CSI Collection Buying · Wellness-Inspired
Wellness-inspired is a mood you build with scent and design, not a benefit you can promise. Here is how to position it in India, label fragrance oil honestly, avoid the words that cause trouble, and which five CSI oils carry the story on their own.
₹1,645.30
five nature-linked oils × 50 g — Lemongrass and Lime, Eucalyptus Spearmint, Gilli Mitti, Vetiver, Palo Santo · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What is a wellness-inspired candle? A positioning, not a product type: a scented candle presented around self-care, rest, rituals and nature, usually with herbal, green, earthy and woody scents and a calm, natural-looking design. The "inspired" matters. The candle borrows the mood of wellness; it does not deliver a wellness outcome, and it should never be sold as if it does.

Can I say my candle is made with essential oils? Not if you use fragrance oils. CSI sells fragrance oils: blended scent materials made for candles. They are not essential oils. Label them as "fragrance oil", and do not borrow essential-oil or Ayurvedic language to make the candle sound more natural or more effective.

Which CSI oils fit a wellness-inspired range in India? Lemongrass and Lime, Eucalyptus Spearmint, Gilli Mitti (rain on dry earth), Vetiver and Palo Santo. They draw on scents Indian customers already connect with nature and ritual. 50 g of each is ₹1,645.30.

Which claims should I avoid? Anything about what the candle does to the body, the mind or the air: sleep, stress, anxiety, detox, purifying, immunity, "chemical-free", "Ayurvedic". Describe the scent and the moment instead.
The short answer
The positioning: wellness-inspired means nature, ritual and rest as a mood, expressed through scent and design, not through claims.
The ingredient rule: fragrance oil is fragrance oil. Name it honestly on the label and in listings.
The oils: Lemongrass and Lime, Eucalyptus Spearmint, Gilli Mitti, Vetiver, Palo Santo: ₹1,645.30 at 50 g.
The claims: no health, air-quality, "natural", "Ayurvedic" or "essential oil" claims you cannot support.
Anatomy of an honest wellness candle label A worked example for a Gilli Mitti candle. Left: the label. Right: what each zone may and may not say. MONSOON EARTH 1 Zone 1 SAY: Name the scent or the moment NOT: An effect ("Sleep", "Detox") or a real brand Rain on dry soil · soft patchouli damp woods · light musk 2 Zone 2 SAY: Notes as the oil page states them NOT: Benefits, outcomes, "for your wellbeing" Soy wax candle Net quantity 120 g 3 Zone 3 SAY: Wax type and net quantity NOT: "Chemical-free", "100% natural" without proof Ingredients: soy wax, fragrance oil, cotton wick 4 Zone 4 SAY: "Fragrance oil", named as fragrance oil NOT: "Essential oils" unless that is literally true Burn within sight. Trim wick. Keep from children and pets. 5 Zone 5 SAY: Plain, generic burn-safety text NOT: "Clean-burning", "safe for everyone" Made by Your Brand, City MRP · Mfd month/year · care contact 6 Zone 6 SAY: Packaged-goods declarations that apply NOT: Leaving them off because the label is small Illustrative layout, not legal advice. Check current packaged-goods labelling rules for your product and channel.
A wellness candle label that sells the mood without a single claim. Every line either describes the scent, states what is in the jar, or gives the facts a buyer is owed. Nothing on it tells the buyer what the candle will do to them.
Straight answer
I want to sell wellness-style candles in India. Which fragrance oils fit, and how do I position them without making claims I cannot back up?
Position the range on mood, nature and ritual, not on outcomes. Build it from scents Indian customers already connect with those ideas: lemongrass from the kitchen garden (Lemongrass and Lime), steam and cool air (Eucalyptus Spearmint), the first monsoon rain on dry soil (Gilli Mitti), khus-like earthiness (Vetiver) and soft resinous wood (Palo Santo). 50 g of each costs ₹1,645.30; all five pages state a candle load up to 10%, and all five are in stock except the Vetiver 1 kg, which is out of stock on 24 September 2026. On the label, call the scent material "fragrance oil", describe the notes the oil page states, and give the packaged-goods facts. Leave out essential-oil language, "Ayurvedic", "detox", "purifying", "chemical-free" and any promise about sleep, stress or health. The mood sells; the claim only creates risk.
One line: wellness-inspired is a story told through scent and design; tell it with real notes, honest ingredients and no promises, and it will survive any scrutiny.
The most Indian scent in the range. Gilli Mitti 50 g is ₹448.00 (₹8.96 per gram), four 150 g candles at 8%. The page describes "fresh rain, soft soil, natural patchouli, damp woods, and light musk" and states "The recommended fragrance load is 6-10% for candles."

