Studio candles face small rooms, deep breathing at close range and 75-minute burns. Here are five fresh-to-earthy CSI oils that suit them, the vessels that fit a class, and what a monthly studio order costs.
₹94.50
materials for one 85 g studio tin at 6%, Eucalyptus Spearmint · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What makes a candle suit a yoga studio? Three things a home candle does not face: a small, warm room full of people breathing deeply at close range; burns that start and stop with a 60- to 75-minute class; and a floor covered in mats and props. That argues for a soft throw (test from 6%), small vessels that reach a full melt pool quickly, and placement away from the practice floor.

Which CSI oils fit? Fresh and green for morning classes — Eucalyptus Spearmint, Lemongrass and Lime, Verbena, Neroli — and earthy for evening, Gilli Mitti (Patchouli). All five at 50 g cost ₹1,663.00.

Which vessel? For per-class burns, a 70 g votive or an 85 g tin, not a wide 150 g jar. A golden 85 g tin costs ₹30.00 each in a pack of 12.

What can I say to a studio? Describe the scent and the moment ("a green, eucalyptus-mint candle for early classes"). Do not promise effects on breathing, focus, stress or recovery. These are fragrance oils, not essential oils.
The short answer
The room: small and close, so test 6% first and move up only if the candle is faint from the reception desk.
The burn: classes are short; big jars burned for one class tend to tunnel. Use 70–85 g vessels per class, or one reception jar burned for long sessions.
The oils: Eucalyptus Spearmint (the least expensive of the five), Lemongrass and Lime, Verbena, Neroli, Gilli Mitti. Every page states a candle load.
The business: an 85 g tin at 6% in Eucalyptus Spearmint costs ₹94.50 in materials. A 24-tin studio order is ₹2,855.80 in cash.
Burn time vs class length: a studio day Illustrative schedule. Short burns suit small candles; large jars need long sessions to reach a full melt pool. 06:00 09:00 12:00 15:00 18:00 21:00 Classes (75 min) Reception jar, 150 g 3 h 15 min 3 h Class votive, 70 g 150 g jar, one class only tunnelling risk lit 15 min before class, out at the end: 90 min, a small pool fills quickly two long sessions a day at reception, never unattended a wide jar burned 60–75 min at a time rarely reaches the glass class long burn, large jar short burn, small vessel mismatch: big jar, short burn Class times and burn sessions are a worked example, not a measured burn rate. Measure your own candle's grams burned per hour.
The mismatch at the bottom is the common mistake: a wide jar candle lit for a single class, then blown out. Small vessels suit class-length burns; a large jar belongs at reception, burned in long sessions under supervision. Class times here are illustrative.
Straight answer
I want to make yoga-inspired candles and sell them to studios. Which fragrance oils work in a small studio, and what format should I use?
Choose clean, green and earthy oils whose pages state a candle load, and pour them softer than a living-room candle. At CSI: Eucalyptus Spearmint (₹212.40 for 50 g) and Lemongrass and Lime (₹330.00) for bright morning classes, Verbena (₹330.40) and Neroli (₹342.20) for a lighter herbal-citrus or floral note, and Gilli Mitti (₹448.00) for an earthy evening candle: ₹1,663.00 for the five. Test at 6%, 8% and 10%, expecting 6% to win in small rooms. For candles burned once per class, use a small vessel — a White Matte Votive Jar 70 gram (₹31.86 each) or a Golden Aluminium Tin, 85 g fill weight (₹30.00 each) — so the melt pool can reach the edge within a class. Keep larger jars for reception, burned in long sessions, and keep every candle off the practice floor. Sell the studio a scent and a ritual, never a physical or mental benefit.
One line: a studio candle is small, soft and supervised; the scent sets the mood, and the vessel has to fit the class.
The studio staple, at the lowest oil cost per candle of the five picks. Eucalyptus Spearmint 50 g is ₹212.40; from 100 g it is ₹3.54 per gram and the 1 kg is ₹3.07. Its page states "up to 10% for soy wax".

What a studio candle has to cope with

A living-room candle has to reach the sofa. A studio candle has to sit politely beside twenty people breathing deeply.

"Yoga-inspired" is a style, not a claim: clean, green, lightly earthy scents, simple vessels, a sense of ritual. The meditation palette of woods and resins is covered in the hub, Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candles; this page is about the studio as a place to sell into, and the studio changes the brief in four ways.

