A romantic gift candle is smelled first by someone who did not choose it.
A candle you sell for someone's own home can be subtle; they chose it. A gift candle is chosen by one person for another, then opened in front of them. The scent has to be legible in seconds — "that's romantic" — with the lid off and the wick unlit. That favours oils whose pages describe a clear, familiar opening (strawberry, peach, jasmine, vanilla) over abstract or smoky ones. Jasmine Fragrance Oil
The white floral that makes the Date Night set work. The page describes it as "sweet, floral, and slightly musky with a timeless luxurious aroma" and states "Recommended load up to 10% soy, up to 6% paraffin". In India jasmine carries its own romantic associations, which helps a gift land. The one review on its CSI page is four stars and enthusiastic — a customer's view, not a CSI test. Limitation: the page describes a single-accord jasmine, not a layered perfume, so on its own it is simple; its job here is to be the clean contrast to Dark Vanilla.

It is the oil that makes a set feel adult rather than sweet. The one review on its CSI page calls it "One of the best fragrance oils". The page describes a scent that "Opens with pomegranate and red cherry - juicy and bold. Turns floral and elegant with jasmine, peony, and soft plum. Settles into creamy vanilla, amber, sandalwood, and light musk", and states it "Performs strongly in soy and paraffin at 8-10%". Limitation: ₹6.98 per gram at 50 g, and the 100 g and 500 g are fractionally dearer per gram than the 50 g; only the 1 kg is cheaper. Because of the naming constraint, it is the oil we would drop first if your brand sells on its own name.

Two honest points. The listings give box dimensions in inches but CSI's jar listings mostly do not give outer dimensions, so we cannot tell you that two 150 g jars fit the 7 x 5 x 4 inch box; measure a jar before you buy fifty boxes. And the crinkle filler that makes a gift box look finished is out of stock in every colour on the day we checked, so ask on WhatsApp or plan with folded tissue instead. For a colour inside a clear jar, Pink Liquid Candle Dye is ₹236.00. A non-candle item often lifts a set: CSI's Candle Lighter Electric comes in Pink and Rose gold among other colours at ₹354.00. Dried decoration items (₹118.00) photograph well on a candle top, but keep anything flammable well away from the wick and remove it before the first burn; say so on the card.

Look at where the money goes in the Date Night duo: oil is ₹153.60, the two pink jars are ₹214.00, and the CSI packaging is only ₹39.72. The vessel is the largest single cost, which is why the pink-versus-clear decision (₹559.16 against ₹533.96) matters more than which of the five oils you choose. The Strawberries and Cream duo in the same packaging costs ₹554.94; add a rose-gold lighter and the Date Night set becomes ₹913.16 in materials, which lets you sell it as a complete gift rather than two candles.
Selling to hamper companies? They usually want a single candle, cheaply, in bulk, with no brand clutter. Packing a set so it arrives as it left
A romantic set is judged on opening. Wax that has sweated, a lid that has scuffed, or a candle that smells of cardboard ruins the moment. Seven steps, in the order we would do them.

Cure before you boxCure every candle for at least 48–72 hours; a week is common practice for soy and fairer to vanilla-heavy oils. None of these five pages states a cure time. Boxing a warm or freshly poured candle traps moisture and scent in the box.

Lids on, then tissueClose each jar, then wrap it in one sheet of tissue (₹6.50). The lid stops the fragrance soaking into the box and anything packed beside it.

Keep candles away from foodIn hampers with chocolates, biscuits or dry fruit, put the wrapped candle in its own compartment or small box. In our judgement, strong fragrance and food in one closed box for days is a risk to the food's taste; do not rely on the recipient opening it quickly.

Fill the gapsMovement breaks glass. Until crinkle filler is back in stock, use folded tissue or a strip of the air-column bubble roll so nothing can shift.

Shake test one boxPack one finished set exactly as you will ship it, shake it firmly, then open it. If anything moved, add filling. Do this once per new box layout.

Label the outside, not just the jarPut the set name and the scents on the outer box. Hamper companies and gift shops need to know what is inside without opening it.

Add the safety sticker and the cardA candle care sticker on the base of each candle, and a short card that names the scents and says to remove decorations before burning. Keep the card about the scent, not about how it will make anyone feel.
Wick check for coloured glass
You cannot see the melt pool as easily through pink or red glass. Burn a test candle in the actual gift jar for two to three hours before a batch, and look from above. The C1 thin wick is a starting point, not a prescription; retest with Thick (C2) or browse the candle wicks collection if the pool does not reach the edge.What to leave out of a romantic gift box
Every item in a gift box has to earn its place. So does every oil.
Perfume-grade "inspired" oils in a gift candle. Several romantic-sounding listings on the store are perfume-grade oils priced between ₹11.95 and ₹17.85 per gram, with 15–25% usage figures on their pages that are perfume rates, not candle loads, and no stated candle load. At two to four times the per-gram cost of Fresh Strawberries or Jasmine, and with a brand name you cannot use on the box anyway, they make a gift set more expensive without making it easier to sell.
Two sweet candles in one duo. Fresh Strawberries with pick 5, or Love Spell with Fresh Strawberries as a pair, gives the recipient the same experience twice. Use echoes only in trios.
Spice-forward oils beside food. Dark Vanilla's "vanilla and spice" opening is lovely in a candle-only set, but in a hamper with chocolates choose Love Spell or Fresh Strawberries instead. Judgement, not a test result.
Oils without a stated candle load, for a first run. Some romantic oils on the store, such as Spicy Raspberry and Solar Bloom Fragrance Oil, have attractive notes but no candle load on their pages. They are not ruled out, but they need more testing inside the wax ceiling, which is time you do not have before a gifting date.

Romantic gift sets sell all year for birthdays and anniversaries, but three dates shape stock: Diwali on 8 November 2026, when couples gift each other alongside family gifting; Christmas on 25 December 2026; and Valentine's Day on 14 February 2027. Which fragrance oils are best for romantic gift candle sets?
At CSI, Jasmine Fragrance Oil and Dark Vanilla make the strongest pair (a bright white floral against caramel, cream and dark amber), with Fresh Strawberries and Love Spell for lighter sets. All state a candle load and were in stock at every size on 24 September 2026.
What two candle scents go well together in a gift set?
Pair one light scent with one deep one. Jasmine with Dark Vanilla, or Fresh Strawberries with Dark Vanilla, are the two strongest pairs from CSI's romantic oils. Avoid two red-fruit candles in the same box; they repeat each other.
How much does it cost to make a romantic candle gift box in India?
Worked example: a duo of 150 g Jasmine and Dark Vanilla candles in pink glass jars, CSI 464 soy wax, C1 wicks, a 7 x 5 x 4 inch corrugated box and two tissue sheets costs ₹559.16 in materials, excluding labour, freight, ribbon, cards and GST.

Can I put scented candles in a hamper with chocolates?
You can, but keep each candle fully cured, lidded, wrapped and in its own compartment. In our judgement a strong fragrance in a closed box with food for several days risks affecting the food's taste; softer oils without spice, such as Love Spell, are the safer hamper choice.
Can I use brand-inspired fragrance oils for gift candles I sell?
CSI sells oils under listing names that reference brands; the oils are CSI's interpretations and CSI is not affiliated with those brands. You can use the oil, but never put the brand's name on your candle, box, set name or listing. Name the scent yourself.
