Paraffin Candles · 1 kg Packs
A 1 kg bottle of fragrance oil is 62.5 paraffin candles of one scent and almost 12 kilos of wax to go with it. For most oils it costs the same per gram as ten 100 g bottles, and for a few, two 500 g packs cost less. This page shows when the kilo is the right buy.
₹1,699.20
what two 500 g packs of Saffron Cedarwood save against its 1 kg pack, for the same kilo of oil · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Should I buy 1 kg fragrance oil for paraffin candles? When the scent is proven, you use it steadily, and the kilo is not dearer than another way of buying the same 1,000 g. For 52 of 91 oils the 1 kg is within ±1% of the 100 g per gram, so the kilo mostly buys stock security.

How many paraffin candles does 1 kg of oil make? 62.5 candles of 200 g at an 8% test load, needing 11.5 kg of paraffin, or 12 kg with a 4% allowance. See what a kilo commits you to.

Is 1 kg always cheaper than smaller packs? No. Saffron Cedarwood's 1 kg costs ₹6,867.60, but two 500 g packs cost ₹5,168.40. Love Spell's and Pomegranate Splash's kilos cost fractionally more per gram than their 100 g. Check the comparison.

What does a 1 kg production bundle cost? Ylang Ylang Flower 1 kg, 12 kg of paraffin, 65 White Matte Glass Jars and 100 wicks cost ₹14,750.00 for 62 candles, or ₹237.90 each.
The short answer
The kilo: 1 kg oil = 62.5 × 200 g candles at 8% = 11.5 kg paraffin (12 kg with 4%). The 8% is a test value; no paraffin ceiling is published in this data.
Cheaper routes: Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood: 2 × 500 g ₹5,168.40 vs 1 kg ₹6,867.60. Vetiver 1 kg out of stock: 2 × 500 g ₹5,800.00.
Real 1 kg breaks: Ylang Ylang Flower 10.0% · Spicy Cinnamon 7.0% cheaper per gram at 1 kg than 100 g. The full list of 24 is in the wholesale guide.
What one kilo of fragrance oil means in a paraffin workshop 200 g candles at an 8% test load · paraffin rounded up after a 4% working allowance 1 kg oil ₹2,832.00 – ₹24,056.00 + 12 kg paraffin ₹4,248.00 at the listed rate = 62.5 candles of 200 g · plus 63 jars and wicks Buying the kilo commits you to 11.5 kg of wax and 62 finished candles of one scent. Paraffin pellets are listed only up to 1 kg per pack · larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp
The oil bottle is only the first part of a 1 kg decision. At an 8% test load, a kilo of oil pours 62.5 candles of 200 g and needs 11.5 kg of paraffin, or 12 kg after a 4% allowance for pour loss and test burns. That is twelve 1 kg packs of paraffin pellets at the listed price, or a quantity to ask CSI to quote.
Straight answer
Should you buy 1 kg fragrance oil for paraffin candle making?
Buy the kilo for a proven scent that you use steadily, and check first that it is the cheapest way to buy 1,000 g of that oil. A 1 kg pack at an 8% test load pours 62.5 candles of 200 g and needs 11.5 kg of paraffin, so it is a commitment to one scent and to about twelve kilos of Fully Refined Paraffin Wax Pellets. On price, most kilos buy convenience rather than a discount: for 52 of 91 oils, the 1 kg is within ±1% of the 100 g per gram. Some do save, such as Ylang Ylang Flower (10.0%) and Spicy Cinnamon (7.0%). And a few kilos are the wrong way to buy a kilo: Saffron Cedarwood's 1 kg is ₹6,867.60, while two 500 g packs are ₹5,168.40, and Love Spell's and Pomegranate Splash's kilos cost fractionally more than ten 100 g bottles. If a scent's 1 kg is out of stock, as Vetiver's was on the pull date, two 500 g packs do the same job. Use a kilo when it will last one to six months at your sales rate; beyond that, stay in 100 g.
One line: the kilo is a stock decision — check the cheaper way to buy the same 1,000 g before you click.
A kilo with a real saving: Ylang Ylang Flower 1 kg at ₹5,310.00, ₹5.31 a gram against ₹5.90 at 100 g. Pair it with 12 × 1 kg of paraffin pellets (₹4,248.00) for 62 candles of 200 g at an 8% test load.

What a kilo commits you to

A kilo of fragrance oil is not one purchase. It is 62 candles of the same scent and a sack of wax to make them from.

In a 200 g paraffin candle at an 8% test load, each candle holds 16 g of oil and 184 g of wax. So 1,000 g of oil pours 62.5 candles and needs 11,500 g of paraffin. With a 4% working allowance for pour loss and test burns, that is 12 kg. Paraffin pellets are listed at ₹354.00 for 1 kg and ₹177.00 for 500 g, the same rate, and only up to 1 kg a pack; twelve packs cost ₹4,248.00, or you can ask for larger quantities to be quoted on WhatsApp. The 8% is a test value: no fragrance ceiling is published for CSI's paraffin in this data, so check the wax page or ask for the wax maker's stated maximum.

One kilo of oil at different test loads · 200 g paraffin candles · 4% wax allowance
How far a kilo goes
Load Oil per candle Candles per kilo Paraffin needed Paraffin to buy Paraffin cost
6% 12 g 83.33 15,667 g 17 kg ₹6,018.00
8% 16 g 62.50 11,500 g 12 kg ₹4,248.00
10% 20 g 50.00 9,000 g 10 kg ₹3,540.00

Lower loads stretch the kilo further but need more wax per gram of oil. At 6% a kilo pours 83 candles and needs 17 kg of paraffin; at 10% it pours 50 candles and needs 10 kg. Your load comes from a burn test, not from this table; How Much Fragrance Oil Should I Use in Paraffin Wax? sets out the ladder.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We would like to sell you kilos. But a kilo of an unproven scent is 62 candles you may not be able to sell, and for most oils it costs the same per gram as ten 100 g bottles. Until a scent has sold through at least once in your range, the 100 g is the lower-risk buy at the same rate. The kilo is for scents you already know will move.