What "wellness-inspired" means in Indian candle retail

Wellness is the word on the shelf. Scent and design are what the customer actually buys.

Walk through any Indian lifestyle store, gifting catalogue or Instagram shop and you will see candles sold under words like self-care, ritual, rest, balance and slow living. That is the wellness-inspired space. It is a presentation: earthy or green colours, amber or frosted glass, plain typography, herbal and woody scents, copy about mornings, evenings and small rituals. For a candle maker it is attractive because customers in this space often buy as gifts and pay for design. It is risky because the vocabulary of wellness sits right next to the vocabulary of health, and one careless word turns a candle into an unsupported health claim.

We do not have market-size data for wellness candles in India and will not invent any. What we can describe is where these candles are typically bought and what each buyer expects. That tells you how to position and what to avoid.

Who buys wellness-inspired candles, and what they expect · editorial judgement
Typical Indian channels and the positioning that suits each
Buyer What they are buying Positioning that fits Watch out for
Self-gifting and home buyers A small ritual for the home Scent and moment: "for the first cup of tea", "for monsoon evenings" Copy that drifts into promises about sleep or stress
Corporate wellness gifting A tasteful, safe gift for staff or clients Nature and calm design; one or two broadly liked scents Anything a compliance team might read as a health claim
Yoga and pilates studios (see Fragrance Oils for Yoga-Inspired Candles) Atmosphere for classes and retail shelves Soft, earthy or fresh scents; studio-branded labels Heavy throw in small studios; claims about practice or breath
Boutique salons, homestays, cafés A signature room scent and a retail add-on Their own name, your scent description Using a real spa's or hotel's name to describe the scent

Two things follow. First, the scent must carry the story on its own, because you are not allowed to carry it with claims. That is why the oils below are chosen for recognisable, nature-linked character rather than for an abstract "wellness" label. Second, the range design (morning, evening and focus candles, and how they sit together) is a separate job, covered in Fragrance Oils for Wellness Candle Collections. This page stays with positioning, labelling and the oils that fit.

Argued against our own interest: the easiest way to sell a "wellness" candle quickly is to borrow words that imply a benefit. We would rather you sold fewer candles for longer. Marketplaces, corporate buyers and customers are increasingly alert to unsupported claims, and a range built on honest scent descriptions does not need rewriting when someone looks closely.

Fragrance oil is not essential oil: labelling honestly

This is the single most important distinction in wellness candle copy, and the one most often blurred. Every oil on this page, and every oil CSI sells for candles, is a fragrance oil.

Fragrance oil and essential oil, side by side
What each is, and what that means for your label
Fragrance oil (what CSI sells) Essential oil
What it is A blended scent material designed for products such as candles A concentrated extract from a single plant
How it is described on CSI pages By notes, e.g. "zesty lime and fresh lemongrass top notes" Not applicable: CSI does not sell essential oils for candles
What you can say on a label "Fragrance oil"; the scent notes; "scented with lemongrass and lime fragrance oil" Only if you actually used it, and only as an ingredient
What you should not imply That it is an essential oil, a plant extract, Ayurvedic, or that it has any effect on the body Health effects, even if you used it: a candle is still a candle
Documents MSDS and IFRA documentation on request from CSI on WhatsApp From your essential-oil supplier

What the product pages say, and how to quote them

Several CSI oil pages use compliance wording: Lemongrass and Lime's page calls it "A bright, IFRA-certified lime and lemongrass fragrance oil"; Eucalyptus Spearmint's, "A refreshing, IFRA-certified eucalyptus spearmint fragrance oil"; Gilli Mitti's, "A rich, earthy IFRA-certified fragrance oil"; Vetiver's, "A deeply earthy, IFRA-certified vetiver fragrance oil". Palo Santo's page does not use that wording. If compliance language matters to a buyer, quote it as the supplier's page wording and ask us for the documentation on WhatsApp; do not turn it into your own certification claim, and do not use it to imply a health benefit. It is a statement about fragrance use standards, not about wellbeing.

