Choosing a Reed Diffuser Base Supplier
Consistency is proved between two deliveries, documents are asked for in writing, and availability is tested by reordering. This page gives you the scorecard, applies it to CSI without rounding up, and prices the two-lot test.
₹4,470.20
CSI materials for a two-lot consistency test — two 500 ml units of Lift Base from separate orders, Neroli, four 50 ml bottles, white reeds, scale and beaker · CSI live pricing, October 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What makes a base supplier reliable? The same base every delivery, the documents you need, and stock you can reorder. None of the three can be read off a product page.

How do I check consistency? Seal a sample from lot A, mix it and lot B on the same day with one oil, and compare neat-base checks, clarity, grams per day and blind scores. ₹4,470.20 on CSI's listed packs.

What documents should I ask for? An SDS or technical sheet for the base, IFRA certificates for each oil, and lot identification. CSI offers MSDS and IFRA documents for oils on WhatsApp; ask whether a base sheet is available.

How does CSI score? Prices, usage guidance and oil IFRA documents score well; composition is not published for any base. See the honest scorecard.
The short answer
Answer: Choose on evidence: a scorecard of consistency, documentation and availability, a two-lot test of the base itself, and neat-base checks on every delivery.
Why: Product pages carry claims, not lot-to-lot data. CSI, for example, publishes usage guidance and prices but no composition, density or shelf life for any base.
Method: Seal 150 ml of lot A, buy lot B at your next order, mix both the same day with one oil, hold for clarity to 7 days, weigh for g/day and score blind; approve if B sits within A1–A2's spread.
Qualifying a reed diffuser base supplier Consistency is proved between two lots, not claimed on one page · documents are asked for, never assumed 1 Shortlist base pages that name your families 2 Documents SDS/TDS, IFRA, lot numbers 3 Lot A test kit; seal a 150 ml sample 4 Lot B second order, mix A and B same day 5 Approve write the spec and the tolerance 6 New lots neat-base checks + one blend Consistency Same colour on a white card Same density, ±your tolerance Same clarity with your oil Same g/day and room score Documentation SDS / technical sheet (ask) IFRA certificate per oil Lot number on each pack Usage guidance in writing Availability Listed in stock at your size A second size to scale into A quote for volume, in writing Reorder works twice running A supplier who publishes no composition can still be a good supplier — if the base is the same every time you buy it. Only your own two-lot test and your neat-base checks on each delivery can show that. No product page can.
Qualifying a base supplier in six steps, with the checks behind each of the three things a commercial maker needs. Steps 3 and 4 — two lots, mixed on the same day with one oil — are the only way to see consistency for yourself.
Straight answer
How do I choose a reed diffuser base supplier in India that provides consistent quality, technical documentation and repeat wholesale availability?
Score suppliers on what you can check, then prove consistency yourself across two deliveries. Consistency means the base you receive next time matches the one you approved — same appearance, density, clarity with your oil, grams lost per day and blind room score. Documentation means an SDS or technical sheet for the base, IFRA certificates for each oil (reed diffusers sit under Category 10A in current amendments) and lot identification. Availability means you can reorder the same product at a size you can grow into. Scored honestly, CSI publishes prices, usage guidance and stock status for every base, offers MSDS and IFRA documents for oils and GST invoicing on WhatsApp, but publishes no composition, density or shelf life for any base — ask whether a base data sheet is available. Then run the two-lot test: seal 150 ml of Lift Base from lot A, buy lot B at your next order, mix both on the same day with one oil, and approve only if B matches A. On CSI's listed packs it costs ₹4,470.20, most of it stock you would buy anyway.
One line: the same base twice, the papers in writing, the reorder proven — then approve.
Judge a base supplier on three things you can check — consistency between lots, documents you can obtain, and stock you can reorder — not on page claims. The cheapest proof is a two-lot test: two 500 ml units of Lift Base bought in separate orders, one oil, four 50 ml bottles — ₹4,470.20 with scale and beaker.

What "consistent quality, documentation and availability" actually means

A base that is perfect in one bottle is a sample. A base that is the same in every bottle, every month, is a supplier.

When a reed diffuser maker says they want a reliable base supplier, they usually mean three different things, and it helps to separate them, because each one is checked in a different way. Consistency is whether the base you receive in March behaves like the base you approved in October — the same look, the same weight per millilitre, the same clarity with your oils, the same performance in a room. Documentation is whether you can get the papers a commercial product needs: a safety data sheet or technical sheet for the base, IFRA certificates for the oils, and some way of telling one lot from another. Availability is whether you can reorder the same product, at a size that fits your growth, without your best seller going out of stock.

Supplier choice is one step in the business pillar how to start a profitable reed diffuser business in India; whether a ready-made base is the right kind of product at all is the pillar Augeo-type bases, DPG and alcohol formulas compared.

None of the three can be read off a product page. A page can say a base is "professional grade" or performs in Indian climates; those are claims, and a careful buyer treats them as claims to test. What a page can tell you is what is published and what is not — and that is where the evaluation starts. Below is a scorecard you can use for any supplier, then the same scorecard applied honestly to CSI, then the two-lot test that answers the consistency question for your own base. The base choice itself is the pillar which reed diffuser base to buy in India; this page is about the supplier behind it.

