Commercial Fragrance · Buying for Tealights
You are buying fragrance by the gram for a candle that uses about one. The question is which bottle fits how many tealights you will pour. First, plainly: CSI's catalogue had no tealight cups or tealight wicks on 24 September 2026 — this page covers the oil and wax, and routes cups and wicks to WhatsApp.
1,041.7
12 g tealights scented by one 1 kg bottle at an 8% load (0.96 g each) · a 15 g bottle scents 15.6 · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
Can I buy tealight cups and wicks from CSI? They were not in CSI's catalogue on 24 September 2026. We found no tealight cups and no tealight wicks. Ask CSI on WhatsApp whether they can supply before you order oil for a run that depends on them.

Which size of fragrance oil should I buy for tealights? Buy 15 g to test (about 15.6 tealights at 12 g). Move a proven scent to 100 g (about 104.2 tealights), where the tester premium disappears. Go to 500 g or 1 kg when you pour several hundred a month, or when the oil has a real bulk saving.

Is buying bigger cheaper? For some oils. British Rose drops from ₹6.04 of oil per tealight at 15 g to ₹2.95 at 1 kg. For most oils above 100 g the per-gram price is nearly flat. See the bottle ladder.

Is there a minimum order? The store states none. The smallest listed size of each oil — 15 g for 51 oils, 50 g or 100 g for others — is the practical minimum. Volume pricing beyond the listed packs is quoted on WhatsApp; no discount figure is published.
The short answer
Bottle to tealights: At 12 g and 8%: 15 g ≈ 15.6 · 50 g ≈ 52.1 · 100 g ≈ 104.2 · 500 g ≈ 520.8 · 1 kg ≈ 1,041.7 tealights.
Where the saving is: 15 g → 100 g for almost every oil (median 23.1% per-gram premium on the 15 g). Above 100 g only 24 oils show a 1 kg saving of 5% or more — Mango Coconut 20.7%, British Rose 10.3% among them.
Not listed: Tealight cups and tealight wicks: not in CSI's catalogue on the pull date. Ask on WhatsApp.

Which bottle for how many tealights — British Rose, 12 g tealights at 8% (0.96 g oil each) 15.6 tealights 52.1 tealights 104.2 tealights 520.8 tealights 1,041.7 tealights 15 g · ₹94.40 50 g · ₹212.40 100 g · ₹342.20 500 g · ₹1,593.00 1 kg · ₹3,068.00 ₹6.04 oil per tealight ₹4.08 oil per tealight ₹3.29 oil per tealight ₹3.06 oil per tealight ₹2.95 oil per tealight Each step up buys more tealights and, for this oil, a lower rate — British Rose is one of the 24 oils with a real 1 kg saving.
The count on each step is how many illustrative 12 g tealights at 8% the bottle scents, before any allowance for pour loss. The rupee figure under each is the oil inside one tealight at that bottle's per-gram rate. British Rose was chosen because it falls at every step; most oils flatten out from 50 g or 100 g upward.
Straight answer
How should you buy fragrance oil for tealight candle making?
Match the bottle to the tealight count, and sort the parts CSI does not list before you order. No tealight cups or tealight wicks were in CSI's catalogue on 24 September 2026, so ask CSI on WhatsApp whether they can supply them. For the oil, an illustrative 12 g tealight at an 8% load holds 0.96 g. That means a 15 g tester scents about 15.6 tealights, a 100 g about 104.2 and a 1 kg about 1,041.7. Test in 15 g. Once a scent is proven, move it to 100 g at least — the 15 g carries a median 23.1% per-gram premium, and with British Rose that is ₹6.04 of oil per tealight against ₹3.29. Above 100 g most oils are priced almost flat per gram, so buy 500 g or 1 kg for stock security, unless the oil is one of the 24 with a real bulk saving, such as Mango Coconut at 20.7%. There is no stated minimum order beyond the smallest listed size.
One line: a 100 g bottle is about a hundred tealights — buy by count, and sort the cups and wicks on WhatsApp first.
Three value oils for a first tealight line, in the 100 g size where the tester premium has gone: British Rose ₹342.20, Eucalyptus Spearmint ₹354.00 and Mango Coconut ₹500.00 — ₹1,196.20 for about 312 tealights at 12 g. Cups and wicks are not listed; ask on WhatsApp.

