CSI Collection Buying · Meditation Line
A meditation line is five reasons to buy, not five versions of one wood. Here are five CSI oils cast in five roles — Clear, Breath, Still, Earth, Ember — with understudies, a test that proves they differ, and what the line costs.
5 scents
five roles, five CSI oils · 50 g sample set ₹1,466.71 · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What are the best fragrances for a five-scent meditation candle line? Five that each do a different job. From CSI: Cucumber Green Tea (Clear), Lavender (Breath), Sandalwood (Still), Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) (Earth) and Palo Santo (Ember). They run from light and green to deep and resinous without two of them overlapping.

Why these five and not five favourite woods? Because a line of five woods is one candle in five jars. Roles force contrast; contrast is what makes a customer buy a second scent.

What does it cost to build? 50 g of each is ₹1,466.71; 500 g of each, enough for 41 candles per scent at 8%, is ₹14,286.20. All five are in stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026 and every page states a candle maximum of 10%.

Can I call it a meditation line? You can name it after a practice or a mood. You cannot claim it helps anyone meditate, sleep or feel less anxious. These are fragrance oils, not essential oils.
The short answer
The five roles: Clear (fresh, green), Breath (herbal), Still (soft wood), Earth (damp soil), Ember (resin and smoke).
The five oils: Cucumber Green Tea, Lavender, Sandalwood, Gilli Mitti, Palo Santo — ₹1,466.71 at 50 g each.
The core: launch Breath, Still and Ember first (₹8,142.40 at 500 g); add Clear for summer and Earth for the monsoon.
The cost spread: oil per 8% candle at 500 g runs from ₹39.93 (Clear) to ₹107.52 (Earth); the average is ₹68.57.
The five-scent meditation line, mapped Positions are editorial judgement from each page's stated notes · solid = the line, hollow = understudy ← FRESH, GREEN WARM, RESINOUS → LIGHT DEEP CLEAR Cucumber Green Tea BREATH Lavender STILL Sandalwood EARTH Gilli Mitti EMBER Palo Santo Neroli Sage and Cedarwood Raat Ki Rani Vetiver · 1 kg out Sacred Sandal Ember · 500 g only Midnight Bakhoor Royale A good line spreads out: no two solid markers sit close together, and the light-to-deep path runs Clear → Breath → Still → Ember. Earth sits apart on purpose — the damp-soil, petrichor note — which is why it is the seasonal scent rather than a core one. Understudies sit near the scent they could replace. Stock facts: CSI live store, 24 September 2026.
The five scents of the line plotted on fresh-to-warm and light-to-deep axes, using each product page's stated notes. The five solid markers sit well apart; the hollow markers are understudies placed near the role they could fill. Positions are our judgement, not measurements.
Straight answer
Which five CSI fragrance oils make the best meditation candle collection, and what role does each play?
Build the line on five roles and give each one oil. Clear — Cucumber Green Tea, the fresh green opener (₹39.93 of oil per 150 g candle at 8% at the 500 g price). Breath — Lavender, the herbal middle (₹62.88). Still — Sandalwood, the creamy wood at the centre (₹60.32). Earth — Gilli Mitti, damp soil and patchouli (₹107.52). Ember — Palo Santo, resin with a touch of incense (₹72.22). All five pages state a candle maximum of 10%, which matches Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464's stated ceiling, and all five are in stock at every listed size on 24 September 2026. Sample them at 50 g (₹1,466.71), prove on blind tests that no two read alike, launch Breath, Still and Ember as the core, and bring in Clear for summer and Earth for the monsoon. Name the scents after the roles, never after an effect: these are fragrance oils, not essential oils.
One line: Clear, Breath, Still, Earth, Ember — five roles, five CSI oils, light to deep, with nothing promised but the scent.
Start with the centre of the line. Sandalwood 50 g is ₹271.40 (₹5.43 per gram) — four 150 g candles at 8%, and the oil every other role is judged against.
Buy Sandalwood 50 g — ₹271.40

Five roles, not five favourites

A common trap in a meditation line is five woods in five jars. It sells one candle, five times.

