CSI Deep Buyer · Hotel-Inspired Launch
Three hero oils, two supports, a three-week test calendar and reorder triggers you can check every Monday. Here is what to buy first, what it costs at three launch sizes, and when bulk actually pays.
₹4,386.02
Phase 1: five oils + wax, jars and wicks for 14 test candles · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Which oils do I buy first for a hotel-inspired launch? Three heroes and two supports. Heroes: Bergamot Amber (the signature), Sage and Cedarwood (the dry, clean wood) and White Royal Oud (the evening candle). Supports: Cucumber Green Tea (the fresh day scent) and Neroli Fragrance Oil (a bright reception-flower top). All five are in stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026.

How much do I spend before I know anything? ₹4,386.02 on the Lean route (heroes at 50 g, supports at 15 g, plus wax, jars and wicks for 14 test candles) or ₹5,200.81 on the Standard route (all five at 50 g, 20 test candles).

When do I buy 500 g or 1 kg? Only after an oil passes a blind burn at 8% or lower, and then 500 g, not 1 kg. On these five oils the 1 kg never beats two 500 g packs on price, and Sage and Cedarwood's 1 kg is 33% dearer per gram than its 500 g.

What does launch stock cost? Materials for 60 candles: ₹16,648.16; 150 candles: ₹37,192.10; 300 candles: ₹73,723.90. That is oils, CSI 464 wax, 150 g jars and wicks, excluding labour, freight, packaging and GST.
The short answer
Sequence: samples (week 1) → 14–20 test candles, 7-day cure (weeks 1–2) → blind burns (week 3) → launch stock of the survivors (week 4) → weekly reorder checks from the first sale.
Budget: Phase 1 ₹4,386.02 (Lean) or ₹5,200.81 (Standard). Launch stock ₹16,648.16 / ₹37,192.10 / ₹73,723.90 for 60 / 150 / 300 candles.
Decision rule: a hero must pass at 8% or lower, be picked blind by at least two of three testers, and keep its base after blow-out. Fail one and the bench oil for that role replaces it.
Reorder trigger: reorder when on-hand oil falls below three weeks of sales (two weeks lead time plus one week safety), in the pack that covers four to eight weeks.
Hotel-style launch: sample to shelf in 13 weeks A dated plan from 28 September 2026. Calendar facts, not forecasts; delivery time depends on your location. OCT NOV DEC 1 · Order samples Lean ₹4,386.02 2 · Pour 14–20 tests, cure 7-day cure 3 · Blind sniff + burns 2 burns a day 4 · Decide, order stock 60-candle scale 5 · Production pour + cure 6 · Diwali selling 7 · Read sales, triggers weekly stock check 8 · Christmas stock 150 scale 9 · Christmas selling Diwali 8 Nov Christmas 25 Dec Solid bars = decision or selling points. Shaded = work. Reorder triggers are checked weekly from 9 November. Phase 1 spend: Lean ₹4,386.02 or Standard ₹5,200.81. Launch stock: ₹16,648.16 (60) · ₹37,192.10 (150) · ₹73,723.90 (300). All figures CSI live pricing, verified 24 September 2026; materials only, excluding labour, freight, packaging and GST.
The whole plan on one timeline. Samples are ordered on 28 September 2026; the first decision falls on 17 October; the 60-candle launch stock sells into Diwali on 8 November; weekly reorder checks run from 9 November; the 150-candle restock is ordered by 1 December for Christmas on 25 December.
Straight answer
I am launching a hotel-inspired candle collection. Which fragrance oils do I buy first, in what order, and when do I buy bulk?
Buy three heroes at 50 g — Bergamot Amber (₹280.00), Sage and Cedarwood (₹354.00) and White Royal Oud (₹420.00), ₹1,054.00 together — and two supports, Cucumber Green Tea and Neroli, at 15 g (₹211.22) or 50 g (₹518.61). Pour each hero at 6%, 8% and 10% plus a retest, cure for seven days, burn blind, and give a hero slot only to an oil that performs at 8% or lower. Then buy launch stock of the survivors in 100 g and 500 g packs, sized to your first selling window: ₹16,648.16 in materials for 60 candles, ₹37,192.10 for 150. Reorder each oil when stock falls below three weeks of sales. Do not buy 1 kg of anything in the first cycle: on these five oils two 500 g packs cost the same as or less than one kilogram.
One line: test five, launch three to five, reorder by weeks of cover, and let the 500 g be your "bulk" size until one scent is selling every week.
Start the clock this week. The three heroes at 50 g cost ₹1,054.00 and make 12 test candles (three loads plus a retest each). Order by 28 September 2026 and your first decision falls on 17 October, three weeks before Diwali.
Buy Bergamot Amber 50 g — ₹280.00

The plan on one page

A launch fails less often on the wrong scent than on the wrong quantity at the wrong time.