The bottle ladder: tealights per pack

Nobody needs a kilo of oil to find out whether they like a scent. Plenty of tealight makers buy one anyway.

CSI sells fragrance oil in up to five sizes: 15 g, 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg. Turning those into tealights is the first thing to do before you buy, because it tells you how long a bottle lasts. We use an illustrative 12 g tealight at an 8% load throughout — 0.96 g of oil and 11.04 g of wax — and a 15 g tealight as the larger case. Neither is a published cup size; weigh your own cup's fill and redo the division. The table uses British Rose, which is in stock at every size and falls in price at every step.

British Rose · 8% load · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026 · before pour-loss allowance
How many tealights each bottle scents
Pack Price Per gram 12 g tealights 15 g tealights Oil per 12 g tealight
15 g ₹94.40 ₹6.29 15.6 12.5 ₹6.04
50 g ₹212.40 ₹4.25 52.1 41.7 ₹4.08
100 g ₹342.20 ₹3.42 104.2 83.3 ₹3.29
500 g ₹1,593.00 ₹3.19 520.8 416.7 ₹3.06
1 kg ₹3,068.00 ₹3.07 1,041.7 833.3 ₹2.95

Two readings matter. The count column tells you the bottle to buy: a maker pouring a hundred tealights a month empties a 100 g bottle in about a month, while a festive run of a thousand needs a kilo. The last column tells you what the size costs you per piece. For British Rose it falls from ₹6.04 to ₹2.95, because this is one of the 24 oils in the collection with a real 1 kg saving (10.3% against the 100 g). Most oils are not like this, and the next section shows what that means.

Allow for loss. Some wax and oil stays in the jug, some tealights fail and some go to test burns. Plan 3–5% extra as a working assumption, so a 100 g bottle is better counted as about 99 to 101 saleable tealights than 104.2. For exact grams at 6% and 10% as well as 8%, see how much fragrance oil to use in tealights.

What the small bottle costs you per tealight

The 15 g tester is the right size for a test and the wrong size for production, and the reason shows up per piece. Across the 55 oils that list both a 15 g and a 100 g, the 15 g carries a median 23.1% premium per gram. The spread is wide, from −0.6% to +123.8%, so it is worth checking the oil you actually want. Here is what the premium looks like inside a tealight for oils suited to a value line:

Oil per 12 g tealight at 8% (0.96 g) · 15 g vs 100 g vs 1 kg rate
The tester premium, counted per tealight
Oil From 15 g From 100 g From 1 kg 15 g premium per tealight
British Rose ₹6.04 ₹3.29 ₹2.95 ₹2.76
Eucalyptus Spearmint ₹4.38 ₹3.40 ₹2.95 ₹0.98
Mango Coconut ₹5.97 ₹4.80 ₹3.81 ₹1.17
Cucumber Green Tea ₹5.97 ₹3.39 ₹3.19 ₹2.58
Orchard Pear ₹6.72 ₹3.65 ₹3.59 ₹3.07
Fresh Strawberries ₹7.25 ₹3.62 ₹3.40 ₹3.62

Per tealight the premium is a couple of rupees at most. That sounds trivial until you multiply it: ₹2.76 on each British Rose tealight is ₹1,378.24 across five hundred. Notice the exception, too. Eucalyptus Spearmint is the cheapest 15 g in the collection at ₹68.44, and its 15 g costs only ₹0.30 more per tealight than its 50 g. If you need a small quantity of a fresh profile, that tester is close to production pricing.

The mistake that looks like thrift. Buying five 15 g bottles instead of one 100 g to "spread the risk" on a proven scent costs more and scents fewer tealights. Five British Rose testers are ₹472.00 for 75 g; one 100 g is ₹342.20. Keep the 15 g for scents you have not tested. For scents you have, the 100 g is the cheaper risk.
Check the smallest size before you plan a test
Fifty-one oils have an in-stock 15 g. Others start at 50 g or 100 g — for example Royal Apricot starts at 50 g for ₹183.00, which is ₹3.66 a gram and already cheaper per gram than most testers. When an oil starts at 50 g, that is its tester, and at 12 g per tealight it scents about 52.1 of them.