The meditation palette as a whole — which families belong, why sandalwood and palo santo, how to talk about it — is the job of the cluster hub, Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candles. This guide takes that palette as given and answers a narrower question: if you can launch five scents, which five, and what does each one have to do?

A line works when each scent gives the customer a reason to own it alongside the others. That means the five must differ on at least one of two axes: fresh-to-warm (green and herbal at one end, resin and amber at the other) and light-to-deep (airy at one end, heavy and earthy at the other). Assign five roles that cover those axes, then cast one oil in each.

The five roles
What each role has to do, and what disqualifies an oil from it
Role Job in the line Must have Disqualified if CSI oil
Clear The morning or first-light scent; the entry point for customers who dislike woods Green, fresh, low sweetness Sharp or medicinal Cucumber Green Tea
Breath The familiar one; a likely first purchase Herbal, soft finish Soapy or perfumed Lavender
Still The centre; the scent the others are measured against Creamy wood, no bright top Smoky or spiced Sandalwood
Earth The earthy, rain-on-soil scent; the line’s signature Damp, earthy, clearly different Just another wood Gilli Mitti (Patchouli)
Ember The evening, incense-adjacent scent Resin, warmth, a thread of smoke Heavy oud or leather Palo Santo

The disqualifiers matter as much as the must-haves. A smoky sandalwood cannot be Still, because then it competes with Ember. A heavy oud cannot be Ember in a meditation line, because it pulls the whole collection towards "evening luxury" — a different brief, covered in the masculine and Indian-luxury clusters.

Mistake: casting Sandalwood, Palo Santo, Vetiver, Sacred Sandal Ember and a bakhoor as the five. Fix: that is one role (wood-and-smoke) five times, and customers will buy one. Keep two woods at most, and make at least one scent clearly fresh.

The line, scent by scent

Each pick below is ranked by its place on the light-to-deep path rather than by preference. Ranking basis: stated notes, stated candle load, stock at every size on 24 September 2026, and per-gram price; we have no throw data and do not invent any. Candle counts assume 150 g at 8% (12 g of oil).

1
CLEAR · fresh green · first light
Cucumber Green Tea
The lightest scent in the line and the one that makes it feel like morning practice rather than a temple. Stated notes: "Top Notes: Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves | Heart Notes: Delicate jasmine, hints of lemon | Base Notes: Clean musk, light woods". The page says "we recommend using 8-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax"; we apply it as a percentage of total weight. It is also the cheapest oil in the line (₹39.93 per 8% candle at 500 g). Limitation: it is the role most likely to be read as "spa" rather than meditation; its name and vessel have to do some of the work.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹176.41 ₹3.53 4
100 gm ₹352.82 ₹3.53 8
500 gm ₹1,663.80 ₹3.33 41
1 kg ₹3,327.60 ₹3.33 83
₹42.34 per 8% candle at 50 g; ₹39.93 at 500 g. Buy Cucumber Green Tea
2
BREATH · herbal · the familiar one
Lavender Fragrance Oil
In our judgement, the scent many customers expect and a likely first sale. Stated notes: "fresh lavender top notes, herbal green mid notes, and soft musk base"; stated load: "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles"; the page calls it "a strong, IFRA-certified lavender fragrance oil" (the page's wording). In the line it is the bridge between the green Clear and the woody Still. Limitation: lavender is widely available, so yours will not differentiate the line; the Earth scent will.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹105.02 ₹7.00 1
50 gm ₹270.00 ₹5.40 4
100 gm ₹540.00 ₹5.40 8