1 · Small rooms and close noses

Studio rooms can be small, and sometimes warm: converted apartments, rooftops, shop floors. People in class breathe deeply and slowly, near the floor. A candle that is pleasant in a large living room can be too much here. Our judgement: test every oil at 6% first, and treat 8% as the upper end for a room with the windows shut. If 6% is faint from the reception desk, move up; if it is noticeable from the mat, you are there.

2 · Short, fixed burns

Classes typically run 60 to 75 minutes, and candles tend to be lit just before and put out just after. That is a problem for wide candles, which need longer burns to melt to the edge. We come back to this below; it decides the vessel.

3 · Mats, props and movement

A practice floor has fabric, mats, bolsters and people moving their arms. Advise studios to keep candles at reception, on a shelf or on a heat-resistant surface out of reach, never on the practice floor, never unattended, and away from curtains and draughts from fans or AC. This is generic candle safety, and it belongs on your label and in your pitch.

4 · Claims pressure

The yoga market is full of words like "detox", "breathe better", "open your chakras", "recovery". None can be supported for a scented candle. Say what the candle smells like and when it is lit ("eucalyptus and spearmint for 6:30 am", "rain-on-earth for the last class of the day"). The oils here are fragrance oils, not essential oils, so no "aromatherapy" and no "pure essential oil" on the label. How to write calm copy without claims is set out in detail in Calming Fragrance Oils for Candle Making.

Mistake: selling a studio a "breathe" candle with eucalyptus and a promise about airways. Fix: sell the same candle as "Early Class: crisp eucalyptus and cool spearmint". The scent is identical, the name still evokes the moment, and you have promised nothing a candle cannot do.

Burn time vs class length

Match the candle to the class, not the class to the candle.

A container candle tends to melt outward from the wick. If it is put out before the melt pool reaches the edge, the next burn often follows the same narrow channel, and over several short burns the candle tunnels, wasting wax and scent. Wide candles need longer burns; small ones reach the edge sooner. The studio's class length is fixed, so the vessel has to fit it. That is judgement from common practice, not a measurement, and your own test decides.

Use a small vessel for per-class burns. A 70 g votive or an 85 g tin, lit fifteen minutes before class and put out at the end, gives it about ninety minutes. In our experience that is a realistic window for a small vessel to reach a full or near-full pool with the right wick. Use a large jar only at reception, lit when the studio opens and burned through a two- to three-hour block while someone is at the desk. The Big Tealights Empty cups (listed as "~ 9 hours burn", ₹11.80 each) are another option for a shelf in the changing area; their burn time is the listing's wording, not our measurement.

Measure your own burn rate

CSI does not publish burn rates, and they depend on wax, wick, oil load and vessel. Measure them. Weigh a cured candle, burn it for exactly one hour, let it cool, and weigh it again; the difference is grams per hour. Divide the wax in the vessel by that figure for a rough total burn time, and compare it with the number of classes the studio wants the candle to last. A weighing scale (₹354.00) reading to 1 g is all you need.

Give the studio a burn card
A small card with each order: "Light 15 minutes before class. Let the wax melt to the edge before putting it out. Trim the wick before relighting. Never leave burning unattended or on the practice floor." It protects the candle's performance and the studio's floor, and it sets you apart from a supplier who just drops off a box.

Vessels for small rooms, costed

Four CSI vessels with a stated fill weight, and what each costs to fill at 6% with Eucalyptus Spearmint at the 100 g price (₹3.54 per gram) and CSI 464 soy wax at ₹0.51 per gram. Oil and wax weights follow the usual rule: load as a share of total weight.

Studio formats at 6% · worked examples, CSI live pricing 24 September 2026
Smaller vessels suit class-length burns and cost less per piece
Vessel Pack price Each Oil at 6% / 8% Materials per candle at 6% Best use
White Matte Votive Jar 70 gram 10 for ₹318.60 ₹31.86 4.2 g / 5.6 g ₹86.01 One per class, on a shelf
Golden Aluminium Tin (85g fill weight) 12 for ₹360.00 ₹30.00 5.1 g / 6.8 g ₹94.50 Per class; retail shelf
Tin Container, 135 gram 12 for ₹1,161.12 ₹96.76 8.1 g / 10.8 g ₹195.72 Retail gift size
Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) 10 for ₹944.00 ₹94.40 9 g / 12 g ₹203.70 Reception, long burns

Materials include oil, wax, vessel and one C1 wick (₹5.90); they exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. The 85 g golden tin is the stand-out for studio supply: the vessel is ₹30.00, and the whole candle comes to ₹94.50 at 6%. The 85 g Tin Container with the mandala design is ₹70.80 each if the studio wants something more decorative (one reviewer above likes the design but found some tins dented; check on arrival). The Clear Glass Votive Jar 70 gram is the same price as the white matte one. Browse every vessel in the glass jars collection.

