CSI Collection Buying · Spa & Wellness
Spa is a style, not a single scent: cool eucalyptus and mint, green tea and cucumber, zesty lemongrass, soft lavender and a quiet wood underneath. Here are the five CSI oils that build it, what to test them in, and what a first basket costs.
₹1,260.21
five spa oils × 50 g — one from each spa family, enough to test each at 6%, 8% and 10% · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What does "spa fragrance" mean for a candle? It is a style built from five families: cool aromatics (eucalyptus, mint), green notes (green tea, cucumber), zesty herbs (lemongrass, verbena, lime), soft herbal florals (lavender, a little jasmine or neroli) and clean, quiet woods (sandalwood, cedar). A spa candle smells fresh and uncluttered rather than sweet or smoky. CSI does not sell an oil that copies any real spa's signature scent; you build the style from these families.

Which CSI oils should I buy first? Eucalyptus Spearmint, Cucumber Green Tea, Lemongrass and Lime, Lavender and Sandalwood. All five are in stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026, and all five pages state a candle load that tops out at 10%.

How much should I buy? 50 g of each: ₹1,260.21 for 250 g of oil. That pours every oil at 6%, 8% and 10% in a 150 g jar with 12 g left for a confirmation candle. The 15 g set (₹476.42) only lets you smell and pour one candle per oil.

What does a full first basket cost? ₹5,316.21 with 3 kg of Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468, 20 clear jars, wicks and wick stickers: ₹265.81 per test candle, excluding freight and GST.
The short answer
The style: fresh, green, herbal and quietly woody; no gourmand sweetness, no smoke, nothing loud. Think of it as a room that has just been cleaned and aired, with a warm towel somewhere.
The shortlist: Eucalyptus Spearmint (cool), Cucumber Green Tea (green), Lemongrass and Lime (zesty herbal), Lavender (soft herbal floral), Sandalwood (clean wood).
The buy: 50 g of each, ₹1,260.21. On all five, the 15 g is the dearest size per gram: 7% to 76% dearer than the 50 g.
The test: 6%, 8% and 10% in 150 g jars, cured a week, burned in a small closed room. Keep the lowest load that still reads fresh after an hour.
The spa scent map: where each CSI oil sits Placed from the notes each product page states. Positions are editorial judgement, not measurements. TREATMENT-ROOM FRESH SOFT FLORAL WATER AND HERB WARM WOOD Eucalyptus Spearmint Lemongrass and Lime Verbena Cucumber Green Tea Neroli Jasmine Lavender Blue Ocean Sage and Cedarwood Palo Santo Sandalwood ← cool, sharp warm, soft → temperature of the scent airy green grounded woody Shortlist: five oils, 50 g each = ₹1,260.21 Round two: test after the shortlist A good spa line takes at least one oil from the top-left and one from the bottom-right. Stock checked 24 September 2026.
Eleven in-stock CSI oils placed on two axes using only the notes their pages state. The five filled dots are the shortlist: between them they reach every corner of the map, which is what lets a five-candle spa line feel like a range rather than five versions of one idea.
Straight answer
I want to start a spa-style candle range. Which CSI fragrance oils do I buy first, and in what size?
Buy 50 g each of Eucalyptus Spearmint (₹212.40), Cucumber Green Tea (₹176.41), Lemongrass and Lime (₹330.00), Lavender (₹270.00) and Sandalwood (₹271.40): ₹1,260.21 for 250 g. Those five cover the cool, green, zesty, soft and woody corners of the spa style, so the test tells you which direction your brand leans rather than which of five similar oils is best. Pour them into Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 (stated up to 13%) or Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (up to 10%); either way the oils' own stated maximum of 10% is the lower ceiling and it governs. Do not buy 500 g or 1 kg of anything until an oil has passed a burn test, and do not buy 15 g bottles for this test: they hold enough for one candle each.
One line: spa is five families, so buy one oil from each family at 50 g, burn them in a small room, and let the room tell you which direction your range should take.
The cool corner, cheaply. Eucalyptus Spearmint 50 g is ₹212.40 (₹4.25 per gram), four 150 g candles at 8%. Its page states "Recommended fragrance load up to 10% for soy wax, up to 6% for paraffin".
Buy Eucalyptus Spearmint 50 g — ₹212.40

What "spa" means as a scent style

A spa candle is defined as much by what it leaves out as by what it contains.