₹64.80 per 8% candle at 50 g; ₹62.88 at 500 g. Buy Lavender
3
STILL · creamy wood · the centre
Sandalwood Fragrance Oil
The centre of the line. The page describes "warm, creamy, luxurious single-note sandalwood fragrance oil with a smooth woody aroma and subtle earthy undertone" and states "Recommended load up to 10% for soy, up to 6% for paraffin". Being a single note is exactly what the Still role needs: no bright top to compete with Clear, no smoke to compete with Ember. Limitation: alone it can read plain; that is acceptable here because the other four supply the contrast.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹271.40 ₹5.43 4
100 gm ₹502.68 ₹5.03 8
500 gm ₹2,513.40 ₹5.03 41
1 kg ₹5,026.80 ₹5.03 83
Flat ₹5.03/g from 100 g: ₹60.32 per 8% candle. Buy Sandalwood
4
EARTH · petrichor · the signature
Gilli Mitti (Patchouli)
The scent that makes the line distinct. The page describes "fresh rain, soft soil, natural patchouli, damp woods, and light musk. Evokes petrichor - the scent of rain on dry earth", states "The recommended fragrance load is 6-10% for candles" and calls it "a rich, earthy IFRA-certified fragrance oil" (the page's wording). Rain on dry soil is, in our judgement, a scent Indian customers readily recognise, and it is rarely the centre of a meditation line. Limitation: it is the dearest oil in the line at ₹8.96 per gram at every size from 50 g, so it costs ₹67.59 more per 8% candle than Clear; see the cost section for how to handle that.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹140.00 ₹9.33 1
50 gm ₹448.00 ₹8.96 4
100 gm ₹896.00 ₹8.96 8
500 gm ₹4,480.00 ₹8.96 41
1 kg ₹8,960.00 ₹8.96 83
Flat ₹8.96/g from 50 g to 1 kg: bigger saves nothing. Buy Gilli Mitti
5
EMBER · resin and incense · evening
Palo Santo Fragrance Oil
The deepest scent in the core, and the one closest to what many people associate with a meditation room. The page describes "Earthy palo santo with soft citrus, warm amber, and a touch of incense" and states "Recommended Fragrance Load: Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". "A touch" is the key phrase: it gives the line smoke without turning it into a bakhoor. Limitation: its soft citrus top means it opens brighter than you might expect; judge it at the two-hour mark, not in the first ten minutes.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹106.20 ₹7.08 1
50 gm ₹300.90 ₹6.02 4
100 gm ₹601.80 ₹6.02 8
500 gm ₹3,009.00 ₹6.02 41
1 kg ₹6,018.00 ₹6.02 83
Flat ₹6.02/g from 50 g: ₹72.22 per 8% candle at any size. Buy Palo Santo

Sampled at 50 g, the five come to ₹1,466.71 for 250 g of oil (₹5.87 per gram on average) — enough for each at 6%, 8% and 10% plus one spare candle. The 15 g sizes exist, but they are the dearest per gram (Gilli Mitti's 15 g is 4.2% dearer than its 50 g; Palo Santo's 18%) and a 15 g bottle makes a single 8% candle.

Understudies: what to swap in, and what is out of stock

Every role needs an understudy. Some of the obvious ones are not available.

If a pick fails your blind test, or a customer segment asks for something different, each role has a next-best oil. The table states stock on 24 September 2026 and whether the page gives a candle load; understudies without a stated load need testing from 6% inside the wax ceiling.

Understudies by role · stock on 24 September 2026
Next-best oil for each role, and what stands in the way
Role Understudy Stated notes (short) Candle load on page Stock / price fact
Clear Neroli orange blossom, honey, soft green Up to 10% soy In stock; ₹6.84/g at 50 g
Breath Sage and Cedarwood herbaceous sage, cedar Up to 10% soy No 15 g; 500 g (₹5.17/g) cheaper per gram than 1 kg (₹6.87/g)
Still Santal Noir creamy sandalwood, light cedar, amber Not stated In stock; ₹9.98/g at 50 g
Earth Vetiver smoky, woody, grounding Up to 10% soy 1 kg out of stock; 500 g in stock (two = ₹5,800.00)
Ember Sacred Sandal Ember incense smoke, sandalwood, resins Not stated Only 500 g in stock (₹3,999.00); 100 g and 1 kg out of stock
Ember (darker) Midnight Bakhoor Royale spiced incense, oud, smoky resin Not stated In stock from 100 g (₹799.00)
Night floral (sixth scent) Raat Ki Rani night-blooming jasmine, soft amber 6–10% for candles In stock; ₹7.40/g at 50 g

