2 × C1 arm = 6 C1 · re-pour = 3 candles of one configuration · CSI live pricing, 1 October 2026
Pack Price Stage 1 Stage 2 (if open) Re-pour reserve Left Second pack needed?
Eco C1 20 ₹118.00 3 6 3 (6 if the pair is re-poured) 8 (5) No
Eco C2 10 ₹94.40 3 — 3 4 No
Cotton Braided 10 ₹120.00 3 — 3 4 No
Clear Glass Jar 150 g, 10 ₹944.00 9 6 3 1 after stage 1 Yes, one more pack of 10 for stage 2 or a re-pour

Why a 2 × C1 arm and not 2 × C2 at 7 cm? On 38.48 cm², two wicks each have 19.24 cm² to melt; two C1s are the gentlest pair CSI's packs make, and the arm's purpose is to show what lies above Cotton Braided, which at 7 cm is usually too much heat. A starting spacing of 3.0 cm puts each wick 2.0 cm from the wall in a 7.0 cm inside jar: geometry and a labelled starting point. A pair in a 7 cm jar is a test arm, rarely a product; how to place two wicks is the double-wick spacing post.

Why the 10-packs of C2 and Cotton Braided are enough
Neither rung appears in stage 2, and one re-pour is three wicks. You would need an eleventh C2 only if two separate re-pours of C2 were needed, and by then the problem is usually not the wick: check centring, still air and session length before buying anything.

Stage by stage: when to spend, and how much

Stage 1 is a purchase. Stage 2 is a decision you make after burn 3, not at the checkout.

You can buy both stages at once or as needed. Upfront (jars 20, two 100 g bottles of Jasmine, 2.5 kg of wax, the steel holders) costs ₹4,841.20 and ties up ₹1,654.00 more than stage 1 alone, money that sits idle if the three rungs close the bracket, which our judgement expects at 7 cm. Buying as needed costs ₹3,187.20 now and ₹1,684.00 later only if the bracket stays open: ₹4,871.20 in all, ₹30.00 more than upfront because the smaller bottles cost more per gram. Unless a deadline means you cannot wait for burn 3, stage it.

Per candle, jar included: C1 ₹221.92, C2 ₹225.46, Cotton Braided ₹228.02, 2 × C1 ₹227.82. The wick is 4.2% of a C2 candle; the jar, oil and wax are the rest. Every figure excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST.

1
Measure, then order stage 1Inside diameter of three jars at rim, middle and near the base; weigh water to your fill line (rules of thumb put wax at roughly 0.86–0.9 times that; confirm with a weighed pour). Then order the three wick packs and the stage-1 materials.
2
Pour nine candles from one pot1,242 g of CSI 464 and 108 g of Jasmine, mixed once. Pour at 80–85°C in the 150 g jar: CSI 464's page says 80–90°C, the jar's says up to 85°C, and the lower figure governs. Label bases C1-a to CB-c.
3
Cure and burn identicallyCure all nine together (many makers wait about a week for soy), then burn in sessions of at least three hours in still air, trimmed to about 5–6 mm, within sight, with full cool-downs between.
4
Screen at burn 3: is the bracket closed?Look for an under fail on the rung below the leader and an over fail above it, the same in all three candles. Closed: go to step 6. Open at the top: step 5. Open at the bottom (C1 leads): note the gap, read the C1 row of the closure table above, and ask us.
5
Only if open at the top: pour the fourth armSix C1 from your 20-pack as three pairs, 3.0 cm apart to start, in a Steel Wick Holder. Buy the stage-2 jars, oil and wax now, not before.
6
Burn the leader to the endAll three candles of the chosen rung to about 1 cm left, judging the final third by flame height, pool depth, soot and how close the flame sits to the glass, by eye and never by touch. Only then size the production order.

How many days that final burn takes for a 150 g candle in a 7 cm jar is the 7 cm full-life calendar; how far down a test candle must go to count is the acceptance-depth post.

The stop-buying rule

A rung that failed the way you expected has done its job. Paying for it again is paying for the same answer twice.

Once a rung fails in the expected direction (C1 tunnels with a ring that never closes, Cotton Braided runs a tall flame and a deep pool) it is never reordered for this jar, wax, oil and load. Its spare wicks stay on the shelf for a future, different configuration. The only wick you ever buy in quantity is the one with a documented fail on each side, and only after its full life.