When a customer says a candle "smells like a spa", they are rarely describing one note. They mean a room that feels scrubbed, aired and unhurried: something cool or green on first sniff, something herbal or softly floral once the candle has been lit for a while, and a faint warm wood underneath that stops the whole thing smelling like a cleaning product. That is a style, and a style can be assembled from oils you can actually buy. What you cannot buy, from CSI or from anyone honest, is a named spa's own scent. We do not sell an oil that reproduces any real spa, salon or hotel signature, and you should never put a real business's name on your label.

We sort the spa style into five families. You do not need all five in one candle. You need all five within reach when you plan a range, because customers who like spa candles tend to buy two or three at once and want them to feel different.

1 · Cool aromatics: eucalyptus and mint

The sharpest, most instantly "spa" note. Eucalyptus reads as steam room and towel; spearmint rounds it and keeps it from turning sharp. At CSI this family is one oil, Eucalyptus Spearmint, whose page describes it as "combining crisp eucalyptus with cool spearmint". It is a two-note accord rather than a full top-heart-base pyramid, which makes it easy to recognise and easy to overdo.

2 · Green: green tea and cucumber

Watery, leafy, slightly bitter and very clean. This is the family most people picture when they hear "spa" in a retail context. Cucumber Green Tea is the CSI oil here, with stated notes of crisp cucumber and fresh green tea leaves over "delicate jasmine, hints of lemon" and a base of "clean musk, light woods". There is no pure green tea or white tea oil in the range on 24 September 2026; more on that gap below.

3 · Zesty herbal: lemongrass, verbena, lime

Bright, grassy citrus. In India lemongrass is a familiar kitchen and garden smell, which is an advantage: customers recognise it instantly. Lemongrass and Lime gives the full structure, "zesty lime and fresh lemongrass top notes, light ginger and herbal middle notes, and subtle cedarwood and soft musk base". Verbena ("crisp lemony verbena with herbal undertones") is the simpler alternative.

4 · Soft herbal florals: lavender, a little jasmine or neroli

The family that makes a spa candle feel soft rather than bracing. Lavender is the anchor: Lavender Fragrance Oil lists "fresh lavender top notes, herbal green mid notes, and soft musk base", herbal enough to sit beside eucalyptus and soft enough for an evening candle. Jasmine and neroli belong here too, in restraint. A spa candle whose floral note becomes the headline has turned into a floral candle.

5 · Clean woods: sandalwood, cedar, palo santo

The quiet base. Wood gives a spa range its warm end, the candle for after the massage rather than before. Sandalwood ("warm, creamy, luxurious single-note sandalwood") is the most versatile; Sage and Cedarwood is drier and more herbal; Palo Santo adds soft citrus, amber and "a touch of incense", which some buyers will read as meditation rather than spa (that direction is covered in Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candles).

Spa vs its neighbours
How the spa style differs from the two styles it is most often confused with
Style Opening Middle Base Sweetness
Spa (this cluster) Cool aromatic or green: eucalyptus, mint, cucumber, green tea, lemongrass Herbal or soft floral: lavender, a trace of jasmine Quiet wood and musk Very low
Hotel-inspired (1601) Citrus peel, tea, light spice Clean herbal or quiet rose Woods, musk, amber, soft oud Low, a little vanilla allowed
Clean and fresh (1631) Aquatic, citrus, green Airy florals, soft musk Light musk Low
Not spa at all Fruit, sugar, spice Heavy florals Vanilla, caramel, smoke, heavy oud Medium to high

The overlap with "clean" and "hotel" is real: Cucumber Green Tea fits all three styles. The difference is emphasis. A hotel-style candle leans on its base; a spa candle leans on its opening and heart and keeps the base in the background. If your customers keep asking for "fresh linen" or "clean cotton", read Buy Clean Fragrance Oils for Candle Making in India instead; that is a different style, and one where CSI has a gap.

What we will not claim, argued against our own interest: that any of these oils does anything to the person breathing it. Fragrance oils are blended scent materials, not essential oils, and a spa candle is a scent and a mood, not a treatment. We describe these oils by what they smell like and what people associate them with. If you want help wording your labels and listings without drifting into health claims, Relaxing Fragrance Oils for Candle Making and Wellness-Inspired Candle Fragrance Oils in India cover exactly that.