Hotel-inspired is a style, not a named scent: a bright citrus or tea top, a clean herbal or soft-floral heart, and a dry-down of woods, musk and amber, built from families rather than copied from any hotel. The style and the full shortlist are explained in the hub, Buy Hotel-Inspired Fragrance Oils for Candle Making in India; this page assumes you have read it, or at least trust it, and turns it into a dated plan with a budget, rules for what to keep, and triggers for when to buy more.

The plan has five phases, each ending in a decision that limits what you can lose in the next. At no point do you hold a kilogram of something you have not tested.

Five phases, five decisions
What you buy, what you spend and what you decide in each phase
Phase When (from 28 Sep 2026) Buy Spend Decision at the end
1 · Sample Week 1 Heroes 50 g; supports 15 g or 50 g; wax, jars, wicks for 14–20 tests ₹4,386.02 – ₹5,200.81 Did everything arrive, and is anything obviously wrong from the bottle?
2 · Test Weeks 1–3 Nothing nil Which oils pass at 8% or lower, blind?
3 · Launch stock Week 4 Survivors in 100 g / 500 g packs, sized to one selling window ₹16,648.16 (60) to ₹73,723.90 (300) How many scents launch, and at what split?
4 · Reorder Weekly from first sale The next pack for any oil below three weeks of cover per oil, per trigger Reorder, upgrade size, or retire?
5 · Year one Diwali → Christmas → Valentine's → summer Seasonal re-weighting of the same five per season Which support rotates in, which rests?
Argued against our own interest: most first-time launch orders we see are too big, not too small. A kilogram of one oil is 83 candles at 8%. If your first selling window is Diwali and you have never sold a candle, 83 candles of a single scent is a stock problem, not a saving. The plan below never asks you for more than 500 g of any single oil in the first cycle.

Three heroes, two supports: the five oils and their jobs

Heroes carry the line. Supports make the heroes look deliberate.

A hero is a scent you would be happy to sell every week of the year, and it gets three loads of testing. A support has a narrower job (a season, a room, a price point) and gets one candle until it earns more. The split below is our judgement of fit against the style, based on each product page's stated notes, its stated candle load, per-gram price and stock at every size. CSI has no throw measurements for these oils and we do not invent them.