The cheapest way to buy a kilo

For any oil, 1,000 g can usually be bought several ways: one 1 kg pack, two 500 g packs, or ten 100 g bottles. The table compares them for twelve oils, using only in-stock sizes, and names the cheapest route. The results fall into four groups, and each has a different buying rule.

Real kilo savings. Ylang Ylang Flower and Spicy Cinnamon are cheaper at 1 kg than in 100 g bottles, by ₹590.00 and ₹491.00. Flat pricing. Neroli, White Royal Oud, Mahogany Shea and Dark Vanilla Oud cost the same or nearly the same whichever way you buy, so buy the kilo only for convenience. Kilo slightly dearer. Love Spell's kilo costs ₹9.00 more than ten 100 g bottles, and Pomegranate Splash's ₹9.00 more. Two 500 g beats the kilo. Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood are ₹5.17 a gram at 500 g and ₹6.87 at 1 kg, so two 500 g packs save ₹1,699.20 on the same kilo.

Check the 500 g before every kilo
The per-gram price at 500 g is not always between the 100 g and the 1 kg. For Saffron Cedarwood it is the lowest of all three; for Love Spell it is the highest. Divide each pack price by its grams before you buy, every time.

When the 1 kg is the right buy

Price rarely decides the kilo on its own, so decide on usage. The table shows how long one kilo lasts at different sales rates for a single scent in 200 g paraffin candles at 8%. The last column is a rule of thumb, not a CSI recommendation for any particular oil.

One scent · 200 g candles · 16 g of oil each · 62.5 candles per kilo
How long a kilo lasts
Candles of this scent per month Oil used per month One kilo lasts Rule of thumb
10 160 g 6.2 months Hold 100 g
20 320 g 3.1 months 1 kg is reasonable
40 640 g 1.6 months 1 kg is reasonable
60 960 g 1.0 months 1 kg, reorder often

Is the scent proven? It has passed your burn test and sold through at least once. If not, stay in 100 g. Which Fragrance Oils Give Strong Hot Throw in Paraffin Wax? covers testing.
2
Is the kilo the cheapest way to buy 1,000 g?Compare 1 × 1 kg, 2 × 500 g and 10 × 100 g for that oil, in-stock sizes only. Buy whichever is lowest.
3
Will it last one to six months?Under a month, you will be reordering often and may want a quote for more. Over six months, you are tying up cash and shelf space for no rate benefit on most oils.
4
Have you ordered the wax?A kilo of oil at 8% needs 12 kg of paraffin. Order it with the oil, or ask for a combined quote.

Ask for the documentsMSDS and the IFRA certificate for the oil, with the GST invoice. Where to Buy Candle-Safe Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Wax explains what to check.
The CSI principle
Buy the kilo for the scent, not for the saving.
On most oils there is no saving to buy. What the kilo gives you is sixty-two candles of a scent you already know sells, without reordering. If that is what you need, buy it, and buy it the cheapest way the listing allows.

Stock gaps at 1 kg

Seventy-three oils were in stock at 1 kg on 24 September 2026. Several popular oils were not, and a kilo you cannot buy is not a price. On the pull date, the 1 kg was out of stock for Vetiver, Freshwater (BBW Inspired), Into The Night (BBW Inspired), Butterfly (BBW Inspired), Sacred Sandal Ember, Moca Coffee and Coffee Blast, among others, and seven oils had no size in stock at all. Where the 500 g is in stock, as for Vetiver at ₹2,900.00, two 500 g packs make the kilo. Where it is not, ask CSI on WhatsApp about restocking; restock dates are not published in this data.

Planning a festive range around a kilo that is out of stock. Check the product page on the day you order, not the day you plan. If your best seller's 1 kg is unavailable, the 500 g or 100 g at a similar rate keeps production going, and a tested back-up oil in the same family protects the range. Bulk Fragrance Oils for Commercial Paraffin Candles covers stock planning.

For the rest of the paraffin cluster: Buy Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Wax Candles in India covers buying stages from 15 g up, Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Candle Manufacturers lists all 24 oils with a real 1 kg break, and Fragrance Oil for Paraffin Wax Commercial Production costs a production run. If you also make soy or container candles, Buy 1 Kg Fragrance Oil for Soy Candle Making and Buy 1 Kg Fragrance Oil for Container Candle Production cover the 1 kg decision there.

One kilo of oil is sixty-two candles and twelve kilos of wax. Decide on the candles, then buy the kilo the cheapest way.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A page about buying kilos is where a supplier would most like to say the kilo is always cheaper. Our own listings show it usually is not, that two 500 g packs beat the kilo for Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood, and that a few kilos cost fractionally more than ten 100 g bottles. We say so.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026, and out-of-stock sizes are flagged rather than offered. Jar and wick prices are those verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026. Every comparison is plain arithmetic on listed prices, shown to two decimals.

The 200 g candle, 8% load and 4% allowance are working assumptions; no fragrance ceiling is published for CSI's paraffin in this data. The usage rule of thumb is a planning suggestion, not a CSI recommendation for any oil. For restock timing, paraffin in quantity, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA certificates, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.
