What CSI sells, and what it does not

Start with the fact. CSI does not list a fragrance oil combo pack. It does not list a fragrance sample pack, a trial pack, a discovery set or a fragrance starter kit either. If you have searched "candle fragrance oil combo pack India" and landed here, the honest answer is that you will not find a pre-packed bundle of scents on the store. What you will find is 93 oils in the Fragrance Oils collection, 86 of them with at least one size in stock, each sold on its own in up to five sizes: 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg.

That is enough to build any combo you want, in a single order. Add six oils to the cart and you have a six-oil combo. Choose the size for each one and you have a combo shaped to your plans instead of someone else's. The rest of this page shows that building it yourself is not a workaround. Two sizes do most of the work in a combo. The 15 g is the de facto sample size: at an 8% load it scents 187.5 g of candle, which is one 180–200 g candle or three 50 g test pots with 3 g to spare. The 50 g is the smallest size that makes more than one full candle, and for most oils it already costs the same per gram as the 100 g. Newer and inspired-by oils often start at 50 g or 100 g, so for those the smallest listed size is effectively the minimum. There is no stated minimum order on the store beyond that. What a fixed combo decides for you

It helps to be precise about what a pre-packed combo actually is, wherever you see one. Typically it is a fixed set of scents, in the same small quantity each, at one bundle price. That structure makes five decisions on your behalf. Some of them suit a hobbyist making gifts. Almost none of them suit someone who intends to sell candles and reorder the scents that work.

The fourth row matters most to a business. The whole point of buying several scents at once is to find the ones customers ask for again. When one does, you need to buy more of exactly that oil, at a known price, in a bigger size. With a self-built combo, the scent that wins your test is already a product page you have ordered from. You go back to it and pick 100 g or 1 kg. Nothing is lost between the test and the reorder, and nothing changes about the formula.

The six-oil combo, priced three ways

On the 24 September 2026 pull, the Fragrance Oils collection's best-selling sort opens with Lavender, British Rose, Roasted Coffee, Dark Vanilla, Blue Ocean and Sandalwood. That order is the store's sort as pulled. It is not a sales figure, and this page does not claim any. It does give a newcomer a reasonable, balanced starting set: six different scent families, all six in stock at 15 g, 50 g and 100 g. Here is the same combo at each size.

Three patterns show up. First, the 15 g step is where the price per gram jumps. The six-oil 15 g combo averages ₹6.77 a gram, the 50 g combo ₹5.47 and the 100 g combo ₹5.10. Across the catalogue, 15 g carries a median 23.1% per-gram premium over the same oil's 100 g. In this combo British Rose is the extreme case: ₹6.29 a gram at 15 g against ₹3.42 at 100 g. Second, 50 g and 100 g are often priced the same per gram. Lavender is ₹5.40 at both. Blue Ocean's 100 g is actually a paisa dearer per gram than its 50 g (₹4.94 against ₹4.95). Third, the oils are not equally priced. Dark Vanilla costs roughly twice British Rose per gram at 100 g, and that difference follows the scent into every candle.

Material cost here is oil, wax, wick and jar: 184 g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks at ₹599.00 a kilo (₹110.22), one Eco Candle Wicks Thin C1 at ₹5.90 and one White Matte Glass Jar at ₹70.80, a base of ₹186.92 before fragrance. It excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST. The spread inside one combo is ₹63.23 per candle between British Rose and Dark Vanilla. The weighted split — the better combo

The advantage of building your own combo is that you can size each scent by how confident you are in it. A simple rule works well for a first order. Put 100 g behind the scents you expect to lead, because 100 g usually costs the same per gram as a kilo and makes 6.25 candles. Put 50 g behind a real maybe. Put 15 g behind anything you are only testing. Applied to the same six oils, with Lavender and British Rose as the expected leaders and Roasted Coffee as the maybe, it looks like this.

The weighted combo costs ₹212.16 less and holds only 5 g less oil. It buys that oil at ₹4.84 a gram against ₹5.47, because most of the grams sit in the two cheapest-per-gram positions: British Rose at ₹3.42 and Lavender at ₹5.40 in the 100 g size. More importantly, it puts 200 g of oil behind the two leaders, 12.5 candles' worth, against 100 g in the equal split. If those two sell, you have stock to keep selling while you reorder. If Dark Vanilla, Blue Ocean or Sandalwood surprise you, the 15 g has told you so for ₹316.44 across all three.

You can also stage the combo over two orders instead of guessing up front. Order the six at 15 g first (₹609.08), pour and cure your test candles, then reorder the two winners at 100 g. If the winners turn out to be Lavender and British Rose, the two orders together cost ₹1,491.28. That is ₹62.64 more than guessing right first time with the weighted split, and ₹149.52 less than the equal 50 g combo. It also carries no risk of backing the wrong leader. A self-built combo takes about ten minutes to put together. Work through it in this order, and keep the running total in view as you add each oil.

Four combo mistakes that cost more than they save

Choosing six of one family. Six florals or six gourmands tell you which floral or gourmand you prefer. They tell you nothing about whether your buyers want florals at all. Letting price pick the combo. The six cheapest 15 g bottles on the store would cost less than this combo, but a combo chosen by price alone often leaves out the gourmands and woods that carry gift candles. Price each scent per candle, then decide. A dear oil in a dear candle can earn more than a cheap one.

Testing in one candle and deciding. One 15 g bottle makes one 200 g candle at 7.5%, or three 50 g pots at 8%. Pour the pots, cure them properly and burn them side by side. Assuming the kilo is always cheaper. On CSI's listed prices, 52 of the 91 oils that list both 100 g and 1 kg cost within 1% per gram at both sizes. Only 24 show a saving of 5% or more. British Rose is one of those, at 10.3%. Lavender saves 3.3%. Sandalwood saves nothing: it is ₹5.03 a gram at 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg.
