Bulk Bakery Fragrance Oils for Candle Manufacturers

Batch maths at 250, 500 and 1,000 candles

Start with one scent to see the shape of the maths. Apple Cinnamon is the example because it is in stock at every size and its page states "6-10% for soy wax candles, cure 48-72 hours. 6-8% for paraffin wax". Everything below is at 8% of total weight in the 150 g Clear Glass Jar with Golden Lid, with a C1 eco wick and Luxury Soy Wax CSI 464, rounded up to whole packs with a little spare wax for test candles.

The per-candle figure is the same at all three scales. That is not a rounding accident. Apple Cinnamon is ₹4.74 per gram from 50 g to 1 kg; CSI 464 is ₹0.51 per gram whether you buy the 1 kg (₹0.51) or the 10 kg bag; the clear jar is ₹94.40 each in packs of 10 or 20; the C1 wick is ₹5.90 each from 10 to 1,000. At list prices, a manufacturer ordering 1,000 candles' worth pays the same per unit as a hobbyist ordering ten. We would rather you knew that before you place a large order than after. The route to a lower unit cost at this scale is a quote: message us on WhatsApp with the whole run (oils, wax, jars and wicks together) and ask for bulk pricing and a GST invoice.

Some oils do reward size. Pumpkin Spice costs ₹79.30 of oil per candle at the 50 g price and ₹63.72 at the 1 kg price; across 1,000 candles that is ₹15,576.00. A five-scent, 1,000-candle bakery run

Worked example. The split below is illustrative: it leans on the two most familiar bakery scents and gives the other three about two melter loads each. Replace the candle counts with your own sales history; the method holds. Pack combinations are the cheapest in-stock mix at list prices that covers each need exactly.

Add 140 kg of CSI 464 (₹71,036.00), 1,000 clear jars (₹94,400.00) and 1,000 C1 wicks (₹5,900.00) and the run comes to ₹233,100.00 in materials, ₹233.10 per candle. Jars are 40% of that and oil 26%, which is why a manufacturer's first negotiation should be about the whole basket, not the oil alone. Every figure excludes labour, freight, packaging and GST.

The five bulk bakery oils

Chosen for a manufacturer, not a hobbyist: every one is in stock at 1 kg on 24 September 2026, every page states a candle load, and together they cover the bakery counter (fruit and spice, spiced cream, autumn spice, plain vanilla, chocolate). CSI has no throw measurements or sales rankings for these oils; the order below follows the illustrative run, not a performance claim. Candle counts assume 150 g at 8%.

The Diwali and Christmas calendar

On 24 September 2026, Diwali (8 November) is 45 days away and Christmas (25 December) is 92 days away. North Indian winter runs roughly December to February, with the south milder, so in our judgement bakery scents that suit Diwali gifting can stay seasonal through Christmas and into January. The plan below treats the two festivals as two separate pours with a decision point between them, because the worst bulk mistake is committing the Christmas half before you know what sold at Diwali.

Delivery time depends on where you are, and we will not promise a transit time on a page. Confirm dispatch dates on WhatsApp before you fix pour days. Running the pour: melter loads and lots

A 10 kg melt of wax, at 138 g of wax per 150 g candle, makes 72 candles (10,000 ÷ 138 = 72.4) and needs 864 g of oil at 8%. That is your natural lot: one scent, one melt, one lot number. CSI's WAX MELTER FOR CANDLE MAKING, Electric Wax Melter (Imported) is listed at ₹21,240.00 for the 10 kg capacity; one customer reports that "10 kgs of wax melts in mere 20-30 minutes" (a customer's experience, not a CSI specification). Spread over a single 1,000-candle run it is ₹21.24 per candle; over a year of runs, far less. Smaller operations can use the Mini Electric Wax/Soap Melter (1 litre capacity), ₹2,360.00, for test lots.

Wax, wicks and boxes at volume

At 138 kg of wax a season, the wax choice is a real cost decision. CSI 464 and the Chunks are priced flat per gram from 1 kg to 10 kg; CSI 468's 5 kg and 10 kg are a paisa or so cheaper per gram than its 1 kg (₹650.00). The real difference is the ceiling and the price.

Four of the five oils in this run stop at 10% on their own pages, so a 13% wax adds headroom only for Cinnamon Vanilla. Unless your tests show Cinnamon Vanilla needs more than 10%, which would itself be worth questioning, CSI 464 is the better buy. Ceilings are formulation limits, not regulatory limits, and a ceiling is not a target.

Wicks: C1 thin at ₹5,900.00 per 1,000 is the starting point used in the maths; Thick (C2) is ₹9,440.00 per 1,000, and Cotton Braided Wicks Ready Made ₹12,000.00 per 1,000. Where bulk bakery runs go wrong

Two quieter risks. Chocolate Fudge's 100 g is out of stock, which is irrelevant at 1 kg but trips up pack-mix spreadsheets; use 50 g bottles for odd grams at the same per-gram price. And vanilla-heavy lots (Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon Vanilla) are the ones to hold back a retained sample from for colour, not just scent.