After burn 3 and full life · what each rung earns
Three candles per rung · readings are our judgement, labelled · nothing is reordered before full life

Only 1 or 2 of 3 pass Not decided No: re-pour three from the reserve you already own

The rule saves more money in production than in testing. Suppose a 7 cm Jasmine line runs at C2: the C1 and Cotton Braided spares from the ladder (17 C1 after stage 1, 7 Cotton Braided) are a sunk ₹184.30 at pack price. Topping either up "to have the full range" would add stock of wicks this candle has already rejected. If a later fragrance needs C1, its own ladder will tell you, and the 17 are waiting.

Mistake: reordering the rung below "as a backup" in case the approved wick runs short. Why it fails: the backup is a wick you proved wrong for this candle; using it in a pinch puts a tunnelling candle in a customer's hands. Fix: hold safety stock of the approved wick instead, sized by the reorder point below. If you change jar, wax, oil or load, the rejected rung may become right again, but only a new ladder can say so.

From a closed bracket to a production order

The ladder buys certainty about one wick. The production order buys only that wick.

Size the order from production, not from the pack list: wicks to buy = candles × wicks per candle × (1 + allowance), the formula from the 8 cm hub. The allowance covers rejects and retests; 5% is our worked-example figure. Because C1, C2 and Cotton Braided are flat per wick, any combination of packs that adds up to the number costs the same per wick: pick the combination with the fewest leftovers.

Production exposure · worked example: 120 candles a month in a 7 cm jar
Wicks = 120 × 1 × 1.05 · flat per-wick pricing · jars, oil and wax for scale · all figures declared
Rung that closed the bracket Wicks a month Packs with fewest leftovers Cost a month
C1 126 100 + 20 + 20 = 140 ₹826.00
C2 126 100 + 20 + 10 = 130 ₹1,227.20
Cotton Braided 126 100 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 130 ₹1,560.00
For scale: Clear Glass Jars 120 six packs of 20 ₹11,328.00
For scale: Jasmine, 1,440 g — three 500 g bottles (or 1 kg + 500 g at ₹5,884.00) ₹5,883.00
For scale: CSI 464, 16,560 g — 10 kg + 5 kg + 2 × 1 kg = 17 kg ₹8,625.80

Which rung wins changes the wick bill by small sums: C2 costs ₹3.54 more per wick than C1, ₹446.04 a month at 126 wicks. Next to ₹11,328.00 of jars and ₹5,883.00 of oil, the wick is the cheap line. The expensive mistake is 120 candles poured on a rung whose neighbours you never tested. On the oil, note that three 500 g bottles cost ₹1.00 less than the 1 kg + 500 g route.

Reorder point

Reorder point = daily use × your lead time + safety stock. At 126 wicks a month, daily use is 4.2; with a 10-day order-to-bench time and a week of safety stock, reorder when you are down to 72 wicks of the approved rung. The 10 days is your figure: CSI dispatches from Pune and publishes no lead times or stock depth, so confirm dispatch on WhatsApp before a big run. Per-SKU reorder points across several wicks are the 500-candles-a-month reorder post; a long supplier lead time is the four-week lead-time post.

Don't buy the 1,000-pack because the bracket closed: at 126 a month, a C2 1,000-pack (₹9,440.00) is about eight months of stock at the same ₹9.44 per wick as the 10-pack. A new jar batch, a second fragrance on the same jar or a change of load can each send you back to a ladder; the bulk-buy-after-full-life post lists what must pass first. Buy a month plus safety stock and reorder on the formula.

How many candles per rung beyond three, and why, is the three-candles-per-wick post; why one perfect candle is not a production licence is the one-perfect-candle post.

What to buy for a 7 cm ladder, and what to skip

Five items, in the order the ladder needs them, chosen on page statements, price and stock on 1 October 2026. CSI publishes no wick-performance data, so nothing here is ranked on burn results. Oil candle counts use 12 g per 150 g candle at 8%.

