The full ladder: every Indian oil, every size

Every in-stock oil that can carry an Indian collection, from white florals to oud and bakhoor, sorted by its lowest in-stock price per gram on 24 September 2026. Per gram is price divided by grams, to two decimals. "—" means the size is not listed; "out of stock" means it is listed but cannot be bought on that date. Three readings of this table matter for a wholesale buyer. First, the floor spread is almost four to one: British Rose at ₹3.07 against Amber Oud Royal at ₹11.64. In a 150 g candle at 8% that is ₹36.82 of oil against ₹139.68. Second, candle loads cluster at the cheap end: the first eleven oils on the ladder all state a candle load except Saffron Cedarwood and Royal Oud; from the Royale range upwards, only White Royal Oud and Gilli Mitti do. Third, the 15 g column is almost always the dearest, often by a wide margin. Vetiver's 15 g is ₹12.51 a gram, 77% more than its 50 g. Saffron Cedarwood is the single exception, where the 15 g (₹6.92) undercuts the 50 g (₹7.08).

Four price shapes, and what each means for your order

Plot any oil's per-gram price against its size and you get one of four shapes. Knowing which shape an oil has tells you how to order it without re-reading the table every time.

Shape 1 — steep: where the kilogram earns its place

British Rose falls from ₹6.29 at 15 g to ₹3.07 at 1 kg; Jasmine from ₹6.87 to ₹3.92 (flat between 500 g and 1 kg); Ylang Ylang from ₹7.08 to ₹5.31. In per-candle terms, an 8% Jasmine candle carries ₹82.40 of oil at the 15 g price and ₹47.08 at 1 kg, a ₹35.32 difference on every candle. These are the oils where wholesale buying genuinely changes your margin, and they include the florals that stand in for mogra and rajnigandha while those are out of stock.

Shape 2 — floor at 100 g: the quiet majority

Gardenia's 100 g is 2.9% cheaper per gram than its 50 g, and then ₹4.33 holds all the way to 1000 g. Sandalwood drops 7.4% from 50 g to 100 g and stops at ₹5.03; Woody Oud drops 16.5% and stops at ₹4.53. For these oils, ten 100 g bottles cost the same as a kilogram or a few rupees less (Gardenia ₹4,330.00 against ₹4,332.00). The kilogram is a handling choice (one bottle, one batch) rather than a price choice.

Shape 3 — flat: buy to the run, not to the discount

Gilli Mitti is ₹8.96 a gram at 50 g, 100 g, 500 g and 1 kg (0.0% difference between the 50 g and the kilogram). The perfume-grade sandal oil, listed by CSI as Sandal ITC inspired fragrance oil, is ₹8.84 at 50 g and ₹8.85 at 100 g and 1 kg, so its 100 g costs ₹1.00 more than two 50 g bottles and its 1 kg ₹8.00 more than twenty. That listing name is CSI's; the oil is CSI's interpretation, CSI is not affiliated with the company named, and the name belongs nowhere on your label. It is also perfume-grade with no candle load stated.

Shape 4 — inverted: bigger costs more

Saffron Cedarwood's 500 g is ₹2,584.20 (₹5.17/g) and its 1 kg is ₹6,867.60 (₹6.87/g), 33% more per gram. Two 500 g packs cost ₹5,168.40 and save ₹1,699.20 against one kilogram. The Royale range: 100 g, 500 g, 1 kg

Four of CSI's Indian-palette oils share the same 100 g and 500 g prices (Sacred Sandal Ember's listed 1 kg differs): Smoked Rose Royale, Midnight Bakhoor Royale, Sultan’s Smoke and Sacred Sandal Ember. None is sold in 15 g or 50 g, and none of their pages states a candle load.

The arithmetic is small but consistent. Five 100 g packs cost ₹3,995.00; the 500 g costs ₹4.00 more. Two 500 g packs cost ₹7,998.00; the 1 kg costs ₹1.00 more. Ten 100 g packs cost ₹7,990.00; the 1 kg costs ₹9.00 more. None of those gaps matters to a candle's margin, but together they tell you the Royale range has no published bulk tier: the price per gram is about ₹8.00 whatever you buy. The only Royale oil with a lower listed kilogram price is Sacred Sandal Ember (₹6,999.00, ₹7.00 a gram), and that kilogram is out of stock, as is its 100 g.

Stock gaps by size, 24 September 2026

A wholesale plan that assumes a size is available when it is not fails on the day you reorder. Here is every gap in the Indian palette on the pull date, with the in-stock workaround and what it costs.

Two notes on reading stock. The store shows whether a size can be ordered, not how many units are on the shelf; for a wholesale order of several kilograms of one oil, confirm quantity on WhatsApp before you promise a customer. And Rajnigandha's listing still carries a "Ships 12th July 2025" note in its title, a date that has passed; treat it as out of stock, not as a pre-order. Buying 1.2 kg: the cheapest pack mix per oil

A run of 100 candles of 150 g at 8% uses 1.2 kg of oil. Few oils come in a 1.2 kg pack, so a wholesale buyer is really choosing a mix of sizes. Here is the cheapest exact mix for eight Indian oils, against the tempting alternative.

British Rose shows why this matters: rounding up to 1.5 kg (1 kg + 500 g) costs ₹908.60 more than the exact 1.2 kg mix, for 300 g you may not pour before the season turns. On Saffron Cedarwood, the route through the 1 kg listing costs ₹1,699.20 more than two 500 g packs. On Jasmine, two 500 g packs (₹3,922.00) come to one rupee less than the 1 kg (₹3,923.00), which is noise, but proof that the kilogram is not a discount there either. On Midnight Bakhoor Royale, twelve 100 g bottles beat the kilogram route by ₹9.00: trivial money, but it shows there is no bulk reward to chase. The oil in a British Rose candle on the exact mix is ₹37.52; the wax alongside it, 138 g of CSI 464, is ₹70.02, or ₹7,002.12 for the whole 100-candle run.

Six wholesale rules for Indian oils

Rule 5 deserves one more line. The oil cost gap between two Indian oils is often smaller than it looks on the ladder. Sandalwood at its floor puts ₹60.32 of oil in a candle; Gardenia at its floor, ₹51.96; Woody Oud, ₹54.37. Raat Ki Rani at 500 g is ₹81.29. Pick the scent your customers want, then buy it at its floor.
