Where to Buy Professional Fragrance Oils for Jar Candles
Aktie
What makes a fragrance oil supplier professional? Eight things: sizes from tester to kilo, a per-gram price you can calculate, stock shown per size, documents on request, GST invoicing, wax and jars alongside, honest load guidance, and a person who answers. See the checklist.
Does CSI provide IFRA certificates? IFRA and MSDS documentation are available on request. Ask on WhatsApp for each oil you use. This page does not state any individual oil's IFRA percentage or flash point.
Can I buy oils, wax and jars from one supplier? Yes. Our example basket for 24 Yankee jars — four 50 g oils, 2.5 kg of CSI 464, jars, wicks and stickers — costs ₹3,891.02. I Want One Supplier for Wax, Fragrance Oils, Wicks, Jars, Dyes and Moulds — What Should I Check Before Buying All My Candle Raw Materials From Them? covers what to check before consolidating.
Eight checks for any supplier
Professional jar candle makers need a supplier that supports the whole cycle: test, cost, produce, prove and reorder. Each check below maps to one of those. The third column says what CSI publishes or offers; the last is the question to ask any supplier, including us.
| Check | Why it matters for jar candles | What CSI offers | Ask |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sizes from tester to production | You test in grams and produce in kilos; switching supplier between the two changes the oil | 15 g to 1 kg; 15 g in stock for 51 oils | Is the smallest size in stock for the oils I want? |
| Price per gram you can calculate | Jar costing starts from ₹ per gram | Every size priced on the product page | Does the per-gram price fall with size, or stay flat? |
| Stock shown per size | An out-of-stock kilo stalls production | Stock shown per size; out-of-stock sizes flagged | Can a best-seller be reserved or restocked by a date? |
| Documents on request | Retailers and corporate buyers ask for them | MSDS and IFRA documentation on request | Send the IFRA certificate for each oil I use |
| GST invoice | Needed for business accounts and B2B sales | GST invoicing available | Invoice in my business name and GSTIN |
| Wax, wicks and jars from the same place | One order, one invoice, one delivery | Container waxes, Eco/cotton/wooden wicks, several jars and tins | Can oil, wax and jars ship together? |
| Honest load guidance | Over-loading wastes oil and can seep | Chunks up to 13%, CSI 464 up to 10% (wax maker's stated maximums) | What is the stated maximum for the wax I use? |
| A human for bulk and questions | Quotes, stock and paperwork need a reply | WhatsApp +91 7397976926 | Quote my monthly quantities |
The first three checks decide whether you can cost a jar at all. If a supplier sells only large packs, you cannot test cheaply; if it hides per-size prices, you cannot compute a price per gram; if it does not show stock, you cannot plan. On CSI's list, 51 oils have an in-stock 15 g, 81 an in-stock 50 g and 73 an in-stock 1 kg, and every size is priced. The per-gram pattern is published in this cluster: the 15 g carries a median 23.1% premium over the 100 g, and above 100 g most oils are priced flat.
The next three decide whether you can sell professionally. MSDS and IFRA documentation matter the first time a retailer or corporate buyer asks, and they will. A GST invoice matters for your own accounts and for B2B customers. Buying wax, wicks and jars alongside the oil means fewer deliveries and one invoice. The last two decide whether the relationship works: honest guidance on load, and a person who answers a WhatsApp message about stock or a quote.
What we do not publish
Some of the most useful information for a jar candle maker is not something a supplier can honestly publish, because it depends on your wax, jar and wick. Here is what CSI does not publish, what to do instead, and where in this series it is covered.
| Not published | What to do instead | Where to read more |
|---|---|---|
| Hot-throw or cold-throw measurements for any oil | Test side by side in your jar and wax | Strong oils for scented jar candles |
| Wick sizes by jar diameter | Burn test with two or three wicks | Large three-wick jars |
| Fill weights for most jars (the 85 g tin is the exception) | Weigh a test pour | The container candle hub |
| IFRA percentages or flash points per oil on this page | Ask for the IFRA certificate on WhatsApp | |
| A volume discount figure | Ask for a quote with exact quantities | Wholesale for jar candle businesses |
| A fragrance sample pack or discovery set | Build your own from 15 g and 50 g sizes | Buying oils for jar candles |
| A three-wick jar or tealight cups | Ask whether CSI can supply |
The same applies to load. The only fragrance-load ceilings quoted in this series are the wax maker's stated maximums for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (up to 13%) and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (up to 10%). For other waxes, ask for the maker's stated maximum. Those are formulation limits, not regulatory ones; the IFRA documentation for each oil is what covers the regulatory side.
