CSI Collection Buying · Café & Bakery
The best café candle line is not five coffees. It is five roles: a signature coffee, a comfort vanilla, a seasonal spice, an evening candle and one fresh contrast. Here is each role filled from CSI's range, with swaps, costs and a test for the whole line.
₹1,536.81
the five-scent café line × 50 g, twenty test candles · CSI live pricing, September 2026
Quick answers — read this first
What are the best five scents for a café candle collection? One per role: Roasted Coffee as the signature, Dark Vanilla as the comfort seller, Cinnamon Vanilla as the seasonal spice, Coffee Vanilla Tobacco as the evening candle and Cucumber Green Tea as the fresh contrast.

Why a green tea in a café line? Because five sweet, brown candles on one shelf smell alike from a metre away. A fresh candle resets the nose, gives summer buyers a reason to stay, and makes the coffee smell more like coffee beside it.

What does it cost to test the line? ₹1,536.81 for all five at 50 g, twenty 150 g candles at 8%. All five are in stock at 50 g on 24 September 2026 and every page states a candle load.

What if a role does not work for me? Every role has a real swap in stock: Chocolate Fudge or Vanilla Bean for comfort, Apple Cinnamon for spice, Dark Vanilla Oud for evening, Citrus Lemon for fresh.
The short answer
The rule: five roles, not five coffees. Each candle should sit in a different part of the fresh-to-dark and dry-to-sweet map.
The line: Signature (Roasted Coffee), Comfort (Dark Vanilla), Spice (Cinnamon Vanilla), Evening (Coffee Vanilla Tobacco), Fresh (Cucumber Green Tea).
The money: ₹1,536.81 to test; oil averages ₹73.77 per 8% candle at 50 g prices; the evening candle costs ₹78.02 more to make than the fresh one, so price it a tier up.
The gap: no chai oil is listed. Cinnamon Vanilla is the nearest spice role; say so rather than label it chai.
A café line should spread out, not cluster Five roles placed by the notes each CSI page states. Placement is editorial judgement, not a measurement. FRESH · SWEET DARK · SWEET FRESH · DRY DARK · DRY lighter, brighter ← weight of the base notes → darker, heavier drier ← sweetness → sweeter Cucumber Green Tea · fresh Citrus Lemon (swap) Roasted Coffee · signature Cinnamon Vanilla · spice Apple Cinnamon (swap) Dark Vanilla · comfort Chocolate Fudge (swap) Coffee Vanilla Tobacco · evening Dark Vanilla Oud (swap) The five-scent line A swap for one role If two filled circles sit close together, customers will read them as the same candle. Keep one per region.
The five-scent café line on a two-axis map: how heavy the base notes are, and how sweet the overall scent reads, judged from each CSI page's stated notes. The line covers four regions of the map; the swaps (hollow) show what each role could become without collapsing into its neighbour.
Straight answer
Which five fragrances make the best café-inspired candle collection from CSI's range?
Build the line from five roles. Signature: Roasted Coffee (₹230.00 for 50 g), whose page lists coffee bean, dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla and caramel. Comfort: Dark Vanilla (₹410.00), caramel and cream over amber. Spice: Cinnamon Vanilla (₹271.40), cinnamon and clove over cream and butter. Evening: Coffee Vanilla Tobacco (₹449.00), coffee and cocoa over tobacco leaf and amber. Fresh: Cucumber Green Tea (₹176.41), cucumber and green tea over clean musk. The set is ₹1,536.81; every page states a candle load and every oil is in stock at 50 g on 24 September 2026. The fresh candle is the one people question and the one that makes the line work: it stops the shelf smelling of one sweet brown note, and it gives the collection something to sell in April.
One line: coffee to name it, vanilla to sell it, spice for winter, tobacco for evening, green tea for contrast.
Start with the signature. Roasted Coffee 50 g is ₹230.00 (₹4.60/g), four 150 g candles at 8%. It is in stock at every size from 15 g to 1 kg on 24 September 2026, so on that date the candle your line is named after can be reordered at any size.

