Paraffin Candles · Bulk Stock
Bulk buying is a stock decision more than a price decision. For most oils a kilo costs the same per gram as ten 100 g bottles, so the reason to buy bulk is to never run out mid-season. This page plans one quarter of stock for a four-scent paraffin tin line and prices every line of it.
₹95.64
all-in material cost per 85 g paraffin tin across a 2,400-tin quarter (oil, wax, tin, wick) · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What does bulk fragrance oil cost for a commercial paraffin line? For a quarter of 2,400 tins of 85 g in four scents, the oil costs ₹73,407.80 bought as 1 kg and 500 g packs. With paraffin, tins and wicks the quarter is ₹2,29,541.80, or ₹95.64 a tin. See the quarter's plan.

Is 500 g or 1 kg better for bulk? For these four oils, 500 g and 1 kg cost the same or nearly the same per gram, so buy the mix that matches your usage. Across the collection, the 1 kg is within ±1% of the 100 g for 52 of 91 oils; bulk mostly buys stock security.

When should I reorder bulk fragrance? Set a reorder point. In our example each scent uses 1,360 g a month, and we reorder when stock falls to one month of cover. Delivery times are not published here, so set your own cover on WhatsApp confirmation.

How should bulk fragrance oil be stored? In general practice, closed, in the original container, away from heat and sunlight, and labelled with the date received. Flash point matters for storage and transport; it is on the oil's MSDS, which CSI supplies on request.
The short answer
Quarter plan: 2,400 × 85 g tins at an 8% test load · 4 scents × 4.5 kg of oil · 196 kg paraffin · total ₹2,29,541.80 (₹95.64 a tin).
Per tin: Cucumber Green Tea in paraffin: ₹86.21 per 85 g tin (oil ₹22.63, wax ₹27.68, tin ₹30.00, wick ₹5.90). Same tin in soy chunks: ₹105.37.
Stock risk: Seven oils had no size in stock on 24 September 2026; others were missing single sizes. Hold a reserve for any scent above a quarter of your volume and confirm restocks on WhatsApp.

Stock of one scent across the October–December quarter. At 200 tins a month and 6.8 g per tin, each scent uses 1,360 g a month. The dashed line marks one month of cover, a working reorder point; set your own once you know how long a restock takes. What remains at the end is the allowance for pour loss and test burns, plus the rounding up to whole packs.
Straight answer
How should a commercial paraffin candle maker buy fragrance oil in bulk?
Buy a season's stock, not a discount. On CSI's listed prices, most oils cost about the same per gram at 1 kg as at 100 g, so bulk buying mainly protects you from running out. Plan it per scent: candles per month × oil per candle × months, plus an allowance. For a line of 85 g paraffin tins at an 8% test load (6.8 g of oil each), 200 tins a month for three months is 4,080 g per scent, or 4.5 kg bought as four 1 kg packs and one 500 g. Across four scents, Cucumber Green Tea, Peach Melon Berry, Fallen Leaves and Cinnamon Vanilla, the oil costs ₹73,407.80. The same quarter needs 196 kg of paraffin, which is a WhatsApp quote, since Fully Refined Paraffin Wax Pellets are listed only to 1 kg. All in, with Golden Aluminium Tins and wicks, the quarter costs ₹2,29,541.80, or ₹95.64 a tin. Set a reorder point per scent, hold the MSDS for each oil, and store the stock closed, cool and dark. No paraffin ceiling is published in this data, so settle your load with a test ladder before you buy a quarter's worth.
One line: bulk buys you a season without stock-outs — price it per scent, per month, then add the allowance.
The container for this plan is the Golden Aluminium Tin with an 85 g fill weight: ₹360.00 for 12, or ₹30.00 a tin. At an 8% test load it holds 6.8 g of oil and 78.2 g of paraffin, so ₹86.21 of materials makes a finished Cucumber Green Tea tin.

Why bulk is a stock decision

A commercial paraffin line fails more often from an empty bottle in November than from paying ₹0.20 a gram too much in September.

On CSI's listed catalogue, the per-gram price of most oils stops falling at 50 g or 100 g. Across the collection, 52 of the 91 oils listing both 100 g and 1 kg sit within ±1% per gram, and only 24 show a 1 kg saving of 5% or more. So a commercial maker buying 500 g and 1 kg packs is usually paying the same rate as a maker buying 100 g. What the bigger packs buy is continuity: fewer orders, less chance of a size selling out, and a line you can keep producing through the festive season.