A one-supplier basket, priced
Here is what a professional jar candle maker's first combined order might look like: four scents, six jars each, in the Yankee Glass Jar 130 ml with a clear cap at ₹47.20 each. Its fill weight is not published; this basket uses an illustrative 100 g, so each jar takes 8 g of oil and 92 g of wax at 8%. Six jars need 48 g of oil per scent, 49.92 g with a 4% allowance — which fits a 50 g bottle. The allowance sits inside the working assumption of 3–5% extra for pour loss and test burns.
| Item | Pack | Price | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sage and Cedarwood | 50 g | ₹354.00 | 6 jars (48 g; 49.92 g with allowance) |
| Orchard Pear | 50 g | ₹240.00 | 6 jars (48 g; 49.92 g with allowance) |
| Peach Melon Berry | 50 g | ₹223.02 | 6 jars (48 g; 49.92 g with allowance) |
| Cinnamon Vanilla | 50 g | ₹271.40 | 6 jars (48 g; 49.92 g with allowance) |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | 2 × 1 kg + 500 g | ₹1,274.80 | 2208 g needed; 2296.3 g with allowance |
| Yankee Glass Jar 130 ml, clear cap | 24 × ₹47.20 | ₹1,132.80 | 24 jars, lids included |
| Eco Candle Wicks, Thin C1 | 50 | ₹295.00 | 24 jars plus wick tests |
| Wick stickers | 40 | ₹100.00 | 24 jars plus tests |
| Total | ₹3,891.02 | ₹162.13 per jar, before freight and GST |
The Yankee jar is sold singly, so you buy exactly the number you need — useful for a professional pilot. CSI 464 is ₹507.40 a kilo and ₹260.00 for 500 g, and its 10% ceiling covers an 8% load comfortably. Material cost per jar below covers oil, wax, wick and jar; it excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST.
| Oil | ₹/g at 50 g | Oil per jar | Material cost at 50 g | ₹/g at 1 kg | Material cost at 1 kg |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sage and Cedarwood | ₹7.08 | ₹56.64 | ₹156.42 | ₹6.87 | ₹154.72 |
| Orchard Pear | ₹4.80 | ₹38.40 | ₹138.18 | ₹3.74 | ₹129.68 |
| Peach Melon Berry | ₹4.46 | ₹35.68 | ₹135.46 | ₹4.18 | ₹133.20 |
| Cinnamon Vanilla | ₹5.43 | ₹43.42 | ₹143.20 | ₹4.55 | ₹136.22 |
Sage and Cedarwood is the interesting row. Its 1 kg costs about the same per gram as its 50 g (₹6.87 against ₹7.08), but its 500 g is ₹5.17 a gram — the cheapest way to buy it at volume. Orchard Pear and Peach Melon Berry are value fruits; Cinnamon Vanilla steps down at every size. A professional supplier's price list should let you see each of those patterns before you commit, and a professional buyer should look for them. The 1 kg buying guide covers the kilo decision oil by oil.

Oil and wax prices are CSI live pricing, pulled on 24 September 2026. The Yankee jar price was pulled on 24–25 September 2026, and wick and wick-sticker prices on 25 September 2026. Basket totals and per-jar costs are arithmetic on those prices, shown to two decimals so you can check them. Stock counts (51 oils at 15 g, 81 at 50 g, 73 at 1 kg) are from the same pull.
The Yankee jar's 100 g fill is illustrative; its fill weight is not published. Load ceilings of up to 13% (Luxury Soy Wax Chunks) and up to 10% (CSI 464) are the wax maker's stated maximums, not regulatory limits.