1
wick · the low rung and the fourth arm
Eco Candle Wicks — Thin (C1) and Thick (C2)
Two of the three tabbed rungs. For a 7 cm jar our judgement puts the likely answer at C1 or C2, so both are in the ladder, and the C1 20-pack also holds the six wicks for a 2 × C1 fourth arm. The page describes "natural fibers like cotton and paper" that "pair perfectly with soy wax" and, in the text we captured, states no length, width or jar range. Stock on 1 October 2026: the C1 10-pack is out of stock; every other pack of both is in. Per wick the price is flat at every pack (₹5.90 C1, ₹9.44 C2). Argued against our own interest: buy the C1 20 and the C2 10, not the 100s; nothing about a 7 cm jar needs more wicks than that before the bracket closes.

wick · the top tabbed rung, here to fail high
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made
The rung above. Its page says "engineered for large-diameter candles exceeding 8 cm", so at 7 cm we expect it to run hot: that is its job in this ladder. A documented fail on the high side is what lets you approve C2 (or C1) with confidence. Page dimension: "Height of the wick is 10.16 cm". Limitation: no width or braid count is stated, and CSI lists no larger single tabbed wick. If it surprises you and passes at 7 cm, the bracket is open at the top: that is when the 2 × C1 arm earns its place.

jar · CSI's 7 cm option
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram)
If you have not chosen your jar yet, this is CSI's nearest 7 cm listing. The page gives "outer diameter 7cm", "base diameter approximately 6.5cm", "150g fill capacity", "thick-walled" glass with a "curved silhouette", and "Safe for hot pour up to 85°C". So it is 7 cm on the outside and narrower inside and lower down: about 6.3 cm at the rim and 5.8 cm at the base on our 0.35 cm wall assumption (thick-walled glass may be less). With CSI 464 (pour 80–90°C) pour at 80–85°C; the jar's lower figure governs. Its 85°C wording is a pour limit, not a burn rating.

fragrance oil · white floral · the worked example's oil
Jasmine Fragrance Oil
A light white floral, chosen so the ladder tests the jar rather than a heavy oil. The page describes it as "sweet, floral, and slightly musky with a timeless luxurious aroma", states "Recommended load up to 10% soy, up to 6% paraffin" and "0% vanillin - no discolouration" (the page's claim; vanillin is one cause of discolouration, not the only one, so watch your test candles anyway). Every size is in stock on 1 October 2026. Per gram it falls from ₹6.87 at 15 g to ₹3.92 at 500 g, and the 1 kg (₹3,923.00) costs ₹1.00 more than two 500 g bottles. A wick approved with Jasmine does not transfer to a heavier oil: why vanilla can need a different wick from lavender in the same jar.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8% (12 g)
15 g ₹103.00 ₹6.87 1
50 g ₹230.00 ₹4.60 4
100 g ₹430.00 ₹4.30 8
500 g ₹1,961.00 ₹3.92 41
1 kg ₹3,923.00 ₹3.92 83
Stage 1 needs 108 g: 100 g + 50 g (₹660.00) leaves 42 g for one re-pour. Buy 100 g — ₹430.00

wax · the soy the ladder is poured in
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (Flakes Form) For Container Candles
The page states "Fragrance Load Up to 10%" and "Pour Temperature 80°C – 90°C". Jasmine at 8% of total weight is 8.70% of wax weight, inside 10% on either reading. Price is flat at ₹0.51 a gram from 1 kg to 10 kg, so the 10 kg is not cheaper per gram than the 1 kg. If you pour a different soy, run the ladder in that wax: a bracket closed in CSI 464 does not transfer.

Skip for a 7 cm ladder: Performance Wooden Wicks (₹590.00 for 10): one listing with no widths, so it cannot form a bracket; wooden versus cotton is a separate test. Eco Braided Wicks (₹472.00 for 5 m), which its page pitches at "large diameter container jars", and the Braided Wick Roll (₹706.82): unsized and cut to length, only worth a test if the bracket lands between rungs. Eco Candle Wicks Loose (₹413.00 for 5 m): untabbed, for "2 inch diameters"; buy it only if C1 passes and you need a fail below it.

Diwali is 8 November 2026, 38 days from 1 October 2026. A stage-1 ladder poured this week and cured for a few days can be screened at burn 3 by mid-October; the full-life burns of the leader take the weeks after. If you need stage 2, decide at burn 3, not later. Send us the closed bracket and your candle count: we will quote wicks, jars, Jasmine and CSI 464 with a GST invoice and a dispatch date.