Frankincense and Tonka would be a natural Ember understudy but is out of stock at its only listed size on 24 September 2026; ask on WhatsApp about restocks of that, Vetiver 1 kg and Sacred Sandal Ember 100 g. How the lavender, sandalwood and floral options compare across CSI's price tiers is covered in detail in Lavender, Sandalwood and Floral Fragrance Oils for Relaxing Candles.

Why Gilli Mitti and not Vetiver for Earth: Vetiver's page says "smoky", which moves it towards Ember's territory, and its 1 kg is out of stock. Gilli Mitti is damp rather than smoky, which keeps Earth distinct. The honest cost: Gilli Mitti is 27% dearer per gram than Vetiver at 50 g. If budget decides it, Vetiver is a sound understudy — test it against Palo Santo to make sure the two do not blur.

Proving the five are distinct

The map above is a hypothesis. This test turns it into evidence: if a stranger cannot tell two of your scents apart, the customer will not buy both. You need the load-test candles you would pour anyway, plus a second person.

1
Pour the fifteen load candlesEach oil at 6%, 8% and 10% of total weight in the same 150 g jar: 9 g, 12 g or 15 g of oil with 141 g, 138 g or 135 g of CSI 464 (melt and pour 80–90°C per the wax page). Same wick throughout; start with Eco Candle Wicks Thin (C1).
2
Cure them togetherNone of these five pages states a cure time. At least 48–72 hours, longer for soy, is common practice — we compare at day 3 and day 7, same age against same age.
3
Pick one load per oilBurn each oil's three candles on separate evenings and keep the lowest load you still notice from the doorway at two hours. You now have five candidates.
4
Run neighbour pairs blindBurn neighbours on the light-to-deep path in two rooms: Clear vs Breath, Breath vs Still, Still vs Ember, Still vs Earth. Your helper walks between rooms and says whether they smell "the same kind of thing". Two "same" answers for one pair means one oil must be replaced by its understudy.
5
Run the odd-one-out testThree candles, two of one scent and one of another, labels hidden. If your helper cannot pick the odd one out between Still and Ember or Still and Earth, those roles are too close.
6
Fix the line specRecord oil, load, wick and jar for each role on one sheet. That sheet is the line; do not change one scent later without re-running its neighbour pair.
Test basket
Five oils at 50 g plus 3 kg of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, 20 Clear Glass Jars with Golden Lid (150 gram), 20 C1 wicks and a sheet of wick stickers: ₹5,094.91 for fifteen load candles and five spares. The wick is a starting point, not a prescription — run a melt-pool test, and see Relaxing Fragrance Oils for Soy Candles for how quieter scents behave in soy.

Naming the line without a single claim

Role names do double duty: they tell the customer how the five relate, and they keep you away from claims. "Clear", "Breath", "Still", "Earth" and "Ember" describe a quality of the scent or a moment; none says what the candle will do to the person. Use them, or your own equivalents, and write each scent's card from the product page's stated notes. The copywriting detail for "calming" language is in Calming Fragrance Oils for Candle Making.

