Bulk Indian Luxury Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers

The season, counted backwards from 8 November

For a manufacturer, the Indian festive and wedding season is not one deadline but two very different shapes of work. Diwali is a single hard date, 8 November 2026, and gifting tends to cluster in the fortnight before it; in our judgement, plan on a corporate client wanting boxes a week ahead, and ask yours. The winter wedding months, broadly from after Diwali into February with dates set by families and muhurat calendars that vary by region, are a long run of smaller, fixed-date orders. Christmas (25 December 2026) falls in the middle of them, and Valentine's Day (14 February 2027) at the end.

There is almost no slack. If the pilot order takes longer than five days to arrive, or a scent fails the burn test and has to be replaced, the production pour slips past 22 October and the cure runs into the dispatch week. That is why the pilot uses 100 g bottles of oils that already state a candle load, and why the production order is only placed after the pilot, not with it. If you are reading this after 1 October, cut the run to what you can pour from scents you have already burned.

Batch sheet 1: 600 Diwali gift candles

The worked example: a corporate gifting run of 600 candles, 150 g each, three Indian scents of 200 candles. Sandalwood for the puja-and-tilak association, British Rose for gifting, Dark Vanilla Oud for the evening and for its cardamom, a spice most Indian customers connect with festive sweets. The scent choice is yours; the arithmetic is the same.

Per scent, the materials in one candle are: Sandalwood ₹230.64, British Rose ₹207.14, Dark Vanilla Oud ₹238.61 (oil at the 1 kg price + 138 g of wax at ₹70.02 + jar at ₹94.40 + wick at ₹5.90). The spread between the cheapest and dearest scent is the oil alone, ₹36.82 against ₹68.29. The jars cost ₹56,640.00 of the ₹137,832.00; if your client's budget is tight, the jar is the line to renegotiate, not the fragrance. For all of these, exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST, and add your own gift box and sleeve from the packaging collection or elsewhere.

From kilograms to melts: the production days

A manufacturer thinks in melts, not candles. With a 10 kg melter, one full melt of 9,936 g of wax takes 864 g of oil and fills 72 candles of 150 g at 8%. The 600-candle run is 8.3 melts, so nine, the last one part-full. One customer review of CSI's electric melter describes 10 kg melting in "mere 20-30 minutes"; treat that as one user's experience, and time your own first melt.

Batch sheet 2: 500 wedding favours

Wedding favours are a different product: small, bought in hundreds for one date, usually white-floral. Mogra is the classic gajra flower of many Indian weddings, and CSI's Mogra is out of stock on 24 September 2026, as is Rajnigandha. The worked example uses Jasmine Fragrance Oil, the cheapest white floral per gram with a stated candle load, in a 70 g Clear Glass Votive Jar.

Per favour: 5.6 g of Jasmine (₹21.97 at the 1 kg rate), 64.4 g of wax (₹32.68), one votive (₹31.86) and one wick (₹5.90). Six 500 g bottles (₹11,766.00) cost a few rupees less than three 1 kg bottles (₹11,769.00) and are easier to split across weddings. If the family wants night jasmine instead, Raat Ki Rani puts ₹37.93 of oil into each favour at its 500 g price; the same 3 kg costs ₹20,322.00, ₹8,556.00 more for the run. The wick in a 70 g votive is a different problem from the 150 g jar; pilot it separately.

Four oils with the depth for a season

For a season-length production plan, the test is not "which oil smells most Indian" (that is Traditional Indian Fragrances for Luxury Candles), but which oils state a candle load, are in stock at every size on 24 September 2026, and can be reordered mid-season in 1 kg bottles. These four pass all three tests. Ranked on those criteria, not on sales or throw data, which we do not have.

Stock depth and lead times: what the store can and cannot tell you

CSI's store shows, for each size, whether it can be ordered. It does not show how many units are on the shelf. For a manufacturer buying 2.5 kg of one oil, that difference matters: two 1 kg bottles and a 500 g of Sandalwood may be orderable individually and still not all be available the same day. Before a production order, send the exact list on WhatsApp and ask for three things in writing: quantity confirmed, dispatch date, and a GST invoice. MSDS and IFRA documents can be requested at the same time, which a corporate client's procurement team may ask for.

Lead times. CSI does not publish a delivery time, and it depends on your city, so this page will not invent one. The dated plan above assumes about five working days from order to hand for each order; treat that as a planning assumption, and replace it with the dispatch date CSI gives you. Customers have said the same in reviews at the top of this page: two four-star wick reviews ask for quicker delivery. We would rather you plan with that in mind than discover it in the last week of October. Ask for a dispatch time to your city before the pilot order. What scale does, and does not, do to your cost

It is natural to expect a 600-candle run to cost less per candle than a 100-candle run. At CSI's list prices on 24 September 2026, it barely does. The non-oil materials are flat per unit across pack sizes: CSI 464 is ₹0.51 a gram at 1 kg and ₹0.51 at 10 kg; the 150 g jar is ₹94.40 from a pack of 10 and ₹94.40 from a pack of 20; a C1 wick is ₹5.90 from a pack of 10 and ₹5.90 from a pack of 1,000. That leaves oil as the only line that can move, and only on some oils.

So the case for manufacturing scale at list prices is labour, consistency and speed, not materials. Any materials saving at 600 candles or more has to come from a negotiated quote.