1
hero · signature · citrus amber, all three roles
Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil
The line's signature because it carries the whole hotel structure in one bottle: the page describes "sparkling bergamot and citrus top notes, warm amber and soft floral heart, woody musk and smooth vanilla base". It states "6-10% for soy wax candles, cure 48-72 hours. 6-8% for paraffin wax" — the only one of the five whose page states a cure. Share of launch stock: 30%, and the scent you judge the others against. Limitation: the vanilla in the base can push it sweet at 10%; that is exactly what your 8% versus 10% comparison is for.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹105.02 ₹7.00 1
50 g ₹280.00 ₹5.60 4
100 g ₹560.00 ₹5.60 8
500 g ₹2,718.00 ₹5.44 41
1 kg ₹5,437.00 ₹5.44 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹67.20 at 50 g, ₹65.23 at 500 g. The 500 g and 1 kg are both ₹5.44/g. Buy Bergamot Amber
2
hero · clean wood · herbal woody
Sage and Cedarwood Fragrance Oil
The "grown-up clean" candle: "Herbaceous sage with warm, woody cedar undertones", with a stated "Recommended Fragrance Load: Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". In our judgement customers read it as "lobby" rather than "spa". Share of launch stock: 25%. Limitations: no 15 g size, so 50 g is your smallest buy; and its 1 kg (₹6,867.60) is dearer per gram than its 500 g (₹2,584.20), which changes the reorder rule for this one oil.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
50 g ₹354.00 ₹7.08 4
100 g ₹696.20 ₹6.96 8
500 g ₹2,584.20 ₹5.17 41
1 kg ₹6,867.60 ₹6.87 83
At 500 g the oil in an 8% candle costs ₹62.02; at 1 kg it costs ₹82.41. Buy 500 g packs. Buy Sage and Cedarwood
3
hero · evening · soft oud, all three roles
White Royal Oud
The evening end of the line and the candle you price highest. Stated notes: "bergamot and saffron top notes, white royal oud, rose petals, and labdanum middle notes, and creamy sandalwood, ambergris, and soft musk base"; stated load "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles". The page calls it "IFRA-certified" — that is the page's wording; ask for the documents on WhatsApp. Share of launch stock: 20%. Limitation: oud divides people, so it is the hero most likely to fail a blind test with testers who are not you, and at ₹8.10/g it is the dearest oil in the plan.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹130.00 ₹8.67 1
50 g ₹420.00 ₹8.40 4
100 g ₹810.00 ₹8.10 8
500 g ₹4,051.00 ₹8.10 41
1 kg ₹8,103.00 ₹8.10 83
Priced flat from 100 g: 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg are all ₹8.10/g, so 100 g bottles carry no price penalty. Buy White Royal Oud
4
support · fresh day scent · green tea
Cucumber Green Tea
The fresh, daytime candle and the cheapest oil in the plan. Stated notes: "Top Notes: Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves | Heart Notes: Delicate jasmine, hints of lemon | Base Notes: Clean musk, light woods". The page says "we recommend using 8-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax"; we apply it, like every load here, as a percentage of total candle weight and still pour a 6% control. It is a support rather than a hero because its "light woods" base can read spa more than hotel (the spa reading is covered in the spa hub). Share of launch stock: 15%, rising in summer.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 g ₹176.41 ₹3.53 4
100 g ₹352.82 ₹3.53 8
500 g ₹1,663.80 ₹3.33 41
1 kg ₹3,327.60 ₹3.33 83
The 15 g is ₹6.21/g, 76% dearer per gram than the 50 g. Oil per 8% candle at 500 g: ₹39.93. Buy Cucumber Green Tea
5
support · reception flowers · citrus floral
Neroli Fragrance Oil
A bright top for the "fresh flowers at the front desk" candle. The page describes "Bright neroli with hints of orange blossom, honey, and soft green undertones" and states "Recommended Fragrance Load: Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". It is a support because it is top-led: in our judgement it needs a woody hero beside it in the range to read "hotel". Share of launch stock: 10%. Limitation: the "honey" note can warm it towards sweet, so smell the 15 g against Cucumber Green Tea before committing.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 g ₹118.00 ₹7.87 1
50 g ₹342.20 ₹6.84 4
100 g ₹665.52 ₹6.66 8
500 g ₹3,327.60 ₹6.66 41
1 kg ₹6,655.20 ₹6.66 83
From 100 g it is flat at ₹6.66/g — 15.4% less per gram than the 15 g. Buy Neroli

The bench: one substitute per role

Every role has a named replacement, so a failed test changes one bottle, not the plan. If Sage and Cedarwood fails, the clean-wood bench oil is Sandalwood Fragrance Oil (50 g ₹271.40, flat ₹5.03/g from 100 g). If White Royal Oud fails, the evening bench oil is Woody Oud Fragrance Oil (50 g ₹271.40, ₹4.53/g from 100 g), drier and cheaper. If Neroli fails, the bright bench oil is Verbena Fragrance Oil (15 g ₹106.20), "Crisp lemony verbena with herbal undertones". Bergamot Amber has no bench: if the signature fails, stop and re-read the hub, because your idea of the style and ours differ.

Phase 1: the sample order at two budgets

Sample size follows the question each oil must answer. A hero must answer "what load?" — three candles at 6%, 8% and 10% (9 g, 12 g and 15 g of oil in a 150 g candle) plus a 12 g retest at the chosen load, 48 g in total, which is why 50 g is the smallest useful hero bottle. A support only has to answer "does this belong at all?", which one 12 g candle at 8% can answer, so 15 g is enough on the Lean route.

Phase 1 · two budgets

What it proves Hero loads; support yes/no Loads for all five; supports can become heroes

The Standard route costs ₹814.79 more. Choose it if you already suspect a support could be a hero — for example, if your brand leans fresh and Cucumber Green Tea might become the signature. Choose Lean if your brand leans warm. Either way the wax, jars and wicks cost more than the oils at test scale, so do not economise on oil sizes.

