A kilo of premium oil is 62.5 luxury candles at 16 g each, and between ₹6,655.20 and ₹24,056.00 of stock on your shelf. For most premium oils it costs the same per gram as a 100 g. This page lists every premium kilo you can buy today, shows the few where it saves money, and gives a simple rule for when to buy one.

Quick answers — read this first
Which premium fragrance oils can I buy in 1 kg? 32 oils at ₹6.50 a gram or more have the 1 kg in stock on the pull date, from Neroli (₹6,655.20) to Club De Nuit Intense Inspired (₹24,056.00). See the full list.

Is 1 kg cheaper than 100 g for premium oils? Usually not by much. The best saving in the premium tier is Neroli Signature Grade at 4.9%. Several kilos are 0.1% dearer per gram. Spicy Cinnamon, on the ₹6.50 line, saves 7.0%.

How many candles does 1 kg of fragrance oil make? 62.5 200 g candles at 8% (16 g each). At 6% it is 83.3, at 7% 71.4 and at 10% 50. Allow 3–5% for pour loss and test burns.

When should I buy a kilo? When one scent uses a kilo within about three months: roughly 20 or more 200 g candles a month at 8%. Below that, 100 g bottles cost about the same per gram and tie up less cash. See when the kilo pays.
The short answer
Kilo prices: 32 premium oils in stock at 1 kg: ₹6,655.20 (Neroli) to ₹24,056.00 (Club De Nuit Intense Inspired). Oil per 200 g candle at 8%: ₹106.48 to ₹384.90.
Kilo saving: In the premium tier, the 1 kg saves 0–4.9% per gram against 100 g; several are 0.1% dearer. Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood are cheapest as 500 g. Pink Crush is cheapest per gram as 50 g.
Months of cover: At 16 g a candle, a kilo lasts 6.25 months at 10 candles a month, 3.13 at 20, 1.56 at 40 and 0.63 at 100.
How long one 1 kg of oil lasts — 200 g candles at 8% (16 g each, 62.5 candles per kilo) 6.25 months 10 candles/month 3.12 months 20 candles/month 1.56 months 40 candles/month 1.04 months 60 candles/month 0.62 months 100 candles/month 3 months or less: the kilo earns its place 3–6 months over 6 months: stay with 100 g Per scent. The thresholds are our working rule of thumb, not a shelf-life figure: ask CSI for each oil's storage guidance.
Months of cover = 1,000 g ÷ (candles per month × 16 g). The shading uses our working rule: a kilo that will be used within about three months earns its place, and one that will sit for more than six months is better bought as 100 g bottles, which cost the same per gram for most premium oils. Storage life is not in our data. Ask CSI for each oil's guidance, and store oils sealed, cool and out of light.
Straight answer
Should a luxury candle maker buy premium fragrance oils by the kilo, and which ones?
Buy the kilo for proven scents you will use within about three months, not to save money. On CSI's live listings, 32 premium oils have the 1 kg in stock (₹6.50 a gram or more), from Neroli at ₹6,655.20 to Club De Nuit Intense Inspired at ₹24,056.00. A kilo pours 62.5 candles of 200 g at 8%, so the oil in each candle costs ₹106.48 to ₹384.90. For most of these oils the kilo is priced like ten 100 g bottles. The best saving inside the premium tier is Neroli Signature Grade at 4.9%, and several kilos are 0.1% dearer per gram. A few oils are cheaper in another size: Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood as 500 g, Pink Crush as 50 g. The honest reason to buy a kilo is stock security and fewer reorders. If a scent sells 20 or more candles a month, a kilo lasts about three months and earns its shelf space. Below that, stay with 100 g. Nine more premium oils have the kilo out of stock today, so confirm on WhatsApp before you plan production.
One line: kilos for scents you will use within about three months; 100 g for everything else, at the same price per gram.
The largest kilo saving at the premium line: Spicy Cinnamon 1 kg at ₹6,499.00, ₹6.50 a gram against ₹6.99 for 100 g, 7.0% less. That is 62.5 candles at ₹103.98 of oil each, ahead of the Diwali and wedding season.