Reading the spa scent map

The map at the top of this page places eleven in-stock CSI oils on two axes. Left to right runs temperature: how cool and sharp or how warm and soft the oil reads from its stated notes. Top to bottom runs weight: airy and green at the top, grounded and woody at the bottom. Positions are our judgement from the page wording, not measurements, and your nose may move a dot or two. The shape of the map is still useful, for three reasons.

The shortlist reaches every corner. Eucalyptus Spearmint sits alone at the cool, airy extreme; Sandalwood at the warm, grounded extreme; Lemongrass and Lime and Cucumber Green Tea fill the fresh upper-left; Lavender sits almost exactly in the middle, which is why it pairs with everything else on the list. If you only test oils from one quadrant, you learn which of three similar oils you prefer, not what kind of spa brand you are.

The top-left is crowded; the bottom-left is thin. There are several cool, green, airy oils. There is almost nothing that is cool and woody at once, a mineral, wet-stone kind of spa scent. Blue Ocean (sea salt, ozone, driftwood) and Sage and Cedarwood come closest. If your concept is "stone and water", test those two in round two.

The upper-right is where spa turns floral. Neroli and Jasmine are lovely oils, but a range that leans that way becomes a floral range. Use them as a single soft candle in a line, not as its centre.

A quick way to use the map
For a three-candle spa line, take one oil from the top-left (morning, bright), one from the centre (Lavender) and one from the bottom-right (evening, warm). For five, add a second fresh oil and a second wood. The finished collection design, with names and roles, is the job of Best Fragrance Oils for a Spa Candle Collection; the priced kits for a business are in Spa Fragrance Oil Collection for Candle Businesses.

The five spa oils to buy first

One oil per family. The family you end up keeping tells you more than the oil does.

Ranked by what we can show you rather than by what we like: which family the stated notes cover, whether the page states a candle load, price per gram at 50 g, stock depth across sizes, and whether the oil has enough base to last through a burn. CSI has no throw measurements for these oils and we will not invent any. Candle counts assume a 150 g candle at 8% (12 g of oil).