Why not 15 g of everything?
A 15 g bottle makes one 150 g candle at 8%: it tells you whether you like an oil, not what load it needs, so you would reorder before launching. Cucumber Green Tea's 15 g is 76% dearer per gram than its 50 g, and Sage and Cedarwood has no 15 g.
Mistake: ordering Phase 1 and launch stock together "to save a delivery". Fix: keep them separate. The saving is one delivery charge; the risk is paying for 500 g of an oil that fails at every load. If delivery cost is the worry, add your wax, jars and wicks for launch to the Phase 1 order instead — those do not depend on test results.

Phase 2: the test calendar, day by day

Three weeks, one variable at a time, one decision at the end.

The dates below assume you order on Monday 28 September 2026 and the parcel is with you by Saturday 3 October. Delivery time depends on where you are, so confirm the dispatch date on WhatsApp and slide every date by the same amount if it arrives later. The method itself — weigh by total weight, same wax, same wick, same cure — is the same one the hub uses; what this calendar adds is the order in which oils are poured and judged, and the decision date.

1
3 October · pour heroes first, supports lastPour the twelve hero candles (three heroes × 6%, 8%, 10% and a retest you pour later), then the supports at 8%. For 150 g: 6% = 9 g oil + 141 g wax; 8% = 12 g + 138 g; 10% = 15 g + 135 g. Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's page gives melt/pour at 80–90°C and a maximum of 10%, which is also every one of these oils' stated maximum, so 10% is your ceiling. Label oil, load, wick and date on the base before you pour.
2
3–10 October · cure seven days, untouchedBergamot Amber's page states 48–72 hours; the others do not state a cure. Seven days for everything keeps the comparison fair and, in our judgement, lets the woods and musks settle. Store lids on, away from sun. Do not sniff early and change your mind.
3
10 October · blind cold sniff with three peopleSomeone else numbers the jars. Each tester scores every candle 1–5 on three lines — bright top, clean heart, warm base — and names the one they would buy.
4
11–16 October · two burns a day, same roomOne candle per session, two to three hours, same room and door position. Score the doorway at 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours, and check the base five minutes after blow-out. Order: Bergamot Amber (11 October), Sage and Cedarwood (12–13), White Royal Oud (14–15), supports (16).
5
16 October · pour the retestsFor each hero, pour one more candle at the lowest load that scored well. It confirms the result and becomes your photography sample.
6
17 October · decide, using the rules belowApply the decision rules in the next section, fill in the launch split, and place the Phase 3 order the same day.
The scoring sheet, one line per candle
Oil · load · wick · cold total (out of 15) · doorway at 1 hour (1–5) · base after blow-out (yes/no) · soot or tunnelling (yes/no) · testers who picked it blind (0–3). The decision rules below use only these columns.

Wick is not a variable in this calendar. Use Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1) in every candle; if the melt pool has not reached the glass edge after two to three hours, repeat that oil with Thick (C2) in the retest slot. The C1 and C2 are starting points: jar diameter is the deciding factor and it is not stated for this jar, so a melt-pool test is the only honest answer. Wick selection is covered in Strong Hotel-Inspired Fragrance Oils for Candle Making, and soy behaviour by family in Premium Hotel Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles.

Decision rules: what earns a hero slot

Write these down before you burn anything, so the result decides, not your mood on 17 October. None depends on a supplier's claim, including ours.

Six rules for 17 October
Apply in order; stop at the first rule an oil fails
# Rule If it fails
1 Passes the doorway test (score 3 or more at 1 hour) at 8% or lower Drop to the bench oil for that role; do not "fix" it by going to 10%
2 Picked blind by at least two of three testers as one they would buy Keep it only as a support; it does not get hero stock
3 Base still present five minutes after blow-out It reads "room spray", not "hotel"; support only
4 No soot or tunnelling at the chosen load with C1 or C2 Repeat with the other wick in the retest slot before judging the oil
5 Oil cost per candle fits your price tier (see below) Keep it for a premium sub-line or a smaller jar, not the core range
6 In stock at 100 g and 500 g on the day you order Ask on WhatsApp before promising it to a customer

Rule 5 in rupees: what each oil puts into a candle

Worked examples at 8% in the 150 g clear jar with golden lid, CSI 464 wax and a C1 wick, at the pack size you would reorder in: Bergamot Amber (500 g) ₹235.55; White Royal Oud (100 g) ₹267.52; Cucumber Green Tea (500 g) ₹210.25. The non-oil part is identical — ₹70.02 of wax, ₹94.40 of jar and ₹5.90 of wick, ₹170.32 in total — so the whole difference is oil: ₹57.27 a candle between the dearest and cheapest oils in the plan. All of these exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST, and pricing a range from them is the subject of Hotel Fragrance Oils for Luxury Candles.