Every premium kilo in stock

Here is every premium oil you can put in the basket as a kilo today, what it costs inside one candle, and whether the kilo actually saves you anything.

The table lists the 32 oils whose in-stock 1 kg costs ₹6.50 a gram or more, cheapest first. "Oil per candle" is 16 g at the kilo rate, for a 200 g candle at 8%. "vs 100 g" is the kilo's per-gram saving against the same oil's 100 g. A negative figure means the kilo costs fractionally more per gram. The last column shows the 500 g per gram where one is listed.

Three things stand out. First, the savings column is almost empty. Only Neroli Signature Grade (4.9%), Coffee Vanilla Tobacco (4.3%) and three oils at 3.2% (Raat Ki Rani (Night-Blooming Jasmine), Vanilla Bean and Dark Vanilla) save more than 2%. Second, eight kilos are 0.1% dearer than their 100 g, including the ₹7,999.00 group. Third, ten of the 32 have no 500 g listed at all, so for those the next step above 100 g is a full kilo.

Across the whole Fragrance Oils collection, 24 of 91 oils save 5% or more at 1 kg, but most are value oils such as Citronella (62.3%) and Honeydew Melon (22.0%). Premium oils are priced almost linearly. That is not a reason to avoid the kilo. It means the kilo decision is about how fast you use the oil, not about the rate. Wholesale luxury fragrance oils analyses the breaks in more detail, including the two near-premium oils at 7.0%.

Cost the candle, then the kilo
Read the "oil per candle" column before the kilo price. A ₹24,056.00 kilo sounds like a different purchase from a ₹6,655.20 one, but the real difference is ₹384.90 against ₹106.48 of oil per candle. Your selling price decides which you can carry. Premium Fragrance Oils for High-End Candle Brands shows how to use that in a tiered range.

When the kilo pays

If the per-gram price barely changes, the kilo is a stock decision. The question is how long one kilo of a scent will sit on your shelf. A 1 kg pours 62.5 candles at 16 g each. Here is how long it lasts at different monthly volumes for one scent:

Per scent · 200 g candles at 8% (16 g) · months = 1,000 g ÷ monthly grams
Months of cover from one kilo
Sales per scent per month Oil used per month One kilo lasts Buy as
10 candles 160 g 6.25 months 100 g bottles
20 candles 320 g 3.12 months 1 kg
40 candles 640 g 1.56 months 1 kg
60 candles 960 g 1.04 months 1 kg
100 candles 1,600 g 0.62 months 1 kg

Our working rule: buy the kilo when one scent will use it within about three months, around 20 or more candles a month. Between three and six months, a 500 g is a sensible middle step where it is listed, or the kilo if you are confident. Beyond six months, stay with 100 g bottles. You pay essentially the same per gram and keep the cash for something that sells. Storage life is not in our data. Ask CSI for guidance on each oil, and keep all oils sealed, cool and away from light, which is general good practice.

200 g candles · one 1 kg of oil · before any allowance for pour loss
Candles per kilo at four loads
Load Oil per candle Candles per kg Wax needed for those candles
6% 12 g 83.3 15.67 kg
7% 14 g 71.4 13.29 kg
8% 16 g 62.5 11.50 kg
10% 20 g 50.0 9.00 kg

The load you settle on in testing changes how far a kilo goes by two-thirds between 6% and 10%. Settle it before you buy kilos. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are rated up to 13% and CSI 464 up to 10% by the wax maker, and those are ceilings, not targets. How to Choose Fragrance Oils That Make Candles Smell Expensive explains why a moderate load often reads as more expensive, and a moderate load also makes every kilo pour more candles.