Five roles, not five coffees

A collection is a set of choices. If every candle smells like the one next to it, the customer has nothing to choose.

The obvious café line is five coffee candles, and it is the wrong one. On a shelf, in a gift box or in a market stall, a customer smells two or three candles and decides. If those candles are Roasted Coffee, Moca Coffee and Coffee Blast, they smell three shades of the same thing, and the customer walks away with one candle or none. A line that sells more than one candle per customer gives each candle a job. We use five roles; the café palette itself and the hub shortlist are covered in Buy Café-Inspired Fragrance Oils for Candle Making, and this page builds on it rather than repeating it.

The five roles of a café line
What each role does for the collection, and what it needs from an oil
Role Job in the line What the oil must have CSI oil Stock depth to hold (our judgement)
1 · Signature Names the line; the candle in every photo Unmistakable coffee; every size reorderable Roasted Coffee Deepest: 500 g upwards
2 · Comfort The easy sale; the one people buy for others Soft, sweet, familiar Dark Vanilla Deep: 500 g
3 · Spice Seasonal lift for Diwali and winter Warm spice, still gourmand Cinnamon Vanilla Seasonal: 500 g in winter, 100 g in summer
4 · Evening The premium, the one you price up Darker base; distinct from the signature Coffee Vanilla Tobacco Shallow: 100 g batches
5 · Fresh Contrast; the summer candle Bright top, little sweetness Cucumber Green Tea Seasonal: 100 g in winter, 500 g in summer

The roles also make the business simpler. They tell you which candle carries the name, which one gets the premium jar, which one moves with the season, and which one you can let sell out without worrying. That is why the stock depth column matters as much as the scent.

The line, role by role

Chosen on stated notes, stated candle load, stock depth and price per gram, and on how far each sits from its neighbours. CSI has no throw measurements or sales rankings for these oils; where we say a candle is an "easy sale", that is our judgement of the category, not CSI data. Candle counts assume 150 g at 8% (12 g of oil).

role 1 · signature · coffee
Roasted Coffee Fragrance
The candle the line is named after. The page describes "fresh coffee bean top notes, dark chocolate and espresso heart, and a warm vanilla and caramel base" and states "candles (6-10%)". It is the only CSI coffee oil with all five sizes, 15 g to 1 kg, in stock, and the cheapest coffee per gram, which is exactly what a signature needs: you will pour more of it than anything else and you cannot afford for it to run out. It has three five-star reviews, one calling it "really amazing". Limitation: its chocolate and vanilla notes put it closer to the comfort candle than a pure espresso would be; the map keeps them apart only because Dark Vanilla is so much sweeter. If you swap the comfort role to Chocolate Fudge, check the two side by side.

role 2 · comfort · vanilla
Dark Vanilla Fragrance
The easy sale. The page lists "rich vanilla and spice opening into deep caramel and cream, settling into dark amber and warm musk" and states "candles (6-10%)". In a café line it reads as the vanilla latte: sweeter than the signature, rounder, and the one people pick as a gift. One customer called it "One of the best fragrance oils". Why Dark Vanilla rather than Vanilla Bean, which costs the same: the amber and musk base holds its own as a standalone candle, where Vanilla Bean's simpler vanilla is the better blending oil. Limitation: at ₹8.20 per gram at 50 g it is the second dearest oil in the line, and vanilla-rich oils are widely reported to tint wax over time, so test in your real jar.

Cinnamon Vanilla
The winter candle. The page describes "cinnamon and clove top notes, vanilla bean and sugar middle notes, and cream and butter base", states "Up to 13% load for candles" and describes the oil as IFRA-certified and phthalate-free (page wording). It brings the warmth of a spiced drink without leaving the café. It has one five-star and one four-star review ("Will buy more.. wonderful"). The honest gap: CSI lists no chai or masala chai oil on 24 September 2026, and this is not one; ask on WhatsApp if chai is central to your plan, and do not label Cinnamon Vanilla as chai. Limitation: the 13% needs a 13% wax; in CSI 464 the wax's 10% governs.