Load matters too. At 10% instead of 8%, each candle takes 3 g more oil: ₹16.31 more on Bergamot Amber at the 500 g price, ₹24.30 more on White Royal Oud at 100 g. Across 150 White Royal Oud candles that is ₹3,645.00, which is why rule 1 says 8% or lower. If an oil needs 10% to pass, that is a result, not a failure, but it goes into your costing.

If only two heroes pass: launch with two heroes and one support; you do not need five scents for a first window. If all five pass: still launch the three heroes at full share and hold the supports to 100 g each until they sell. If Bergamot Amber fails: pause the launch and read Buy Hotel-Inspired Fragrance Oils for Candle Making in India again before buying a replacement.

Phase 3: launch stock at 60, 150 and 300 candles

Buy for one selling window, not for the year.

Launch stock is sized from the number of candles you can realistically sell before your next order arrives, split across the five oils at 30% / 25% / 20% / 15% / 10% (heroes first). Each oil is bought as the cheapest combination of in-stock 100 g and 500 g packs that covers its grams; we left 15 g and 50 g out of production buying because their per-gram prices are higher. The three scales are worked examples: a Diwali soft launch (60), a first full season (150) and a production run for a shop or corporate order (300). Batch planning above 300 candles is covered in Bulk Hotel Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers.

What the table tells you

Oil is about a third of the bill. Oils are 36% of the 60-candle total and 30% of the 300-candle total. Oil works out at ₹101.06 per candle at 60 candles, ₹76.61 at 150 and ₹74.41 at 300; the jar alone is ₹94.40. To cut the budget, cut candle count or change the jar before oil quality. Jar options are in the glass jars collection.

Scale lowers the per-candle cost, but not through bulk prices. Going from 60 to 300 candles takes the material cost per candle from ₹277.47 to ₹245.75. Most of that comes from rounding: at 60 candles you buy oil in 100 g steps (1,000 g for 720 g of need) and 9 kg of wax for 8.28 kg. Per-gram discounts play a smaller part: CSI 464 is priced flat per gram from 1 kg to 10 kg, the jar and wick prices are flat per unit across pack sizes, and the only cheaper grams are the 500 g packs of Bergamot Amber, Sage and Cedarwood and Cucumber Green Tea bought at the larger scales (Sage and Cedarwood markedly: ₹5.17 per gram against ₹6.96 at 100 g). Scale is not where your margin comes from on this set.

Leftovers are a feature. At 60 candles you buy 1,000 g of oil for 720 g of need; the spare 280 g is your first reorder buffer. At 150 candles, Sage and Cedarwood's single 500 g covers 456 g of need with a little to spare; at 300 it takes two 500 g packs (₹5,168.40), not the 1 kg (₹6,867.60).

Ready to order launch stock? Send us your split and scale on WhatsApp and we will confirm 100 g and 500 g stock for each oil, the dispatch date and a GST invoice. For the Diwali window (8 November 2026), order by 17 October.

Phase 4: reorder triggers and when bigger packs pay

A reorder trigger is a stock level, per oil, at which you order the next pack without deciding anything. You need two numbers: how many grams each oil uses per week, and how many weeks it takes from ordering to having finished candles on the shelf. In this worked example we assume one week for dispatch and delivery (confirm yours on WhatsApp) and one week to pour and cure, plus one week of safety stock: three weeks of cover.