1
cool aromatic · the signature spa opening
Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil
The oil that says "spa" in one sniff. The page describes it as "combining crisp eucalyptus with cool spearmint", states "Recommended fragrance load up to 10% for soy wax, up to 6% for paraffin", and calls it "IFRA-certified" (the page's wording; ask for documents on WhatsApp). It is the least expensive oil on the shortlist at 15 g, 500 g and 1 kg. Limitation: it is a two-note accord with no stated base, so at the top of its range it can tip from "steam room" to "cold remedy". Compare your 8% and 10% candles in a small room before choosing.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹68.44 ₹4.56 1
50 gm ₹212.40 ₹4.25 4
100 gm ₹354.00 ₹3.54 8
500 gm ₹1,652.00 ₹3.30 41
1 kg ₹3,068.00 ₹3.07 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹50.98 at 50 g, ₹36.82 at 1 kg. Buy Eucalyptus Spearmint
2
green · the retail "spa" note
Cucumber Green Tea
The softest way into fresh. Stated notes: "Top Notes: Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves | Heart Notes: Delicate jasmine, hints of lemon | Base Notes: Clean musk, light woods". The page says "we recommend using 8-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax"; the wording is loose, so we treat it like every other load here, as a percentage of total candle weight, and test 6%, 8% and 10%. At ₹3.53 per gram it is the cheapest of the five at 50 g. Limitation: the 15 g bottle is 76% dearer per gram than the 50 g, the steepest small-size premium on the list.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹176.41 ₹3.53 4
100 gm ₹352.82 ₹3.53 8
500 gm ₹1,663.80 ₹3.33 41
1 kg ₹3,327.60 ₹3.33 83
Oil per 8% candle at the 50 g price: ₹42.34. Buy Cucumber Green Tea
3
zesty herbal · the Indian-familiar freshness
Lemongrass and Lime
Lemongrass is a scent many Indian customers already know from home, which shortens the sell. The page gives a complete structure, "zesty lime and fresh lemongrass top notes, light ginger and herbal middle notes, and subtle cedarwood and soft musk base", states "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles", and describes itself as "IFRA-certified" (page wording). The cedar and musk base means it should hold together longer than a plain citrus. Limitation: it is the dearest of the five at 50 g (₹6.60 per gram), so it is the one to be sure about before scaling.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹116.52 ₹7.77 1
50 gm ₹330.00 ₹6.60 4
100 gm ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8
500 gm ₹2,600.00 ₹5.20 41
1000 gm ₹5,200.00 ₹5.20 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹79.20 at 50 g, ₹62.40 at 500 g. Buy Lemongrass and Lime
4
soft herbal floral · the centre of the map
Lavender Fragrance Oil
The most adaptable spa oil: herbal enough to sit next to eucalyptus, soft enough to be the evening candle. Stated notes: "fresh lavender top notes, herbal green mid notes, and soft musk base". The page states "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles" and calls it "A strong, IFRA-certified lavender fragrance oil" (page wording). It carries five published customer reviews, including two at four stars, which you can read on its product page. Limitation: lavender is familiar, so on its own it does not make a range distinctive. Above 50 g its per-gram price barely moves (₹5.40 to ₹5.22), so there is little reason to rush to 1 kg.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹105.02 ₹7.00 1
50 gm ₹270.00 ₹5.40 4
100 gm ₹540.00 ₹5.40 8
500 gm ₹2,620.00 ₹5.24 41
1 kg ₹5,221.00 ₹5.22 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹64.80 at 50 g, ₹62.65 at 1 kg — a saving of only ₹2.15. Buy Lavender
5
clean wood · the warm end of the range
Sandalwood Fragrance Oil
Every spa line needs one candle that feels like the end of the day rather than the start. The page describes a "warm, creamy, luxurious single-note sandalwood fragrance oil with a smooth woody aroma and subtle earthy undertone" and states "Recommended load up to 10% for soy, up to 6% for paraffin". Because it has no bright top of its own, it will never fight the fresh oils in a range. Limitation: on its own it reads as "sandalwood candle", not "spa"; it earns its place as the warm partner to one of the fresh oils above.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹271.40 ₹5.43 4
100 gm ₹502.68 ₹5.03 8
500 gm ₹2,513.40 ₹5.03 41
1 kg ₹5,026.80 ₹5.03 83
Oil per 8% candle at 50 g: ₹65.14. Flat at ₹5.03/g from 100 g upward. Buy Sandalwood
Only buying two? Eucalyptus Spearmint plus Sandalwood, the two opposite corners of the map: ₹483.80 for 100 g. Three? Add Cucumber Green Tea, total ₹660.21. Lavender is the natural fourth, and Lemongrass and Lime the fifth.
The oil we left off the shortlist, and why: the listing called Jasmine Coconut Spa Ceylon (that is CSI's own product listing name; CSI is not affiliated with any spa or brand of that name, so do not put "Spa Ceylon" on your own candle labels) has "spa" in its name and appealing notes ("Coconut Milk, Bergamot | Jasmine Sambac, Tiare Flower | Vanilla Cream, Sandalwood, Soft Musk"). Its page does not state a candle load; it describes use "as EDP (18–22%)", which is a perfume rate, not a candle load. At ₹7.98 per gram for 50 g it costs 1.9 times Eucalyptus Spearmint per gram. It also leans tropical and sweet. Worth a round-two test for a "resort" candle; not a first-order buy.

15 g, 50 g or 100 g: the sample route

The size you test in decides what the test can tell you. A proper load test pours each oil at three loads, 6%, 8% and 10%, which in a 150 g candle means 9 g, 12 g and 15 g of oil: 36 g in total. A 15 g bottle is exactly one 10% candle or one 8% candle with 3 g spare. It can tell you whether you like an oil. It cannot tell you which load the oil wants.

Three ways to buy the same five spa oils
What each route costs and what it can prove · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Route Buy Oil total Oil Avg per gram What it proves
A · Sniff first 15 g of each of the five ₹476.42 75 g ₹6.35 Cold sniff and one 8% candle per oil. No load comparison.
B · Three-load test (our pick) 50 g of each of the five ₹1,260.21 250 g ₹5.04 6%, 8% and 10% per oil plus a confirmation candle.
C · Early commitment 100 g of each of the five ₹2,339.50 500 g ₹4.68 Eight candles per oil, most of them of oils you may drop.

