Buy Meditation Candle Fragrance Oils in India

Is the 15 g sample route cheaper? In cash, yes: ₹2,262.06 for everything. Per answer, no. Each 15 g bottle makes one 150 g candle at 8%, so you learn whether you like an oil, not what load it needs. Route A costs ₹452.41 per test candle; the 50 g route costs ₹259.51.
Should I buy 100 g or 1 kg to save money? Not yet. 100 g of each doubles the spend to ₹10,009.20 and brings the cost per candle down only to ₹250.23. Palo Santo is priced flat per gram from 50 g to 1 kg, so bigger bottles save nothing on it at all.
What is the second order? 500 g of the one or two oils that win your test. Sandalwood and Palo Santo at 500 g together cost ₹5,522.40 and pour 82 candles at 8%.
Three sample routes, costed
Why these five oils make a meditation palette, and what "meditation" should and should not mean on a label, is set out in the hub, Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candles. This page takes the oils as given and answers the buying question: how much of each, in which basket, for how much. The hub's shortlist uses Vetiver and British Rose where this basket uses Woody Oud and Sage and Cedarwood; both versions are sound, and the swaps are priced below. We built this basket around the two oils whose sizing is most interesting for a buyer: Woody Oud, whose price per gram drops sharply at 100 g, and Sage and Cedarwood, whose 1 kg is a trap.
| Route | Oil bought | Oil cost | Basket total | Test candles | Per candle | Answers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A · Smell first | 15 g × 4 + 50 g Sage and Cedarwood | ₹751.66 | ₹2,262.06 | 5 | ₹452.41 | Do I like it burning? Not: which load. |
| B · Three-load test | 50 g × 5 | ₹1,467.70 | ₹5,190.30 | 20 | ₹259.51 | Which oils, at which load, with which wick. |
| C · 100 g of each | 100 g × 5 | ₹2,793.80 | ₹10,009.20 | 40 | ₹250.23 | The same as B, plus 20 candles of oils you may drop. |
Route A spends ₹2,262.06 and gives you five candles, one per oil at 8%. That tells you whether you like each scent burning in a still room, which is useful if you are choosing between ten or more oils. With five, you end up reordering 50 g anyway to find the load, so you pay for two rounds. Note the anomaly: Sage and Cedarwood has no 15 g size, so Route A is forced to buy its 50 g.
Route B costs ₹2,928.24 more than Route A and makes fifteen more candles. Those are the candles that answer the questions that matter for a meditation candle: is 6% enough at sitting distance, does 10% overwhelm a small room, does the wick need to go up a size. It is the route we recommend.
Route C costs ₹4,818.90 more than Route B for a per-candle saving of a few rupees. It is the route people take when they are sure. We sell the 100 g bottles. For a first meditation order, don't buy them: at least one of these five will not make your line, and it will sit in a 100 g bottle on your shelf.
The 20-candle basket, line by line
Twenty candles: five oils at three loads (15 candles) plus one retest per oil at the load that wins (5 more). Each 150 g candle takes 9 g, 12 g or 15 g of oil and 141 g, 138 g or 135 g of wax at 6%, 8% and 10% of total weight, so the fifteen load candles use 180 g of oil and 2,070 g of wax, and the five retests about 60 g of oil and 690 g of wax. Each 50 g bottle covers its three loads plus a retest at 6% or 8% (45 g or 48 g); an oil that wins at 10% needs 51 g, so pour that one retest from the second-order bottle.
| Line | Buy | Price | Why this size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sandalwood Fragrance Oil | 50 g | ₹271.40 | 48 g for three loads + retest |
| Palo Santo Fragrance Oil | 50 g | ₹300.90 | Same per gram as 1 kg |
| Lavender Fragrance Oil | 50 g | ₹270.00 | Same per gram as 100 g |
| Woody Oud Fragrance Oil | 50 g | ₹271.40 | 100 g is cheaper per gram, but test first |
| Sage and Cedarwood Fragrance Oil | 50 g | ₹354.00 | Smallest size listed |
| Oils | 250 g | ₹1,467.70 | |
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | 3 × 1 kg | ₹1,522.20 | About 2.76 kg needed |
| Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) | Pack of 20 | ₹1,888.00 | ₹94.40 per jar |
| Eco Candle Wicks, Thin (C1) | 20 wicks | ₹118.00 | ₹5.90 each; the starting wick |
| Eco Candle Wicks, Thick (C2) | 10 wicks | ₹94.40 | ₹9.44 each; for retests if the pool is short |
| Candle Wick Stickers | 1 sheet, 40 | ₹100.00 | ₹2.50 each |
| Basket total | 20 candles | ₹5,190.30 | ₹259.51 per candle |
The non-oil lines come to ₹3,722.60, more than the oils. That is normal for a test basket and worth knowing: the jar, not the oil, is the biggest single line. If you do not yet own a scale reading to 1 g and a thermometer, add the Candle Making Weighing Scale (₹354.00) and the Pen Thermometer (₹354.00), ₹708.00 together, which makes the basket ₹5,898.30. Without a scale the load test is guesswork.