Reorder triggers · worked example at 25 candles a week
Reorder point = weekly grams × 3 weeks. Reorder pack = the pack that covers four to eight weeks.
Oil Sells / week Grams / week Reorder when stock falls below Reorder pack Pack cost Weeks it covers
Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil 8 96 g 288 g 500 g ₹2,718.00 5.2
Sage and Cedarwood Fragrance Oil 6 72 g 216 g 500 g ₹2,584.20 6.9
White Royal Oud 5 60 g 180 g 3 × 100 g ₹2,430.00 5.0
Cucumber Green Tea 4 48 g 144 g 2 × 100 g ₹705.64 4.2
Neroli Fragrance Oil 2 24 g 72 g 100 g ₹665.52 4.2

Read the table every Monday: weigh the open bottles, compare with the reorder point, and order anything below it. Sage and Cedarwood's 500 g covers 6.9 weeks at six candles a week, so it is your least frequent order; Neroli at two a week needs only one 100 g bottle, about 4.2 weeks. Cucumber Green Tea is shown with 100 g bottles in winter because 500 g would cover more than ten weeks at four a week; switch it to 500 g from March, when summer demand for a fresh scent usually builds.

When does a bigger pack actually save money?

Less often than you would expect on this set. The table shows, for each oil, the size at which the per-gram price stops falling — call it the floor size. Buying above the floor saves nothing per gram; it only means fewer orders.

The floor size for each oil · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Above the floor size, bigger packs do not lower the price per gram
Oil 50 g 100 g 500 g 1 kg Floor size Two 500 g vs one 1 kg
Bergamot Amber Fragrance Oil ₹5.60 ₹5.60 ₹5.44 ₹5.44 500 g ₹5,436.00 vs ₹5,437.00 — 1 kg is ₹1.00 dearer
Sage and Cedarwood Fragrance Oil ₹7.08 ₹6.96 ₹5.17 ₹6.87 500 g (1 kg is dearer) ₹5,168.40 vs ₹6,867.60 — 1 kg is ₹1,699.20 dearer
White Royal Oud ₹8.40 ₹8.10 ₹8.10 ₹8.10 100 g ₹8,102.00 vs ₹8,103.00 — 1 kg is ₹1.00 dearer
Cucumber Green Tea ₹3.53 ₹3.53 ₹3.33 ₹3.33 500 g ₹3,327.60 vs ₹3,327.60 — identical
Neroli Fragrance Oil ₹6.84 ₹6.66 ₹6.66 ₹6.66 100 g ₹6,655.20 vs ₹6,655.20 — identical

So the size-upgrade rules for this line are simple. Bergamot Amber and Cucumber Green Tea: move from 100 g to 500 g once you use more than 125 g a month; the 500 g is 2.9% and 5.7% cheaper per gram than their 50 g, which is ₹1.97 a candle on Bergamot Amber. White Royal Oud and Neroli: stay in 100 g bottles as long as you like; eight 100 g bottles of White Royal Oud (₹6,480.00) cost the same ₹8.10 per gram as a kilogram, and the White Royal Oud 100 g is already 3.6% below its 50 g. Sage and Cedarwood: 500 g packs only; the 1 kg is 33% dearer per gram, so if you need a kilogram, ask us on WhatsApp and take two 500 g packs.

We sell the 1 kg of every oil in this plan. On this five-oil set, in September 2026 pricing, it never saves you a rupee per gram over the 500 g. Buy it when you want fewer orders, not a lower price. The general rule for which oils deserve 1 kg inventory across a whole catalogue is worked through in I'm Buying Multiple Fragrance Oils in 1 Kg Quantities — How Should I Decide Which Ones Deserve Bulk Inventory?, and the full per-gram ladder for every hotel-style oil in Hotel-Inspired Candle Fragrance Oils Wholesale in India.

Three more triggers that are not about stock

The retire trigger. After six weeks of selling, any scent selling less than half the line average is not reordered. Sell it through, and pour the bench oil for its role at 50 g in the next test cycle. The promote trigger. A support that sells at or above the hero average for four straight weeks gets a three-load test at 50 g or 100 g and, if it passes, a hero share in the next order. The festival trigger. Six weeks before a festival you sell into (Christmas on 25 December 2026, Valentine's Day on 14 February 2027), raise every hero's cover from three weeks to six, because a stock-out in the last fortnight costs more than a spare 500 g.

Phase 5: the first year, season by season

The five oils stay the same all year; the split changes. Dates are calendar facts; the seasonal shifts are our judgement, not a sales forecast.