The CSI principle
Buy the neighbours, then stop buying them.
At 7 cm, three rungs at three candles each cost ₹332.40 in wicks and, in our judgement, are usually enough to close it. A fourth arm comes out of packs you already own. After that, only the rung with a fail on each side is ever bought again.
"A wick you rejected is information. A wick you reorder after rejecting it is inventory with a bad record."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the wicks, jar, oil and wax named here, and does not sell finished candles. This page still tells you to buy our smallest packs, that bigger tabbed packs save nothing per wick, that our tabbed range has three rungs with nothing between them and nothing below C1, and that our 7 cm jars are 7 cm on the outside.

Every price was verified on CSI's live store on 1 October 2026. Stock was checked per size: the Eco C1 10-pack is out of stock on that date and is flagged wherever it appears; every other size shown is in stock. Wick, jar, oil and wax wording is quoted from the product pages; where a page is silent in the text we captured, we say so.

The likely centre (C1 or C2 at 7 cm), the readings in the closure and stop-buying tables, the 150 g fill, the 0.35 cm wall, the 3.0 cm pair spacing, the 5% allowance, the 120-candle month and the 10-day lead time are our judgement or worked examples; melt-pool times are commonly cited rules of thumb, not CSI data; CSI publishes no wick-performance data. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

How many wick sizes should I test for a 7 cm candle jar?
Enough to show a fail on each side of the wick you choose. With CSI's three tabbed rungs (Eco C1, Eco C2, Cotton Braided) that is all three, three candles each: nine wicks, ₹332.40 in the smallest in-stock packs.
What wick should I use for a 7 cm soy candle?
No one can name it before you burn it: inside diameter, wax, oil, load and fill all change it. For soy with a light oil our judgement is C1 or C2, which is why the ladder includes Cotton Braided above to fail high.
Do I need to test a double wick in a 7 cm jar?
Usually not. Pour a 2 × C1 arm only if the three single rungs leave the bracket open at the top, for example if Cotton Braided passes. The six C1 wicks are already in the 20-pack; stage 2 costs ₹1,684.00 in jars, oil, wax and a holder.
Is the C1 wick 10-pack available?
Not on 1 October 2026: it is out of stock. The C1 20-pack (₹118.00) is the smallest C1 you can buy, at the same ₹5.90 per wick, and for a 7 cm ladder it covers both stages and a re-pour.
Should I keep spare wicks of the sizes that failed?
Keep the ones you already own, but never reorder them for the same jar, wax, oil and load. A rung that failed in the expected direction has given its answer; safety stock belongs to the approved wick.
How many wicks should I buy after testing is finished?
Candles a month × wicks per candle × (1 + allowance), plus safety stock. At 120 candles and 5%, that is 126 single wicks a month. Packs are flat per wick, so buy the combination with the fewest leftovers.
Your first wick order for a 7 cm jar
C1 20 + C2 10 + Cotton Braided 10 = ₹332.40: three rungs now, a fourth arm in the same packs.
Measure the inside of your jar, pour nine 150 g candles at 8%, screen at burn 3, add 2 × C1 only if the bracket stays open, and buy production wicks only for the rung that closed it after full life. Send us your inside diameter on WhatsApp and we will check the order before you pay.

Editorial standards & sources
About this guide: part of CSI's cluster on jar diameter → wick testing (5501–5520): the purchase consequence of the bracket-closure rule for a 7 cm soy jar — all three CSI tabbed rungs at closure counts, a conditional 2 × C1 fourth arm from the same C1 20-pack, pack coverage, cash per stage, the stop-buying rule and the step to a production order and reorder point. The closure rule itself is in the 4201–4300 wick series; we link it rather than repeat it.

Non-price figures: load is a percentage of total candle weight (150 g at 8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax). The 150 g fill, the 0.35 cm wall and the 3.0 cm pair spacing are labelled assumptions; pool area = π r² on the inside radius. Ceilings are as the pages state (CSI 464 up to 10%, pour 80–90°C; Jasmine up to 10% for soy; the 150 g jar "Safe for hot pour up to 85°C"): formulation and pour limits, not regulatory ones or burn ratings. The melt-pool time (about an hour per 2.5 cm) is a commonly cited rule of thumb. The likely centre, the closure readings, the 5% allowance, the 120-candle month and the 10-day lead time are editorial judgement and worked examples. Costs exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST.