1
Prove the scent firstTest from its entry size and launch from 100 g. Buy Luxury Candle Fragrance Oils in India covers that stage. A kilo of an untested scent is 62.5 candles of risk.
2
Count a month of real salesUse sales, not hopes. One strong festive month is not a baseline, so plan the festive run separately.
3
Apply the three-month rule20 or more candles a month per scent: kilo. 10–20: 500 g where listed. Fewer: 100 g bottles.
4
Check the other sizes' per-gram priceSaffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood are cheaper as 500 g. Pink Crush is cheapest per gram as 50 g. Always read all the sizes.
5
Confirm stock before schedulingThe store shows whether the 1 kg is in stock, not how many. For more than a couple of kilos of one oil, ask on WhatsApp.
6
Store it properlySealed, cool, out of light. Label with the date received, and keep a small retained sample to compare the next kilo against.

When another size beats the kilo

The biggest pack is not always the cheapest gram. Read every size on the listing before you click the kilo.

Three premium oils are cheaper per gram in a smaller size than in the kilo, on the pull-date listings. Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood list their 500 g at ₹5.17 a gram against ₹6.87 for the 1 kg. Two 500 g packs cost ₹5,168.40 against ₹6,867.60, a saving of ₹1,699.20 on the same kilo of oil. Pink Crush lists its 50 g at ₹8.88 a gram, below both its 100 g (₹8.99) and its kilo (₹8.90). Twenty 50 g bottles would cost ₹8,880.00 against ₹8,899.00 for the kilo, which is only ₹19.00 less and far more handling.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. The kilo button is the obvious choice for production, and for Saffron Cedarwood and Sage and Cedarwood it is the wrong one: ₹1,699.20 more than two 500 g packs of the same oil. We would rather you bought the 500 g packs. Prices like these can be corrected on the listing, so check the product page on the day you order.

The kilo is also the wrong size for any scent you are not sure about, however attractive the price per gram looks. A slow-selling premium scent in a kilo is ₹8,294.00 or so of stock, the middle of this list, sitting on a shelf for six months or more. In 100 g bottles you pay essentially the same rate and can stop buying the moment the scent stops selling.

Pink Crush Fragrance Oil
A premium fruity profile with an unusual ladder. The 50 g is ₹8.88 a gram, the 100 g ₹8.99, the kilo ₹8.90. The kilo still makes sense for production because it is one bottle rather than twenty, but it is not the cheapest gram on the listing.

Premium kilos you cannot buy today

Nine premium oils list a 1 kg that is out of stock on the pull date: Freshwater (BBW Inspired), Moca Coffee, Into The Night (BBW Inspired), Dahlia (BBW Inspired), Sacred Sandal Ember, Khamrah (Lattafa Inspired), Coffee Blast, Butterfly (BBW Inspired), Ombre Leather (Tom Ford Inspired). For those, production means 500 g where it is in stock (Into The Night (BBW Inspired), Sacred Sandal Ember, Butterfly (BBW Inspired)), or 100 g bottles, or waiting. Seven oils in the collection have no size in stock at all. Do not schedule a production run on a kilo that is out of stock. Message CSI on WhatsApp for a restock date and plan around the answer.

The kilo that was never coming. A maker builds a festive gift box around a premium oil, launches pre-orders, and then finds the kilo is out of stock and the 100 g is limited. Fix the order of operations: check the production size is in stock, confirm the quantity on WhatsApp, buy it, then take orders. The kilo in the basket is worth more than the kilo on the listing.
The CSI principle
The kilo is a stock decision, not a discount.
For most premium oils a kilo costs what ten 100 g bottles cost. Buy it for proven scents you will use within about three months, check whether a smaller size is cheaper per gram, and confirm the stock before you promise candles to anyone.
Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, and the November–February wedding season follows it. If a premium scent is already selling 20 or more candles a month, this is the season to hold it by the kilo. Send your kilos for a stock check and quote. GST invoicing and IFRA documentation can come with it.