Calendar facts, not forecasts
Window Dates Lean into Hold back Stock rule
Diwali order stock by 17 Oct; Diwali 8 November 2026 Bergamot Amber, White Royal Oud (gifting) Cucumber Green Tea 60-candle scale; heroes only if time is short
Christmas and New Year order by 1 Dec; Christmas 25 December 2026 White Royal Oud, Sage and Cedarwood Neroli Festival trigger: six weeks of hero cover
Winter roughly December–February (colder in the North, milder in the South) Woods and oud Fresh supports at 100 g Reorder points as in the table
Valentine's Day 14 February 2027 White Royal Oud (rose, saffron) as the evening gift — Festival trigger from early January
Indian summer roughly April–June Cucumber Green Tea, Neroli, Bergamot Amber White Royal Oud Move Cucumber Green Tea to 500 g from March
Southwest monsoon roughly June–September Sage and Cedarwood, Bergamot Amber Neroli Second test cycle for bench oils

When the monsoon slows sales, run a second test cycle on the bench oils (Sandalwood, Woody Oud, Verbena) at 50 g, so a tested replacement is ready for any hero that tires. The season-by-season inventory method across collections is in I Want to Launch Different Candle Collections for Summer, Monsoon and Winter — How Should I Plan My Fragrance Oil Inventory?; the elimination method for a spa line beside this one is in I Want to Launch a Spa Candle Collection — Which 5–10 Fragrances Should I Test Before Buying in Bulk?.

Christmas, 25 December 2026: the festival trigger fires around 13 November. For the 150-candle scale that means holding six weeks of hero cover — roughly two 500 g packs of Bergamot Amber and one of Sage and Cedarwood, plus White Royal Oud in 100 g bottles. The CSI principle
Test by the gram, launch by the window, reorder by the week.
Each phase buys only what the last phase proved. On this set the 500 g is the largest pack that ever lowers your price per gram, so it is the largest pack your plan needs.
"A launch plan is a list of decisions with dates on them. Buy the samples that answer the first decision, and nothing that depends on the last one."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia supplies the oils, wax, jars and wicks named here and does not sell finished candles. This plan keeps your first orders small and shows where our own larger packs save you nothing per gram.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was checked on CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. All five plan oils were in stock at every listed size on that date; any size shown out of stock elsewhere is flagged and never offered as buyable. Candle loads, notes and cure wording are quoted from each product page.

The hero/support split, the launch percentages, the sell-through rates and lead times in the reorder example, and the seasonal re-weighting are editorial judgement and worked examples, not sales data; CSI has no throw measurements for these oils. Frequently asked questions

How many fragrances should I launch a hotel-inspired candle line with?
Three heroes and at most two supports. Three heroes cover the signature, the clean wood and the evening candle; supports add a season or a price point. If only two heroes pass your blind test, launch with two and one support: a small line that sells through beats a large one that sits.
How much does it cost to start a hotel-style candle collection in India?
Samples and test materials cost ₹4,386.02 (Lean) or ₹5,200.81 (Standard) with CSI oils. Launch stock in materials costs ₹16,648.16 for 60 candles, ₹37,192.10 for 150 and ₹73,723.90 for 300, in 150 g clear jars with CSI 464 soy wax, excluding labour, freight, packaging and GST.
When should I buy fragrance oil in 1 kg instead of 500 g?
On this hotel-style set, only when you want fewer orders. Two 500 g packs cost the same as or less than one kilogram for all five oils, and Sage and Cedarwood's 1 kg is 33% dearer per gram than its 500 g. Move a hero to 500 g packs once it uses more than about 125 g a month.
How do I know when to reorder candle fragrance oil?
Set a reorder point per oil: grams used per week × weeks from order to finished candle, plus a week of safety. With one week of delivery, one week of pour and cure and one week of safety, reorder when stock falls below three weeks of use. Weigh the bottles every Monday.
How long does it take to test fragrance oils before launching candles?
About three weeks: pour on day one, cure seven days, then a week of burn tests at two candles a day, and a decision on day fifteen. Ordering on 28 September 2026 puts the decision on 17 October, in time to pour launch stock for Diwali on 8 November.
Can I name my candles after a famous hotel?
No. Do not use a real hotel's or perfume house's name on your labels, and do not claim a candle reproduces a specific hotel's scent. CSI does not sell an oil that reproduces any hotel's scent. Name candles after moods or places in general terms — Lobby, Suite, Terrace, Late Check-out.