Scent cards · a worked example
Name, notes line and moment for each role — no effect words
Role name Notes line (from the oil page) Moment line
Clear Cucumber, green tea leaves, a little jasmine and lemon, clean musk For first light and an open window
Breath Lavender, green herbs, soft musk For the pause between tasks
Still Creamy sandalwood with an earthy undertone For sitting quietly
Earth Rain on dry soil, patchouli, damp woods For the first monsoon evening
Ember Palo santo, soft citrus, warm amber, a touch of incense For the end of the day
Mistake: writing "a grounding blend to centre the mind" on the Earth card. Fix: Vetiver's page does use the word "grounding" to describe its scent, and "earthy" or "grounding" as scent descriptions are fine. "To centre the mind" is an effect. Keep adjectives on the scent and verbs off the customer. And say "fragrance oil" on the label — never "essential oil" or "aromatherapy".
Vessel coding
A five-scent line reads as a set when the vessels match and only the label changes. If you want a darker, quieter look than clear glass, the Black Matte Glass Jar is ₹708.00 for 10 (₹70.80 each); its fill capacity is not in our data, so weigh a filled jar before you set loads.

What the line costs, and one price or two

Worked example: 150 g candle at 8% in CSI 464 (₹70.02 of wax), the clear 150 g jar (₹94.40) and a C1 wick (₹5.90) — ₹170.32 of non-oil materials per candle. Oil at the 500 g price. All figures exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST.

Per-candle materials by role · worked example
The Earth scent is the outlier
Role Oil Oil at 50 g price Oil at 500 g price Materials per candle (500 g oil)
Clear Cucumber Green Tea ₹42.34 ₹39.93 ₹210.25
Breath Lavender ₹64.80 ₹62.88 ₹233.20
Still Sandalwood ₹65.14 ₹60.32 ₹230.64
Earth Gilli Mitti ₹107.52 ₹107.52 ₹277.84
Ember Palo Santo ₹72.22 ₹72.22 ₹242.54

One price or two?

Four of the five sit within ₹32.28 of each other in oil cost at 500 g; Gilli Mitti is ₹67.59 above Clear. You have three honest options. Price the whole line at one figure that carries Earth's cost (simplest for the customer). Price Earth as the "signature" at a higher figure (honest, and it tells the customer it is special). Or, if your burn tests show Gilli Mitti performs at 6%, use 9 g instead of 12 g: ₹80.64 of oil per candle, saving ₹26.88 — but only if the 6% candle genuinely passes the doorway test. Never lower a load to hit a price if the scent stops working.

Argued against our own interest: we sell all five at 1 kg. All five are already at or near their lowest per-gram price at 500 g or below (Lavender's 1 kg is ₹5.22 a gram against ₹5.24 at 500 g), and Gilli Mitti and Palo Santo are flat from 50 g. For a new line, 500 g of the core three (₹8,142.40) is the sensible launch buy; the 1 kg adds nothing but exposure.

Staged buying: 50 g of all five to test (₹1,466.71); 500 g of the core three to launch (₹8,142.40); 500 g of Clear and Earth as their seasons approach (₹6,143.80). The full five at 500 g is ₹14,286.20, or 205 candles at 8%. The wholesale ladder and reorder points for these oils are in Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candle Brands; production-scale batch maths in Bulk Wellness Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers.

Launch order across the Indian year

Five scents do not need to launch on one day. The roles map naturally onto the Indian calendar — these are calendar facts and our judgement about fit, not demand forecasts.

Role by season · calendar facts, not forecasts
When each role earns its shelf space
Period Dates Lead role Why, in our judgement
Festive and gifting Diwali 8 November 2026 Still, Ember Warm, familiar woods and resin suit gifting
Winter roughly December–February Ember, Breath Closed rooms and early evenings suit deeper scents
Indian summer roughly April–June Clear Heat favours light, green scents
Southwest monsoon roughly June–September Earth Petrichor is the season’s own scent
Year-round — Breath, Still The two most familiar scent families; sensible to hold all year

For a brand launching before Diwali, that means the core three now and Earth held back for the monsoon, when its story tells itself. How a whole candle brand rotates stock across the seasons is in Which Fragrance Oils Should a Candle Brand Stock for Summer, Monsoon and Winter?; the buying basket for a first meditation order is in Buy Meditation Candle Fragrance Oils in India; for a yoga-studio version of this line, with shorter burns and smaller rooms, see Fragrance Oils for Yoga-Inspired Candles.