Route B costs ₹783.79 more than Route A and buys 175 g more oil: ₹4.48 per extra gram, which is less than the average per-gram price of either route. That is because the 15 g is the dearest size per gram on all five of these oils. How much dearer depends on the oil, and the spread is wider than most buyers expect:

The small-bottle premium
15 g price per gram compared with the 50 g price per gram, same oil
Oil 15 g 15 g per gram 50 g per gram 15 g premium
Eucalyptus Spearmint ₹68.44 ₹4.56 ₹4.25 7%
Cucumber Green Tea ₹93.22 ₹6.21 ₹3.53 76%
Lemongrass and Lime ₹116.52 ₹7.77 ₹6.60 18%
Lavender ₹105.02 ₹7.00 ₹5.40 30%
Sandalwood ₹93.22 ₹6.21 ₹5.43 14%

Eucalyptus Spearmint is the exception: its 15 g is only 7% dearer per gram, so if you want a cheap sniff of the cool corner before committing, ₹68.44 is a fair price for that. Cucumber Green Tea is the opposite: ₹93.22 for 15 g against ₹176.41 for 50 g means you pay less than twice the money for more than three times the oil. We sell the 15 g. For this test, don't buy it.

Beyond 50 g, the story changes oil by oil. Eucalyptus Spearmint gets much cheaper per gram at 1 kg; Lavender barely moves; Sandalwood is flat from 100 g. That full per-gram ladder, and exactly where a kilogram starts to pay, is the subject of Spa Fragrance Oils Wholesale in India. For a first order it does not matter: you are buying information, not stock.

If you are testing more than five
Narrowing ten or more candidates? Then Route A earns its place as a first cut: sniff ten 15 g bottles, keep five, then buy 50 g of those five. The ranked ten-oil elimination plan, with budgets and cut rules, is set out in I Want to Launch a Spa Candle Collection — Which 5–10 Fragrances Should I Test Before Buying in Bulk?.

The first spa basket, priced line by line

Twenty candles. Three loads per oil, one confirmation candle each.

For this hub we price the basket in Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468, a coconut-soy flake whose page states a pour temperature of 58–60°C and a load of up to 13%. That ceiling is higher than any of the five oils' own stated maximum of 10%, so the oils' 10% is the lower ceiling and the one you work to. Ceilings are formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and the maximum is rarely the best-performing load. The alternative is Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, stated up to 10% with a melt and pour range of 80–90°C: three 1 kg bags cost ₹1,522.20 against ₹1,950.00 for CSI 468, a difference of ₹427.80. Which wax suits fresh spa notes better is the question Luxury Spa Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles answers; for a first basket either works.

The non-oil lines come to ₹4,056.00, more than the oils. That is normal for a test basket and it is why the oil size is not the place to economise. CSI 468 is ₹0.65 per gram at 1 kg and ₹0.64 at 10 kg; for a 2.76 kg test there is no reason to buy the 10 kg bag.

What one spa candle costs

Worked example, Eucalyptus Spearmint at 8% in a 150 g clear jar: 12 g of oil at the 50 g price (₹50.98) + 138 g of CSI 468 (₹89.70) + one jar from the pack of 10 (₹94.40) + one C1 wick (₹5.90) = ₹240.98. With the oil at its 1 kg price, the same candle is ₹226.82, a difference of ₹14.16. Move the same candle into a Clear Frosted Glass Jar (₹70.80 each from the pack of 10) and it is ₹217.38; that listing gives the same 8 cm height and 7 cm width as the clear jar but does not state a fill weight, so fill one with water or wax and weigh it before you rely on that figure. All three figures exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. The frosted look suits spa well; premium vessels and their costs are compared in Luxury Spa Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles.

Wick check
The C1 thin wick is a starting point, not a prescription. Jar diameter and oil both change what a wick needs. If the melt pool has not reached the glass edge after two to three hours, retest with Thick (C2) at ₹94.40 for 10 (₹9.44 each), or browse the Candle Wicks collection. Run a melt-pool test before you settle on any wick for production.

How to test a spa candle

Spa candles are often burned in small rooms: a bathroom, a treatment room, a bedroom with the door shut. A test in an open-plan living room will mislead you, usually towards too high a load. The plan below is built around that.