A two-kilo production order

Here is a production order for two proven scents, one kilo each: Spicy Cinnamon and Pink Crush. Two kilos pour 125 candles of 200 g at 8%, and we plan 124 to leave a little for pour loss. That is thinner than the 3–5% we usually suggest as a working assumption, so top up with a 100 g if your loss runs higher. Wax: 124 × 184 g is 22.816 kg, so five 5 kg packs of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks (25 kg), which cost ₹599.00 a kilo against ₹599.90 in the 10 kg. Jars: 25 packs of White Matte Glass Jars (125). Wicks: 13 packs of 10 Cotton Braided (130).

Oils and wax pulled 24 September 2026 · wicks 25 September 2026 · jar verified 10 September 2026
Two premium kilos, 124 candles
Item Quantity Price
Spicy Cinnamon 1 kg ₹6,499.00
Pink Crush 1 kg ₹8,899.00
Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 5 × 5 kg = 25 kg ₹14,975.00
White Matte Glass Jar 25 × pack of 5 = 125 ₹8,850.00
Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made 13 × pack of 10 = 130 ₹1,560.00
Total ₹40,783.00

That is ₹40,783.00, or ₹328.90 a candle across 124 candles, before labour, packaging, freight and GST. The spare wax (2.18 kg), one jar and six wicks cover test burns. The Cotton Braided 100-pack plus three 10-packs would cost the same ₹12.00 per wick. For a larger run, bulk premium oils for luxury manufacturers scales the same maths to 1,000 candles. For the soy and container versions of the kilo decision, see buying 1 kg fragrance oil for soy candle making and 1 kg fragrance oil for container candle production.

Buy the kilo for the scent that is already selling. Everything else can wait in 100 g.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A page about kilos is where a supplier would naturally say the kilo is the smart buy. On our premium listings it mostly is not cheaper. Some kilos are fractionally dearer, and two are beaten by our own 500 g packs. This page says so, and gives a rule for when the kilo is still right.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026, including the stock status of each 1 kg. Wick prices are from the 25 September 2026 pull, and the White Matte Glass Jar price is the one verified for Blog 760 on 10 September 2026. Savings, candles per kilo and months of cover are plain arithmetic on those prices.

The three-month rule is our working rule of thumb, not a shelf-life figure. Storage life is not in our data, so ask about each oil. The 200 g candle and 8% load are comparison figures. For kilo stock, restock dates, GST invoicing, MSDS and IFRA documentation, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Is it worth buying fragrance oil in 1 kg?

How long does fragrance oil last once opened?
Shelf life is not published in our data, so ask CSI on WhatsApp for guidance on the specific oil. As general practice, keep oils sealed, cool and out of light, label them with the date received, and keep a retained sample to compare new stock against.
Can I buy premium fragrance oil in more than 1 kg?
The listed packs stop at 1 kg per oil. For several kilos of one oil, message CSI on WhatsApp for a quote and a stock check. The store shows whether a size is in stock, not how many units.

Non-price figures and assumptions: "Premium" = in-stock 1 kg at ₹6.50 a gram or more (Spicy Cinnamon and Forever Red at ₹6,499.00 are discussed separately). Kilo saving = 1 − (1 kg ₹/g ÷ 100 g ₹/g). Candles per kilo = 1,000 g ÷ (200 g × load). Months of cover = 1,000 g ÷ (candles per month × 16 g). The three-month rule is a working rule of thumb. Storage life is not in the data. Collection-wide statistics (24 of 91 oils saving 5% or more) are from the same pull. Fragrance-load ceilings of up to 13% (Luxury Soy Wax Chunks) and up to 10% (CSI 464) are the wax makers' stated formulation maximums, not regulatory limits. No ceiling is quoted in this series for Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468, Coconut Wax or Soy Butter Wax, so 6–10% is used only as a labelled test range for those waxes. Material cost excludes labour, packaging, freight and GST. Prices and availability change, and the linked product pages are always authoritative.