1 kg ₹4,554.80 ₹4.55 83

role 4 · evening · premium
Coffee Vanilla Tobacco Fragrance Oil
The after-dinner candle, and the one you price up. The page lists "fresh brewed coffee and cocoa top notes, a vanilla cream and tonka bean heart, and a tobacco leaf, amber, and soft musk base" and states "Recommended load - candles: 7-9% soy wax (strong throw at lower loads)"; it also says "IFRA Certified" (page wording). It shares coffee with the signature but sits at the far, dark end of the map because of the tobacco and amber. Limitation: it is the dearest oil in the line, 2.5 times Cucumber Green Tea per gram at 50 g; its ceiling is 9%, so test at 7%, 8% and 9%; and there is no 15 g. Keep it in 100 g batches until it proves itself.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%

Cucumber Green Tea
The candle people question, and the one that makes the line work. Stated notes: "Top Notes: Crisp cucumber, fresh green tea leaves | Heart Notes: Delicate jasmine, hints of lemon | Base Notes: Clean musk, light woods". The page says "we recommend using 8-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax"; the wording is loose, so we apply it as a percentage of total candle weight and test at 8% and 10% with 6% as a control. It is the iced tea on a café menu: it gives a buyer who does not want sweet a reason to stay, and after smelling it the coffee reads more clearly. It is also the cheapest oil in the line at ₹3.53 per gram at 50 g. Limitation: it is not a gourmand, and in our judgement it is likely to be the slowest seller in a winter launch; hold 100 g, not 500 g, until April.
Size Price Per gram 150 g candles at 8%
15 gm ₹93.22 ₹6.21 1
50 gm ₹176.41 ₹3.53 4
100 gm ₹352.82 ₹3.53 8
500 gm ₹1,663.80 ₹3.33 41
1 kg ₹3,327.60 ₹3.33 83
Oil per 8% candle: ₹42.34 at 50 g, ₹39.93 at 500 g; the 15 g is 76% dearer per gram than the 50 g. Buy Cucumber Green Tea
The line at 50 g: ₹1,536.81 for 250 g of oil. Smell-first at 15 g: four of the five for ₹422.64 (Coffee Vanilla Tobacco has no 15 g), but one 15 g bottle is one candle, not a load test.

How the five sit together

The map at the top of this page places each oil by two things its notes tell you: how heavy the base is (light woods and musk at one end, tobacco, amber and oud at the other) and how sweet the whole reads (green tea at one end, caramel and cream at the other). A line works when its candles sit in different regions. The table turns the map into decisions.

The line on one page · stated notes and our judgement
Where each candle sits, when it sells, and where it goes on the shelf
Role Lead notes (page) Base weight Sweetness Strongest season (judgement) Shelf position
Signature · Roasted Coffee coffee bean, espresso, dark chocolate Medium: vanilla, caramel Medium All year; monsoon and winter Centre, eye level
Comfort · Dark Vanilla vanilla, caramel, cream Medium-heavy: amber, musk High Diwali and winter gifting Beside the signature
Spice · Cinnamon Vanilla cinnamon, clove, sugar Medium: cream, butter High Diwali to February Seasonal end-cap
Evening · Coffee Vanilla Tobacco coffee, cocoa, tobacco leaf Heavy: tobacco, amber, musk Medium-low Winter evenings; gifting for men Top shelf, premium jar
Fresh · Cucumber Green Tea cucumber, green tea, lemon Light: clean musk, light woods Low April to June Far end, as the contrast
Mistake: replacing the fresh candle with a fifth gourmand because "it is a café line". Fix: five gourmands cluster in the sweet half of the map, and a customer smelling three of them in a row stops telling them apart. Keep one candle outside the cluster. If green tea feels wrong for your brand, use the fresh swap (Citrus Lemon), not a sixth sweet candle.