Argued against our own interest: for studio candles, the 150 g jar our cost examples use is usually the wrong product. It costs ₹94.40 for the vessel alone, and burned for one class at a time it tends to tunnel. Sell the studio small tins or votives for classes and one jar for reception.

Five oils for yoga-inspired candles

Four for the morning, one for the evening. All with a stated candle load.

Chosen for clean, green, citrus-herbal and earthy characters that suit a studio, and for a candle load stated on each page. We have no throw data; ranking is on stated notes, stated load, price per gram and stock. Candle counts in the tables are the series standard (150 g at 8%); a 50 g bottle at 6% fills eleven 70 g votives or nine 85 g tins.

1
fresh herbal · morning · lowest cost
Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil
The obvious studio scent and, usefully, the least expensive of the five picks at every size. The page describes "crisp eucalyptus with cool spearmint", states "Recommended fragrance load up to 10% for soy wax, up to 6% for paraffin", and calls it "A refreshing, IFRA-certified eucalyptus spearmint fragrance oil" (the page's wording; ask for documents on WhatsApp). The 1 kg is 28% cheaper per gram than the 50 g, a real bulk saving. Limitation: eucalyptus-mint is sharp; in our judgement it is the pick most likely to be too much at 8% in a small room.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹68.44 ₹4.56 1
50 gm ₹212.40 ₹4.25 4
100 gm ₹354.00 ₹3.54 8

1 kg ₹3,068.00 ₹3.07 83
85 g tin at 6%: ₹94.50 in materials. From 6% to 8% adds ₹6.02 of oil per tin. Buy Eucalyptus Spearmint
2
citrus herbal · morning · the brightest
Lemongrass and Lime
Zest with a soft floor: "zesty lime and fresh lemongrass top notes, light ginger and herbal middle notes, and subtle cedarwood and soft musk base", at a stated "6-10% for candles"; the page calls it "A bright, IFRA-certified lime and lemongrass fragrance oil". The cedar and musk base is what keeps it from reading as a kitchen cleaner, and makes it the better choice than a plain lemon for a studio. At 500 g and 1 kg it is 21% cheaper per gram than the 50 g, and the two sizes cost the same per gram. Limitation: dearer than Eucalyptus Spearmint at every size.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹116.52 ₹7.77 1
50 gm ₹330.00 ₹6.60 4
100 gm ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8