A 300-a-month order, priced two ways

Here is the question most small tealight makers are really asking: a hundred-millilitre habit or a five-hundred-gram commitment?

Take a maker pouring 300 tealights a month at 12 g, a hundred each of three value scents: British Rose, Eucalyptus Spearmint and Mango Coconut. Each scent needs 96 g of oil a month, or about 100.8 g with a 5% allowance. The wax is 3,312 g, about 3,478 g with the allowance. There are two sensible ways to buy the oil:

Three scents · 100 tealights each per month · 12 g at 8% · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026
Monthly 100 g bottles or one 500 g of each
Oil 100 g price Oil per tealight (100 g) 500 g price Oil per tealight (500 g) Per-gram saving at 500 g
British Rose ₹342.20 ₹3.29 ₹1,593.00 ₹3.06 6.9%
Eucalyptus Spearmint ₹354.00 ₹3.40 ₹1,652.00 ₹3.17 6.7%
Mango Coconut ₹500.00 ₹4.80 ₹1,982.00 ₹3.81 20.7%
Total ₹1,196.20 ₹5,227.00

Option A is ₹1,196.20 a month. Option B is ₹5,227.00 once, and at about 100.8 g a month each 500 g lasts roughly 5.0 months. Five months of Option A costs ₹5,981.00, so Option B saves ₹754.00 over the same period — almost all of it from Mango Coconut, whose 500 g is 20.7% cheaper per gram than its 100 g. British Rose and Eucalyptus Spearmint save a little; for many other oils the saving would be close to nothing.

Argued against our own interest, plainly. The bigger order is only the better buy if you will actually pour it. Five months is long enough for a tealight range to change, for a festive season to pass or for a scent to stop selling. If you are not sure all three scents will still be in your range by February, buy 100 g monthly and pay the small difference — for British Rose and Eucalyptus Spearmint it is ₹236.00 over five months. Buy the 500 g of Mango Coconut if you believe in it; that one is a real saving.

Wax is simpler. Luxury Soy Wax Chunks are ₹599.00 a kilo at every size from 1 kg to 10 kg, so a 5 kg bag at ₹2,995.00 covers 453 tealights at 11.04 g — more than a month here — without costing more per kilo. CSI 464 is ₹2,537.00 for 5 kg at ₹507.40 a kilo, with a lower 10% ceiling that is still comfortably above 8%. Either way, the first month's order is ₹4,191.20 with Chunks or ₹3,733.20 with CSI 464, oil and wax only. Cups and wicks are extra and, on the pull date, not from CSI.

Which wax to put in the same basket

The wax is the larger share of a tealight by weight, and CSI lists several that can go in a small container. The table prices 11.04 g of each — the wax in a 12 g tealight at 8% — and states the fragrance ceiling only where one is published. Where none is in our data, check the wax's product page or ask on WhatsApp for the maker's stated maximum, and treat 6–10% as a starting range for tests, not a specification.

Wax inside one 12 g tealight at 8% (11.04 g) · CSI live pricing, 24 September 2026

Luxury Soy Wax Chunks 1 kg ₹599.00 · 5 kg ₹2,995.00 ₹599.00 ₹6.61 Up to 13%
Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 1 kg ₹507.40 · 5 kg ₹2,537.00 ₹507.40 ₹5.60 Up to 10%
Natural Soy Pearl Wax 5 kg ₹2,124.00 ₹424.80 ₹4.69 Not in our data — check the product page
Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 1 kg ₹650.00 · 5 kg ₹3,185.00 ₹650.00 / ₹637.00 ₹7.18 Not in our data — check the product page
Fully Refined Paraffin Wax Pellets 1 kg ₹354.00 ₹354.00 ₹3.91 Not in our data — check the product page

Between the dearest and cheapest wax the difference is ₹3.27 a tealight, which is about the same as the difference between a value oil and a premium one. Choose the wax for how it burns in your cup, not for the paise. If you want the published ceiling to plan around, the two soy container waxes are the ones with a number: 13% for the Chunks and 10% for CSI 464. How Much Fragrance Oil Should I Use in Tealight Candles? works the load maths against both, and fragrance oils for paraffin covers paraffin in its own right.

