What are the best fragrance oils for a luxury candle collection?
For a luxury collection, choose oils from the Luxury tier — over ₹9.00 a gram at the 1 kg listing — but only those your selling price can carry. Work backwards. Decide the price, decide what share of it materials may take (we use 25% as a working assumption), subtract wax, wick and jar (₹184.52 for a 200 g candle at 10%), and divide by 20 g of oil. A ₹1,999.00 candle can then carry oil up to ₹15.76 a gram; a ₹2,499.00 candle up to ₹22.01. On 24 September 2026, 18 CSI oils in the Luxury tier had stock. A balanced four is Santal Noir, Tangerine, Khamrah Qahwa and Delina (Parfums De Marly Inspired), averaging ₹240.95 of oil per candle at 10% and fitting under the ₹1,999.00 line. Two cautions: many luxury oils were in stock only at 50 g or 100 g, so plan in small batches; and a higher price does not guarantee better throw, so test every oil in your own wax.
One line: start from the price, work back to the gram, and only then choose the oil.
Santal Noir from ₹166.00 for 15 g is one of only three Luxury-tier oils with a 15 g tester in stock, so it is the cheapest way to try a luxury wood. At a 10% load it puts ₹183.80 of oil into a 200 g candle at 100 g prices.

In this cluster's price bands, the Luxury tier is every oil priced over ₹9.00 a gram at its 1 kg listing. Most are oils modelled on well-known perfumes, sold under the store's own titles in the Fine Perfume Fragrances and BBW Inspired collections. The spread inside the tier is large: from ₹9.08 to ₹24.06 a gram, almost threefold. At a 10% load in a 200 g candle that is the difference between about ₹180 and ₹480 of fragrance. So "luxury" is not one cost level, and the collection has to be chosen with the price in mind. Material cost figures on this page exclude labour, packaging, freight and GST.

Oils modelled on well-known perfumes are listed under titles such as "Delina (Parfums De Marly Inspired)". Those are CSI's product names, used here as they appear on the store. Reverse costing turns a selling price into a maximum oil price per gram. It needs one assumption: what share of the selling price the candle's materials may take. We use 25% for illustration; it is a working assumption, not an industry figure, and a brand with expensive packaging may need a lower share. The candle is 200 g at a 10% load: 20 g of oil and 180 g of Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, with an Eco Thin C1 wick and a White Matte Glass Jar. That base costs ₹184.52.

Read it both ways. If your collection will sell at ₹1,499.00, the Luxury tier is mostly out of reach under this assumption: only Santal Noir and Hawas Ice (Rasasi Inspired), at just over ₹9 a gram, fit just under the line, and a Premium-tier oil from Best Fragrance Oils for a Premium Candle Brand may serve you better. At ₹1,999.00 most of the tier opens up. At ₹2,499.00, everything except the Club De Nuit Intense Inspired oil fits. Argued against our own interest, plainly. Our dearest oil, the Club De Nuit Intense Inspired, costs ₹24,056.00 a kilo and puts ₹481.20 of fragrance into a 200 g candle at 10%. Under a 25% materials rule it needs a selling price of about ₹2,662.88 to fit. If your customers will not pay that, it is the wrong oil for your collection, however good it smells. We would rather you knew before buying a kilo.

The signature scent you cannot reorder. A maker launches a luxury collection around a 50 g-only oil, it sells out, and the next restock date is unknown. Choose your signature scent from the oils in stock at 100 g or more, and treat 50 g-only oils as limited editions.
The launch batch
A luxury launch is small: ten 200 g candles per scent at 10%, forty in all. Each scent needs 200 g of oil, and with a 3% working allowance (an assumption) 206 g. How do I price a luxury candle?
Work backwards from the price you want, a materials share you can accept, and your base costs, to a maximum oil price per gram. Then choose oils under that line. At ₹1,999.00 and a 25% materials share, a 200 g candle at 10% can carry oil up to ₹15.76 a gram.
Are perfume-inspired fragrance oils good for luxury candles?
They can be. They are the dearest oils CSI lists, from about ₹9 to ₹24 a gram, and several were in stock only at 50 g or 100 g on the pull date. Name the candle in your own words, and test throw before you commit a collection to one.
What fragrance load is right for a luxury candle?
The lowest load that throws well in your burn tests, up to the wax's stated maximum — 13% for Luxury Soy Wax Chunks, 10% for CSI 464. At luxury prices every 2% of load in a 200 g candle costs roughly ₹36 to ₹96 of oil.
Can I buy luxury fragrance oils in 1 kg?
Some. On 24 September 2026, 10 of the 18 Luxury-tier oils with stock were in stock at 1 kg, including Santal Noir, Tangerine, Khamrah Qahwa and Delina (Parfums De Marly Inspired). Ask on WhatsApp before quoting a large order.
How many scents should a luxury candle collection have?
