Paraffin Candles · Buying Guide
Buying for paraffin is a matching problem. Every oil pack implies a quantity of wax, and the cheapest way to buy both is to size them together. This page matches each pack to the paraffin it needs, then prices three real baskets, from a first test order to a festive restock.
₹220.03
material cost per 200 g paraffin candle in the first-production basket (oil, wax, wick, jar) · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Where can I buy fragrance oils for paraffin candles in India? CSI lists 93 fragrance oils alongside Fully Refined Paraffin Wax Pellets (₹177.00 for 500 g, ₹354.00 for 1 kg). Order on the store, or on WhatsApp for larger paraffin quantities, GST invoicing and documents.

Which size should I buy first? 15 g to test, 100 g to produce, 500 g or 1 kg to restock a proven scent. The 15 g carries a median 23.1% per-gram premium over 100 g across the collection, so do not produce from testers.

How much paraffin do I need per bottle of oil? At an 8% test load, every 16 g of oil needs 184 g of wax, so 100 g of oil needs 1,150 g of paraffin for 6.25 candles of 200 g. See the matching table.

What does a first paraffin order cost? A five-oil test basket with 1 kg of paraffin, five jars and ten wicks costs ₹1,249.96. A three-oil first production of 18 candles costs ₹3,960.60. Both are itemised in the baskets.
The short answer
Stages: Test in 15 g → produce from 100 g → restock in 500 g or 1 kg. Paraffin pellets are listed at 500 g and 1 kg; more is quoted on WhatsApp.
Matching: 8% test load, 200 g candle: 15 g oil ↔ 172.5 g wax · 100 g ↔ 1,150 g · 1 kg ↔ 11,500 g. Load is a test value; no paraffin ceiling is published in this data.
Baskets: Test ₹1,249.96 · first production ₹3,960.60 (₹220.03 a candle) · festive restock ₹13,074.00 (₹210.87 a candle).
Shop: Paraffin Pellets · Fragrance Oils · Wicks · Jars · orders on WhatsApp.
Buying for paraffin in three steps — match every oil pack to the wax it needs 200 g candles at an 8% test load: every 16 g of oil needs 184 g of paraffin 1 · Test15 g per oil≈ 1 candle each500 g–1 kg paraffin2 · Produce100 g per oil6.25 candles each1.5 kg paraffin per oil3 · Restock500 g or 1 kg31.25 or 62.5 candles6 or 12 kg paraffin Paraffin rounded up to the next 500 g after a 4% working allowance · pellets listed at 500 g and 1 kg only Larger paraffin quantities are quoted on WhatsApp
Each stage buys a bigger oil pack only after the smaller one has earned it. The paraffin column is what the oil pack implies at an 8% test load in 200 g candles, rounded up after a 4% working allowance for pour loss and test burns. Because paraffin pellets are listed only up to 1 kg, the restock stage is where a WhatsApp quote for wax usually makes sense.
Straight answer
How should you buy fragrance oils for paraffin wax candles in India?
Buy in three stages and buy the wax to match. Test in 15 g: 51 oils at CSI have an in-stock 15 g, from ₹68.44 for Eucalyptus Spearmint. Produce from 100 g, where the tester premium disappears; across the collection the 15 g costs a median 23.1% more per gram. Restock in 500 g or 1 kg only once a scent sells, knowing that most oils cost about the same per gram at 1 kg as at 100 g. Then size the paraffin to the oil. At an 8% test load in a 200 g candle, every 16 g of oil needs 184 g of wax, so a 100 g bottle needs 1,150 g of paraffin and a 1 kg bottle needs 11.5 kg. Fully Refined Paraffin Wax Pellets cost ₹177.00 for 500 g and ₹354.00 for 1 kg, the same rate at both sizes; for more than a few kilos, ask for a quote on WhatsApp. Our first-production basket, three 100 g oils with matching wax, jars and wicks for 18 candles, costs ₹3,960.60, or ₹220.03 a candle in materials. No paraffin fragrance ceiling is published in this data, so treat 8% as a test value, and see How Much Fragrance Oil Should I Use in Paraffin Wax? before you settle a load.
One line: buy the oil and the wax as a pair — a bottle without its wax is half an order.
The cheapest useful paraffin order is five 15 g testers (Jasmine, Fresh Strawberries, Orchard Pear, Eucalyptus Spearmint and Cucumber Green Tea, ₹482.96) with 1 kg of paraffin pellets (₹354.00), five White Matte Glass Jars (₹354.00) and ten Eco wicks (₹59.00). Total ₹1,249.96.
Buy paraffin wax pellets

Buy in three stages, not one

The most expensive fragrance you will ever buy is a kilo of the wrong scent. The second most expensive is a production run poured from 15 g testers.

Buying for paraffin candles works best as three separate decisions. At the test stage, you are paying to learn, so buy the smallest size that pours a real candle. At the production stage, you are paying for oil that goes into candles you sell, so buy the size where the per-gram price levels out. At the restock stage, you are buying security, so buy the size that stops you running out in the middle of a season. The sizes that suit each stage are different, and so is the amount of paraffin each one implies.