"Natural" and "soy"

Soy wax is a plant-derived wax, which is why wellness brands like it, but a soy candle with fragrance oil is not an all-natural product and should not be called one. "Hand-poured soy wax candle, scented with fragrance oil" is accurate, attractive and safe. "100% natural" and "chemical-free" are none of those things.

A one-line ingredients panel
"Soy wax, fragrance oil, cotton wick." If you add a dye, add "candle dye". That is the whole list for most wellness candles, and its plainness is part of the appeal.

Wellness words to avoid, and what to say instead

Every word below is common on wellness candle labels. None of them is yours to use.

The general rule for any relaxing or calming candle (describe the scent and the moment, never promise an effect) is set out with a claims ladder and a word bank in Relaxing Fragrance Oils for Candle Making. Wellness positioning in India brings its own extra vocabulary, much of it borrowed from Ayurveda, aromatherapy and "clean beauty". Here is how to handle it.

Wellness vocabulary · avoid, and why
Editorial guidance, not legal advice
Word or phrase Why to avoid it on a fragrance-oil candle Say instead
"Ayurvedic" / "Ayurveda-inspired" Ayurveda is a system of medicine in India with its own regulated products; a scented candle is not one of them "Inspired by the Indian kitchen garden" (if the scent is lemongrass)
"Aromatherapy candle" Implies essential oils used for an effect on the body "A lemongrass-scented soy candle"
"Essential-oil blend" Untrue for fragrance oils "Scented with fragrance oil"
"Detox", "purifying", "cleanses the air" Air-quality and body claims you cannot support; burning anything adds to the air rather than cleaning it "Fresh, green and airy"
"Immunity", "respiratory", "breathe easy" Health claims; especially tempting with eucalyptus "Cool eucalyptus and spearmint, like a steam room"
"Chemical-free", "100% natural" Every material is a chemical; fragrance oils are not natural extracts "Hand-poured soy wax candle"
"Grounding", "balancing", "chakra" Effect claims about mind or energy "Earthy, woody, low and steady" (a scent description)
"Mosquito" or "insect" anything CSI's Citronella page makes no such claim and neither should you "Lemon, lemongrass and green herbs over wood"

A note on page wording: some oil pages use words like "grounding" to describe a scent (Vetiver's page says "smoky, woody, and grounding with subtle green and sweet undertones"). As a description of how a scent smells, heavy and low, that is fine to quote. As a promise about what the candle will do for the buyer, it is not. Context decides.

Where the line sits legally depends on your product, channel and wording, and on current rules. In India, claims that a product treats or prevents a condition can bring it within drug and advertising law (the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954 is the usual reference point), and advertising is expected to follow the ASCI code; packaged goods also carry labelling declarations under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules. We are a raw-material supplier, not lawyers. Treat this page as editorial guidance and take professional advice before you sell at scale.

Mistake: writing "Eucalyptus for easy breathing" because eucalyptus is associated with steam and colds. Fix: describe the scent, not the association with illness: "Cool eucalyptus and spearmint, bright as a steam room." The customer makes their own associations; your copy stays a description.

Five CSI oils that fit a wellness-inspired range

Chosen for recognisable, nature-linked character that carries a wellness story without claims, with an Indian point of reference for each. All five pages state a candle load up to 10%. Ranking is on how directly the stated notes express a nature or ritual idea, stated load, price per gram and stock depth; we have no throw data. Candle counts assume 150 g at 8%. The broader spa shortlist is in Buy Spa Fragrance Oils for Candle Making in India; these five lean more earthy and Indian.