1
Pour by weight, three loads per oilFor a 150 g candle: 6% = 9 g oil + 141 g wax; 8% = 12 g + 138 g; 10% = 15 g + 135 g. Five oils at three loads is fifteen candles, 180 g of oil and 2,070 g of wax. Pour all fifteen on the same day at the temperature on the wax page, and label each jar with oil, load, wick and date before filling.
2
Cure for a week, all togetherNone of the five oil pages states a cure time. At least 48–72 hours is common practice, and longer for soy is common too; we cure spa tests for seven days and sniff at day 3 and day 7. Never compare a three-day candle with a seven-day one.
3
Cold sniff, blind, for characterHave someone hand you the jars with labels hidden. For each, write one word for character (cool, green, zesty, soft, woody) and one for any off-note (sharp, medicinal, soapy, flat). This is where you find out whether your Eucalyptus Spearmint at 10% reads "steam room" or "cough drop".
4
Burn in a small closed roomOne candle at a time in a bathroom-sized room with the door shut, for two hours. Note what you smell on entering at 20 minutes and at one hour. Air the room fully between candles.
5
The one-hour fatigue checkAt the one-hour mark, step out for five minutes and walk back in. A good spa candle still reads fresh. A poor one reads heavy or sharp, or you cannot smell it at all. Record which. This is the step that most often drops the 10% candle in favour of the 8%.
6
Pick the lowest passing load, then a roleFor each oil keep the lowest load that passed step 5. On Eucalyptus Spearmint at the 50 g price, 10% instead of 8% costs ₹12.74 more oil per candle; the saving matters less than the result. Give each survivor a role: morning (bright), day (green or soft) or evening (wood). Pour the confirmation candle at the chosen load before you buy 500 g.
Mistake: testing spa oils in a big room and pushing the load to 10% because "fresh scents are weak". Fix: test where the candle will be used. Cool aromatics like eucalyptus can be overpowering in a small space at the top of their range. The page maximum is a ceiling, not a target.
Score sheet
Six columns: oil, load, cold-sniff character word, off-note (if any), small-room score at one hour (1–5), still fresh after the step-out (yes/no). The oil you reorder is the one that scores well at the lowest load, not the one you liked most from the bottle.

Gaps, near-misses and oils to leave for later

A hub that only tells you what to buy is a catalogue. Here is what we do not have.

No white tea, no bamboo, no fresh linen or clean cotton oil is listed on 24 September 2026. Cucumber Green Tea is the nearest to a tea note and Blue Ocean the nearest to "clean air". No standalone eucalyptus, mint, ginger or tulsi oil either: eucalyptus comes paired with spearmint, and ginger appears only inside blends: a "light ginger" middle note in Lemongrass and Lime (and a ginger top note in Pumpkin Spice, which is not a spa oil). If any of these is central to your concept, ask us on WhatsApp before you design around it rather than buying the nearest thing and hoping.

Spa-adjacent oils worth a second test, with the reason each waited

Sage and Cedarwood Herbaceous sage, warm woody cedar; up to 10% for soy A drier alternative to Sandalwood No 15 g. The 1 kg (₹6,867.60) costs more per gram than the 500 g (₹2,584.20); ask on WhatsApp before ordering 1 kg

Lavender Oud – Calm Meets Kingdom Lavender, bergamot, clary sage over oud; no candle load stated Perfume-grade and priced like it 100 g ₹1,200.00; the 500 g (₹6,200.00) is 3.3% dearer per gram than the 100 g. Oil per 8% candle: ₹144.00

The last two rows are where we argue against our own till. Both are attractive oils; neither page states a candle load, and both cost roughly one and a half to two and a half times the shortlist's average of ₹5.04 per gram. For a first spa order, oils with a stated candle load and a candle-grade price are the better-evidenced buy. The lavender comparison (standard Lavender against Lavender Oud and the brand-inspired lavender listing) is worked through in Lavender, Sandalwood and Floral Fragrance Oils for Relaxing Candles.

A note on supplier questions: what to ask any spa-fragrance supplier, including us, about documentation and page wording is covered in Premium Spa Fragrance Oil Supplier in India; how to place a bulk order once you have a winner is in Where to Buy Spa-Inspired Fragrance Oils in Bulk.

When spa candles sell in India

Spa is not a seasonal style in the way Christmas spice is, but the calendar still shapes what you should stock first. These are calendar facts, not forecasts.