A swap for every role

Every role has at least one real alternative in stock on 24 September 2026. Swap one role at a time, and check the new candle still sits apart from its neighbours on the map. Oil cost per candle is at 8% in a 150 g jar, 50 g price.

Swaps by role · 24 September 2026
What to swap in, what changes, and what it costs
Role Swap What changes (page notes) Candle load on page Oil per 8% candle Watch out for
Signature Moca Coffee brewed coffee, light cocoa, creamy chocolate, tonka, amber Not stated ₹134.40 15 g, 500 g and 1 kg out of stock; cannot be a deep-stock signature
Comfort Vanilla Bean plainer vanilla with caramel Up to 10% soy ₹98.40 Same price as Dark Vanilla; less character alone
Comfort Chocolate Fudge cocoa, caramel, toasted nuts, brown sugar 6–10% ₹47.58 Sits close to Roasted Coffee; 100 g out of stock
Spice Apple Cinnamon apple and cinnamon, baked goods, nutmeg, vanilla 6–10% soy; cure 48–72 h ₹56.92 Reads bakery more than café
Evening Dark Vanilla Oud vanilla and cardamom into oud, amber, cedar 6–10% ₹76.80 Oud divides people; loses the coffee link
Fresh Citrus Lemon lemon and lime, grapefruit and orange, mandarin 6–10% ₹40.80 No base notes listed; brighter, shorter

Two swaps we would argue against. Coffee Blast and Khamrah Qahwa are both real CSI listings with café-sounding notes, but on 24 September 2026 Coffee Blast is in stock at 50 g only, and Khamrah Qahwa is a perfume-grade oil at ₹15.06 per gram with no stated candle load. Neither can carry a role you need to reorder. The coffee oils are compared one against another in Coffee Shop Fragrance Oils for Candles, and the coffee-vanilla-chocolate combinations in Coffee, Vanilla and Chocolate Fragrance Oils for Candles.

What the line costs to test, make and launch

To test

All five at 50 g: ₹1,536.81. That is four candles per oil at 8%: enough for 6%, 8% and 10% (or 7%, 8% and 9% for Coffee Vanilla Tobacco) plus one to sit on the shelf beside the others for the line test below.

To make, one candle per role

Roles can carry different vessels as well as different scents. The worked example below uses the 150 g Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid (₹94.40 each) for three roles, the Orange Glass Jar with Golden Lid (150 gram) (₹107.00 each) for the spice candle and the Black Glass Jar with Black Lid (150 gram) (₹107.00 each) for the evening candle. The black jar's listing title reads "(Deliveries Starting 5th Dec)"; check on WhatsApp what that means for your order before you plan a Diwali launch around it. Wax is 138 g of Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464 (₹70.02); wick is one C1 (₹5.90).

Worked example · one 150 g candle per role, oil at the 50 g price
The evening candle costs ₹78.02 more to make than the fresh one
Role Oil (12 g) Jar Materials per candle Price position (judgement)
Signature · Roasted Coffee ₹55.20 Clear, golden lid ₹225.52 Core price
Comfort · Dark Vanilla ₹98.40 Clear, golden lid ₹268.72 Core price
Spice · Cinnamon Vanilla ₹65.14 Orange, golden lid ₹248.06 Core price, seasonal
Evening · Coffee Vanilla Tobacco ₹107.76 Black, black lid ₹290.68 One tier up
Fresh · Cucumber Green Tea ₹42.34 Clear, golden lid ₹212.66 Core price

All figures exclude labour, freight, packaging and GST. The C1 wick is a starting point; run a melt-pool test in each jar and adjust from the Candle Wicks collection. Oil across the line averages ₹73.77 per candle at 50 g prices, and less at 500 g.