Which wax for the test basket
All five oil pages state a maximum of 10% (Woody Oud's page says "candles (6-10%)"), so a wax with a higher ceiling buys you no extra room here. The two-ceilings rule applies: the lower of the wax's stated maximum and the oil page's maximum governs.
| Wax | Stated ceiling | 3 × 1 kg | Wax in one 8% candle | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 | up to 10% | ₹1,522.20 | ₹70.02 | Melt/pour 80–90°C on the page; flat per gram from 1 kg to 10 kg |
| Luxury Soy Wax Chunks | up to 13% | ₹1,797.00 | ₹82.66 | ₹274.80 more for 3 kg; headroom these oils cannot use |
| Premium Coconut Soy Wax CSI 468 | up to 13% | ₹1,950.00 | ₹89.70 | Pour 58–60°C on the page; ₹427.80 more for 3 kg |
The five oils, and which size of each to buy
Each card below gives what the product page states (notes and candle load), the size we would buy for the test, and the size where that oil's price per gram settles. Swaps that keep the basket balanced
The basket has one oil per role: creamy wood, resin, herbal, dark wood, herbal wood. If your brand leans differently, swap within a role rather than adding a sixth bottle. Each swap below is priced against the line it replaces, at 50 g.
| Replace | With | Price change | When to make the swap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Woody Oud (₹271.40) | Vetiver Fragrance Oil (₹354.00) | +₹82.60 | You want dry and rooty rather than oud and spice. Vetiver's 1 kg is out of stock on 24 September 2026. |
| Sage and Cedarwood (₹354.00) | British Rose Fragrance Oil (₹212.40) | −₹141.60 | Your line needs one soft floral. The rose page states up to 10% soy. |
| Lavender (₹270.00) | Gilli Mitti (Patchouli) (₹448.00) | +₹178.00 | You want a monsoon, rain-on-earth candle. Flat ₹8.96 per gram from 50 g. |
| Lavender (₹270.00) | Jasmine Fragrance Oil (₹230.00) | −₹40.00 | An Indian white floral in place of herbal; test at the low end. Mogra is out of stock. |
Make the first and second swaps and you have the hub's shortlist (Sandalwood, Palo Santo, Lavender, Vetiver, British Rose) at ₹1,408.70 for 250 g. How lavender, sandalwood and floral options compare across price tiers — including the perfume-grade listings — is covered in Lavender, Sandalwood and Floral Fragrance Oils for Relaxing Candles.
What not to add to a first basket
Sacred Sandal Ember: attractive notes (incense smoke, sandalwood, warm resins), but the only size in stock on 24 September 2026 is 500 g at ₹3,999.00, and the page states no candle load. That is more than three-quarters of the Route B basket for one untested oil. Lavender Oud – Calm Meets Kingdom: perfume-grade, no candle load stated, and the smallest size is 100 g at ₹1,200.00; its 500 g (₹6,200.00) is dearer per gram than its 100 g. Midnight Bakhoor Royale: 100 g minimum at ₹799.00, no candle load stated. None is a bad oil; each is a second-round oil.
From order to decision: a dated plan
A working calendar for the Route B basket, counted from the pricing date of 24 September 2026. Delivery time depends on your location, so confirm dispatch on WhatsApp when you order, and move every later date by the same number of days if the parcel is slow.
The second order, after the test
Suppose Sandalwood and Palo Santo win. The second order is 500 g of each: ₹2,513.40 + ₹3,009.00 = ₹5,522.40, 82 candles at 8%. Add a 10 kg bag of CSI 464 (₹5,074.00) and the oil and wax come to ₹10,596.40. At that point the numbers change in ways worth knowing before you buy:
Sandalwood gets cheaper per candle; Palo Santo does not. At 500 g, Sandalwood oil in an 8% candle costs ₹60.32 against ₹65.14 at 50 g. Palo Santo stays at ₹72.22 whatever size you buy. If you price the two candles the same, Palo Santo carries a thinner margin; per-candle pricing for a brand is part of Wholesale Fragrance Oils for Meditation Candle Brands.
Woody Oud's best step is 50 g to 100 g, not 100 g to 1 kg. Moving up to 100 g costs ₹181.72 more and drops the price per gram by 16.5%; beyond that, nothing changes.
Sage and Cedarwood: two 500 g, not one 1 kg. The difference is ₹1,699.20 on 24 September 2026. If a kilogram is what you need, message us first.
CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells every product in this basket and does not sell finished candles. The page recommends smaller sizes than we would like to sell, prices the routes we advise against, and states plainly where a larger bottle is not cheaper per gram — Palo Santo at every size, Sage and Cedarwood at 1 kg.
All prices, pack sizes and per-gram figures were taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. Out-of-stock sizes (Vetiver 1 kg; Sacred Sandal Ember 100 g and 1 kg) are flagged and never presented as buyable. Notes and candle loads are quoted from each product page.
The choice of basket oils, the test plan, the dates in the calendar and which oils are "second-round" are our judgement; CSI has no throw measurements for these oils and makes no claim that any scent affects health, mood or sleep.
