The most useful thing a supplier can tell you before a commercial order is what it does not know.

If you are about to manufacture reed diffusers commercially with our base, oils and reeds, you should ask us questions — and you should know in advance which answers exist. Some are already on our product pages: prices, pack sizes, what each base page says it is for, the 10–30% load range, the 24–48 hour rest, reed length and pack sizes. Some we can provide on WhatsApp: IFRA certificates and MSDS for fragrance oils, GST invoices, quotes above the listed packs, and expected dispatch dates. And some are not published at all, and no message to us will produce them: the composition, viscosity, density, evaporation rate, flash point and shelf life of our bases; the diameter of our reeds; the neck size and fill line of our bottles; lead times and lot numbers.

That third group is not a reason to avoid buying. It is a reason to test, and this page shows exactly which questions to send us, which to answer with your own bench, and how to turn the answers into a decision. Two small page artefacts are worth knowing so they do not confuse you. The Lift and Softness listing handles still contain "ships 20th July" — a stale note from an earlier listing; both are in stock. And the base pages mention rattan reeds in places; CSI sells fibre reeds, not rattan. Neither changes the product, but your records should note them. Compare the two Pure Performance sizes properly
The 100 g costs ₹3.25 per gram. The 500 ml costs ₹2.20 per ml, which is ₹2.20 per gram at an example density of 1.00 g per ml (₹2.31 at 0.95, ₹2.09 at 1.05). The 500 ml is cheaper per gram for any density above 0.676 g per ml — but for a small sample, two 100 g packs (₹650.00) cost less in total than one 500 ml (₹1,099.00).

The IFRA certificate matters more for diffusers than many makers realise. Reed diffusers are listed under IFRA Category 10A in current IFRA amendments, as commonly summarised in suppliers' IFRA guides — confirm against the category descriptions on the certificate itself. The limit on that line applies to the fragrance concentration in your finished product, and it can be lower than the 30% maximum on our base pages. The lower of the two always wins. The common mistake: assuming a candle oil's paperwork covers diffusers. A maker who has used an oil in candles for years assumes it is fine at 25% in a diffuser. The IFRA certificate lists different limits for different product categories, and a reed diffuser is not a candle. Fix: for every oil, read the Category 10A line on its certificate before you set your load, and file the certificate with your formula. The same applies to any oil you move from candles to diffusers.

The reed questions are where testing replaces asking. Two packs of fibre reeds can draw liquid at different rates, and with no published diameter the only way to know is to weigh a bottle reeded from the new pack beside one from the old pack for a week. Non-price figures and assumptions: Load convention: fragrance load is a share of the TOTAL blend by weight (oil g = blend g × L; base g = blend g × (1 − L)). No density is published for any CSI base or oil, so every ml ↔ g conversion uses a labelled example density with its ±5% sensitivity; weigh 100 ml of your own blend to get yours. Labelled examples: 20% load, 45 ml fill in the 50 ml Gold bottle, 30 g clarity sample, density 1.00 g/ml (0.95 and 1.05 shown), 6 black fibre reeds per bottle. Reed diffusers are listed under IFRA Category 10A as commonly summarised in suppliers' IFRA guides — confirm on each certificate. What CSI's product pages state (quoted as claims to test, not CSI test results): Pure Performance — neutral, "no added fixatives, no complex enhancements", for all fragrance families, start at 10%, up to a maximum of 30%, 20% recommended, typical working blend 75% base + 25% fragrance, rest 24–48 hours before bottling, flip reeds after the first hour; Longevity — oriental/amber, woody, resinous, spicy and gourmand families, avoid light florals, fresh citrus and aquatics, slower "cold diffusion", reduce the percentage if clouding occurs; Lift — floral, citrus, green and fruity families; Depth — chypre, leather, smoky and rich gourmand; Softness — soft florals, powdery/musky and light gourmand; all four 10–30% with a 24–48 hour rest. Reed pages: 20.3 cm long; "for a standard 50–100 ml diffuser bottle, 6–8 reeds gives a good balance" (the page's guidance, not a test result). CSI does not publish the composition, viscosity, density, evaporation rate, flash point or shelf life of any diffuser base; no throw, longevity or evaporation data for any base, oil or reed; no reed diameter; no bottle neck size or fill line; no IFRA percentage for any oil; no lead times and no bulk base price. No CSI base is ranked above another on this page: the pages differ in what they say each base is FOR, and those statements are claims to test.
