Commercial Fragrance · Coconut-Soy Manufacturing
At production scale the unit is not the candle; it is the bag of wax. Plan every run in 10 kg bags of coconut soy, work out the oil each bag needs at your tested load, and the whole order — kilos of oil, bags of wax, wicks, jars — falls out of that one number.
869.6 g
of fragrance oil per 10 kg bag of CSI 468 at an 8% load, making 54 candles of 200 g · 8% is a costing midpoint, not a published ceiling
Quick answers — read this first
How much fragrance oil do I need for 10 kg of coconut soy wax? At 8% of the finished weight, 869.6 g. At 6%, 638.3 g; at 10%, 1,111.1 g. Load is a share of the finished candle, so the oil is not simply 8% of 10 kg (800 g).

How many candles does a 10 kg bag make? At 8%, 10,869.6 g of finished candle, or 54 candles of 200 g with 69.6 g over for tests and pour loss.

What does a 1,000-candle coconut-soy run cost? With four scents at their cheapest listed packs, 20 × 10 kg of CSI 468, 1,000 Eco Thin C1 wicks and 1,000 White Matte jars: ₹2,79,739.20, or ₹279.74 per candle before labour, packaging, freight and GST.

Is there a bulk price beyond the listed packs? Oils are listed up to 1 kg and CSI 468 up to 10 kg bags. Larger quantities are quoted on WhatsApp; no discount figure is published.
The short answer
Per 10 kg bag: 6%: 638.3 g oil, 53.19 candles · 8%: 869.6 g, 54.35 · 10%: 1,111.1 g, 55.56 (200 g candles).
1,000 candles: Oil ₹75,639.20 · CSI 468 ₹1,27,400.00 (20 × 10 kg) · wicks ₹5,900.00 · jars ₹70,800.00 · total ₹2,79,739.20.

The production unit — one 10 kg bag of CSI 468 at an 8% load 10 kg CSI 468 ₹6,370.00 ₹637.00 / kg + 869.6 g oil = 8% of the finished weight, not of the wax 10,869.6 g of candle 54 candles of 200 g + 69.6 g for tests and pour loss At 6%: 638.3 g oil, 53.19 candles · at 10%: 1,111.1 g oil, 55.56 candles A 1,000-candle run at 8% needs 20 bags and 16 kg of oil before allowances. 6–10% is a labelled test range — no coconut-wax ceiling is published in our data. CSI live pricing, 24 Sep 2026.
Load is a percentage of the finished candle, so with 10 kg of wax the oil is 10,000 ÷ 0.92 − 10,000 = 869.6 g, not 800 g. Planning with 800 g under-doses every batch by 69.6 g and leaves the run short of its tested load.
Straight answer
How much fragrance oil and coconut soy wax do I need for bulk candle manufacturing, and what does it cost?
Work from the wax bag. One 10 kg bag of CSI 468 at an 8% load takes 869.6 g of oil and makes 54 candles of 200 g. (Load is a share of the finished weight, so it is not 800 g.) A 1,000-candle run needs 184 kg of wax — 20 bags with a 4% allowance — and 16 kg of oil, or 16.64 kg with the allowance. With four scents at their cheapest listed packs, 1,000 Eco Thin C1 wicks and 1,000 White Matte jars, the run costs ₹2,79,739.20, which is ₹279.74 per candle before labour, packaging, freight and GST. The 8% is a costing midpoint: no fragrance ceiling is published in our data for coconut waxes, so confirm the wax maker's stated maximum on WhatsApp and set your production load from your own tests. Oils are listed to 1 kg; for 4 kg or more of a scent, ask for a quote — no discount figure is published.
One line: one 10 kg bag at 8% = 869.6 g of oil = 54 candles; plan the run in bags, not in candles.
The batch unit for coconut-soy production is the 10 kg bag of CSI 468 at ₹6,370.00 — ₹637.00 a kilo, 2.0% below the 1 kg rate. Twenty bags cover a 1,000-candle run with the allowance.

The 10 kg bag is your batch

Small makers count candles. Manufacturers count bags. The switch is what makes a production order add up.

At production scale, the wax arrives in bags and the bag is what you open, melt and pour. So plan every run from the bag. Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 is listed in 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg; the 5 kg and 10 kg carry the only per-kilo break on this wax, ₹637.00 against ₹650.00. The table shows what one 10 kg bag becomes at the three loads of a standard test ladder.