1
citrus herbal · kitchen-garden fresh
Lemongrass and Lime
Lemongrass is a scent many Indian customers know from tea, cooking and gardens, which makes a wellness story easy to tell without a claim: "the kitchen garden after rain". Stated notes: "zesty lime and fresh lemongrass top notes, light ginger and herbal middle notes, and subtle cedarwood and soft musk base". The page states "Recommended fragrance load 6-10% for candles". The light ginger is the closest any fresh oil in the range comes to a ginger note (Pumpkin Spice also lists ginger, but in a spiced gourmand). Limitation: at 50 g it is ₹6.60 per gram, well above Eucalyptus Spearmint's ₹4.25, falling to ₹5.20 at 500 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹116.52 ₹7.77 1
50 gm ₹330.00 ₹6.60 4
100 gm ₹590.00 ₹5.90 8
500 gm ₹2,600.00 ₹5.20 41
1000 gm ₹5,200.00 ₹5.20 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹79.20 at 50 g, ₹62.40 at 500 g. Buy Lemongrass and Lime
2
cool aromatic · steam and cool air
Eucalyptus Spearmint Fragrance Oil
Eucalyptus is the scent most people connect with steam rooms and cool mornings, and the one most often mis-sold with breathing claims. Sell the scent: the page describes it as "combining crisp eucalyptus with cool spearmint" and states "Recommended fragrance load up to 10% for soy wax, up to 6% for paraffin". It is the least expensive oil on this list at every size, and the cheapest per gram at 1 kg. Limitation: a two-note accord with no stated base; it can read sharp at the top of its range in a small room.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹68.44 ₹4.56 1
50 gm ₹212.40 ₹4.25 4
100 gm ₹354.00 ₹3.54 8
500 gm ₹1,652.00 ₹3.30 41
1 kg ₹3,068.00 ₹3.07 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹50.98 at 50 g, ₹36.82 at 1 kg. Buy Eucalyptus Spearmint
3
earthy petrichor · the monsoon signature
Gilli Mitti (Patchouli)
Gilli Mitti ("wet earth") is the most distinctly Indian scent on this page: "fresh rain, soft soil, natural patchouli, damp woods, and light musk. Evokes petrichor - the scent of rain on dry earth." The page states "The recommended fragrance load is 6-10% for candles" and calls it "A rich, earthy IFRA-certified fragrance oil" (page wording). A customer review on its page calls it "amazing and authentic". For a wellness range it is the story-teller: nature, season and memory in one scent. Limitation: from 50 g up it is the priciest oil here, flat at ₹8.96 per gram from 50 g to 1 kg, 2.1 times Eucalyptus Spearmint per gram at 50 g.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹140.00 ₹9.33 1
50 gm ₹448.00 ₹8.96 4
100 gm ₹896.00 ₹8.96 8
500 gm ₹4,480.00 ₹8.96 41
1 kg ₹8,960.00 ₹8.96 83
Oil per 8% candle at any size from 50 g: ₹107.52. Buy Gilli Mitti
4
earthy woody · the khus note
Vetiver Fragrance Oil
Vetiver is khus: the root behind summer coolers, khus curtains and sherbet, familiar across India. The page describes it as "smoky, woody, and grounding with subtle green and sweet undertones", states "Up to 10% for soy wax candles ... Up to 6% for paraffin wax candles" and calls it "A deeply earthy, IFRA-certified vetiver fragrance oil" (page wording). Limitation: stock and price. The 1 kg is out of stock on 24 September 2026, so do not plan production around it without asking; and the 15 g is 77% dearer per gram than the 50 g. The smoke reads more "evening ritual" than "fresh".
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹187.62 ₹12.51 1
50 gm ₹354.00 ₹7.08 4
100 gm ₹600.00 ₹6.00 8
500 gm ₹2,900.00 ₹5.80 41
1 kg ₹5,664.00 — Out of stock on 24 September 2026 ₹5.66 Out of stock
Oil per 8% candle: ₹84.96 at 50 g, ₹69.60 at 500 g. 1 kg out of stock on 24 September 2026. Buy Vetiver
5
woody resinous · the ritual candle
Palo Santo Fragrance Oil
Palo santo is a wood associated with ritual and quiet rooms, and it gives a wellness range its soft, resinous evening candle. Stated notes: "Earthy palo santo with soft citrus, warm amber, and a touch of incense"; stated load "Up to 10% for soy wax Up to 6% for paraffin wax". The soft citrus keeps it from reading heavy. Limitation: its page carries no IFRA wording, so ask for documents on WhatsApp if a buyer needs them; and its price is flat per gram from 50 g to 1 kg, so bulk buys it no discount. Meditation-candle use of palo santo is covered in Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candles.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹106.20 ₹7.08 1
50 gm ₹300.90 ₹6.02 4
100 gm ₹601.80 ₹6.02 8
500 gm ₹3,009.00 ₹6.02 41
1 kg ₹6,018.00 ₹6.02 83
Oil per 8% candle at any size from 50 g: ₹72.22. Buy Palo Santo
Only two? Lemongrass and Lime for the fresh morning story and Gilli Mitti for the monsoon-earth story: ₹778.00. The five-oil set is ₹1,645.30, an average of ₹6.58 per gram.