1000 gm ₹5,200.00 ₹5.20 83
85 g tin at 6%: ₹106.53 in materials at the 100 g price. Buy Lemongrass and Lime
3
lemony herbal · the soft morning option
Verbena Fragrance Oil
A gentler citrus-herbal than Lemongrass and Lime: "Crisp lemony verbena with herbal undertones", stated at "Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". Where eucalyptus announces itself, verbena is the one to offer a studio that wants "fresh but not minty". Its per-gram price falls steadily with size; the 1 kg is 29% cheaper per gram than the 50 g. Limitation: a two-note description, so its base is not stated; judge it late in the burn.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹106.20 ₹7.08 1
50 gm ₹330.40 ₹6.61 4
100 gm ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8
500 gm ₹2,478.00 ₹4.96 41
1 kg ₹4,720.00 ₹4.72 83
50 g at ₹6.61 per gram; 1 kg at ₹4.72. Buy Verbena
4
citrus floral · the lightest floral
Neroli Fragrance Oil
For a studio that wants a floral without heaviness: "Bright neroli with hints of orange blossom, honey, and soft green undertones", stated at "Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". It suits a slower class or a morning with a gentler feel. Its pricing is nearly flat above 50 g (₹6.66 per gram from 100 g; the 1 kg is only 2.8% cheaper per gram than the 50 g), so there is little reason to buy big early. Limitation: the dearest of the four morning oils, and honey notes can drift sweet at higher loads.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹118.00 ₹7.87 1
50 gm ₹342.20 ₹6.84 4
100 gm ₹665.52 ₹6.66 8
500 gm ₹3,327.60 ₹6.66 41
1 kg ₹6,655.20 ₹6.66 83
70 g votive at 6%: ₹99.89 in materials at the 50 g price. Buy Neroli
5
earthy petrichor · the evening class
Gilli Mitti (Patchouli)
The grounded, rain-on-earth candle for the last class of the day: "fresh rain, soft soil, natural patchouli, damp woods, and light musk. Evokes petrichor - the scent of rain on dry earth." The page states "The recommended fragrance load is 6-10% for candles" and describes it as "A rich, earthy IFRA-certified fragrance oil". A customer review above calls the scent "amazing and authentic". It is priced flat at ₹8.96 per gram from 50 g to 1 kg. Limitation: the dearest of the five picks per gram, so pour it lean: at 6% in an 85 g tin the oil is still the biggest line.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹140.00 ₹9.33 1
50 gm ₹448.00 ₹8.96 4
100 gm ₹896.00 ₹8.96 8
500 gm ₹4,480.00 ₹8.96 41
1 kg ₹8,960.00 ₹8.96 83
85 g tin at 6%: ₹122.14. From 6% to 8% adds ₹15.23 per tin. Buy Gilli Mitti
Only two for a first studio? Eucalyptus Spearmint and Gilli Mitti, ₹660.40 at 50 g: a bright morning candle and an earthy evening one. If the studio prefers resin and wood for its evening classes, Palo Santo and Sandalwood are the meditation-hub picks; the full basket and sample route are in Buy Meditation Candle Fragrance Oils in India.
Two oils we would not take to a studio
Citronella is an outdoor scent, and we make no claim about what it does. Citrus Lemon ("zesty lemon and lime top notes, bright grapefruit and orange heart") is cheerful but, in our judgement, too sharp and too kitchen-like for a quiet room; Lemongrass and Lime does the bright job with a softer base.

Selling to studios: a B2B playbook

A studio does not buy a candle. It buys a routine it can repeat every morning.

In our judgement, studios can be a good B2B customer for a small candle maker: they can reorder, sell a few pieces at the desk, and value consistency over novelty. They also tend to have little time and no patience for a candle that tunnels or soots in front of a class. A simple sequence that respects both:

1
Test your oils in a room the size of theirsPour the five oils at 6%, 8% and 10% in the vessel you will sell (tins or votives), cure at least a week, and burn for ninety minutes in a small closed room. Keep only the loads that are present at the door and quiet at the mat.
2
Build a five-candle pitch kitOne 70 g votive per oil at the winning load, poured from your test bottles. The extras — 5 white matte votives (₹159.30), 500 g of CSI 464 (₹260.00) and 10 C1 wicks (₹59.00) — cost ₹478.30.
3
Let the studio choose twoA morning scent and an evening scent. Two scents are easier to keep consistent, and easier for a studio to associate with its own classes.
4
Agree the format and a monthly countPer-class tins or votives for the practice room; one reception jar; optionally 85 g or 135 g tins for the retail shelf. Base the count on classes per week and your measured burn rate.
5
Label for the studio, carefullyA studio's own name on a co-branded label is fine with its written permission. Do not use yoga-brand trademarks, teacher names without consent, or claims. Include "scented with fragrance oil", the burn card and your batch number.
6
Keep documents readyStudios and wellness businesses may ask for safety paperwork. CSI shares MSDS and IFRA documentation on request on WhatsApp; keep a copy for each oil you supply.
7
Reorder before they run outOnce you know the monthly count, buy oil at the size that covers two or three months, not a year. For Eucalyptus Spearmint that is often 500 g (₹1,652.00); for Gilli Mitti, whose price per gram is flat, buy only what you need.

Wholesale ladders and reorder cadence for a brand with several stockists are in Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candle Brands; bulk batch maths and corporate wellness gifting are in Bulk Wellness Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers; building a morning/evening/focus wellness collection is in Fragrance Oils for Wellness Candle Collections.

Costing a studio order

Worked example: a studio takes 24 golden 85 g tins a month, 12 in Eucalyptus Spearmint for morning classes and 12 in Lemongrass and Lime for midday, poured at 6%. Each tin takes 5.1 g of oil and 79.9 g of wax, so each scent needs 61.2 g (one 100 g bottle) and the order needs about 1.92 kg of wax.