Launching the core three before Diwali, 8 November 2026? Sample the five at 50 g this week (₹1,466.71), run the neighbour tests by mid-October, then take 500 g each of Lavender, Sandalwood and Palo Santo (₹8,142.40, 123 candles at 8%). The CSI principle
Cast roles, then oils — and prove the roles are different.
A meditation line is five reasons to buy, not five versions of one. Give each scent a job, test neighbours blind, and let the one that sets you apart — here, Earth — carry the story.
"Clear, Breath, Still, Earth, Ember. If a customer can name the five with their eyes closed, you have a line."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells all five oils and every understudy named here, and does not sell finished candles. We have told you where our dearest oil in the line costs more than it saves, where bigger bottles save nothing, and which obvious meditation oils are out of stock.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. All five line oils were in stock at every listed size that day; out-of-stock understudy sizes are flagged and never presented as buyable. Notes, candle loads and IFRA wording are quoted from each product page, and where a page states no candle load we say so.

The five roles, the map positions, the understudy choices, the seasonal order and the scent-card copy are our editorial judgement; CSI has no throw or sales data for these oils and makes no claim about any effect of scent on the body. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

What scents should be in a meditation candle collection?
Five that cover different roles: something fresh and green, a herbal scent, a soft wood, an earthy scent and a resin. From CSI: Cucumber Green Tea, Lavender, Sandalwood, Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) and Palo Santo.
Is palo santo fragrance oil good for meditation candles?
It fits the evening, incense-adjacent role in a meditation line: the page describes "earthy palo santo with soft citrus, warm amber, and a touch of incense" and states up to 10% in soy. It is ₹6.02 per gram at every size from 50 g. It is a fragrance oil, not palo santo wood or essential oil.
How many fragrances should a meditation candle line have?
Five is enough to feel complete if each has a different role. Launch three core scents first and add the others by season; a sixth scent (a night floral such as Raat Ki Rani) can come later.
What does gilli mitti fragrance oil smell like in a candle?
The page describes fresh rain, soft soil, natural patchouli, damp woods and light musk — the petrichor scent of rain on dry earth. It states a 6–10% candle load. Test it at 6% and 8% first; it is the dearest oil in this line per gram.
Can I use vetiver instead of patchouli in a meditation candle?
Yes, as an understudy for the Earth role. Vetiver is smokier, so check it against your resin scent to make sure they do not blur. Its 1 kg is out of stock on 24 September 2026; two 500 g packs cost ₹5,800.00.
Can meditation candles be sold as aromatherapy in India?
Not honestly if they use fragrance oils. Fragrance oils are not essential oils, and "aromatherapy" implies an effect. Name scents after roles or moments and describe their notes.

Editorial standards & sources
About this guide: part of CSI's meditation and calm cluster. It proposes a five-scent meditation candle line built from CSI fragrance oils, with a role for each scent, understudies, a distinctness test, naming, costs and launch order. "Meditation" describes a setting and a style of scent; nothing here claims an effect on the body or mind, and fragrance oils are not essential oils.

Customer reviews: The six reviews at the top of this page are genuine, published Judge.me reviews left by CSI customers on the product pages named on each card — Gilli Mitti (Patchouli), Lavender Fragrance Oil, Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 ( Flakes Form) For Container Candles, Sacred Sandal Ember Fragrance Oil, Sandalwood Fragrance Oil, Woody Oud Fragrance Oil. Non-price figures: candle maths assume a 150 g candle with load as a percentage of total weight (8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts are floor(grams ÷ 12). Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 is stated up to 10% with melt and pour at 80–90°C; ceilings are formulation limits, not regulatory limits. Candle loads, notes and IFRA wording are quoted from each product page; none of the five line pages states a cure time. Per-candle costs are worked examples and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Diwali (8 November 2026) is a calendar date; seasons are approximate. Roles, map positions and seasonal fit are editorial judgement.