Taking one wellness candle from oil to shelf

Seven steps, and only two of them involve wax.

Positioning is decided before you pour and checked again before you print. This sequence takes one oil, say Gilli Mitti, from bottle to a label you are comfortable defending. The full dated launch plan for a spa or wellness collection, with reorder triggers, is in I Want to Launch a Spa Candle Collection — Which 5–10 Fragrances Should I Test Before Buying in Bulk?.

1
Read the oil page and copy its notes exactlyWrite down the stated notes, stated candle load and any compliance wording verbatim. For Gilli Mitti: "fresh rain, soft soil, natural patchouli, damp woods, and light musk"; "6-10% for candles". Everything on your label should trace back to this or to your own tests.
2
Ask for documents before you designRequest MSDS and IFRA documentation on WhatsApp for every oil in the range. Corporate and studio buyers may ask for them, and you want them on file before the first order, not after.
3
Test three loads in the room size you are selling forPour 6%, 8% and 10% in your chosen wax and jar; in a 120 g jar that is 7.2 g, 9.6 g and 12 g of oil. Cure together (at least 48–72 hours is common practice, longer for soy; sniff at day 3 and day 7). Keep the lowest load that reads clearly at one hour. Wellness candles are often burned in small rooms, where less is more.
4
Write the name and scent line from the notesName the scent or the moment ("Monsoon Earth", "Kitchen Garden", "Steam Room"). Write the scent line from the stated notes. No effect words.
5
Run every line through the avoid listCheck the name, scent line, listing and social captions against the table above. Remove anything about sleep, stress, breathing, detox, purification, immunity, "natural" or "Ayurvedic".
6
Complete the labelIngredients ("soy wax, fragrance oil, cotton wick"), net quantity, generic burn-safety text, maker details and the packaged-goods declarations that apply to you. Have it checked if you are selling at scale.
7
Pilot a small batch before you scalePour a first small batch of the oils that passed at their chosen load (budget jars and wax beyond the test basket below), sell or gift it, ask buyers what they would call the scent, and reorder only the oils whose descriptions match your label. Then buy 500 g.
Keep a claims file
For each product, keep one page: the oil page wording you quoted, the date you checked it, your test results and your label text. If a marketplace or corporate buyer ever questions a line, you can show where it came from in a minute.

Cost per candle and a pilot order

Wellness ranges often use smaller amber or apothecary-style jars. The Amber Shiny Glass Jar with Black Lid lists a capacity of 120 gm and costs ₹236.00 for a pack of 5 (₹47.20 each). A 120 g candle at 8% holds 9.6 g of oil and 110.4 g of wax. We price it in Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (₹0.51 per gram at 1 kg; stated up to 10%, melt and pour 80–90°C), whose 10% ceiling matches every oil here.

One 120 g wellness candle · worked examples
CSI 464, amber jar with black lid, C1 wick, 8% load, 50 g oil prices · excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST
Oil Oil (9.6 g) Wax (110.4 g) Jar Wick Materials
Eucalyptus Spearmint ₹40.78 ₹56.02 ₹47.20 ₹5.90 ₹149.90
Lemongrass and Lime ₹63.36 ₹56.02 ₹47.20 ₹5.90 ₹172.48
Gilli Mitti ₹86.02 ₹56.02 ₹47.20 ₹5.90 ₹195.13

The spread between the cheapest and dearest oil here is ₹45.24 per candle: a real difference, but smaller than most buyers expect, because the jar and wax cost more than the oil in a small candle. At the 500 g oil price, the Lemongrass and Lime candle drops to ₹159.04. The C1 wick is a starting point only; run a melt-pool test in the actual jar and see the Candle Wicks collection if it falls short.

Everything for 20 test candles (three loads plus a confirmation candle per oil): ₹4,329.50 (₹216.47 per candle)
Item Size Price Note

We sell 1 kg bottles; for a wellness pilot, don't buy them. Gilli Mitti and Palo Santo are flat-priced per gram, so a kilogram saves nothing, and Vetiver's kilogram is out of stock anyway. The oils where bulk genuinely pays, and by how much, are set out in Spa Fragrance Oils Wholesale in India; bulk batch maths for 250 to 1,000 units is in Bulk Spa Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers.