A 24-tin studio order · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Cash outlay ₹2,855.80; per-tin materials ₹94.50 to ₹106.53

Cash outlay 24 tins ₹2,855.80 ₹118.99 per tin, including carry-over stock

On the oil and wax actually used, a Eucalyptus Spearmint tin costs ₹94.50 and a Lemongrass and Lime tin ₹106.53; a Gilli Mitti tin would be ₹122.14. All exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Your price to the studio has to cover those and your time; we do not set it for you, but the per-tin figure gives you the floor.

Mistake: buying 1 kg of a studio scent after the first order. Fix: a 24-tin month at 6% uses about 61 g of each oil. A 500 g bottle is eight months of one scent at that rate, which is plenty; a kilogram is well over a year. We sell the 1 kg; for one studio, you rarely need it.
International Day of Yoga, 21 June 2027: a date to plan around if you supply studios, and New Year comes first. Test now, then stock at 500 g: Eucalyptus Spearmint 500 g is ₹1,652.00. WhatsApp us for a studio-supply quote with GST invoice and a dispatch date.

The CSI principle
Fit the vessel to the class and the load to the room.
A studio candle succeeds when it melts evenly in ninety minutes and is noticed at the door but not on the mat. Small tins, soft loads, honest labels.
"The best studio candle is the one nobody mentions during class and everybody notices on the way in."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the oils, soy wax, tins, votives and wicks in this guide and does not sell finished candles. We have steered you away from our 150 g jar for per-class use, away from 1 kg bottles for a single studio, and away from two oils we sell that do not suit a small room.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026; all five oils are in stock at every size on that date. Oil notes, candle loads and IFRA wording are quoted from each product page; fill weights come from the vessel listing titles.

Class lengths, the studio timeline, vessel suitability, the 6% starting load and the B2B sequence are our judgement; CSI publishes no burn rates or throw measurements, and makes no claim that any scent affects breathing, health, mood or performance. Frequently asked questions

What scent candles are used in yoga studios?
In our judgement, clean, green and earthy scents suit a studio: eucalyptus and mint, lemongrass, verbena, light florals such as neroli, and earthy or woody notes for evening classes. At CSI: Eucalyptus Spearmint, Lemongrass and Lime, Verbena, Neroli and Gilli Mitti, ₹1,663.00 for all five at 50 g.
Is it safe to burn candles during a yoga class?
Keep candles off the practice floor, on a stable heat-resistant surface out of reach, away from mats, curtains and fans, and never unattended. Reception or a shelf is the better place to light them. Put burn instructions on every candle you supply.
What size candle is best for a one-hour class?
A small vessel such as a 70 g votive or an 85 g tin, lit about 15 minutes before class, so the melt pool has a chance to reach the edge within the session. Wide 150 g jars burned for one class at a time tend to tunnel. Measure your own burn rate by weighing a candle before and after a one-hour burn.
How much fragrance oil for a small studio candle?
Start at 6% of total weight: 4.2 g of oil in a 70 g votive or 5.1 g in an 85 g tin. Test 8% and 10% as well, within the oil's stated maximum and your wax's ceiling (10% for CSI 464), and keep the lowest load that is noticeable at the door.
Can I sell eucalyptus candles as good for breathing?
We would not. That is a health claim a scented candle cannot support, and CSI's Eucalyptus Spearmint is a fragrance oil, not an essential oil. Describe it instead: "crisp eucalyptus and cool spearmint for early classes".
How do I supply candles to a yoga studio in India?
Test in the studio's vessel and room size, offer a five-votive pitch kit, agree two scents and a monthly count, co-brand only with permission, keep MSDS/IFRA documents on file, and reorder at 500 g. A 24-tin month in two scents at 6% costs about ₹2,855.80 in materials.

Non-price figures: load is a percentage of total candle weight (6% of an 85 g tin = 5.1 g oil + 79.9 g wax; series standard 150 g at 8% = 12 g oil + 138 g wax); candle counts in pick tables are floor(grams ÷ 12). Vessel fill weights are as given in listing titles; the tealight burn time is the listing's wording. Wax ceiling: CSI 464 up to 10%, a formulation limit, not a regulatory limit. Per-candle costs and the studio order are worked examples and exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. Class lengths and the studio timeline are illustrative. International Day of Yoga (21 June 2027) is a calendar date.