To launch

Worked example for a winter launch, stock depth set by role: Roasted Coffee 500 g (₹1,890.00), Dark Vanilla 500 g (₹3,840.00), Cinnamon Vanilla 500 g (₹2,301.00), Coffee Vanilla Tobacco 100 g (₹899.00) and Cucumber Green Tea 100 g (₹352.82): ₹9,282.82 for 41 + 41 + 41 + 8 + 8 = 139 candles at 8%, ₹66.78 of oil per candle. We sell 1 kg of every one of these. For a launch, don't buy it: the 1 kg of Cucumber Green Tea is 5.7% cheaper per gram than its 50 g, but a kilogram of your slowest winter seller is money on a shelf.

Winter launch for Diwali, 8 November 2026: the role-weighted order above is ₹9,282.82 in oil for 139 candles. Ask on WhatsApp for a quote with GST invoice and a dispatch date that leaves a week to cure before you sell.

Testing the line as a line

Every candle can pass its own test and the line can still fail. Test the five together.

Single-oil load tests tell you each oil works. They do not tell you whether the five work as a collection. After the individual 6%, 8% and 10% tests, run this line test with the best candle of each oil. The hot-throw protocol for café and bakery oils that usually need extra testing, and the order to run it in, is in the café and bakery launch plan.

1
Pour one candle per role at its chosen loadUse the load each oil passed at in its own test, in the jar that role will be sold in. Label the base, not the side, so the next steps are blind.
2
Cure all five togetherNone of these pages states a cure time. Cure the five side by side for the same period, at least 48–72 hours and longer for soy as common practice; smell at day 3 and day 7.
3
Run the shelf testLine the five up with lids off. Ask five people who did not make them to smell left to right and answer two questions: which would you buy, and which two smell most alike? If two candles are named as "most alike" by three people or more, one of them needs a swap.
4
Check the contrast orderAsk one person to smell Roasted Coffee, then Cucumber Green Tea, then Roasted Coffee again. If the coffee reads stronger the second time, the fresh candle is doing its job.
5
Burn in rotation, one a daySame room, same length of burn, one candle per day for five days. Note what you smell from the doorway at 30 minutes and 1 hour. The evening candle should read darker than the signature; if it does not, it is not earning its higher price.
6
Fix roles, then stock depthsConfirm each oil's role, then set its reorder size by role (signature and comfort at 500 g, evening at 100 g, spice and fresh by season). Only then name the candles.

Naming and presenting the line

Name the candles after the drink or the moment, never after a café chain, a coffee brand or a perfume. "Espresso Bar", "Vanilla Latte", "Cinnamon Counter", "Late Table" and "Iced Green Tea" tell a customer what to expect and belong to nobody. Avoid "chai" unless you have an oil that is one; Cinnamon Vanilla is a spiced cream, and a customer who expects cardamom and ginger will notice. The same applies in reverse to CSI's own product names: some listings carry a brand in their name, and that name should not reach your label.

Let the jar carry the role
Customers read colour before they read labels. A consistent system (clear glass for the core, one colour for the seasonal candle, black for the premium) tells them which candle is which from across a stall. Liquid dyes help too: a touch of brown dye for the signature, undyed natural wax for the comfort candle, and nothing heavy on the fresh one. Add dye at the test stage so you judge the finished product.
Argued against our own interest: a five-scent line is not always the right launch. If you are testing a market with one stall or one online listing, launch three (signature, comfort, fresh), learn what sells, and add spice and evening in the second season. That buys three 50 g bottles now instead of five, and we would rather you came back for the other two than bought them and let them sit.

When to launch, and how to rebalance

A café line suits the colder, wetter months: the southwest monsoon runs roughly June to September, and North Indian winter roughly December to February, with Diwali on 8 November 2026 and Christmas on 25 December 2026 in between. Launching before Diwali puts the spice and comfort candles in front of gift buyers. The fresh candle then carries the line into Indian summer, roughly April to June, when in our judgement sweet candles tend to slow.