One 10 kg bag of CSI 468 · load as % of finished weight · 200 g candles
Oil and output per bag at 6%, 8% and 10%
Load Oil per bag Finished weight 200 g candles In practice
6% 638.3 g 10,638.3 g 53.19 53 full candles + 38.3 g
8% 869.6 g 10,869.6 g 54.35 54 full candles + 69.6 g
10% 1,111.1 g 11,111.1 g 55.56 55 full candles + 111.1 g

Two things catch manufacturers out. First, load is a share of the finished weight. If the wax is fixed at 10 kg, the oil is 10,000 ÷ (1 − load) − 10,000. At 8% that is 869.6 g; treating it as 8% of the wax gives 800 g and under-doses every batch. Second, the loads in that table are a labelled test range, not a specification. No fragrance ceiling is published in our data for CSI 468, Premium Coconut Soy Wax or Coconut Wax. Ask for the wax maker's stated maximum on WhatsApp before you fix a production load.

Weigh oil per batch, not per candle
Weighing 16 g into each jar is slow and error-prone at volume. Weigh the whole bag's oil (869.6 g at 8%) into the melted wax, stir, and pour. For partial batches, work from the wax you actually melted: oil = wax × load ÷ (1 − load). A weighing scale at ₹354.00 and a pen thermometer at ₹354.00 are the two tools that make this repeatable.

A bag at 8% makes 54 candles with 69.6 g left, which is roughly the 3–5% you should plan for pour loss and test burns anyway — a working assumption, not a measured figure. If your tests settle at 10%, each bag makes 55 candles and takes 1,111.1 g of oil. The load decision is covered in Best Fragrance Load for Fragrance Oils in Coconut Soy Wax; this page assumes you have made it.

The 800 g mistake. A maker tests at 8%, then scales by adding "8% of the wax" to each 10 kg bag. Every batch is 69.6 g short, the finished load is about 7.4% instead of 8%, and the production candles do not match the approved samples. Work out the oil from the finished weight, write the per-bag figure on the batch sheet, and use it every time.

A 1,000-candle run, costed

Here is a four-scent run of 1,000 candles of 200 g at an 8% costing load, 250 of each scent. The scents are chosen to show production buying: two with a real kilo break (Fallen Leaves at 10.0%, Pumpkin Spice at 10.0%), one with a modest break (Fresh Strawberries at 6.3%) and one close to flat (Japanese Cherry Blossom). Each scent needs 4,000 g of oil, or 4,160 g with a 4% allowance. The pack mix is the cheapest combination of in-stock listed packs of 100 g and above.

250 candles per scent · 16 g oil each · 4% allowance · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Oil for 1,000 coconut-soy candles

Total 1,000 16,000 g 16,640 g ₹75,639.20 ₹75.64

Every scent here needs more than 4 kg, which is past the largest listed pack. The listed route still works — four kilos plus a 500 g or a few 100 g bottles — but this is exactly the point at which to ask for a quote on WhatsApp. No volume discount figure is published, so compare any quote against the listed total above, which is your ceiling. Then the rest of the order:

Bought as 1 kg bags instead, the same 192 kg of wax would cost ₹1,24,800.00, so the 10 kg bags save -₹2,600.00 across the run. The jar line is the second-largest cost after the wax; at 200 packs, ask on WhatsApp whether CSI can quote the jars as a single order. Per-candle figures exclude labour, packaging, freight and GST. The same method at brand-month scale, with a break-even table for kilo packs, is in Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Coconut Soy Candle Brands.

What a load change does to a run

Two percentage points of load look small on a test sheet. Across a thousand candles they are four kilos of oil.

The table holds the run at 1,000 candles of 200 g and changes only the load. Oil is priced at the average 1 kg rate of the four scents (₹4.48 a gram) and wax at the 10 kg rate. No allowance is included here, so the figures are directly comparable.