Value oils that suit tealight pricing

Tealights are usually sold in multipacks, so the oil that fits a tealight line is often the oil that fits a low price per piece. Three oils show the three ways a value oil can behave on CSI's price list: one that falls at every size, one that is cheapest at the smallest size, and one whose saving only appears at 500 g.

British Rose Fragrance Oil
Second in the collection's best-selling sort on the pull date. Its per-gram price falls from ₹6.29 at 15 g to ₹3.07 at 1 kg, so it rewards buying up. For a tealight line, a 100 g is the first production size; the 1 kg makes sense once you pour a few hundred a month.

Confirm cups and wicksCSI did not list tealight cups or tealight wicks on the pull date. Ask on WhatsApp whether they can supply them, or confirm your other supplier, before you buy oil for a run.
2
Count tealights, then divideTealights planned × 0.96 g (12 g) or × 1.2 g (15 g) at 8%, plus 3–5%. That is your oil order in grams.
3
Check stock on the size you wantSome sizes are out of stock — for example Vetiver 1 kg and Chocolate Fudge 100 g on the pull date. A price you cannot buy is not a price.
4

5
Buy wax in 5 kg if you pour monthlyLuxury Soy Wax Chunks cost the same per kilo from 1 kg to 10 kg, so 5 kg only saves reorders. Natural Soy Pearl Wax is the exception, ₹450.00 a kilo at 1 kg and ₹424.80 at 5 kg.

The CSI principle
Buy by tealight count, not by bottle size.
Divide the tealights you will pour by the bottle's reach. If the answer is less than one bottle, buy the smaller size; if it is several, check whether the bigger size actually costs less per gram before assuming it does.

If your small-candle line runs to votives as well, the buying logic shifts, because the container is listed and priced: buying oils for votive making builds the full bill and Best Fragrance Oils for Votive Candles pairs oils to each jar. If you are sizing one specific order, I'm Producing 1,000 Scented Tealights — How Much Fragrance Oil Should I Order? answers the thousand-tealight case directly. And if the same scents will go into wax melts, buying fragrance oils for wax melts covers how that changes the bottle size.

Planning Diwali tealights? Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, and festive tealights need to be poured, cured and packed well before that. Send CSI your scents and tealight count on WhatsApp for a quote beyond the listed packs, and ask about cups and wicks in the same message.

Why trust this guide

CANDLEMAKINGSUPPLIESINDIA supplies raw materials, not finished candles. This page is a buying guide from the seller, so it names the cases where a bigger pack does not save you money, shows the five-month order that saves only on one oil, and says plainly that tealight cups and wicks were not in our catalogue on the pull date.

Oil and wax prices are CSI live pricing pulled on 24 September 2026. Scale and thermometer prices are Blog 760's, verified 10 September 2026. Tealights-per-bottle and per-tealight figures are division and multiplication on those prices, shown to two decimals so you can check them.

The 12 g and 15 g tealight fills, the 8% load and the 3–5% allowance are working assumptions, not published specifications. Tealight cups and tealight wicks: not found in the catalogue; not priced.

Non-price figures and assumptions: Tealight fills of 12 g and 15 g are illustrative, not published cup sizes. Oil = fill × load (12 g at 8% = 0.96 g). Tealights per bottle = bottle grams ÷ oil per tealight, before allowance; 3–5% extra for pour loss and test burns is a working assumption. Per-gram statistics: 15 g vs 100 g median premium 23.1% across 55 oils (range −0.6% to +123.8%); 24 of 91 oils show a 1 kg saving of 5% or more against 100 g. The 500 g months-of-stock figure assumes 100.8 g a month per scent. Fragrance-load ceilings: Luxury Soy Wax Chunks up to 13%, CSI 464 up to 10% (wax makers' stated maximums, not regulatory).