Across the Fragrance Oils collection · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
The three buying stages at a glance
Stage Oil pack What it pours (200 g, 8% test load) Per-gram position Paraffin to match
Test 15 g (or smallest listed) 0.94 candles, or three 50 g test candles at 8% Median 23.1% dearer than 100 g 172.5 g — a 500 g pack covers two testers
Produce 100 g 6.25 candles Where the price levels out; 50 g is usually the same rate 1,150 g — buy 1.5 kg
Restock 500 g or 1 kg 31.25 or 62.5 candles Within ±1% of 100 g for 52 of 91 oils at 1 kg 5.75 kg or 11.5 kg — ask for a quote

The per-gram column is the important one. Across the collection, the 15 g carries a median premium of 23.1% per gram over the same oil's 100 g. Between 50 g and 100 g the median difference is zero. Between 100 g and 1 kg, 52 of the 91 oils listing both sizes are within 1%. So the only size step that reliably saves money is from the tester up to 50 g or 100 g. Above that, you buy bigger for convenience and stock security, not for a lower rate. The oils where 1 kg does save are named in Buy 1 Kg Fragrance Oil for Paraffin Candle Making.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We would sell more if we told you to buy every oil in 1 kg from day one. For most oils, a kilo costs the same per gram as ten 100 g bottles, and a kilo of an unproven scent is ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 sitting on a shelf. Buy 100 g until a scent has sold through at least once. Jasmine, for example, is ₹4.30 a gram at 100 g and ₹3.92 at 1 kg. That 8.8% saving is real, but not worth a kilo of a scent your customers have not yet chosen.

Match every oil pack to its paraffin

Every bottle of oil you buy implies a quantity of wax. At an 8% test load in a 200 g candle, the candle holds 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax, a ratio of 11.5 g of wax for every gram of oil. The table converts each oil pack into candles and wax, adds a 4% working allowance for pour loss and test burns, and rounds up to the paraffin pellet packs CSI lists. The load is a test value, not a paraffin specification.

200 g candles · 8% test load · 4% working allowance · paraffin at ₹354.00 / kg · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
How much paraffin each oil pack needs
Oil pack 200 g candles Wax needed Paraffin to buy As listed packs Paraffin cost
15 g 0.94 172.5 g 500 g 1 × 500 g ₹177.00
50 g 3.12 575.0 g 1 kg 1 × 1 kg ₹354.00
100 g 6.25 1,150.0 g 1.5 kg 1 × 1 kg + 1 × 500 g ₹531.00
500 g 31.25 5,750.0 g 6 kg 6 × 1 kg ₹2,124.00
1 kg 62.50 11,500.0 g 12 kg 12 × 1 kg ₹4,248.00

Two things are worth noticing. The 500 g and 1 kg paraffin packs cost the same per gram (₹0.354), so there is no penalty for buying in half-kilos, and no saving for buying in whole ones. And paraffin pellets are listed only up to 1 kg per pack. At the restock stage, one 1 kg bottle of oil implies twelve 1 kg packs of wax. You can buy that many from the store at the listed price, or ask on WhatsApp whether a larger paraffin quantity can be quoted. No bulk discount figure is published, so do not assume one.

If your load is not 8%
At 6% a 200 g candle holds 12 g of oil and 188 g of wax, so 100 g of oil pours 8.33 candles and needs 1,566.7 g of wax. At 10% it holds 20 g of oil and 180 g of wax, so 100 g pours 5 candles and needs 900 g. Settle your load with a test ladder first; How Much Fragrance Oil Should I Use in Paraffin Wax? sets one out. No paraffin ceiling is published in this data, so ask for the wax maker's figure on WhatsApp.

Other waxes change the matching too. If you blend in the Microcrystalline Wax Slab (₹149.00 for 500 g, ₹299.00 for 1 kg), weigh the blend as your wax total. Blend ratios are not published in this data, so treat any ratio as your own test. The Semi Refined Paraffin Wax at ₹220.00 had only one unit in stock on the pull date, so do not build a matched order around it.

Three priced baskets

A basket is an order you can place today: oil, wax, wick and jar, in quantities that match.

The three baskets below correspond to the three stages. Each uses different oils, so you can see a range of price points. Jars are White Matte Glass Jars at ₹354.00 for five, and wicks are Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1 at ₹5.90 each. Wick sizing for a given jar is not published in this data, so confirm your wick with a burn test before the production basket.

Basket A pours five 200 g test candles at 7.5% (15 g oil + 185 g wax each), using 925 g of the kilo of paraffin. The oils cost ₹482.96 together, with Eucalyptus Spearmint the cheapest 15 g in the whole collection at ₹68.44. Five jars and ten wicks leave you spare wicks for a second pour.