Seasonal rebalance · worked example, stock depth by role
The same five roles, restocked differently in winter and summer
Role Winter restock Summer restock
Signature · Roasted Coffee 500 g ₹1,890.00 500 g ₹1,890.00
Comfort · Dark Vanilla 500 g ₹3,840.00 500 g ₹3,840.00
Spice · Cinnamon Vanilla 500 g ₹2,301.00 100 g ₹483.80
Evening · Coffee Vanilla Tobacco 100 g ₹899.00 100 g ₹899.00
Fresh · Cucumber Green Tea 100 g ₹352.82 500 g ₹1,663.80
Oil total ₹9,282.82 ₹8,776.60

Large seasonal gourmand runs, with batch maths for Diwali and Christmas, are in Bulk Bakery Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers; a dessert-led gift line that can sit beside this one is in Dessert Fragrance Oils for Scented Candle Businesses; and where to buy each oil, with stock by size, is in Where to Buy Gourmand and Bakery Candle Fragrance Oils in India.

The CSI principle
Give every candle a job.
A collection sells when each candle is a different answer to "which one should I take?". Roles decide the scent, the jar, the price tier and the stock depth, in that order.
"The green tea candle is the reason the coffee candle smells like coffee. Put one fresh scent in every café line."

Why trust this guide

CandleMakingSuppliesIndia sells the oils, jars, wax and wicks named here and does not sell finished candles. This page recommends against building a café line from our dearest coffee oils, suggests launching with three candles instead of five, and tells you not to buy a kilogram of your slowest seller, because a line that sells brings you back.

Every price, pack size, stock status and per-gram figure was taken from CSI's live store and verified on 24 September 2026. Out-of-stock sizes (Moca Coffee 15 g, 500 g and 1 kg; Coffee Blast everything but 50 g; Chocolate Fudge 100 g) are flagged as out of stock on that date and never presented as buyable. Notes, candle loads and IFRA wording are quoted from each product page.

The roles, map positions, seasonal strengths, jar system, price positions and line test are our judgement; CSI has no throw measurements or sales rankings for these oils. For bulk pricing, GST invoicing, and MSDS and IFRA documentation on request, message us on WhatsApp at +91 7397976926.

Frequently asked questions

What scents should be in a coffee shop themed candle collection?
Five roles work well: a signature coffee, a comfort vanilla, a seasonal spice, a darker evening candle and one fresh contrast. From CSI's range: Roasted Coffee, Dark Vanilla, Cinnamon Vanilla, Coffee Vanilla Tobacco and Cucumber Green Tea, ₹1,536.81 at 50 g each.
Why include a non-gourmand scent in a café candle line?
Because several sweet gourmand candles smell alike side by side, and customers stop telling them apart. One fresh candle, such as Cucumber Green Tea, resets the nose, makes the coffee read more clearly, and gives the line a summer seller.
Does CSI sell a chai fragrance oil for candles?
Not on 24 September 2026. Cinnamon Vanilla (cinnamon, clove, vanilla, cream, butter) is the nearest spice role in a café line, but it is not a chai, so do not label it as one. Ask CSI on WhatsApp if chai is essential to your plan.
How many fragrances should a first candle collection have?
Five is a complete line; three is a sensible first launch if you are still testing a market. Start with signature, comfort and fresh, learn what sells, and add spice and evening in the next season.
What is the best coffee fragrance oil to name a candle line after?
One you can reorder at every size. CSI's Roasted Coffee is in stock at every size from 15 g to 1 kg on 24 September 2026, states a 6–10% candle load and is the cheapest coffee oil per gram. Moca Coffee and Coffee Blast have most sizes out of stock.
Should the premium candle in a collection use a different jar?
It helps customers see the tier. In our worked example the evening candle (Coffee Vanilla Tobacco) goes in a black 150 g jar at ₹107.00 each and costs ₹290.68 in materials, against ₹225.52 for the signature in clear glass. Check the black jar's delivery note on its listing before planning a launch date around it.

About this guide: the collection-design page of CSI's café and bakery cluster. It builds a five-scent café candle line by role (signature, comfort, spice, evening, fresh), places the five on a positioning map, gives a swap for every role, costs the line to test, make and launch, and sets out a line test. It does not repeat the café palette explainer or hub shortlist.