The CSI principle
Consistency is something you measure between two deliveries, not something a supplier promises in one.
The supplier's job is to make the same base every time. Yours is to check that it did — cheaply, on every lot, against a sample you kept.

The supplier scorecard — and how CSI scores, honestly

Score each line 0 (not available), 1 (partly, or only on request) or 2 (published or offered as standard). It is a house scale — yours to adjust — and the point is to write the gaps down before you buy, not after. A "?" means the answer has to come from a question to the supplier, not from the page.

Example house scale 0–2 · CSI's listings as of 14 October 2026 · "?" = ask, not yet known

We have scored ourselves without rounding up. The weakest line is composition: no CSI base page says what the base is made of — not DPG, not Augeo, not alcohol, not anything — and none publishes density, viscosity, evaporation rate, flash point or shelf life. If your buyers, your insurer or your own safety process need a data sheet, ask on WhatsApp whether one is available for the specific base before you commit; we will not promise one here. The strongest lines are the published prices, the usage guidance on each page and the IFRA documents for oils, which is what most small makers need first.

Our listings also have small inconsistencies you should know about, because a careful buyer notices them: two base handles still contain "ships-20th-july", a stale artefact on products that are in stock; some base pages mention "rattan" though CSI sells only fibre reeds; the white reed listing's text calls them "black fiber reeds"; and the bottle text says "50 and 100ml" while the variants are 50 ml and 120 ml. None changes what you receive, but they are exactly the kind of thing to confirm in writing when a product matters to your business. What to ask CSI before buying for commercial manufacturing turns these into questions.

Score at least two suppliers
A scorecard with one supplier on it is a description. Fill it in for every base you are considering — including any DPG- or solvent-based option you are pricing from another supplier — and compare the gaps, not the claims. Augeo-type bases, DPG and alcohol formulas compared explains, from general industry knowledge, what those alternatives involve.

Documents: what to ask for, and what each one tells you

Documents a commercial reed diffuser maker commonly asks for · what each is for
The paperwork list
Document What it is for For CSI products
SDS / MSDS for the base Hazard, handling, storage and transport information Ask on WhatsApp whether one is available for the base — not promised
Technical data sheet for the base Physical properties a maker can check a lot against Not published; ask
IFRA certificate for each fragrance oil The oil's maximum use level by IFRA category — reed diffusers are listed under Category 10A in current amendments MSDS and IFRA documents offered on WhatsApp
Lot or batch identification Ties a problem bottle to a delivery Not stated on the listing; ask what identification each pack carries
Written usage guidance Load range, rest time, families Published on every base page
GST invoice Your accounts and input credit Offered

The IFRA line matters most for your product, and it is about the oil, not the base. CSI publishes no IFRA percentage for any oil on its pages; the certificate is the document that does. The lower of the oil's Category 10A limit and the base's 30% page maximum is your ceiling. Reading supplier compatibility data and IFRA Category 10A limits shows how, and what to check on an SDS and technical data sheet covers the base documents in detail.

The common mistake: treating a data sheet as a quality guarantee. A data sheet describes a product; it does not prove that the drum in front of you matches it. Fix: use the document for what it is — hazard and handling information, and properties to check — and keep doing the neat-base checks on every lot yourself.

The two-lot test: is the base the same next time?

You cannot test consistency with one delivery. You need two, and you need to mix them on the same day.

Buy one 500 ml of the base you have chosen — here Lift Base, whose page names floral, citrus, green and fruity families — and, at your next normal order, a second 500 ml. When the first arrives, weigh 100 ml for its density, then seal a 150 ml sample in a clean, dry, full, capped glass bottle and keep it in the dark. When the second arrives, mix both lots on the same day, with the same oil bottle, on the same scale. That removes time and oil as variables: the only thing that differs between bottles A and B is the delivery.

If B matches A, you have evidence — your own, for your oil, in your room — that the supplier delivered the same base twice. Repeat the neat-base checks on every later lot, and repeat the blend test whenever a neat check looks different or you change oil. If B does not match, you have a specific, documented question to put to the supplier, with a sealed reference to compare against. Testing a new base supplier before replacing the base in a bestseller applies the same method to a supplier switch.

Lift Base — lot A 150 ml sealed + density check + blends 1 × 500 ml ₹1,099.00
Lift Base — lot B (next order) Neat checks + blends 1 × 500 ml ₹1,099.00

Total ₹4,470.20

Almost all of it is stock you would buy anyway: two units of your production base, a pack of bottles, reeds and tools. The true test cost is four bottles of liquid — about ₹562.90 at these rates — set against a month's run that, at an example 200 bottles and ₹499.00 each, is ₹99,800.00 of sales resting on the base being the same.

Availability: what repeat wholesale supply really needs

Availability is the least glamorous and most expensive of the three. A diffuser range built on a base you cannot reorder is a range you have to reformulate. CSI's own catalogue gives a live example: CSI HyperDiffusion Base™, whose page calls it the strongest-projection base, is out of stock. Anyone who had built a best seller on it would now be retesting. That is not a reason to avoid a supplier; it is a reason to plan for a stock-out at every supplier.