The spa calendar · dates as of 24 September 2026
Which end of the map each part of the year favours
When What happens Which oils lead
Now to 8 November 2026 Diwali (8 November) is 45 days away: corporate and wellness gifting, hampers Lavender and Sandalwood: soft, familiar, giftable

Roughly April to June 2027 Indian summer The cool end: Eucalyptus Spearmint, Cucumber Green Tea, Lemongrass and Lime
Roughly June to September 2027 Southwest monsoon: damp, closed-window weeks Lemongrass and Lime and the green oils; test for small rooms

If you start the test above this week, you have a decision by mid-October and can pour a Diwali batch of the winner. How to turn that decision into a dated launch plan with reorder triggers is exactly what I Want to Launch a Spa Candle Collection — Which 5–10 Fragrances Should I Test Before Buying in Bulk? lays out; the batch maths for 250, 500 and 1,000 units is in Bulk Spa Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers.

Diwali gifting, 8 November 2026: test the five-oil set now (₹1,260.21), decide by mid-October, then take 500 g of your winner. Lavender 500 g is ₹2,620.00 and makes 41 candles at 8%. Ask us on WhatsApp for a quote with GST invoice and a dispatch date before you promise a customer.

The CSI principle
Test the families before you test the oils.
Five oils from five spa families teach you which direction your brand leans. Five oils from one family only teach you which bottle you prefer. Buy wide at 50 g, then deep at 500 g.
"A spa candle is a clean room with a warm towel in it. Buy the clean and the warm separately, and decide the balance with a lit wick."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the oils, wax, jars and wicks named here and does not sell finished candles. This page tells you to skip the 15 g bottles and the 1 kg bottles on a first order, leaves our own "spa"-named listing off the shortlist, and names the gaps in our range, because a first order that fails costs you more than it earns us.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. Out-of-stock sizes would be flagged as such; all five shortlisted oils were in stock at every listed size on that date. Notes, candle loads and IFRA wording are quoted from each product page; where a page does not state a candle load, we say so.

The family definitions, the scent map positions, the test method and which oils read "spa" rather than "floral" or "meditation" are editorial judgement; CSI has no throw measurements for these oils. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Which fragrance oil smells like a spa for candles?
No single oil is "the" spa scent. The style is cool aromatic or green on top (eucalyptus, mint, cucumber, green tea, lemongrass), herbal or softly floral in the middle (lavender) and quietly woody underneath (sandalwood, cedar). At CSI, Eucalyptus Spearmint is the most instantly "spa" single oil and Cucumber Green Tea the softest.
What are the best spa fragrance oils for candle making in India?
For a first order: Eucalyptus Spearmint, Cucumber Green Tea, Lemongrass and Lime, Lavender and Sandalwood, one from each spa family. All five were in stock at every size on 24 September 2026 and state a candle load up to 10%. 50 g of each costs ₹1,260.21.
Is eucalyptus fragrance oil the same as eucalyptus essential oil?
No. A fragrance oil is a blended scent material made for products like candles; an essential oil is a plant extract. CSI's Eucalyptus Spearmint is a fragrance oil. Describe it on your label by its scent, not as an essential oil, and make no claims about what it does for the body.
How much fragrance oil do I need to test a spa candle?
Testing at 6%, 8% and 10% in 150 g candles uses 9 g, 12 g and 15 g of oil: 36 g per oil, plus 12 g for a confirmation candle. That is why a 50 g bottle is the right test size and a 15 g bottle is not.
Can I use more than 10% fragrance oil in coconut soy wax?
Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 states up to 13%, but every oil on the spa shortlist states a maximum of 10%. The lower of the two ceilings governs, so work to 10% at most, and test 6% and 8% as well: the highest load is often not the best one in a small room.
How much does it cost to make a spa candle at home in India?
Worked example: a 150 g Eucalyptus Spearmint candle at 8% in CSI 468 coconut soy wax, a 150 g clear glass jar with golden lid and a C1 wick costs ₹240.98 in materials at the 50 g oil price, or ₹226.82 at the 1 kg price. Both exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST.

Wax ceilings as stated by the wax pages: CSI 468 up to 13% (pour 58–60°C), CSI 464 up to 10% (melt and pour 80–90°C); these are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Per-candle costs are worked examples and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST.