Gaps in the range

Indian wellness positioning often reaches for tulsi, neem, standalone ginger, turmeric or rose-and-sandal "ritual" blends. On 24 September 2026 CSI lists no tulsi, neem, turmeric or standalone ginger oil; among fresh oils, ginger appears only as a "light ginger" middle note in Lemongrass and Lime (Pumpkin Spice lists it too, in a spiced gourmand). Sacred Sandal Ember (incense smoke, creamy sandalwood, warm resins) would suit a ritual candle, but only its 500 g is in stock on that date (₹3,999.00); the 100 g and 1 kg are out of stock, and its page states no candle load, so it is not a first-order buy. Mogra is out of stock. If one of these is central to your concept, ask us on WhatsApp before you design the range.

Citronella Fragrance Oil is sometimes marketed elsewhere with insect claims; CSI's page makes none and you should make none. As a scent it is lemon, lemongrass and green herbs over wood. Note its pricing if you use it: the 50 g (₹383.50, ₹7.67/g) is 2.7 times the 1 kg price per gram (₹2.89/g).

If your wellness brand extends beyond candles into room diffusers, CSI lists diffuser bases such as the CSI Ultrasonic Diffusion Concentrate Base (₹1,649.00); the same honesty rules apply to diffuser copy.

Corporate wellness gifting: Diwali falls on 8 November 2026 and Christmas on 25 December 2026, two major gifting dates for calm, neutral-scented candles. Run your pilot in October, then take 500 g of the winners: Lemongrass and Lime 500 g is ₹2,600.00, Eucalyptus Spearmint 500 g ₹1,652.00, 41 candles of 150 g each at 8%. Ask us for a quote with GST invoice and documents on WhatsApp.

The CSI principle
Borrow the mood of wellness, never its promises.
Rain on dry earth, lemongrass in the garden, steam and cool air: those are stories a scent can tell on its own. The moment you need a claim to sell the candle, the scent is not doing its job.
"Write 'fragrance oil' on the label with pride. It is what makes your candle smell the way it does, and it is the truth."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the oils, wax, jars and wicks on this page and does not sell finished candles or essential oils. This page tells you not to use the benefit words many wellness-candle sellers lean on, not to call our oils essential oils, not to plan around a Vetiver kilogram we cannot supply today, and not to buy 1 kg of oils that are flat-priced per gram.

Every price, pack size and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026; out-of-stock sizes (Vetiver 1 kg, Sacred Sandal Ember 100 g and 1 kg, Mogra) are flagged as such. Notes, loads and IFRA wording are quoted from product pages; Palo Santo's page carries no IFRA wording and we say so.

The buyer table, the avoid list, the label anatomy and the launch sequence are editorial judgement, not legal advice; CSI has no market-size or wellbeing data. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell a wellness candle made with fragrance oil in India?
Yes. Position it on scent, mood and design, label the scent material honestly as fragrance oil, include the packaged-goods declarations that apply, and make no health, air-quality or "essential oil" claims. Take professional advice on labelling if you sell at scale.
Is fragrance oil the same as essential oil for candles?
No. Fragrance oil is a blended scent material made for products such as candles; essential oil is a concentrated extract from a single plant. CSI sells fragrance oils for candles. Do not describe a fragrance-oil candle as an essential-oil or aromatherapy product.
Can I call my candle Ayurvedic?
We would not. Ayurveda is a system of medicine in India with its own regulated products, and a scented candle made with fragrance oil is not one of them. Describe the scent and its Indian references instead, for example "lemongrass from the kitchen garden".
Which fragrance oils are best for wellness candles in India?
Scents with clear nature or ritual references work best: Lemongrass and Lime, Eucalyptus Spearmint, Gilli Mitti (petrichor), Vetiver (khus) and Palo Santo. 50 g of each is ₹1,645.30 at CSI; all five state a candle load up to 10%.
Can I say my eucalyptus candle helps with breathing?
No. That is a health claim a candle cannot support. Describe the scent instead: "cool eucalyptus and spearmint, bright as a steam room." Let the customer make their own associations.
What should a wellness candle label include?
Scent name, a scent line from the oil's stated notes, wax type and net quantity, ingredients ("soy wax, fragrance oil, cotton wick"), generic burn-safety text, and your business details with the packaged-goods declarations that apply. Leave out effect, "natural", "detox" and "Ayurvedic" claims.