Basket B · first production · 18 candles of 200 g at 8% · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026

Item Quantity Price
Jasmine 100 g ₹430.00
Fresh Strawberries 100 g ₹377.60
Orchard Pear 100 g ₹380.00

Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1 20 ₹118.00
Total ₹3,960.60
Material cost per candle 18 candles ₹220.03

Three 100 g bottles give 300 g of oil, enough for 18 candles at 16 g with 12 g spare. The paraffin allowance is 18 × 184 g plus 4%, or 3,444.5 g, rounded up to 3.5 kg. Two jars are spare. The per-candle figure includes the spare jars and wax, which is why it is higher than the pure recipe cost. Recipe cost alone, with oil at 100 g rates, is ₹210.64 for Jasmine, ₹202.25 for Fresh Strawberries and ₹202.64 for Orchard Pear.

Basket C · festive restock · 62 candles of 200 g at 8% · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026

Mango Coconut 500 g ₹1,982.00

Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1 100 ₹590.00
Total ₹13,074.00
Material cost per candle 62 candles ₹210.87

Basket C uses the 500 g size because both oils show a real step there. Mango Coconut drops from ₹5.00 a gram at 100 g to ₹3.96 at 500 g, and Eucalyptus Spearmint from ₹3.54 to ₹3.30. Most oils do not behave like this, so check each oil's own ladder. The wax line is twelve 1 kg packs at the listed price; if you want paraffin in larger units, ask on WhatsApp.

What to check before you click buy

Product pages change, and the listing on the day you order is the one that counts. Before you place a paraffin order, run through the checks below on each oil's page and on the wax page. They take a few minutes and avoid most of the order problems makers run into.

1
Check that the size you want is in stockSome oils are missing single sizes. On the pull date, the Vetiver 1 kg and the Chocolate Fudge 100 g were out of stock, and seven oils had no size in stock at all. A price you cannot buy is not a price.
2
Work out the per-gram price yourselfDivide the pack price by its weight. Compare 50 g against 100 g too; for many oils they are the same rate, so the 50 g is a cheaper way to buy a small production run.
3
Read the wax page for a fragrance limitNo paraffin ceiling is published in this data. Check the paraffin pellets page for the wax maker's stated maximum, or ask on WhatsApp.
4
Size the paraffin to the oilUse the matching table above. Paraffin pellets come in 500 g and 1 kg at the same rate per gram, so buy in half-kilos if that fits better.
5
Add wicks and jars for the whole runCount jars in packs of five and wicks in the pack sizes listed. Leave one or two spare for a test burn from the batch.
6
Ask for documents with the orderGST invoice, MSDS and IFRA certificate are available on request. Ask when you order. Where to Buy Candle-Safe Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Wax explains what each document tells you.
Buying the oil and forgetting the wax. A 1 kg bottle of oil at an 8% load needs 11.5 kg of wax to become candles. Makers who order oil first and wax later often find they have a season's fragrance and a fortnight's wax. Order both together, sized with the table above, and ask for a combined quote if the wax quantity runs to several kilos.
The CSI principle
Every bottle of oil is a wax order in disguise.
At 8% in a 200 g candle, one gram of oil needs 11.5 grams of wax. Size the two together, buy them together, and your production run starts when the parcel arrives, not when the second order does.

Paperwork, payment and repeat orders

A business buyer needs more than the product. CSI provides GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request through WhatsApp at +91 7397976926. Ask for them at the time of ordering, and keep one set per oil in your records. Retailers and corporate gifting clients increasingly ask to see them, and it is easier to have them on file than to chase them when a buyer is waiting.

For repeat orders, keep a simple sheet: oil, size, price paid, date and the number of candles it poured. After two or three orders you will know each scent's real consumption rate, and that tells you when the 500 g or 1 kg becomes the sensible size. For volumes beyond the listed packs, Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Candle Manufacturers explains how the WhatsApp quote route works and what to include in your message. If you are planning a whole range, the paraffin oil shortlist is the place to choose scents before you buy. Once you are producing, Bulk Fragrance Oils for Commercial Paraffin Candles covers holding stock and Fragrance Oil for Paraffin Wax Commercial Production costs a full production run.

Diwali is on 8 November 2026. A festive paraffin run needs its oil and wax together by mid-October, and popular sizes can sell out close to the season. If Basket C looks like your festive order, send the list on WhatsApp for a combined quote, with GST invoice and IFRA documents attached.

If your paraffin candles are going into moulds rather than jars, the matching arithmetic is the same but the candle weight depends on your mould. Weigh one filled cavity or mould before you order, and read Buy Fragrance Oils for Pillar Candle Making for pillar buying. For a larger container range, Buy Fragrance Oils for Jar Candle Making in India covers jar candle buying in general.

Test in 15 g. Produce in 100 g. Order the paraffin in the same breath.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. On a buying page the easy advice for us would be to steer you to the biggest packs. Our own listed prices show the 1 kg is usually no cheaper per gram than the 100 g, so this page tells you to buy 100 g until a scent sells, and names the oils where a larger pack genuinely saves.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026. Wick and jar prices are those verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026. Basket totals, per-candle figures and wax quantities are plain arithmetic on those prices and are shown to two decimals so you can check them.

The 200 g candle, the 8% load and the 4% wastage allowance are working assumptions, not a specification. No fragrance ceiling is published for CSI's paraffin in this data. For the wax maker's stated maximum, paraffin in larger quantities, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA certificates, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.