That changes how you plan. Instead of asking which pack is cheapest, ask how many weeks of production you want in stock for each scent, and what happens if one scent runs out. A commercial paraffin line that sells four scents cannot tell a retailer that one of them is unavailable until a reorder arrives. For the listed price breaks themselves, see Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Candle Manufacturers; this page is about holding the stock.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We sell 500 g and 1 kg packs, and it would suit us to say bulk is always cheaper. For the four oils in this plan, it is barely cheaper at all: buying the same 4.5 kg in 100 g bottles would cost ₹4,277.50 more across all four, on a ₹73,407.80 oil bill. The case for bulk here is stock security and fewer orders, not price. If you only sell a few dozen tins a month, 100 g bottles are the lower-risk way to buy.

The line: 85 g paraffin tins

Tins suit commercial paraffin work: they are light, stack well, travel without breakage, and sell at a price point where paraffin's low wax cost matters. CSI lists a Golden Aluminium Tin with a published fill weight of 85 g, at ₹360.00 for a pack of 12. At an 8% test load, each tin takes 6.8 g of oil and 78.2 g of wax. The load is a test value: no fragrance ceiling is published for CSI's paraffin in this data, so check the wax page or ask on WhatsApp, and settle your load with a test before planning bulk.

One tin, costed in paraffin and in soy
Line Paraffin pellets Luxury Soy Wax Chunks
Oil (Cucumber Green Tea, 6.8 g) ₹22.63 ₹22.63
Wax (78.2 g) ₹27.68 ₹46.84
Golden Aluminium Tin ₹30.00 ₹30.00
Eco Thin C1 wick ₹5.90 ₹5.90
Material cost per tin ₹86.21 ₹105.37
Oil's share 26.2% 21.5%

In a small format the container is a large share of the cost, so the oil's share is lower than in a 200 g jar. Paraffin still saves ₹19.16 a tin against soy chunks, which across a 2,400-tin quarter is ₹45,981.60. The wick is an Eco Thin C1 as a starting point; wick sizes for an 85 g tin are not published in this data, so confirm with a burn test before you buy a quarter's wicks.

Test the tin before you stock the quarter
Pour two or three tins of each scent from 15 g or 50 g packs and burn them to the end before you order bulk. A tin that tunnels or soots at your chosen load needs a different wick or load, and it is far cheaper to learn that with 15 g than with 4.5 kg. Strong Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Candles sets out a low-cost strength trial.

A quarter's stock, priced

Four scents, three months, 2,400 tins. Every line of the order, priced.

The plan covers October to December, the busiest quarter for most Indian candle businesses. Each scent sells 200 tins a month. Per scent, that is 600 tins × 6.8 g = 4,080 g of oil, or 4,243.2 g with a 4% working allowance for pour loss and test burns. Rounded up to listed packs, it is 4.5 kg per scent: four 1 kg and one 500 g. The table shows the same 4.5 kg bought three ways.

4.5 kg per scent · 600 tins each · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Same stock, three pack mixes

Cinnamon Vanilla ₹4.60 ₹4.55 ₹20,520.20 ₹20,709.00 ₹21,771.00 ₹94.56
Four scents ₹73,407.80 ₹73,596.60 ₹77,685.30

For three of the four oils, 500 g and 1 kg are the same rate per gram, so the kilo-and-half-kilo mix and nine 500 g packs cost the same. Cinnamon Vanilla's 1 kg is fractionally cheaper per gram than its 500 g, which accounts for the small difference between the two columns. Buying in 100 g would cost ₹4,277.50 more across the quarter. About half of that comes from Fallen Leaves, whose 500 g and 1 kg are 10.0% cheaper per gram than its 100 g, and none of it from Peach Melon Berry, which costs the same per gram at 100 g as at 1 kg.

Per tin 2,400 tins ₹95.64

The paraffin line is 2,400 × 78.2 g plus 4%, or 195.2 kg, rounded up to 196 kg. Because pellets are listed only at 500 g and 1 kg, a quantity like this should go to WhatsApp for a quote; no bulk discount figure is published, so the table uses the listed rate. The tins are the largest single line in the order, which is normal for a small format. Wicks are priced at the 1,000 and 500 packs from the 25 September pull, at ₹5.90 each.

Reorder points and stock risk

A reorder point is the stock level at which you place the next order, so that it arrives before you run out. It depends on two numbers: how fast you use the oil and how long a restock takes. The first you know: 1,360 g per scent per month in this plan. The second is not published in this data, so confirm it on WhatsApp for your city and set your cover accordingly. The diagram uses one month of cover as a working assumption.

