Fragrance Oils for Corporate Gifting Candles

Neutral to polarising

That single difference drives every scent decision in corporate gifting. The recipient list is broad: different ages, genders, religions and tastes, and often people who dislike scented products altogether. The gift sits on a desk, in a shared cabin or in a home the buyer never sees. The goal is not the most exciting candle. It is the candle that the greatest number of recipients will light and like, and the fewest will pass on. The table places CSI oils on that spectrum and costs each one in a 200 g gift jar.

The verdicts are reasoning about a broad audience, not sales data. They are the same judgement a buyer makes when choosing a gift for someone they do not know well. Price is not the deciding factor here. The neutral oils are among the cheaper ones: Cucumber Green Tea is ₹3.33 a gram at 1 kg and Blue Ocean ₹4.96. The polarising ones are often dearer, with Gilli Mitti at ₹8.96 and Coffee Vanilla Tobacco at ₹8.60. The safest corporate scent is usually also one of the more affordable.

Desk candle or gift jar

Corporate orders usually fall into two formats: a 100 g desk candle in a tin or simple glass for large employee lists, and a 200 g gift jar for clients and senior recipients. Branding, the box and the card vary too much to price here. The table shows oil, wax, wick and, for the 200 g, the White Matte Glass Jar at ₹70.80.

The gift jar costs roughly twice the desk candle before the jar itself, and the White Matte Glass Jar adds ₹70.80 on top. Across 300 recipients that difference is the budget conversation you will have with the buyer. The oil choice within the neutral group moves the cost far less: at 200 g, Vanilla Bean costs ₹69.09 more oil per candle than Cucumber Green Tea. A 250-gift order

Here is a worked example: 250 gift jars at 200 g, 125 in Blue Ocean and 125 in Vanilla Bean, at 8% with a 5% allowance on oil and wax (a working assumption). Wax is Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, with one Eco Thin C1 wick and one White Matte Glass Jar per candle.

Blue Ocean is priced flat from 50 g to 1 kg at about ₹4.95 a gram, so its pack mix is chosen for convenience. Vanilla Bean saves 3.2% per gram at the kilo. What a corporate buyer will ask for

Wedding families rarely ask for paperwork. Corporate buyers often do, because their procurement, finance or compliance teams need it. The questions are predictable, so have the answers ready before the purchase order arrives.

Two cautions keep you honest with the buyer. First, pass on what the documents say, not what you assume they say. The IFRA documentation for an oil states its own limits, and those are what you quote. Do not describe an oil as "certified" or "safe" in terms the document does not use. Second, ask for the documents when you buy the oil, not when the buyer asks you. A corporate order with a tight deadline is the worst time to be waiting for paperwork.

Taking the brief

Most corporate candle problems start with a vague brief. "Something nice for our clients" leaves you guessing on scent, format and budget, and every guess becomes a revision. A short list of questions at the start saves days later.