Qualify a second base A ready fallback if the first goes out of stock Pure Performance's page says it is for all families — a natural backup
Ask for a written quote for volume Price and availability in one message Quoted on WhatsApp; no discount published
Never build on an out-of-stock product You cannot reorder it HyperDiffusion is out of stock — not offered

Ask the supplier directly how they handle larger orders and how much notice they need — and get the answer in writing. CSI does not publish lead times or stock counts; we will answer on WhatsApp for your quantities. Monthly wholesale requirements based on sales and lead times turns the answer into a reorder plan, and buying base and oil from the same supplier weighs the convenience of one supplier against the risk of one point of failure.

The best supplier is not the one with the best claims. It is the one whose second delivery matches the first — and who tells you when it will not.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We would like you to buy every base from us and nothing from anyone else. A careful business qualifies a backup — ideally a second CSI base such as Pure Performance, but possibly another supplier's — before it needs one. If our scorecard's composition and data-sheet lines are deal-breakers for your buyers, ask us first; if the answer does not meet your needs, that is a legitimate reason to choose someone else.
Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026. If festive orders will be your first big reorder, place lot B now rather than in November, so the two-lot test is done before production. Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished diffusers. A supplier writing its own scorecard has every reason to round up. We scored composition at 0 because no CSI base page publishes it, named the stale handles and page inconsistencies on our own listings, and pointed to HyperDiffusion being out of stock as the availability lesson.

Diffuser base, reed, bottle and tool prices are CSI live pricing, pulled 14 October 2026. Fragrance-oil prices are CSI live pricing, pulled 24 September 2026, stock re-checked 14 October 2026. CSI HyperDiffusion Base™ is out of stock and appears only as such. Every gram split, unit count, per-bottle cost and kit total on this page is computed and shown to two decimals so you can check it.

Bottle counts per arm, hold times, fill volumes, example densities, example grams-per-day figures, scoring scales and allowances are labelled working practices or examples, not industry standards. The 0–2 scale, the 150 ml sealed sample, the ±1 g per 100 ml density tolerance, the 45 g fill, the 200 bottles a month and the ₹499.00 price are labelled examples. Frequently asked questions

How do I find a good reed diffuser base supplier in India?
Shortlist suppliers whose base pages name your fragrance families, ask for the documents you need in writing, buy a test unit, then compare a second delivery against a sealed sample of the first before you scale.
What documents should a reed diffuser base supplier provide?
Commonly an SDS or technical data sheet for the base, IFRA certificates for each fragrance oil, lot identification and a GST invoice. CSI offers MSDS and IFRA documents for oils on WhatsApp; ask whether a base sheet is available.
Does CSI publish the composition of its reed diffuser bases?
No. No CSI base page states composition, density, viscosity, evaporation rate, flash point or shelf life. Ask on WhatsApp what technical information can be provided.
How do I test reed diffuser base consistency between batches?
Seal a sample of the first lot, then mix it and the new lot on the same day with the same oil. Compare appearance, density, clarity to 7 days, grams lost per day and blind room scores.
What if my reed diffuser base goes out of stock?
Qualify a backup base before you need one. On CSI, Pure Performance's page says it is for all fragrance families, which makes it a natural fallback; HyperDiffusion is currently out of stock.
Can I get wholesale pricing on reed diffuser base from CSI?
CSI lists bases in 500 ml (and Pure Performance in 100 g). Larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp; no volume discount is published.
Evidence, not claims
Score the supplier. Seal lot A. Mix it beside lot B. Then decide.
Lift Base ₹1,099.00 per 500 ml, Neroli ₹342.20 per 50 g, Gold bottles ₹826.00 per ten 50 ml, white fibre reeds ₹450.00 per 50. Tell us on WhatsApp which documents you need and how much you expect to reorder, and we will answer in writing.

CSI's listing inconsistencies named on this page are as seen on 14 October 2026. What CSI's base pages state (quoted as claims to test, not CSI test results): every base gives a 10% starting load, 20% recommended, 30% maximum, of total blend, and a 24–48 hour rest before bottling; Pure Performance adds a typical working blend of 75% base + 25% fragrance and the example "for a 100 ml finished diffuser at 25%: 75 ml base + 25 ml fragrance oil" (by volume); Longevity says to avoid light florals, fresh citrus and aquatics, and "if clouding occurs, reduce fragrance percentage and retest". The reed pages give a 20.3 cm length and "for a standard 50–100 ml diffuser bottle, 6–8 reeds"; reed diameter is not published. The bottle listing's text says "50 and 100ml" while its variants are 50 ml and 120 ml; neck size, fill line and any reducer are not published. CSI publishes no composition, density, viscosity, evaporation rate, flash point or shelf life for any base, no IFRA percentage for any oil, and no diffusion, throw or longevity measurement for any base, oil or reed. Every ml-to-gram conversion here uses a labelled example density with ±5% sensitivity; every grams-per-day figure is a labelled example for the arithmetic, never a measurement.