1
Work out monthly use per scentTins per month × oil per tin. Here, 200 × 6.8 g = 1,360 g.
2
Decide your coverHow many weeks of production must be in stock when you reorder? Base it on the restock time CSI confirms for you, plus a margin for the festive rush.
3
Set the reorder point per scentMonthly use × months of cover. One month of cover here is 1,360 g. A best-seller may need more.
4
Check stock on the product page when you reorderSizes go out of stock. On the pull date, seven oils had no size in stock, and others such as the Vetiver 1 kg and Chocolate Fudge 100 g were missing one size. If your size is out, the 500 g or 100 g may still be available at a similar rate.
5
Keep a tested back-up for each best-sellerFor any scent above a quarter of your volume, test a second oil in the same family. If the first is unavailable, the line keeps running.
6
Reorder paraffin with the oilEach 1 kg of oil in this line needs 11.5 kg of paraffin (147 tins). Order them together so the wax never becomes the bottleneck.
Stocking up on everything equally. A four-scent line rarely sells four equal shares. After one month, reorder by actual sales, not by the original plan. The scent that sold 300 tins needs 50% more stock next month, and the one that sold 100 may not need a reorder at all.

Storing bulk oil and wax

A quarter's stock sits on your shelf for up to three months, so storage matters. In general practice, keep fragrance oil closed, in its original container, away from heat and direct sunlight, and label each container with the date received. Use older stock first. Keep paraffin pellets sealed and dry, so the wax stays clean. None of this is specific to CSI's oils; it is ordinary care for a commercial workshop.

Two documents matter for bulk storage and transport. The MSDS (material safety data sheet) covers handling and storage, including the flash point, which is relevant to how the oil is stored and shipped rather than to how it performs in a candle. The IFRA certificate covers how the oil may be used. This guide does not state any individual oil's flash point or IFRA figures; CSI supplies both documents on request. Where to Buy Candle-Safe Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Wax explains what to check in each.

The CSI principle
Bulk is a promise to your customers, not a bargain for you.
You buy a season of oil so that every retailer and every repeat buyer gets the scent they ordered, all quarter long. Price it honestly per scent, set a reorder point, keep the paperwork, and the stock will do its job.
Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, in the middle of this plan's quarter. If you want the whole October–December stock in hand before the rush, send the order on WhatsApp now for a combined quote on oils, 196 kg of paraffin and tins, with GST invoice and MSDS.

For the batch-by-batch production view of the same line, see Fragrance Oil for Paraffin Wax Commercial Production. If your commercial line is soy rather than paraffin, Bulk Fragrance Oils for Soy Candle Manufacturers covers bulk for soy manufacturers, and Bulk Fragrance Oils for Scented Tealight Production covers bulk for small-format tealight production. When a single scent justifies a kilo, Buy 1 Kg Fragrance Oil for Paraffin Candle Making covers that decision, and Buy Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Wax Candles in India the earlier buying stages.

The cheapest bulk order is the one that never leaves you with an empty shelf in November.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A bulk page is an easy place to oversell. This one shows that for three of the four oils in the plan, bulk packs cost the same per gram as smaller ones, and it says plainly that the case for bulk is stock security, not a lower rate.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026; tin prices and the Eco 500- and 1,000-wick packs are from the 24–25 September pull. Quarter totals, per-tin figures and stock levels are plain arithmetic on those prices, shown to two decimals.

The 85 g tin at an 8% load, 200 tins per scent per month, the 4% allowance and the one-month reorder cover are working assumptions. No fragrance ceiling is published for CSI's paraffin in this data. Storage guidance is general practice. For restock timing, paraffin in quantity, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA certificates, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy bulk fragrance oil for candle manufacturing in India?
CSI lists oils up to 1 kg per pack, with 64 oils in stock at 500 g and 73 at 1 kg on 24 September 2026. For quantities beyond that, or a combined order with paraffin, message CSI on WhatsApp for a quote. No bulk discount figure is published.
How much fragrance oil do I need for 1,000 candles?
Multiply candle weight by load. For 85 g tins at an 8% test load, 1,000 tins need 6.8 kg of oil and 78.2 kg of wax; for 200 g candles, 16 kg of oil and 184 kg of wax. Add 3–5% for pour loss and test burns as a working assumption.
Is buying fragrance oil in bulk cheaper?
For some oils. Twenty-four oils are at least 5% cheaper per gram at 1 kg than at 100 g, but 52 of 91 are within ±1%. Check each oil's ladder. Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Paraffin Candle Manufacturers lists the oils with real breaks.
How long can I store fragrance oil?
This guide does not state a shelf life for any oil. Store it closed, cool and dark, use older stock first, and ask CSI on WhatsApp about a specific oil. The MSDS covers storage and handling.
What is the cost of an 85 g paraffin tin candle?
At an 8% test load with Cucumber Green Tea at its 1 kg rate: oil ₹22.63, paraffin ₹27.68, Golden Aluminium Tin ₹30.00 and Eco wick ₹5.90, a material cost of ₹86.21. It excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST.
Can I get paraffin wax in bulk with my fragrance order?