1,000 × 200 g candles · average 1 kg oil rate of the four scents · CSI 468 at 10 kg rate
The same run at 6%, 8% and 10%
Load Oil Wax Oil cost Wax cost Oil + wax
6% 12.0 kg 188.0 kg ₹53,820.00 ₹1,19,756.00 ₹1,73,576.00
8% 16.0 kg 184.0 kg ₹71,760.00 ₹1,17,208.00 ₹1,88,968.00
10% 20.0 kg 180.0 kg ₹89,700.00 ₹1,14,660.00 ₹2,04,360.00

Each two-point step moves the run by about ₹15,392.00 in oil and wax together, because every gram of oil replaces a gram of cheaper wax. That is why a production load should be the lowest one that passed your burn tests, not the highest the wax might take. It also has to sit under the coconut wax maker's stated maximum, which is not published in our data — confirm it before you commit a run. Which Fragrance Oils Give Strong Hot Throw in Coconut Soy Wax? shows how to test whether 10% actually throws better than 8% in your jar.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. We sell more oil when you pour at 10%. If your side-by-side burns show 8% is enough, pour at 8%: on this run that is 4 kg less oil and about ₹15,392.00 back in your margin. More oil than the candle needs buys cost, not scent.

Running it on the production floor

The maths only holds if the floor follows it. These are the steps that keep a coconut-soy run matching the sample your customer approved.

1
Fix the formula in writingOil, load, wax, wick, jar, pour temperature, cure days — one sheet per scent. The load sits under the coconut wax maker's stated maximum, confirmed on WhatsApp and filed with the sheet.
2
Order from the bag countCandles × 184 g × 1.04 ÷ 10,000 = bags. Candles × 16 g × 1.04 = oil. For 1,000 candles that is 20 bags and 16.64 kg of oil. Check stock on every oil size before you confirm dates.
3
Test one bag firstPour the first bag of each scent, cure it, and burn two candles against your approved sample before melting the rest. A new wax lot or oil lot is a new candle until it passes.
4
Batch by the bagMelt a bag, weigh in 869.6 g of oil at 8% (or your tested figure), stir, pour. Record bag number, oil lot, temperature and date on the batch sheet.
5
Cure and pull samplesCure every batch the same number of days. Pull one or two candles per batch for a burn check before release.
6
Keep the paperwork with the runGST invoices, MSDS and IFRA certificates for each oil, filed with the batch sheets. Corporate and retail buyers ask for them.
The CSI principle
Plan in bags, dose from the finished weight, and pour at the lowest load that passed.
A production run is only as good as its per-batch number. Work out the oil for one 10 kg bag from the finished weight, test it against the approved sample, and repeat it exactly — at the lowest load your burns support, never above the wax maker's stated maximum.

Listed packs or a quote?

The listed catalogue gives a manufacturer something valuable: a known ceiling. On this run, the listed oil total of ₹75,639.20 and the wax total of ₹1,27,400.00 are what you pay if you simply order from the store. Any quote you ask for can be compared line by line against those numbers. Because no volume discount figure is published, do not budget for one; budget at the listed total, and treat anything better as margin.

A useful quote request names every line: each oil and its kilos, the number of 10 kg bags of CSI 468, wick type and count, jar type and count, and the date the materials need to be in your workshop. Ask at the same time for GST invoicing and the MSDS and IFRA certificate for each oil, and ask whether every oil is in stock at the quantity you need. Several oils were missing a size on the pull date, and a production run cannot wait for a restock.

Diwali falls on 8 November 2026. A 1,000-candle festive run needs its wax, oil, cure time and packing before the gifting orders ship. Send us the run — scents, bags, wicks and jars — for one quote with GST invoicing and IFRA documentation.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. A bulk page is where a supplier would encourage the highest load and the biggest order. This one tells you to pour at the lowest load your tests support and to compare any quote against the listed total, because that is what protects a manufacturer's margin.

Every oil and wax price on this page comes from live CSI listings pulled on 24 September 2026. Eco Thin C1 1,000-pack pricing comes from the 25 September 2026 wick pull; jar, scale and thermometer prices were verified on 10 September 2026. Per-bag, per-run and per-candle figures are plain arithmetic, shown to two decimals so you can check them.

The 8% costing load, the 4% allowance and the four-scent split are working assumptions. No fragrance ceiling for coconut waxes is published in our data; the 6–10% range is a labelled test range only. For the wax maker's stated maximum, a production quote, GST invoicing, MSDS or IFRA documentation, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.
